Picrel is one of my favorite books, but I haven’t found anything dece besides it. Heard good things about The Sluts, but Cooper’s been very hit-or-miss for me.Doesn’t have to be literally “about” the internet; House of Leaves, for example, does the formal-multitextual rabbithole very well in some parts, but the thing about HoL is that Mark Z. Danielewski is a delusional sham, and we are worse off for anyone having humored him.
>>25631321Yeah i got a story about the internet. Here it is:I logged on to 4chan and called OP a faggot. The end.

>>25631321Shalom!
>>25631341Hey, Mark.
>>25631341Ayy, what up.
>>25631321Just try The Sluts. I like Amygdalatropolis too but I like The Sluts better. It's very close to being some edgy bullshit but the writing is good enough where it completely overpowers the edge. It's pretty graphic and gay fyiMaybe save it though because after that there's very little else.
Pic related is one of the only decent books published this decade, the multi textual splicing of sources feels very internet-y. Also worth checking out Peripatet by Grant Maierhofer, though you may be put off at the thought of reading at least a few pages of his browsing history copypasted straight into the book.
>>25631321Bump, also interested in more good "internet" novels. I read negative space, which is also somewhat related to the internet, but it felt like gay ya novel shit for most of the book
taipei is a genuinely great novel. you have to get over the fact that tao lin is a meme. read it fresh. i lent it to both my uni flatmate and my mum and both were fascinated by it.
>>25631321The Sluts is far better than Amygdalatropolis. Patricia Lockwood's "Nobody Is Talking About This" is also pretty good if we're talking internet novels. Picrel's worth checking out too>inb4 [excerpt from novel] um actually this is shit!Yes, it's written that way on purpose
I'm liking Jane Schoenbrun's "Public Access Afterworld"
>>25632166I thought I Saw The TV Glow was brilliant but didn’t like Camp Miasma. Would you recommend?
>>25632189Yeah! I am a sucker for anything Jane does though...
Stop shilling your 12-year-old edgelord crap. Amygdalatropolis' major story beats were all patterned after Houellebecq's "Whatever".• Both feature incels employed in the technology field.• Whatever's narrator contemplates having sex with one of his clients, but can't bear to actually do it. Its narrator fantasizes about slipping a roofie to his mother and raping her, and comes close, but can't go through with it.• Whatever's narrator seethes about sexual liberation and how it's left him sexually destitute. Its narrator is such an incel that he literally can't get it up anymore.• Whatever's narrator is hospitalized for a heart condition. Its narrator experiences both of his parents dying from cancer.• Whatever's narrator tries to talk his friend into killing a woman that they encountered at a night club. Its narrator orders a sex doll and, instead of having sex with it, rips it to pieces while screaming about how it's a slut.• Whatever's narrator ends up in a mental institution. Its narrator completely loses his mind and destroys his house in an attempt to repel a centipede infestation.• At the end, Whatever's narrator tries to unwind by vacationing in the forest. Its narrator tries to unwind by looking at a bunch of webcams showing pastoral areas.Plus it tries to be edgy, by doing stuff that has became boring a long time ago.• The narrator tries to fuck his mom. But that was done about 2500 years ago in "Oedipux Rex" by Sophocles.• The narrator watches a video of someone drowning a baby. But that was done in 1960 in "Rabbit, Run" by John Updike.I could go on, but bleah. So not only did you not transcend 12-year-old edgelord crap, but you couldn't even come up with an original plot.
>>25632620oh hmmmm bump
>>25632620>thinks an original narrative is still possible>thinks narrative is relevant
>>25631321Pretty good book cover
