Where all the Mecha Musume at?
>>
any good recent Mecha Musume shows?

Symphogear - liked
Infinite Stratos - dropped before the whole harem got formed because everyone sucked so hard
Busou Shinki - liked the mini series/OVA, could not get into the TV series
>>
>>23736570
If you didn't like the Busou Shinki TV series, perhaps you'd prefer Frame Arms Girl?
>>
>>23736579

>>
The new Blue Archive update is pretty fun.
>>
>>23736582
NTA but I preferred FAG over Shinki. It took itself less seriously and was more focused on the mecha aspect with more combat and light touches on Plamo as a hobby while Shinki is kinda more like a standard harem series with a gimmick of the characters being plamo.
Wasn't in love with FAG but it gave me more of what I was looking for in these sort of series. More comedy, more mecha stuff. Though I'd prefer if the designs were used for a normal story.

>harem series

People keep saying this when the tv show was airing but the supposed male MC is barely a character in the story and the show is more or less hamtaro in its format- tiny creatures go to world of adventure. There is no harem element any where

If anything FAG was more harem like in the style.

BS anime was a better show
>>
>>23736832
The male MC barely is present but is still the primary motivating factor for the Shinkis across most of the plots.
Whether or not one or the other is better is down to opinion, they both have different strengths and weaknesses and I found that FAG was more enjoyable when I was like the anon and not really into Shinki.

I really wish they continued making Busou Shinki Battle Masters games. It was a bit grindy but still fun, if they improved the battle system to be faster like Gundam vs. Gundam it could have been perfect.

I gotta say, I love the character designs of Masou Gakuen HxH, specifically Aine and Yurishia. I like how minimalist yet sexy their leotards are. The mecha part, not so much.

>Where all the Mecha Musume at?
I've semi recently played through Dolls Nest yet again, this time on hard mode and with RavenTweaks mod (among others), and to be honest, it made an already decent game even better. It's fairly short and sweet yet it somehow scratches the combined itch comprised of old gen Armored Core gameplay and customization, Dark Souls flavored three dee metroidvania and Nihei's patented brand of megastructural goodness. Beyond this one singular absolute banger of a game, I have exactly zero interest in anything musume, and even that is purely incidental. But boy oh boy, is that game good.

>>23749802
On a cursory glance, 30 Minute Sisters seems fairly interesting, given the customization the series has going for it has potential to allow you to hotglue together your perfect cumjar resident.
>>
>>23741136
Basically a naked body set. Not gonna fly even without nips. Might be why I now want this Grande Scale Ao.

I really enjoyed Dolls Nest. Glad to hear that there's a patch out there that addresses how weak most of the weapons are even with the constant patches buffing them.

Just remove ammo as a game mechanic honestly. I dont even know why its a game mechanic in a science fantasy setting where we can materialize new weapons and armor out of thin air. Its closer to dark souls in terms of atmosphere and implied environmental storytelling than armored core.
>>

>Just remove ammo as a game mechanic honestly. I dont even know why its a game mechanic in a science fantasy setting where we can materialize new weapons and armor out of thin air. Its closer to dark souls in terms of atmosphere and implied environmental storytelling than armored core.
Both Armored Core and Dark Souls have limited ranged ammo, be it, well, ammo or casts. I can see why it's limited, your cutest little murderdrone can carry only so much of the heavy metalic liquid to magically transfigure into ammo or frame's structural integrity. Although giving the player just twice the amount would probably alleviate a lot of grief I have when it comes to actually utilizing ranged options. Same with cutting the cooldown on the melee weapons in half, now there wouldn't be any need to carry two sharpened pieces of metal to poke or slash with, so maybe, just maybe, carrying, not to mention using, a hand held firearm outside of that one helicopter boss fight would be an option.
>>
>>23752801
Dual melee builds look cool though. The only issue with melee in dolls nest is that they don't connect when within range. So you end up getting a phantom miss at point blank range. Melee implementation peaked with how dead simple it was with Halo. You get close enough, your melee magnetizes to the target and you actually feel like melee is a viable strategy.

Unlike modern games like Dolls nest where they don't even think of this at all cause its all style over substance/fun. Its never fun to swing dual swords or a big hammer just to have it miss while clipping through the enemy mesh cause the hitbox was smaller than the actual model and doesn't magnetize to the target like even dark souls has a weak version of. Most noticeable when you land a heavy killing hit on an enemy.

As for the flying bosses, could just add energy slashes to the melee weapons to make them viable all around with some range to them. Not exactly an alien concept to japnese mecha. Gundam does that all the time.

DXMTS arguably passes as a mecha-musume game, and I've made a mod (on the usual mod place for mods) for it that fixes the stupid long arms you get if you keep arm "parts" equipped with a human body, so I feel like it's worth a shill now. Although I really should have done it while it was still on sale.
Pretty high cool factor otherwise, even if some of the design choices are questionable.

This game is getting dangerously close to taking Bandai's whole EXVS grift. It walks the thin line between being a generic anime arena fighter and being almost if not just as technical as EXVS. It is a definitive Chinese W for now. On a unrelated note my very first roll was pic related, they just new I was a G gundam fag.

>>
>>23780371
This just ended up on my radar the other day, is discord literally the only place that talks about EXVS or this anymore? I'd never expect these games to be super popular but I was kind of surprised that the EXVS threads here eventually died, it seemed like that group would just go on forever
This game plays pretty well but I just don't like that it's a gacha
>>
>>23834240
there are some forums where people still talks about them but only to rip the new updates or more technical stuff.
It is the natural trend of 4chan, EXVS is pure gameplay and "references" (and not even /v/ or /vg/ likes to talk about gameplay), and the best version to play in terms of content and accesibility are inside a ps4 (and a monthly fee to play) or the RPCS3 emulator.
>This game plays pretty well but I just don't like that it's a gacha
I thought the same. But I found out that if you only log in on the weekends and play for an hour both days, you are in a pretty good spot. The worst part of the game isn't the gacha system, but the live service aspect. Sadly, that is just hard to avoid in any competitive game in this day and age
>>
>>23834659
Really, all it is how inaccessible EXVS is due to being kept in the arcades that makes people lose interest, I still remember how exciting it was when MBON was being released to ps4 and we had the weekends threads on here and /v/ during the beta tests. It showed there was clearly a demand in porting EXVS outside of arcades, but alas Bamco refuses to be a video game company. Till they finally wise up though, we can at least have a more accessible alternative with Starward. Maybe soon they'll be a general on /vg/ or /vmg/.

Busou Shinki was a fairly popular toyline and videogame until Konami said in 2012 that they were discontinuing all of their product lines not related to pachinko and slot machines. The former designers who worked on Busou Shinki knew that there was continuing demand for mecha musume and went over to Kotobukiya to establish Megami Device, while Bandai created 30MS to compete against Megami Device.

Familiarize your self with the idea of moving in short but frequent boosts, get a good grasp of what your tools of approach are when you play melee (super armor moves, quick jokes etc), when you play range, stay relatively close to your part so you're with in reach to save them and vice versa, unless that range character has alot of aoe potential. Your best bet is to do the tutorial and arcade missions. Get more tickets for recruitment, and because they're are only a handful of purple characters, you can max them out quickly talent wise first. Everyone outside of the standard banner, you want to try with trials first, and when you find a keeper, the first thing you should do before committing any resources to obtaining them permanently, is trying them out with no talents, to see if you can play them comfortably without everything unlocked. You can do that by previewing alternate costumes which will put you in training mode, or you can get there by just examining the characters moveset to get to the training mode.

For me, it's Strarf, something about her design speaks to me. I can't wait until I build her kit

I understood that on a conceptual/historic level, but I can't help but see Eliene-Elierica when looking at Oorbellen there. Goes well beyond a quote and more towards an alter.

Man I miss Artery Gear so much. The JP twitter posted about who the fans wanted to see get a figure. Would love to see Nina and Mega Armor Rela. Not hoping for anything new game wise, but at least someone still cares.

I really hate how mecha musume in general has never been that popular, at least mecha itself had a golden age, but mecha musume has always been on the side.

The problem is that mecha musume is too upfront about cute girls being the selling point, filtering quite a lot of normalfags. Most popular IPs always maintain SOME plausible deniability in this regard no matter how popular the waifus may be
>>
>>23871887
>The problem is that mecha musume is too upfront about cute girls being the selling point
It's not even that. It's the loud minority of normal fags see any sort of anime girl and they immediately go " ugh, So generic! Can we get like ACTUAL mechs and robot? You know, stuff for Grown Men. Such as myself?". The larger majority of normalfags don't care for the most part but it's because of the fact that they don't don't care that the loud minority can just start their bullshit and salt the earth. You could make the grittiest, most serious, mecha musume ip, (literally that's Dolls Nest's currently) and people like that will still bitch.

>Why no Heavyarms musume?
Because her bra would have to open up; Heavyarms' most iconic schtick is having its chest and shoulders open up to reveal all its extra weaponry, and on a mechamusume, that means her bare tits would be hanging out (and would most likely have machine-gun nipples). Not exactly work-safe.

He's referring to the anime character. Ines was an Altines - the MMS3rd Small one with purple hair and black-and-red armor. Lene was the big sister, an Altlene - long blonde hair, white-and-blue armor, MMS3 Tall body.
Incidentally, there WAS a blonde Altines (Altines Rosa) and purple-haired Altlene (Altlene Viola), but they were rare exclusives; Altines Rosa had a pair of bonus daggers and red armor with a black rose motif, while Altlene Viola had a bonus giant cannon, purple armor, and a white rose motif. I still have both of mine in storage, pic related.

Plays like a old armored core fangame, explores the maps like a bootleg souls. Everyone is a mecha musume. Plot is written by Nitroplus so its half depression half clearly a lot of political shit going on the BG, not like the MC cares, she is murderhobo trying to find the lego pieces of her goddess while mauling everyone else. Extremely fun game to play and it even has a manga now.

That anything like shtick?
>>
>>23873727
Yes, it's the proper spelling of the term. The one you're using is a misspelling that's become widely accepted, so either term is now acceptable. Google is your friend, friend.
>>
>>23873974
AI summaries are not your friend and they never will be (though in this case it seems broadly correct).
>>
>>23873978
I'm aware. The point was that literally any idiot could've looked up the word - using ANY means, even a common dictionary (yes, those are still a thing) to check the spelling, and you very clearly didn't.
>>
>>23873974

>A schtick (or shtick) is a performer's routine, gimmick, or signature act
That's both English spellings of the word that were used here, spelled correctly. We're not talking about the Yiddish, if that's what you're bitching about. Please get some glasses. Or learn to read. Whichever comes first, Mr. ESL.

>>
>>23863894
Well, DN happened, and zenshin machinegirl came out the same year (rather repetitive but plays surprisingly well). DXM2 also went out of its way to let you hide powersuit parts if you want, which doesn't quite count but is nice.
Also Ash Arms 2 is real and explicitly stated not to be a gacha. Whenever that comes out.
So maybe the time is now.

Your source defaults to the spelling with a C; others default to the spelling without. Just another case of what one source says versus what another source says.

Reminded me of unlocking Arma in Recettear. Who I then proceeded to never use because it was at the end of the postgame with pretty much everything done. Well, here it's a mid-story character at least.

Not sure why the sprite and portrait faces are completely different.
>>
>>23884773
That's less mecha musume and more gynoid.
>>
>>23886236
I suppose so, didn't consider that. It's just that the gameplay in particular activated my mecha neurons, not so much the design. Still wish the sprite would actually match.
>>
>>23886236
>mecha musume
>gynoid
And what is the actual difference between the two?
>>
>>23886531
Kill yourself bot.
>>
>>23886531
Mecha musume = girl outfitted with equipment/attire featuring attributes of some mecha or vehicle
Gynoid = robot designed and built in the form of a human female
The two aren't mutually exclusive, but if they don't fit the former criteria they're generally not considered to be mecha musume.

There's no cause for incivility.
