Just a reminder that he wants more model kits for the Samurai Troopers. I don't know where else was he vocal in his love for model kits besides Kotobukiya and SRW news streams (the former often related to his voice roles like McCrane/Build Tiger in J-Decker or Zero in Mega Man X)...

You know, I want a new cover of this song in the second cour. Random? Maybe.
>>
>>23799976

Pros: Interesting set up and characters
Cons: Pacing, lack of character development, lack of villain presence, and overuse of singing (don't argue with me on this, MOST fans globally didn't care for it)
>>
>>23801367
They could definitely use a few covers of the other songs.
Maybe a version of "Journey Without a Map" where you get all five of the new Troopers singing too, since for some reason Hiroshi Takemura (Touma) was absent in the original version.
>>
https://youtube.com/shorts/yVNgQa-BM0E?si=6aIriL2M8d1ZKKJg
For those who want to see a 3D-fied version of the original Equip scene for Ryo. I want this dubbed with more appropriate dialogue: "Equip, Armor of Wildfire!" None of the dubs or original subs use the word "Equip" for some reason, and it's the most modern translation so far.

>>23801445
That's an interesting choice. But I want covers of some old songs done by the new Troopers, and Honoo no Soldier would fit Gai because it has light rock mixed in. But a Samurai Heart cover for the final episode overall would be awesome.
>>
>>23801548
Maybe if Sunrise foots the bill for a redub of YST to go along with YSST, but in a better marketing strategy than Toei did with Saint Seiya '86 to promote the CGI show.

I... never saw the scene of White Blaze freeing the remaining Troopers anywhere on Tweet-X. I assume it was cut in the Crunchyroll versions, but I'm not too sure either.

Pros;
-The new Characters are decent.
-Surprisingly doesn't shit on the original series and respectfully added to what was already there.
-Reused concepts from the scrapped original sequel that would've came out in the 90s.
-Gave the original cast from Yoroiden a chance to shine and even got a victory round for the OG troopers against the big bad of the season.
Cons;
-Pacing. The show is too short for what it needs to tell and it tried to cram too much into what time it had.
-The music is an absolute nothingburger when standing up to Yoroiden's outstanding soundtrack.
-Killing off the only new female protag character. Granted, with how the first season ends it's possible for her return but it still seems unnecessary.
-The ambiguity of whether or not the OVA's are canon.
-The armor gears for the 3rd gen Troopers are much too blocky and not very aesthetically pleasing.
-The cel-shading CGI is also not something that looks very good. Hopefully they'll dial it down next season.

Overall though, I liked it and am looking forward to season 2.

Yeah, the old image songs sung by the new guys could be good.
Unfortunately, likely due to Takemura not being so adept at singing as the rest of the old crew, Touma only had "SKY DREAMER" so Kaito would only have that unless they'd have him and Shion do a cover of "Cool Moon" (the Seiji and Touma duet).

You gotta wonder if the old man troopers' heights and weights are anything like the MESSAGE ones or have evolved a little more.

That's the group at 17~18, some stop growing around then but some men continue and this is anime after all.

>Ryo: 176cm, 62kg
>Touma: 178cm, 66kg
>Seiji: 175cm, 61kg
>Shin: 174cm, 63kg
>Shuu: 170cm, 62kg

- Touma text: " "As he's grown up, his hobbies have changed. Jogging, swimming, computer. His favorite sport is still baseball. His special skill, is of course, Japanese archery. By the way, his weight is 66kg. It seems like there will be changes for the other four as well, but that's something to look forward to."

- Shin: "Shin, who was born early in the year (March 14) is 18, a year ahead of his peers. He turned 174cm tall, and his weight is 63kg. His favorite sport is of course, swimming. Shin's hobby is learning English conversations, and he's become so fluent that it could almost be considered a special skill, which seems to suit him."

- Shuu: "He is 170cm tall and weighs 62kg. What's most noteworthy is his hobby. He used to openly declare that eating was his hobby, but now it's mountain climbing. His favorite sports have also changed to Tai Chi and rugby."

- Seiji: "The five became samurai in a fight that was forced upon them from their normal lives. Even after shatting the Kikoutei, they were simply stunned. Still, for a warrior like him, kendo is a part of life, and when he feels like it he goes cycling and watching F-1 races. His favorite racer is Prost. Height: 175cm, weight 61kg"

- Ryo: "Ryo is 176 cm tall and weighs 62kg, so he's growing steadily(?). His hobbies are birdwatching and soccer. His position is center forward, which suits Ryo's personality perfectly."

It might be as simple as him getting the Kikoutei. Just devaluing the Haoutei as an evil knockoff of the Kikoutei. If the Dualmare Capsem in Kamen Rider Zeztz is actually meant to separate humans from Nightmares, only to be revealed to not work as intended, then I will compare it to the Sword of Domination for not being able to save any of the new side cast. I could even accuse Takahashi of being a student of Shogo Muto because of this identical story beat.

>Ryusei and Gai are both kids of Ramaga and Sagume's angel and demon custody battle
Given how Ryo looked whenever we saw his face when Ramaga possessed him and when we saw Sagume's face close up, I don't think Ramaga was a demon. I believe he was from the Divine World and was sent to the Yoja World by Sagume. Though it's a bit fucky now because if her plan was to get the Haotei, it's fucked because she ultimately assisted the protags in beating Ramaga, which means the Haotei is out of her reach again. If her plan was never about using the Haotei, then what the fuck was dispatching Ramaga to the Yoja World for?

Muto had to give some kind of bone to the audience in killing off the token sexy girl, even if that means substituting for actual writing and development. Wonder if we'll see more of that cheaping in cour 2.
>>
>>23821677
Maybe Mirei takes Shion's place among the Second Generation Troopers turned soldiers of the Heaven Realm. She has to be brought back for the Heaven Realm with how they deliberately not build her up, but she would be as irrelevant as the others of the Second Gen besides Ryusei and Shion.
>>
>>23822128
I could see it working if Sagume cherrypicked other characters more relevant. Mirei works in being an emotional tie to the 3rd gen troopers like Ryusei does for both the third and 1st gens. If Sagume really goes for the heartstrings, and if the production staff has the balls to recast like they did with Toma and Seiji, she'll utilize Shuten Doji. That'll even out with his ties to the 1st gen troopers and even the Demon Generals/Heavenly Kings, if they become relevant in Shin-den.
>>
>>23822136
They really have yet to say anything on the remaining three and Kayura, would be interesting to see some kind of callback to Shuten Doji.

Ryuichi Hoshino pretty much did his own thing with the manga, down to having an ambiguous ending. He was also responsible for the "Chamurai Troopers" super-deformed 4koma and merch art, under another alias.

Been going over one of the thirtieth anniversary books and the Warlords had different names in the earlier stages.
The editor doesn't outright identify who's who, but going by the order they're listed in and some high context factors, these may be the matchups:
>Kotetsu= Shuten-doji
>Bakurai= Anubis
>Yo= Nahza
>Masamune= Rajura

Nahza was originally to be the illusion lord and possessed by a naga, while Rajura was poison-themed and his armor was patterned after an Amazon scorpion. For one reason or another, their armor themes were swapped after Yoshie Kawahara rewrote the proposal.

Seeing as Masamune Date had one eye and was associated with a lot of poisoning attempts, feels only nature the one-eyed Warlord originally held his name.

Will they bring Shuten back to life and give him a new voice actor like they did with Nasti, Seiji and Touma's recasts?
>>
>>23848366
Adding that I'm less certain on Shuten and Anubis; Kotetsu has significance from Nagasone Kotetsu and could fit a leaderly image, but it also has tiger association and could fit the guy who was designed as looking wild from the start.
Bakurai's kanji relates to lightning and explosions, and if proto-Shuten still had lightning powers then, that could just as much be him. "Yo" and "Masamune" feel more obvious though.
>>
>>23848402
That requires that they have the investment in Shuten that his fans did, fellow enjoyer. I would hope so, but let's see if they acknowledge him and the rest at all.
>>
>>23848402
Back to life? No. I don't think it works like that. Best we can get is like in >>23822136 where if Sagume picks his soul from the Divine World and forces him into servitude like she's seemingly done with Ryusei. No doubt for psychological warfare with his ties to the 1st and 3rg gen Troopers. With Shuten it would work with his ties to the 1st gen Troopers and the Demon Generals.
>>
>>23848473
It'd be a missed opportunity to see if there's any kind of family link between Seiun and Rajura, but they are such minor characters in the long run.

You go through all of Robotack and you have to hand it to Nozomu Sasaki for the sacrifices he made in that role, even though now he's a fujo punchline for jokes about throat cancer.
>>
>>23848486
I mean it's probable. But it's so far down the road it likely isn't much of a missed opportunity. You have to remember that Rajura was born in the early 1550s, whereas Seiun was probably born in the late 2000s. So she's probably like cousin of his descendant by 400 years.
>>
>>23849032
>even though now he's a fujo punchline for jokes about throat cancer
Say what?
>>
>>23850009
He's been a long-running (since 2000s) kind of "cautionary tale" in English fujo circles about how you shouldn't smoke or drink, you'll lose your looks and your voice will age like shit or you'll get throat cancer like Sasaki did.

The cancer isn't true if you were to believe Sasaki himself, but that and other things related to smoking and his throat went around as urban legends in Japan (and got copied for USA) to where he had to put out a statement of what happened to his throat. You still get some English fujos all "Sure guy whatever you say" about that, while I see more memeing from Japanese side about how he hit late puberty.
>>
>>23850184
Thanks for the explanation.

I'm surprised there are smoker VAs, to be honest. If they lose their voice quality, what's even left for them? Stacking shelves in a conbini? Absolutely room temperature IQ behaviour.
>>
>>23850419
Smoking was just everywhere up to the early 90s.
>>
>>23850419
There are a lot of famous guys there that had smoking and drinking as a recreational thing. Can't be sure just how frequent Sasaki did so for fans to wonder "Was it the cigs? Was it cancer?", but there's a 1989 documentary floating around where he and Hiroshi Takemura were seen lighting up at the end while at an izakaya. The vocal change was a lot more sudden and occurred while he was still in a busy period, so you look at the roles and their requirements and Robotack being the culprit adds up way too much.

Will add that yes, there have been translations since 2000. These days, some find it easier to run a book through DeepL or Google and then paste up what they get. It's faster, but if you need accuracy about names then not so good.

>>23851887

I never understood why people let one or two fans monopolize an entire fandom's content. At least the English speaking side of it. In Samurai Troopers or Ronin Warriors case, maybe the community is just too small and allowed these losers to do whatever they want. Have some backbone and just say no
>>
>>23851838
Thanks!
>>
>>23852408
Personally don't get it either, but I get the feeling there's that kind of grandfather clause you get in some fan communities going way back.

>someone writes or draws a lot
>or was there since the dawn of Fanfictionnet or the old forums
>maybe they came later but impressed everyone

Then it gets where as you say, they don't have the backbone or where everyone's committed to not rocking some boat while resentment quietly builds and fans find ways to pick bones with one another. USA community from what I hear right now is kind of a niche of middle-aged women who mostly watched it in high school, so you wonder if they didn't just squash certain mentality.
>>
>>23852551

Well, respect is one thing. But if someone starts acting like they deserve to be worshipped just for writing fanfiction or hell, like you said inaccurately "translating" shit, they should be called out.

I get the feeling these middle aged women never grew out of their awkward teenage phase and still think their biggest contribution to society rests on fandom.
>>
>>23852575
That seems about it. For as much as you get all the talk of how new fans should respect their fandom elders, OGs could do with being a little respectful themselves.

One thing that's been funny to see is how magazine and book editors liked to tease Seiji/Nasty, but also acknowledge how unlikely it might be or that fangirls got angry and panicked over episode 7. It didn't stop one artist like Miki Ukai from shipteasing them in illustrations, but that's as far as the het went.

Translations for Ryo
>"A Nature-Loving Child Whose Friends are Animals": "When Ryo first came to Tokyo, a wealthy city, he probably thought the water tasted bad. Ryo grew up deep in the mountains, surrounded by abundant nature. He would cheerfully walk to school, a distance of 10 kilometers each way, without any trouble. Along the way, he would stop to play with birds and animals, and would even wrestle with bears. He would wander between humans and animals, in nature there was almost no distinction. He was friendly with all kinds of animals, and it was in these mountains that he first met Byakuen. Although he runs around with a strong body and athletic abilities that were cultivated, he gets out of breath easily. When a fight starts, he often feels like he's Tarzan. Because of his lifestyle, he's still bad at socializing.
>“Ryo’s Secret Stories”: "Having grown up in the countryside, Ryo had no idea what Tokyo was like. He firmly believed that Tokyo had Gundam and that TV stations were home to monsters. The ice his dad always bought was always melted, so he thought ice was like water. That's why he still doesn't like real ice."
This seems to be the only material that explains why Ryo dislike shaved ice so much, which makes fans wonder why since it's a specific dislike to include in his profile.

Shuu while I got the time
>"A Glutton Who Believes That Eating is Winning": "From a young age, Shuu has always displayed exceptional energy when it comes to food. After all, he has four younger siblings. If he doesn't eat first, there won't be any left for him. As the eldest son, he also has to take care of his younger siblings. However, his sense of responsibility as an older brother and his appetite are two different things. Shuu's childhood was already a battlefield every day, as he honed his skills to get through food, such as sneaking snacks, and eating and drinking in one gulp without chewing. Shuu, who is outgoing, energetic, and a big eater, is a product of the survival competition he experienced in a large family."
>"Shuu's Secret Stories": "Shuu is the eldest son. He has four younger siblings: A sister 2 years younger, a brother 5 years younger, another brother 7 years younger, and a sister 9 years younger. The brother that is 5 years younger is also a big eater. Shuu still can't remember where he hid the snacks to protect them from his brother.
He believed that yogurt was spoiled milk, and so he would let milk spoil before drinking it."

You think we'll see remade bank footage for other old man troopers before they pass on their crests to the new ones?
>>
>>23863056
Probably. But I doubt they'll make a thing about the crests considering how short and condensed the first season was. If they do show the passing of the crests, it'll probably just all happen in one scene and there won't be any dwelling on it afterward. What'll really impress me is if they use any music from Yoroiden. They very likely won't, but it'd make the Buso sequence for the OGs hit that much harder.
>>
>>23863709
You got a point there. I think it'd be cool if they re-used the music too, maybe added impressive points if Touma gets a full animation bank for once but if they stick to tradition then he'll be minus a few cuts kek.

Something tells me that with Muto wanting the big standout moment to be Ryo in Kikoutei and working back from there, that he's truly one of those who only believes in the original series or we'll get his explanation for undoing the OVA where it was destroyed. Byakuen being Byakuen-o/merged with Kokuen is another of those tells.

>that he's truly one of those who only believes in the original series or we'll get his explanation for undoing the OVA where it was destroyed
It wasn't destroyed. Only it's physical form was broken. The Kikotei is a cosmic energy that physically manifests based on the user's subconsciousness. Even Message acknowledged that it wasn't gone since the entire point of Suzanagi's efforts was to get the Troopers to summon it again so that it could destroy the Earth.

Late but the matter with those translations is silly when you think about it as there were improved ones by that same translator in 2023 vs. the wiki going with 2019 DeepL, where "Shigeru" Ikeda's name was already corrected. Apart from that? I expect-

-Sagume will be more broad in whatever powerplay she's making (hopefully it'll make her pulling Ramaga's strings to get the Haotei make sense).
- The remaining three warrior beasts will be revealed and they, along with Ryusei, will be the Troopers' primary opponents.
- The remaining five Braves will be either forgotten about or they'll be wildcards.
- Ryo will probably be promoted to the head of the DST as I doubt Nasti being complicit in Ramaga's invasion is going to go unnoticed by the government.
- There's probably gonna be some temp guy for the first episode, or couple of episodes, that's taking Gai's place that'll be quickly dispatched.

What I'm hoping for with the next season-

- The OG troopers to have a consistent presence in the season even with taking the back seat for the new gen.
- Further exposition of the relationship between Earth, the Yoja World and the Divine World.
- A fucking explanation as to what the hell is going on with Kayura and the remaining Demon Generals.
- For them to clear up on whether the OVAs are canon or not.
>>
>>23886202
It all depends how much the director and writer know of old publications or if they want to do their own thing in acknowledging or not acknowledging some points, but I remember Mamoru Hamatsu suggested in an Animage article that Kayura and three generals might have died out as the Yoja-kai was tied to Arago's existence.
That'd be a cheap, disappointing but "DEEP LORE" explanation all right. They restored the realm but then died after, service completed, or got one-shotted by some bad guy later.
>>
>>23886473
>That'd be a cheap, disappointing but "DEEP LORE" explanation all right.
That very much would be. I certainly hope that's not the route they go as that really does fuck with established lore. But we'll have to wait and see.
>>
>>23886473

Well the Youjakai is still here, so the lore either changed or Hamatsu wasn't being totally serious. Either way, it seems like Muto put all of his effort into the first season, so we've no idea what he planned to the second, or if he's even the main writer any more.
>>
As for the antagonists, no doubt the heavenly people are now the main ones. But they keep teasing the ten braves for some reason. The rewatch screenings with their voice actors, the recent twitter post, and I read an interview where the producer said their backstories would be explored. Not sure if any of this will come true, or if it's just a bait and switch though.

https://x.com/i/status/2059609311849099430
>>
>>23886587
He did talk about those remaining 5, so maybe they're on a path to what Shuten's was like, potentially?

>>23886578
Yeah, his interview was in '89, mind. It seems like both he and Ikeda didn't want to linger on those characters or world (to disappointment of many) so he probably just quickly threw that out for the interviewer.

The scrapped "Revenge of Arago's Clan" OAV idea that became KD instead was to involve a whole different Yoja realm, and then Ikeda's talk about Message had him saying how new ones were threatening to be created from war and human negativity. It's like they'd tease exploring other versions of that place, but nothing to do with those associated with the concept before.
>>
>>23886600

That's probably also why this show had new villains from the Youjakai who are actual demons. Again, pivoting from established lore to a slightly new concept (for Samurai Troopers).
>>
And the same demons act more human or "modern" in comparison to the warlords. They like music from the ningenkai, have bands, and even play video games according to a new audio drama. Part me wonders if this is supposed to parallel the modernization of Japan, or if it's just to make them more relatable to younger viewers.
>>
>>23886619
>That's probably also why this show had new villains from the Youjakai who are actual demons
I don't think they were demons. Hell, the first-name Braves kind of implied they are human. Or are at least the souls of dead humans. And signs point to Ramaga being from the Divine World.

>>23886625
>Part me wonders if this is supposed to parallel the modernization of Japan, or if it's just to make them more relatable to younger viewers.
It could be a bit of that, but also, take into consideration from an in-universe perspective;

Arago had taken over the Yoja world for the last 1000 years. The Yoja world is a plane of existence where souls with unfinished business go to work their shit out to be able to pass on to the afterlife (or the Divine World as we now know it to be). The main reason why he was able to do that was because of the Jiryoshu under Badamon's command. Through their powers, they were able to create Arago's army. The soldiers of doom are basically the souls of the dead encased in suits of armor made to obey Arago's commands. For 1000 years, seemingly EVERY soul that was sent to the Yoja world was basically enslaved and mad part of his army. The influences from Earth that souls would've brought with them over the centuries just didn't get a chance to be established because everyone who would be sent there just got sucked into a suit of armor. After Arago's fall, this would've no longer been an issue as the Yoja world's proper function would've been restored and no longer stuck in the state Arago kept it in. And explains why Gai and the others were still operating with late 80s through 90s level tech and cultural influence. Because that's what had been coming since Arago's fall. And it was probably too established by the time Ramaga was sent there.
>>
>>23888008

They're all demons now. And it was the LAST Name Braves who used to be human. Btw, are you XMezumiiru? There's definitely no reason I'm asking. Nope, no reason at all.

Yes, thank you. I was getting them mixed up. It was the ones who Ramaga sacrifice first.
>Btw, are you XMezumiiru?
No. But after running the name through google it does bring up the YST wiki. Is this of dire consequence?
>>
>>23888104
Diffanon here, Christina/Mezu's an attempted e-celeb who apparently lurks here with the rest of her in-group from some YST/RW Discord. Might as well get it out there before any silly fujo drama occurs but maybe that's what keeps this alive.

She considers herself the Masho expert and is one of two fanfic ladies who run that wiki and act like everyone should go there for translations, and that editing Ikeda's name to Masashi will get you a paddling. They don't know their wiki was kind of a source of snark and clowning for some months before that deal, or at least don't want to admit to it.
>>
>>23888178
Oh, okay. I do use that wiki, but I'm completely removed from fandom drama. Like, I only even got back into the franchise because of Shin-den and rewatched Yoroiden as preparation. I hadn't touched the franchise since, like, 2001 when I last saw it on Cartoon Network. I only used that wiki because it uses the jap names instead of the westernized ones.
>>
>>23888104

>I'm not convinced

THIS kind of attitude is why I think you are her. No way the only thing that comes up when you search XMezumiiru is the wiki when it's AO3 that actually lists her username on the front page.
>>
>>23888205

You haven't touched the franchise since 2001 but apparently remembered enough about the lore to write whole paragraphs as rebuttals? And most of the stuff you write about about are not from either of the wikis so you came up with them on your own. Planning to perhaps add your lore there one day?
>>
>>23888215
>HIS kind of attitude is why I think you are her.
The Braves not looking like demons and thus not convincing me of them being demons makes me not who I am?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the complexities of the Shitennou AKA Arago's Four Mashou. Their significance is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of Buddhism and esoteric Eastern culture most of their lore will go over a typical fat annoying Western burgeroid's head while she's too busy claiming Shuu Rei Fuan is a size 16 just like Marilyn Monroe was. There's also Shuten's red hair, which is deftly woven into his design- that draws heavily from the mythical oni's red form for instance, and the famous Toshitada clans of the warring states. The true Mashou appreciator understands this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these men, to realize that they're not just hot bishonen- they say something deep about JAPAN. As a consequence people who cannot get the Mashou truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the historical importance of Rajura's missing eye, which itself is a cryptic reference to the famous Kuroda who was missing an eye. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those immature westoids scratching their heads in confusion as Sunrise's genius unfolded itself on their television screens every week. What fools... how I pity them. And yes by the way, I DO have a Mashou tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for mens' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

Pic related.

>>23888391
>Actually not just one point of discussion. It's the fact that you write like her, brought up the masho = heavenly kings fanfic idea a few times,
Because I got that shit from the wiki. After I rewatched yoroiden I went looking for more info and that's what I got because out of what I found it used the Jap names and I rabittholed that shit. Is all the info on that wiki inaccurate? Did I make the wrong choice in searching for information? There didn't seem like there was any reason to think that it wasn't.

I'd like to go straight to the info books if there are any translated, but I haven't found anything.
>>
>>23888417
I was hoping there'd be those books on certain scan sites, but all I've found is a short doujin parodying Shu's awakening where Seiji and Shu do the Nasty.

Thing is that much of the YST lore was gradual and worked out after the fact. The Demon Generals' names and exact birthdays weren't even in the post-series encyclopedia, but came about by Memorials 2. There's also evolving or contradictory settings about the boys, but since some of that didn't appear in the show it's more of a problem if you want to write fic.
>>
>>23888373

I thought she just put up whatever she translated, but didn't really dictate what anyone else did. While not involved with the wiki, she does use some of the info on there, as well as allow her own stuff to be used. I do remember her malding about "youja" being used interchangeably with "demon" though. Something about how it didn't capture the true meaning from Japanese or something.
>>
>>23888462
Yes, Irenkaferalkitty (Wikia owner) put Dawn's stuff up there, and she does have that tenuous connection in promoting their info and place. All goes back to sharing, not rocking boat, and people trying to get along while evidently there's been years-long frustration brewing under the surface. Also remember hearing she wasn't pressed about the infamous MTL corrections, and she did have those later revised translations they didn't use, but Irenka made some big "BREAKING NEWS FRIENDLY REMINDER UWU UGUU DON'T ALTER OUR TRANSLATIONS" after Mezu contacted her about some rogue kid.
>>
Anyway in regards to Yoroiden Samurai Troopers vs. Yoroi Shin Den info and what's all out there: You have to also use your best judgment on what kind of "Word of god" you should trust.

Koichi Inoue (Sunrise's planning room chief) edited the encyclopedia, which calls the boys "descendants" of those like Yukimura Sanada, Masamune Date, et.al. Sounds fine, right? Well, his wife Yoshie Kawahara (she wrote the greenlit YST proposal and some of the novels) insists the five were never meant to be called descendants and they only used the word "connections" to be sensitive to real-life Sanada family members and so on.

Either she's forgotten things with age and time passing, or husband and wife didn't agree on that particular word choice. You'll still find articles in magazines or some books that say "descendant" though.

Besides the books, there are many things kept to magazines like Animage, Animedia, Anime V, and Monthly OUT which would probably take somebody super-autistically dedicated to tracking down.

You're lucky these days you can follow Yoroi Shin Den magazine publicity easily, and I'm hoping people are keeping up on compiling all that. If books get published, even better.

If anything, the show being made now might have less examples of "continuity drift" if Muto didn't think that far or we only learn more as afterthoughts.

Guess we'll be seeing if anything gives more on the Braves, Ramaga, Sagume, or so that didn't appear or wasn't evident in the show.

Inb4 the four beastmen die one by one before half the cour

Come at me, heroes.
No more doubts, the second half is an outright war against the Celestial Realm. The question is, how does Gai even come back to life? Back in AMAIM, Bandai Namco Filmworks made a poor job in hiding the fact that Amou is still alive because of a heavily customized Kenbu, the Kenbu Zan. And with how there are no more of such kits in the last 30ML stream or the Shizuoka Hobby Show possibly because of how the Haoutei design wasn't well-received from first impressions, the future of this line is uncertain at this point.

4 warrior beasts + Ryusei is probably easier than going with the 8 Legions-style lineup the 90s sequel pitch had, though you wonder if that would've gotten Shurato comparisons.
>>
>>23890422
>What if Sagume winds up being linked to Kaosu some way
Presumably, Kaos was serving the Divine World given he was a monk. Now whether or not he was taking direction from her or some other deity is another question. I mean I'd like to think there's more than just her and she's acting totally independently of the other possible deities there may or may not be in the Divine World.
If she's linked with anyone, I think it's Ramaga. They have the same flower eye pattern.
>>23890427
>inb4 we get the oyaji troopers bumped off too
Eh, I think if they were interested in killing off the OGs they would've just done them dirty in the first season. Honestly, between the first name Baves still in the air and the Warriror Beasts + Ryusei, that makes for 10 opponents for 10 Troopers. But, if any group were to be taken out soon, my money would be on the Braves.
>>
>>23891208
That's why the original Troopers are still around: to train their new successors where their original choices failed. They may die, but possibly near the end, but with how Muto cruelly treats his side cast while not touching the old cast, we could see them live to the very end.
>>
>>23891286
Yeah I know some certain fans who wanted to think the leaks were AI fakes were also claiming they heard Ryo was going to die. If anything, he either lives long enough to adopt Gai or the two get to close things out as father and son.
>>
>>23891349
Certainly not Ryo. He's too iconic for that.

On a different note, do you think there's a chance we see the Dark Warlords again, or are they potentially killed by either the Demon Realm or Divine Realm offscreen for their own reasons?
>>
>>23891609
Not that anon, but it's my personal hope Kayura and the Demon Generals show up. They are, in my opinion, the biggest loose end between Yoroiden and Shin-den.
>are they potentially killed
It very well may end up being this. But I hope not. I want there to be a better explanation and even give them a chance to shine like how the OG troopers got their moment in season 1.
>>
>>23891620
Yeah... Rock Hara. Rajura is their manager because of his Armor of Illusion that can mask the identities of others, and Kayura might be the one person dragging the rest along.
>>
>>23891628
>Yeah... Rock Hara. Rajura is their manager because of his Armor of Illusion that can mask the identities of others
Rajura's illusions only work on the senses. They don't work on electronics. They don't even work on reflections. If they were Rock Hara they'd show up as themselves in the recordings.
>>
>>23891637
Yeah, Rock Hara might just be moe girls thrown in for the sake of it. Some anon, probably the same you're talking to, pushed the illusion idea before but someone else suggested they could be Kayura's daughters.

Now, if Kayura returned to the mortal world like she did in the later light novels or the sequel manga, she'd age normally and would be in her 40s now. She could either have been hiding out there or still in the Youjakai.
>>
>>23891657
>Now, if Kayura returned to the mortal world like she did in the later light novels or the sequel manga, she'd age normally and would be in her 40s now
That, theoretically, would make sense. But at the same time would make the whole ending with her and the other three totally empty since they said they didn't belong in the modern era. And I doubt there'd be enough trouble in the Yoja World so soon to force them to seek refuge on Earth. With Arago gone there'd be nowhere near as much opposition as whatever demons there would be that were formerly in Arago's service would basically be such minor warlords that the Demon Generals aught to be able to handle since, allegedly, their armors are in their element in the Yoja World like the Troopers are on Earth. Especially with Kayura's aid with Kaos' shakujo.
>>
>>23891682
Yes, there's quite the in and out of universe reasons why it'd make more sense for them to be there, and why it's so glaring they're not. It'd be a shame if Muto continued the "who cares? anyway" process of Hamatsu and Ikeda, but would be like some unfortunate pattern by now.

>It'd be a shame if Muto continued the "who cares? anyway" process of Hamatsu and Ikeda
That's a very weird take for them to have. The Demon Generals arguably had the cooler looking armors and powers compared to the Troopers. No idea on the consensus from the fujo crowd. But I myself even caved and ordered an Anubis figure some months ago. Which I haven't gotten a status update on. At this point I'm becoming convinced I was scammed out of $300.
>>
>>23891686
So the fates of the Dark Warlords are outright being killed offscreen because Ramaga usurped their supposed benevolent rule? Yeah, that's unfortunate.
>>
>>23891689
Damn, and those figures are decent quality too. As far as seiyuu, I know Yanada's dead but the other three are still around. Even so, if they'd wanted to have some ghost Shuten pop up, they already recast Seiji and Touma. It's just a matter of if there's any room or intent at all for them anywhere.
>>
>>23891692
Assuming the showrunners didn't just retcon them out of existence? Possibly.
>>
>>23891696
The light novelization already killed off all four of the guys too, not just Shuten. Not all media was so forgiving, and you'd have to wonder if they'd pull some revisionist ending like that if not the "somehow, they got taken out and you didn't see it".
>>
>>23891620
> give them a chance to shine like how the OG troopers got their moment in season 1.

You mean just Ryo. The other four didn't do anything unique. Muto doesn't seem to care about any of the characters from the original aside from him.
>>
They've been trying to push Kayura and the warlords aside since the OVAs in the 90s. Sure, they're popular, but their stories are pretty much done. It makes me wonder if there was any regret from the showrunners in creating them in the first place.
>>
>>23891783
I mean, adding up all I've seen from what raws go around and barring anything fans haven't yet dug up from the magazine coverage from 1988-1991, it does seem to go like that. The Shuten Doji novel and cassette were probably the answer and last word from the Sunrise side to any fan complaints, which there supposedly were some from their dedicated fujoshi.

>Hamatsu hinting Kayura and the remaining generals may be dead with that realm having been tied to Arago and him being gone
>Hamatsu initially wanting to set the 2nd OVA in a Yojakai but not the one we knew
>Ikeda claiming new Yojakai that had nothing to do with the old one were threatening to be created by human suffering and rage in the world now (Nasuti's mission is to suggest peaceful solutions to quell that)
>Books like the Daijiten are a little more hopeful but say it's basically the four's duty to protect the realms now (which OVAs kind of nullify)
>Kawahara leaving Kayura as the only survivor of that side in the novels and having her bury the yoroi orbs that once belonged to the generals alongside the Troopers' discarded orbs
>Rejected 90s sequel having Kayura but an all-new quartet of guys led by the one the manga chapters showcased
>The Comic Bombom manga by Hoshino having Kayura as the only survivor (seeing a pattern at least) of that group
>>
>>23891779
You know there's not too much to talk or speculate about with them and more of a waiting game when a lot of the focus got laser pointed on if Shu/Shuu/Xiu? is balding or not.
>>
If there is zero mention of the warlords or Kayura at all, I think the "Shin" part of Shin Den can't apply to this show. In that it's not the true armoured legend sequel because of all the loose ends.
>>
>>23891814
>>23891783
All this talk about Kayura being the sole survivor... but I also think she herself might have been killed by either Ramaga or Sagume as one less loose end. If she were still in hiding, why hasn't she even appeared when the Divine Realm is making their move to purge the Human Realm?
>>
>>23891981
I guess we'll know if they address that at all, or if any more cour 2-specific model sheet leaks emerge.

They already used Katsuki as Kaito's grandma, not sure if they'd have her do a quick Kayura line in a flashback or leave such a character silent.
>>
They could appear in the very last episode just like the original troopers. Which of course wouldn't mean much since there would be no build up or reason to care about them throughout.
>>
>>23890401
Shimei and Gaimei look more like Demon Realm residents than the demon people we encountered.
>>
>>23892018
It also makes you wonder if this was developed with any possible open ending or not.
>>
>>23892683

I can't imagine this sequel doing well enough to go over the 24 episodes that were already planned.
>>
>>23891779

>when the Divine Realm is making their move to purge the Human Realm?
Until we know otherwise, my bet is that it's just Sagume acting on her own without the other dieties' knowledge. They seem to be going with some Buddhist themes with the Divine World and there are multiple dieties in Buddhism, so she's probably one of many and she's ambitious. Cause, I mean, think about it. Why would she appropriate Ryusei's soul instead of someone like Kaos, who was a powerhouse in life. My thinking is that taking someone like Kaos' soul would've been too high profile and got the other dieties' attention. But one, short lived Samurai Trooper, is probably not so much.
>>
>>23892928
There's also the possibility that Ryusei was originally from their realm like Gai and was isekai'd to the human realm to help the Samurai Troopers as part of Sagume's plan
>>
>>23892971
Gai isn't originally from the Yoja World though. He's Human. They beat us over the heads in the first two or so episodes that he was always Human. He would've never been able to have become a Samurai Trooper if he was a Demon because they lack Human virtues and Ramaga always intended for him to become one for the Haotei. He was always a Human who was duped into thinking he was a Demon. I would say he was raised, but considering the Yoja World either slows down or straight up halts Human aging, it really kinda kills that. It makes you think that maybe he was just abducted within a year or so before the series started and got mind-wiped considering he's supposed to actually be 15 years old.
>>
>>23892990
Gai's human, but he was probably raised in the divine realm first. Did you watch the trailer for the second season that just came out? Gai as a child was in the divine realm with the ten braves and there's a part where he's turning into a demon like Ryusei. So I doubt he was tricked into thinking he was a demon
>>
>>23892997
>Gai as a child was in the divine realm with the ten braves and there's a part where he's turning into a demon like Ryusei
I saw the Braves cowering beneath what I assume to be Ramaga. Didn't notice Gai. But upon just rewatching it, yep, that's Gai. Be that the case then I don't think Ryusei is from there. It just seems kinda weird if he was, got killed, and then basically got a do-over. There's probably a word or phrase for how I disagree with this, but it's not coming to me.
>>
This begs the question: can one go from human to demon to divine being and back again? Can characters just switch between the three? Is there even any distinction at all? We have some examples of this already: last name ten braves (human -> demon), Ryusei (human -> demon -> human -> divine being), and now presumably Gai (divine being -> demon -> human), first name ten braves (divine being -> demon)
>>
>>23893031
>This begs the question: can one go from human to demon to divine being and back again?
I should think no. But, perhaps like what we saw with Ryusei is that it was a very accelerated take on a Human becoming a Demon, because the biggest example of a Human becoming a Demon was Arago. But one could say that his was a true transformation as he had so much hatred and negativity in him that he became one, since those things are supposedly how they come into being in the Yoja World. But, his being one for over 1000 years could also be a factor. He was a Demon for far longer than he was Human and so he long ago may had reached a point of no return and was completely irreversible.

And as far as divine beings go, until we know more, I don't think you become one at all. You either come into existence a divine being or you don't. Ryusei is just a Human soul that may essentially be a dead equivalent to Kayura in that he's forced into service. If he was a divine being, he'd probably have face markings like the Warrior Beasts do and or the flower pattern eyes like Sagume and Ramaga.

And as for Gai, I think he always was just straight up living Human. Never a true Demon, not a divine being or even a dead Human soul. If he was either of those things I don't think he would've aged.
>>
>>23892792
Same here desu!! It's kind of weird nobody's interviewed Yoichi Fujita, he went from primarily cynical comedies to well, this thing.
>>
>>23892928
At least that's fitting what they'd tried doing with versions before, but doubtful it'd be as successful.

>Shitennou kind of theming in og (even if not 100%)
>Eight Legions in Shin Yoroiden
>Divine beasts for Yoroi Shinden
>>
>>23893138
I think he knows they fucked up at least a little bit and is letting Muto handle the interviews instead. He didn't ask to be assigned this show, but he was responsible for how it turned out
>>
>>23893170
Does make you wonder what happened in his jump from Pierrot to Sunrise. He's vagued on how he quit Mr. Osomatsu because it was time to move on, amidst how it seemed to be increasingly watered down post-season 2 and its season 4 by a new guy got a lot of vocal SNS backlash. Sunrise should be keeping note of that for this too.
>>
>>23893173
They might, they might not. After the entire show ends, there's pretty much nothing left for Samurai Troopers. They've made it difficult to go back and address a lot of the issues with the shinden sequel due to how it was structured so I don't think Sunrise is putting much effort into it.
