Right now the most /m/ thing I've been playing consistently is Ace Combat, since 8's coming out I decided to replay every game. It's been fun. I have been playing a lot of Vital Shell, which is a Vampire Survivors style roguelike featuring fantasy mecha. It's fun for what it is and it was only 6 bucks so I've more than gotten my money's worth.
>>23851632>Playing.Ninjawarriors Again on SNES.I'm stuck on Stage 5 with Ninja on Hard.>Looking forward.I'm out of the loop with upcoming games, honestly. I may try playing Brigador again once I save up some cash for a proper rig.
>>23851632I'll be getting Brigador Killers because that one seems to expand on Brigador in a good way all-around, but Scramble Vice is probably worth dropping some cash on as well.>project landsword(TBA)I want to like it, but it's just a bad Bullet Heaven-type game at this point. Seems like Mech Havoc is the better top-down mecha shooter in anything other than the illustration of brown anime tomboy pilots.Steel Bounty has very mid mech designs, but the overall package sounds promising.
>>23851632>Brigador killers(DEMO AVAILABALE)Motherfucker, apparently it's basically Syndicate with giant robots now?
>>23851632If we're talking about upcoming or recent releases, may I shill Chaos Front?https://store.steampowered.com/app/2770330/Chaos_Front/I loved Chaos Galaxy 1 and 2, which were passion projects from one Chinese guy putting the old-school Koei Romance of the Three Kingdoms games in space with mecha, and Chaos Front seems to be more of a character-driven RPG which focuses on a single mercenary company. The pixel art/sprites look like theyre gonna be a big improvement on the first ones, its been fun watching the dev (Han Zhiyu) improve.
>>23854347I've been playing a lot of Nuclear Option recently. It's not quite as insane as Ace Combat but the nukes are definitely an option.
>>23855333I'm very interested in Nuclear Option but I need a better PC so I can run it perfectly, flight games aren't kind to FPS drops. I'm also looking forward to whatever they do for a campaign, right now I know it has some pre-made missions but it's by and large a sandbox to fuck around with weirdo future planes and helos.
>>23854525No, and I don't know how you got that idea. It's following the progression of the Strike series.
>>23851632Brigador Killers demo looking good
>>23858614Played the demo too.I love the contrast between Killers and the OG game. On the first, you're a financed corporate goon given a custom armament and gear paid on the SNC's dime, but on the second, you're an on-your-own terrorist who's gotta source all your gear on-site or on the black market.I also like the Cendrillon mounted laser, that shit is 100% the Black Hand radiation gun with the serial numbers filed off
>>23855333For a big Ace Combat fan is this a good alternative to a drought of titles?
>>23851632>Brigador Killers>Kaiju Cleanup>Kriegsfront Tactics>OMEGA PHENEX COMMENCED PROJECT SIX>The Scramble Vice>70s-style Robot Anime Geppy-X>AC6 downloadedthe OMEGA PHENEX playtest was huge I'm really looking forward to the full game
>>23851632I've been playing mecharashi and heard it was supposed to be a front mission game originally. Where should I start with it? If it's the first game should I play the original with TL patch, the DS remaster, or the remake?
>>23861400If you're into multiplayer then absolutely, if you're mostly interested in singleplayer then put it on your wishlist but hold off on buying it. The fundamentals are all there but it's still early access and right now there isn't much content outside of multiplayer.
>>23851632I am hopeful for Brigador Killers.
>>23851632I still wonder how they're going to do "Kill Precursor James" or if they're going to do it at all. Canonically he does exist but how do you do justice to the spooky skeleton who cleared 39 districts in a varlet?
>>23851632surprised armed frame isn't out yet, it looked finish and i'm pretty sure i saw all the parts listed in the steam description
>>23851632oh also bounty star is out already

>>23868940>We've also confirmed that he's not dead, though I don't have the link handy. Oh, I see HD mentioned it here. That's about it, though - exists, not dead.Having to dig into the Steam forums to find that tidbit of lore is naff, for a second I was going to question if there's any confirmation to James existing.Personal pet theory is that there's some neural jack fuckery and that the original human James is dead-dead (perhaps his spooky skellyton is even entombed within his mech) and the mech itself is James either through 1-to-1 copying his mind or roughly imitating learned behaviours over the course of James' service, becoming a headless horseman type figure along the way.How (and if) he got contacted by and then pulled out of Solo Nobre by the SNC is I guess something for Brigador Killers to tackle eventually.
>>23851632Speaking of Brigador Killers though, oh my GOD I fucking hate the NOSPOL armored trucks so goddamn muchWHY ARE THEY SO STRONG THEY'RE USING GUNS CHAMBERED IN FUCKING .22LRI'M GOING TO DRUNK DRIVE UNDER THE INFLUENCE IN A SCHOOL ZONE
>>23854544I went and tried the demo. It was surprisingly hard. Played a lot like SRW. Looks really promising. The Q3 2025 release announcement at the end of the demo got a good chuckle out of me. Are Chaos Galaxy 1 and 2 similar in terms of gameplay? If they're more spreadsheet manager than battle simulator I'll prob just wait for chaos front to release.
>>23854544>Chaos FrontSounds more like a 40K title.
>>23870312>Kuiper WandererPlayer character looks like Shinji and Kensuke did the fusion dance.
>>23870312There is more.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ULVeJtfZwwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJgWOGKN5UUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWPumHcy7Do (https://strix128.itch.io/assault-mecha)https://store.steampowered.com/app/3345550/Tactical_Annihilation/https://store.steampowered.com/app/2165280/RAGINGSTRIKE/https://store.steampowered.com/app/3872550/Rhea_of_the_Remnant/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqtRwO_bVfk>>23875095Now I see it.
>>23872817>The Q3 2025 release announcement at the end of the demo got a good chuckle out of me.Yeah, was that supposed to be a joke or something?
>>23851632>omega phenex(TBA)>start game>camera isnt centered>no option to change itthanks i hate it. pretty good playtest though
>>23875806>But wait, there's more!FTFY
kinoi hope they make a sequel
>>23851632Playing Titanfall 2 and armored core 6 only "new" games where mechs feel somewhat like giant robots.
>>23855333What's that designated?
>>23878027Looks like something out of SSR.
>>23864727You wanna play Front Mission? You can start with the SFC game but if you want, you can pick 1st on PSX. I feel playing the original will let you appreciate the game more, but 1st has a second campaign from the enemy's (USN) perspective. The NDS remake is there if you have issues with load times on the Playstation, but the small resolution can be a huge downside. At least it was for me.The remaster is the 'ideal' version nowadays, but I didn't touch it because the 3D models weren't for me.
>>23883358Also, FM1 is pretty rough around the edges when it comes to gameplay and this was kept in the remaster; battles are mostly softening targets with missiles (the only ranged attack alongside grenades) and dogpiling them one by one at close range. If you're stuck and not feeling like completing FM1, jump into 3 that has a more forgiving battle system, reaching its peak at 5. Don't be afraid of using a guide to understand mechanics like weight/output ratio and skills.
>>238833693 sucks and 5's combat is especially bad.
>>23878027need more BLAME-like settingsjust finished Bleak Faith and it was pretty coolLorn's Lure is really goodsome kind of survival game in that kind of environment would be great, scavenging around and avoiding big robots
>>23851632>what are you playingthe great battle 3 a lot recently>what are you hyped foridk i just play old stuff man, some translations of gundam games would be nice
>>23854347>/m/ thing>Ace Combatwhat about no
>>23885262Ace Combat (and jets in general) are mecha you fucking retard
>>23884463not mecha but there's always https://store.steampowered.com/app/265690/NaissanceE/
>>23885262They have fantasy aircraft and superweapons. It qualifies.
>>23851632Ironwing Valiant, Valkyria Chronicles but with a robot instead of a tank, yes please.
>>23851632wow, look at all that (indie)shit!
>>23889029It's an AC clone with flipped AC assets dropped into cartoon levels, and it seemingly plays like any of the free mech vs fan games. Low effort shit.
>>23851632https://store.steampowered.com/app/3286730/BATTLERCORE_TEAM_BLAZER/Topdown mech battles with merc management. It's kinda janky but I love it. Smoke and dust from gunfire obscure your view. You can get out and run around on foot. You can ignore the H elements.
>>23889046Can't be that much worse on the whole than what the Triple-A industry's reduced itself to.
>>23889046I'll take several indie games over having to wait years for a overpromised and expensive AAA game.
>>23877897Alright, then!We do it your way.>>23875806Just a second, I'm not done!https://store.steampowered.com/app/3973060/NEUROXUS/https://store.steampowered.com/app/3434530/Mechanized_Corps_Rebirth/https://store.steampowered.com/app/4184160/ANRS__Heroes_Assemble/https://store.steampowered.com/app/2440860/Reinforced_Machine/https://store.steampowered.com/app/4307930/MECH_OPS_2092/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GpHi9HyIjshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8hVNYbOo-s
