Fang of the Sun Dougram is THE BEST Takahashi show. Everyone owes it to himself or herself to watch it
Already did. Layzner is next on my list, but first I'm watching Yamato because of autism.
Yessir agreed
>>23874871I still want Dougram to have a map range attack of jumping like super mario\but yeah there's a lot to have fun with in Dougram and everybody should check it out
>>23874871Dougram was great, although I still hate the trope where they kill off a character only to introduce a new character who looks exactly the same.
>>23874937was probably a voiceactor issue
>>23874937>the tropeShut the fuck up.
I thought it was fantastic until 40-60. Did they change writers halfway through? The ending was fine but something changed in the production and it felt so tiring to get through
>Scream like a lunatic for a solid minute to get soldiers to shoot their own superior>It actually worksIs this possible natty?
>>23874871I would, but it hasn't gotten a stateside release.
>>23875243wow anon if only you were on some kind of integrated network that allowed you to circumvent geographical restrictions
>>23874937I really don't understand why they did this beyond shock value, it's not like it foreshadowed any of the other regulars dyingalso the replacement is a far worse character
>>23874871I find the artstyle and character designs of this really unappealing
>>23875105
>>23875105I think one of my favorite parts of Dougram is how Lecoque has all these plans-within-schemes-within-plots and it just keeps ending up random shit he pulls out of his ass that actually works>>23875059I vaguely recall chatter to the effect the sponsors wanted it extended so they bogged down the war, which really wasn't _that_ unrealistic either>>23875588I think they're supposed to look like normal sorta ugly people, but then QUALITY makes it look like some manner of potato monsters have replaced humanity half the time
>>23875629>but then QUALITY makes it look like some manner of potato monsters have replaced humanity half the timeI herd you talking shit about Hulk Crinn.
>>23875588The only one who looks out of place to me is Canary, who's supposed to be able to blend in as an unnassuming pretty girl but has a wierdly gaunt face that makes her look either really old or shrivelled up.Beyond that the major failing of the artstyle is that Deloyerans are meant to be visually distinct from people from Earth
>>23875680When I started watching the show it made me wonder whether 1970s Japan was in a famine, almost everybody in the show has hollow cheeks. very different from the modern reality in first world countries and even third world countries.I say the art style is part of the charm of the show. And the music is pretty unique, and the songs are heartfelt
>>23875664Fang Of The North Sun was a great show
>>23875722Post BMI fatty.
>>23874937Srungle did that twofold, only the new girl was still voiced by Fumi Hirano and the old one's coma was never resolved so you guess she died too.
>>23875562AFAIK it was very literally and directly a voice actor issue. There was no foreshadowing to do because they had to somewhat unexpectedly handle Festo's VA dipping out, though I cannot remember exactly why. Japan as far as I know is very autistic about voice acting in this way, which is why they couldn't just keep him and have someone else voice him.
>>23875588racist-ass Feddie hating on the Deloyans
>>23876027Apparently Srungle was given a full two cour extension because the show was quite popular but Suzuoki was too in demand as a voice actor for him to stick around (although he pops up as TWO more guys that heroically sacrifice themselves later). They vaguely addressed swapping Sexy for Dolly in an issue of Animage because they wanted a different character who be seen as attractive without getting naked all the time. I assume it was actually parents who were upset their kids were saying "SEXY" too much from watching the show.
>>23875629>the sponsors wanted it extendedthat might have been why it felt like such a slog. 1-40 felt like it would have actually succeeded in being greater than gundam but the 'extension' ruined it completely
>>23876126>Suzuoki was too in demand as a voice actor for him to stick aroundSuzuoki was that popular and great of a voice actor?
>>23876132As far as I can tell the merchandise sales weren't great but the TV network loved it. Remember that its replacement, Galvion, even started as a Srungle II project. >>23876141You couldn't swing a dead cat without him popping up in an anime or a dub of a foreign series. And that was before Gundam came back and Saint Seiya got started.
>>23875832
>>23876132>>23876172That would have meant like a quarter of the show was the Garcia Platoon and FUCK that
