Do you like Blue Gender? Why or why not?
I like it. I thought the world was believable and enjoyed the evolution of Marlene and Yuji's characters.
>>
I prefer the pink gender myself.

I'm a big fan of starship troopers so yes
>>
>>23886034
I don't honestly remember anything beyond that. So it might be worth an episode or two.

Probably a 7/10. It's alright, not completely solid, but good overall. The setting was somewhat bland but decent, and the atmosphere was actually very good, very oppressive and distressing. The dynamic between the protagonists works very well, it's not abrupt and feels natural, effectively conveying a sense of warmth and humanity contrasted with the horror and cynicism that surrounds them.

really like it but understand that it's not for everyone

Wish it were more popular. Cant believe people get so up there on but about an environmentalist parable

I liked it too.

Never seen before. Will probably give a shot. What should I expect going in?

You should expect a tv show named Blue Gender.

Might just be nostalgia from Adult Swim but I really liked it. The ending came out of left field IMO but like >>23886110 said the way Yuji and Marlene's relationship developed was really satisfying.

Feel that the show fell off once they made it to space. Before that it felt like survivor horror. Then Yuji became a boring God and Marlene became a damsel. The surviving characters they met on Earth just never came back and everything in space fell apart far too fast after they left.

I had it in my backlog for 2 decades and always figured it was guaranteed good to great, but I got to it a few months ago and it was a huge disappointment. It got completely dragged by the main character being on the shortlist for worst protags of all time
>starts out as one of those guys that screeches and curls up in a ball when he sees any movement
>think "he just needs one of those gotta-step-up moments and it'll be fine"
>gets such a moment with all his rescuers getting wiped
>nope still screeching and curling up in a ball
>gets another with learning the mech
>well he's not curling up now, but still a cowardly whiny bitch
>gets another when his new bff dies
>nope still a cowardly whiny bitch
>gets another when his newly adopted little sister character gets killed
>nope still a cowardly whiny bitch
>gets another when he has sex
>wait, that worked! He's FINALLY tolerable!
>it lasts one episode
>his character abruptly gets completely overwritten and he now is just permaseething that there's a better pilot out there
>that lasts all the way until the final ep
>the end

The cast of characters really get fleshed out in episode 2
>>
Should have been 12 episodes shorter.
