He can recognize some (not all) bad things makes an earnest effort to stop it, but he never champions any specific cause, does not put forth ideas to build. He stops things from sharply getting worse but never fights for things to get better, and in doing that he is fighting for things to rot slowly. A total waste of his great potential and tool of the federation.
>>23902922It's really not Amuro's fault, he was written at a time of first the potential new age Optimism of the 70s and then ended at the End of History in the 90s, Amuro's character now just looks terrible because said ideals from back then aged terribly and Hathaway is a well written reaction that mirrors the actual reaction of the young to the last dozen decades
