It's been almost two years since the release of Gundam Breaker 4. Do you guys think we might see some kind of news regarding the next Breaker game eventually? What sort of things do you hope get changed or improved upon for the next entry in the series? What are your hopes for potential new additions to the roster for a hypothetical Gundam Breaker 5? Will its story be a direct sequel to the events of GB4, or will it be its own thing that ignores any and all references to the previous title?

I really hope they make the missions feel more natural. No teleporting all over the place and the enemies should be tied to what you're actually facing in the story rather than adding random waves beforehand.

I definitely miss actually moving from point A to point B on maps to get to the next mission area that GB3 had going on. I kinda hope that they build upon the whole Paint Pattern aspect to customizing Gunpla--folks could accomplish some serious wizardry with clever applications of paint patterns in GB4, so I hope that the next game takes it further; maybe let players create their own paint patterns or something? God knows I've spent longer than I would have liked tweaking patterns so I could have marginally better color separation on Gunpla parts than what they have natively without using patterns, and even then, it's not always perfect.

For customization Bamco should really just lift features that have been a part of Soul Calibur for the past few games.
The "Tag" and "Pattern" features are some of the most interesting and versatile features in the genre and it's baffling that they aren't seen more frequently. Like at their most basic it's like, "what if you want a Gunpla where you have a red racing stripe down the arms?" you can't do that because you can only put decals on specific areas and you can only deform them within certain parameters, and you can't change their colors. They could just lift everything from Soul Calibur directly. Those games also provide things like scars, which would make sense as a feature for the people who like the "dirtied" look.
Allowing to change the color of particle effects also seems relatively obvious. Is there a compelling reason why you shouldn't be allowed to have a blue beam zanber, or GN Drive leaving behind black particles, or a Twin Buster Rifle with red shots?
Other than that, I think just separating parts into more categories would be convenient. Shoulders and arms could be separated, and hip from leg. Oh, but I didn't really end up loving how much 4 focused on asymmetrical arms as its huge gimmick. I think that if we split "shoulders" and "waist" as new sections we could keep asymmetrical arms but should make it so that "arms" and "shoulders" are still singular parts, just add in a button to instantly mirror them.

The simulator aspects should be increased, they should incorporata cockpit gameplay like senjou no kizuna, even with a single generic type of cockpit, and they should organize simulation of famous battles from the series as 'what-if' scenarios for your gunpla. The customization now is good. Everything else is low quality. Its strange, you can use customization exhaustively such as making a type 01 leo using wing gundam beam rifle etc, but its not satisfying because the animations are of such low quality and the physics are of such low quality you don't get a sense of anything happening. A new game with improved graphics and physics and more elaborate missions isnt just a nice wish its essential for a sequel to have a purpose.

because the game's inspired by build fighters (kind of?) and it's broad enough to fit AUs which aren't grounded enough for cockpit views.
I don't think they'd ever swap to a simulator-type game but I do agree with your complaints. Like even if you're anime action slop you can still make your mecha feel more mecha or just make the physics less terrible in general
>>
>>23904291
Honestly yeah, I think more folks would have been more excited about equipping different arms if they could equip mirrored versions of the parts of an existing asymmetrical Gunpla. It's easy enough to finagle a Zaku II that has two shoulder shields through creative use of a shoulder shield builders part on one of the arms, but you're comparatively shit outta luck if you want a Zaku that has two spiked shoulder armors, since there's no spiked shoulder armor builders part for a similar result.

I don't think upping the realism is the right call for something like the Breaker series. That being said, it'd be fantastic if the next game had the budget to do scenario missions where you could play through iconic moments throughout several different Gundam anime--that's always a big draw in several Gundam games, being able to fight alongside your favorite characters in some way.

Been having quite a lot of fun building designs... But here's a couple things I want to see:

- Mirroring of Arms/Use a R / L arm to the other side. Adding the ability to use two different arms was certainly nice... But since there are so many non symmetrical designs, sometimes I want two of the same arms on something that had 2 different. Like the Kampfer or say a Zaku/ZAKU, or Sword/Launcher Strike

- Making Shoulder armor and Skirt armor separate parts. So many times I liked the shoulder, but hated the forearm... Or like the leg, but disliked the skirt armor. I think they are significant enough design points to make them different.

- Allowing for more parts to be builder parts... Like all Weapons. Sometime you want to mount a beam saber or rifle on a backpack, leg or arm.

- More slots/builder parts. - Of course, the easiest and obvious request.

- Better control over parts positioning. Some parts still do not move/turn into the space or way I want.

- More "patterns" or custom decal options. Like just adding shapes of color/strips where-ever you want.

- Remove option equipment from parts. Like fin funnels from back packs, or shields/weapons from arms and legs. Let me have "naked" parts.

I was with you until that last point. If you don't want to use a part's included Option Equipment, there is literally nothing forcing you to do so. Agreed on everything else you said, though.

So, what's everyone's wishlist for Gundam Breaker 5, as far as possible roster additions go? since GB4 advertised the base roster as reaching "over 250 Gunpla" or whatever, it'd be very easy for them to advertise GB5 as having "over 300 Gunpla" and having anywhere from an even 300 or higher.
>>
>>23904630
He wants to do shit like use the Nu's backpack without having the funnels. He isn't talking about the actual moves.
>>
>>23904671
Personally, I'm not a fan of artificial roster bloat like that. I'd settle for being able to turn off more than one specific component or group of components on a part to achieve a similar effect, though--sometimes, even a part that allows you to remove a component still ends up looking too busy otherwise.
>>
>>23904683
Isn't that what he is asking for? The option to just toggle off specific sections of a part?
>>
>>23904686
Hard to tell; could be both or neither. Anyhow, there's a lot in terms of customization that GB5 could improve upon that the original post touches upon that I'm vibing with. More patterns or custom decals, or even custom paint patterns like >>23904278 suggested would be kinda dope, depending on how in-depth a potential custom decal/paint pattern feature would end up being.

If I had to add to such an idea, though, I'd like to be able to superimpose the surfaces of a particular part over the pattern editor, kinda like how some 3D modeling programs allow you to edit the textures of a model and you can see what part of the texture goes where on the actual model as you edit the texture. Like... I wouldn't want to adjust the actual textures of a Gunpla part, I just want to have an idea of where the paint goes as I'm making a custom paint pattern so there's less guesswork involved.

On paper the difference between an arena w/ waves vs a corridor w/ preset enemy locations shouldn't be THAT different, but goddamn if it didn't in reality make a huge fucking difference. Battle in 4 was such a significant downgrade from 3 because of it. Easily my biggest issue with the game, even more than the worst-Builders-but-even-worse plot
>>
>>23904630

It's not that I don't want to USE the options, it's that I want to use the main parts basic design, but I don't want the extra added weapon on there in the design I am making.

Like the Sturm Fausts on the Kampfer's legs, or the 3 Missile pods on the Pale Riders legs. I want to use the legs for a different design, but don't want those parts on there. They are basically builder parts that I cannot remove.

I want the G04 and G05 Gundams, both their normal and [Bst] loadouts, I want the Delta plus and its variants, and I want a bunch more grunt suits and Build series Gunpla. It's genuinely fucking baffling that GB4 released and we STILL haven't gotten the Star Build Strike outside of its appearance in the mobile game.

Really, a lot of what I want to see in a new Breaker game for consoles and PC already showed up in the mobile game, and it's fucking stupid as hell that we got multiple variations of the Ver.Ka versions of the Hi-Nu and the ZZ, instead of dedicating those DLC slots to literally anything else.

IS GBM COMING BACK??? PLEASE SAY NO SYKE
>>
>>23906099
I honestly doubt it--releasing a new Gundam Breaker Mobile gacha game would cut into potential profits for G Gen Eternal.

Honestly though, GBM had a LOT of stuff in its roster that'd look slick as hell if they were touched up for a proper console game debut.
>>
>>23905297
God, the plot... it 100% feels like Bandai executives taking the reins on this whole project, as yet another instance of those crusty old fucks trying to convince everyone that the Metaverse thing was a good idea, and inadvertently wasting the entirety of the pre-established setting that GB3 and the mobile game share.

frankly, cafeteria food should remain in the cafeteria. you shouldn't have to eat anything you don't want to acknowledge
