I think it's fair to say Gundam 00 (season 1 mostly) is the most politically loaded entry in the franchise. No other series in the franchise drenches itself with as much imagery and direct commentary on the geopolitics of the time the series was being made. Seed and Unicorn sort of go for the same thing of being inspired by the war on terror but I don't think either are as explicit as this. From the series being centered around conflicts in the Middle East to direct parallels to real life events like having their own Uruzgan wedding bombing. My question is, how well do you think 00 handles its political commentary?
>>23903744I think it does it very well. the masacres, the violence, the oppression all very real, and of course the people who don't care at all. my favorite episodes are in season 2 when the elevator gets taken over by an anti-a-laws group.I also appreciate that the Sino-Russians aren't depicted as soulless orc villains just there to make NATO look good. You should give Fang of the Sun Dougram a viewing.
>DUDE I'M FUCKING CRAZY LMAOIt's shit.
>>23904107I think you meant to say Union instead of NATO for an in-universe perspective
>>23904118Other than that yeah Dougram is another great series that dives in politics in particular
Slightly offtopic but I don't get the hate for the movie. The execution could've been a bit better yeah but conceptually it is the perfect followup to the series as humanity's first test in making contact with an alien race.
