What do you think of Yanase Takayuki as a mechanical designer?

>>23910277Their artstyles are nothing alike lol. Ebikawa has different approach to the usage of blocky shapes and panel lines. Not to mention Yanase has much bigger range instead of staying inside his safezone, he designed Drossel and EMS-04 Zudah.

I like the Valhawk and all the designs related to it at least, they're quite good, Valzacard being a little too visually derivative of the Raftclans aside
I liked the engineering of the dolls in Xenoblade X. He did a good job with the weight classes having unique ground forms and integrating the wheels/treads into their silhouette. Well thought out simple transformations. Nothing revolutionary, but really solid work. Which I guess is how I feel about the dude as well.

Out of curiosity I checked this guy's work and most of the robots I like were designed by him. Particularly the 00 suits.And then I learned he designed my favorite shinki. Now I really want to purchase a physical copy of that artbook.
