FantastiqueMoi arigatuuu
blessed work, anon
I hate Patlabor!
I want them to show that Goto and Shinobu had lots of babies, preferably one of them being part of the cast.
>>23915853 oh i didn't catch the previous thread hitting bump limit you should really have some thread questions for this sort of thing: >thoughts in general? >do you have any favorite members of the new SV2 so far? >CG good or bad? >any thoughts on the new labor designs (crabman spinner, SR-88 monocoque, AV-17 sentinel, HL-25 hercules powered, etc.) >favorite returning character so far?
>>23916363 you know goto got cucked right
Don't reply, just report and ignore.
spoilered to be safe, but most of these were shown off either in the file 1 episodes or in the opening
>the tsuchigumo labor in episode 3 is an EX-13 from the manga with a bodykit think there's any chance of seeing these in EZY? it's kind of a weird nod and i think it's cool how they dogwalked the samsons
>>23916362They're doing this to me tomorrow
>>23908216>>23908222>>23908231>>23908250More on this. I looked into it a little bit and apparently in the manga the Dolphin is actually in SHI's civilian lineup and is used in both film-making and construction. The construction variant of the Dolphin looks like the Boxer's older brother
I want to see granny Kanuka. I hope she aged well.
Despite being mid-30s I realised my big mistake of never actually watching Patlabor, only knowing it off-hand and the designs. Now I have watched OVA and movie 1 and 2. It's so fucking good. Onwards for the rest before EZY Is the live action also required viewing
>>23916554>requiredGo back to twitter with your gay watch order.
>>23916554 live action is not required and is mostly reruns of previous plotlines i would say maybe watch a handful of the tv episodes first since that's the closest thing vibes-wise
>>23916554EZY is explicitly set after the events of TV/OVA2, though it also contains plenty of references to other material.Except for the live-action. EZY basically exists because most of Headgear didn't want the live-action show to be the last word on Patlabor.
>>23916554I'm in my 40s and saw everything but TV. This is a show you are meant to enjoy. Nothing is fucking required.
>>23916568>EZY basically exists because most of Headgear didn't want the live-action show to be the last word on PatlaborNo, shut the fuck up.
>>23916573Anon there are multiple interviews about this. And not passing mentions easily mistranslated.
>>23916575Stop trying to derail every thread into Oshii/Ito drama.
>>23916579Providing context as to why an entry is not required watching is not 'derailing into drama' unless you can't fucking help yourself.
>>23916554It is pretty obvious that the tokusatsu show is it's own thing. The entire cast is just a knockoff of the original anime cast.
When i watched Patlabor for the first time, i thought she was lame because she didn't have an quirky characteristic like the rest of the cast. But now i appreciate her short lived presence in the show, a reprentation of a professional and cold attitude type of police. She grew as a person and learned how to appreciate her teammates. I hope she will have a cameo in EZY, even with different voice actress.
>>23916377you have brain rot
>>23916671Did Kumagami grow her hair out?
>>23916671Oh man. Another one for the winners circle. Goto gets to stand with the likes of Fa, Misa, Gai, and Shinn.
>>23916699The real thing i care about is: Did Ohta win Kanuka's heart?
>>23916376Honestly, everything feels like Patlabor except the visual quality. This anime looks low quality, which is a shame. The color grading looks desaturated and the cgi mecha looks ass.
>>23916718Such is modern anime in a nutshell. CGI killed our hobby. Time to wrap it up and watch classics
I have no issue with CGI
>>23916718>This anime looks low qualityInsane take.>>23916727Fuck off retard.
>>23915853Nice
>>23916671movie 2
Thank you OP, c'est de la bonne.
>>23916377>>23917064not canon to TV timeline.
>>23916718Any shot of the office alone disproves that
>>23916581probably insecurity
>>23916727A lot of modern good anime based on good manga is high quality. The problem is multiple slop chinese/korean studios or studios that hire chinese/korean workers do nothing but pump out low quality garbage that at times look like bilibili animations (because they essentially are that). That's not any different than old OVAs during the bubble era made by 4 guys in a basement because Tanaka-san threw a loan their way. That said, EZY looked good.
>>23917123>A lot of modern good anime based on good manga is high qualitySuch as?
>>23917131Boku no Pico
>>23917132Pic unrelated.
>>23916657I'm watching it for the first time and she's my favourite, what the fuck manIf she doesn't show up I'll kill myself
>>23917428Get that rope ready then.
Almost done the show and forgot the production order, is it>New Files>Movie 2>Movie 3>Reboot, then finally EZY>>23917440What you call rope, I call hope
>>23917445New Files as a continuation of the TV series.
>>23917445Yes, though keep in mind that WXIII is more a detective and kaiju movie that happens to be set in Patlabor's setting. It's not terrible but it's also not exactly essential watching, and probably best not going in expecting much in the way of familiar faces or elements.
>>23917484Why do you have to be such a pedantic redditor cunt.
>>23917486Why are you so angry about people sharing opinions on Patlabor in a Patlabor thread?
>>23917450I really do love the show, so I'm glad I get a bit more content. Maybe Kanuka will be back in these side-stories!>>23917484I'm forgetting the details of the first movie apart from>Babylon Project>serious amounts of political intrigue and unhappiness behind it, as well as bureaucracy>think there was an actual ACTUAL evil terrorist in either the movie or OVAsand I vaguely recall reading something like>one of the later movies is when they're in over their heads with some massive horrid bullshit>some people don't like the genre change but it's fitting>also something about Japan's modern philosophy on their police and armyAnyway I'm happy to take it for what it is, and I don't mind the big genre changes>probably best not going in expecting much in the way of familiar faces or elements.although not seeing my old friends might be a bit disappointing.
>>23917561All i remember from Movie 3 is the kaiju's tits lol. HOT
>>23917570
>>23917571Oh mama.
>>23916671I didn't know Goto got married. Wow. I'm happy for this fictional man.
>>23917679>fictionalDoes he know?
>>23917864Mystery niggas.
>>23917859I don't.
Good and very patlaboresque ideas ruined by a choppy pace and too many unnecessary shots.
>>23919115>choppy pace and too many unnecessary shotswtf
>>23919115 i feel like if they were actually 3 episodes it'd be fine actually from reading reviews there seems to be an expectation divide between people who wanted more patlabor on tv and people who wanted a fourth patlabor movie
>>23916671huh where's kumagami here
I finally got around to watching the first episode. It was better than I expected it to be.
>>23916376I like the brown girl with short hair and the mechanic gremlin
>>23919147I am somewhat confused as to how anyone that'd seen any of the marketing material would've expected something stylistically or tonally taking after any of the films.Even the films themselves didn't come out of nowhere, they had the more conventional material establishing the setting and cast first.
>>23919115>>23919147Isn't it three movies, aka like, 9-12 episodes
>>23917561Did anything come from destroying the ark at the end of the first movie? It's been a while since I saw the movies but I don't remember hearing anything about it even though I would assume it's loss would have set the babylon project back greatly
>>23919909Don't quote me on this but I believe the idea is that the first two will be three episodes each and the third will be kinda like SV2's Longest Day, which if it's not split into two parts I suppose will functionally be a film.>>23919912EZY's in the TV continuity so it went ahead as intended, which is why SV2's station is now an underutilised block of land next to a built up urban area. From what I recall the area looked more like it did in the earlier entries in the live-action, which is nominally a continuation from the films.
>>23919916>EZY's in the TV continuityYou're telling me she'll have a cameo?
>>23919909It's 8 episodes.
>>23919926Out of 10!Wait.Oh...
>>23919926>>23919934Same amount of episodes as Bubblegum Crisis and GaoGaiGar Final.
>>23916376I was surprised at how much I liked Yunai. I was expecting him to be an Ohta clone and the pilot of Ingram 2 based solely off that cockpit shot of him in the trailers lmao. I like how he's just a jolly good natured dude who seems pretty competent at his job. Kind of a mix of Ohta's physicality, Hiromi's good nature, and just a dash of Kanuka's competence. Saki is cute too, but we haven't gotten to see too much of her yet. Hopefully we get some more time with her and Kobayashi in the following episodes.
>>23919925hopefully.
>>23919925Monkey paw: She married the Chinese faggot
um ackshually EZY is in the manga continuity didn't you see all the ruuuuuueferences in chapter 3
>>23916363>addressing her by her first nameNo wonder she shut him down. That was very discourteous of him, not to mention grossly unprofessional.
>>23917570There was no third movie; that was just something they slapped the Patlabor title on as an afterthought for stateside release.
>>23919339Why did she release the restraint harness?
>>23922271Did they edit in the Ingrams too? It's a third movie in the Patlabor franchise, even though it's not Patlabor 3.
>>23922272He was scared and confused and needed a strong woman to help take care of him
i saw some people being angry that the translation for file 1 was partially made from AI so hopefully that'll lead to a fully manually done translation soon almost wanted to push them towards it more but that might've been seen as suspicious
>>23922294 towa is such a nice lady
>>23922385from the quarter-century or so I've seen people bitch about machine translations there's a whole lot more interest in crying about them than making newer, better ones
>>23922385>hopefully that'll lead to a fully manually done translation soonI wouldn't count on it
>>23922272She was horny
>>23922385Legitimate fansub groups were taking too long anyway. Chinese fans got the entire thing subtitled with both Japanese and Chinese subs on BiliBili a week after the physical copies shipped out. Those subtitles were also how the English ones got cross referenced too. If people don't want MTL involvement at all then this should be a motivator to work on File 2 when it comes out.
>>23922812iirc TNG was varying degrees of crab too?
>>23922813There was one group that was working on TNG but only did episode 0 and 1, they bailed on the rest of the series which lead to a sharp drop in quality. It was either done by someone who didn't know English or used a funky translator.
>>23922817yeah I was under the impression it really was the OG stick styles of JP->CN->ENG
>>23922817wow that looks rough
>>23922812Being an anglophone is suffering.
>>23924472I think we just need a bit more motivation, it's difficult trying to get other anglo Patlabor fans to do much anything. You'd think with a series as good as Patlabor there would be more enthusiasm to make stuff like this available. I guess historically for us it's always been one or a couple guys getting really dedicated all of a sudden and taking the initiative, like with patlabor.info and the rest of the manga.
The new "Sushiya no Goto" novel Ito released seems nice. From the summary it seems that all of the old cast appears.>あの日から30年、元・特車二課第二小隊隊長・後藤喜一は、寿司屋になっていた!?>後藤が、熱海で営む小さな寿司屋。>店にたむろする愛すべき常連たちと、そこを訪れる旧・特車二課の面々。>遊馬、野明、太田、進士、山崎、香貫花……そしてあの人も――>彼らは何を語るのか――?
>>23924761It seems only Ohta aged well. Shinshi and Goto got out of shape.
>>23924761If anyone is curious as to where each member ends up, here is the rundown:>Goto retires from the police force and wanted to open up a Sushi Restaurant, traveling abroad to places like Finland, Russia, and China to master his craft. >He then returned to Japan and set up shop in the resort town of Atami.>Ohta leaves the police force and becomes a labor training instructor, eventually marries one of his students.>Shinshi is still in the police force, his wife is the first to find out about Goto's Sushi restaurant>Kanuka took on early retirement and moved back to Oahu Hawaii, eventually contacted by Ohta as he wanted to go there for his honeymoon. She even offered to show them around.>Hiromi and Shinshi would visit the Sushi join together, Hiromi himself is married too, now a farmer on his wife's family land out in Aizu. >Shinobu resigned from the police force after the events of the second movie, moving out of her mother's home too.>She joins the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers and became a teacher in Bangladesh.>She meets someone from a Danish organization named Ella in Bangladesh, becoming friends with her.>Her mother passes away and she returns to Japan, soon after Ella invites her to take over her position in Denmark. >One summer at a party in Helsinki held by Ella, Shinobu would run into Goto by surprise, who of course, was making sushi.>Goto shares his plan to open a sushi restaurant back in Japan with her, Shinobu promising that she visit him when he finally opened it, and she would fulfill this promise.
Started watching, and the Ingram seems to run out of energy very fast. Do the new versions have an energy capacity for deployment, or is that due to age and the new cockpits?
>>23925348>Ohta and Kanuka are just best friendsWell abit disappointing but kinda make sense, too.
>>23925348>>Goto retires from the police force and wanted to open up a Sushi Restaurant, traveling abroad to places like Finland, RussiaThere better be a cameo of Ivan Invanovitch Ivanovsky
>>23925348As for Noa and Asuma, they visit the shop individually, but they're anything but apart by this point in the story.>At one of their dates Asuma was still afraid to ruin the established relationship they had, Noa telling him she's moving back home to take over the liquor store. It was hard to maintain their relationship given how far apart they would be living.>Noa eventually marries a classmate and Asuma attended then wishes them well. However eventually the husband would die in a sudden car accident.>The situation badly shook Noa, making her a shut in and nearly making her shut down her store.>Asuma visits their family home to pay respects and sits at Noa's bedroom door in silence, Noa sitting on the opposite side. >Before Asuma decides to up and leave, Noa opens the door and calls out to him. For the first time, she would cry in front of someone since the incident first took place. >Asuma would share a meal with her and her parents, suggesting that she convert the store into an online business. Noa returns to Tokyo and is with Asuma again, reforging their relationship after the event. They aren't married but they definitely aren't "friends" anymore.
>>23925359>actual cuckold storyline
>>23925359I guess this sort of explains why Noa acted the way she did in movie 2. She knew she'd have to take over the store, so she steeled herself by trying to distance herself from Alphonse and then labors in general.
>>23925351I think it might just be due to the length of the episode, from the Griffon encounters and the tournament episode, the Ingram's battery seems to last a few hours at the maximum. In episode 1 they start operating probably in the midday to afternoon, with it being late into the evening once the plus starts running low on power. In episode 2 I believe the operation time was low to add dramatic effect.
>>23925370>AHHHH SHE MARRIED SOMEONE ELSE AND WE WEREN'T EVEN DATING SHE IS FUCKING KEKKING ME NOOOOOOOOOO>MUH CHEMISTRYfuck off retarded zoomer kike
>>23925370Asuma accepted the relationship and wished them well, then when he guy died, he was the first person she confided in. She even moved back to Tokyo and they were back together again. That's not much of a cuck story, if anything that's just how life goes on.
>>23924761How many years after movie 2?
>>23925376>>23925379So many unironic cucks coping...
>>23925393>obsessed with cuckoldry>always trying to force a cuck narrative on everything>a show can't have more than one love interest because it messes with his self insertionThe only cuck here is (You).
>>23925374I don't really see her parents wanting that for her, but in movie continuity we never see her quite find the same meaning in the job outside the labors she does in TV, and I can imagine the film events making a little distance from Tokyo and the MPD sounding appealing.>>23925375Episode 2 isn't even real, it's just a series of cliches that reflect the tastes of each character in fiction and how they perceive themselves and each other to some degree. It even had a different UI for the timer versus the first episode, it felt like a very conscious Eva nod to me.
>>23925571That's what I was referring to yeah.
>>23925359Hmm, if it's just one continuity, this isn't too terrible, though it still left a sour taste in my mouth. It's probably a good "what-if" if taken by itself. I wonder what they will do when they eventually show up in EZY though (since their relationship in T.V+new files was far more fleshed out, especially by the end)
>>23925858>>23925359>I wonder what they will do when they eventually show up in EZY thoughBetter get around to it. Asuma's voice actor is gonna turn 80 this year,
>>23925863I'll always find it funny that I first heard his voice as Poplan instead of Asuma or Dr. Piccolo
>>23925348>movie timeline yaaaay i dun have to give a shit about iiiiiit
>>23925858It's not even that, it's like two pocket continuities deep. One, books are never super serious canon anyway. Two, it contradicts TNG which is considered explicitly the next part of that canon.
>>23926082From an interview on animeanime.jp, it looks as if TNG's canonicity to the second movie is starting to get contested.
>>23926098The point remains that I wouldn't obsess over it too much.
Just watched EZY and while it looked surprisingly decent for a 2026 anime, the stories weren't executed to the same quality as past shows. Not worth the wait and I will not proceed to File 2.
>>23916694>>23919150Akemi Takada often drew Kumagami with longer hair that was usually tied up, mostly in her novel related appearances though
>>23926963What's with that outfit?
>>23926968She was originally stationed at Hong Kong so Takada probably liked playing around with that aspect of her.
>RG Ingram still hasn't shipped PLEASE
>>23927000I always feel like Kumagami is a failed replacement of Kanuka. She has the same characteristic as Kanuka except with a quirky characteristic i.e afraid of ghost along with a seemingly plot relevance story with her past being the main villain's ex girlfriend. But all of that ultimately amount to nothing and it is probably too late at this point to make her important like the story set her up to be.
>>23927088Thinking of Kumagami as a "replacement" Kanuka misunderstands the kind of character she is. I agree that the timing wasn't perfect when they decided to introduce her in the TV show as she would've benefit from genuine screen time, though she isn't like Kanuka aside from being a competent woman. From her introduction Kumagami is cemented as a character who intends to better herself and her career with SV-2 being another step in that process. Kanuka was transferred to Section 2 because the NYPD wanted labor unit experience, so they sent Kanuka as she already was a headache due to her uncontrollable nature. Kumagami chose to go of her own volition, despite the team seeing SV-2 as too lowly a place for any sane police officer. From there she goes the extra mile to learn their lifestyle, learn how to operate the Ingram, and any other necessary skills to survive out at SV-2.Its a short scene but I think it really adds to the kind of person Kumagami is in contrast to the other members. Like I said before, the team don't think very highly of their own organization, Noa asking Kumagami why someone as esteemed as her would submit themselves to joining them. She'd respond by asking if she even had pride in the work she does, that her attitude will only make her stagnate. It's one of the few times where Noa is put on the spot about why she's even on the team, also serving as subtle foreshadowing to her intense moments of self reflection after the Griffon arc in Noa's Adventure and Freedom to Choose a Job. She basically challenges Noa and looks after the team, whereas Kanuka always preferred a hands off approach. Kanuka also took on this "mentorship" role at the start of TV that was originally Kumagami's when she was first introduced in the manga, meaning that Kanuka more or less replaced Kumagami.
>>23927126TV originally was going to end where Kanuka left, making her a lot more of a central character than she really was. On top of that, it meant there wasn't a lot of foresight to actually make room for Kumagami's appearance as she was a vital character for the eventual adaptation of the Griffon arc. It's the arc where she's temporarily benched which is not a problem for manga readers as they spent enough time with her, but a huge problem for anime watchers as she was just introduced. It gets even worse when they bring Kanuka back for an arc she was never present for, rubbing salt into the wound and making the viewer question her implementation. That's one of my few gripes with TV since it doesn't give the viewer the best impression of Kumagami.
New trailer for the gamePlayable Griffon, Type Zero, Helicopter from 2 and a couple more. Seems like we'll be able to scenarios from both the TV and the movies.Looks good but i hope the game has a bit more 'meat' and is not just the experience of living through the patlabor series events.https://youtu.be/uUZaeSzLF-E
>>23927403Environments look rough around the edges but the models, lighting, and animation look pretty good. Also looks like there will be parrying and perfect dodges, hopefully the gameplay will be fun. This definitely looks like a lower budget game so I don't mind if they go all in on fanservice. Maybe they can even add in more labors down the line since I doubt they'd drop a new Patlabor game without adding content from a brand new ongoing series.
>>23927126Kumagami was Oshii's concept idea to replace Kanuka since she was proposed by Izubuchi and other Headgear employees for a serious, cool beautiful police archetype i.e not what Oshii directly created. The old geezer dislikes Kanuka and tend to scrub her off of every Patlabor media he directs, even the live action "Kanuka" is just a Kumagami expy.
>>23927461Huh, Kumagami was usually Masami Yuuki and Michiko Yokote's character, and if he did conceptualize Kumagami then that's a little ironic. He didn't seem to do much with her in the episodes he wrote and didn't really acknowledge her existence in the films either. I also think Kasha is way too cold and mean to be Kumagami adjacent, though I am aware of his strange hateboner for Kanuka.
>>23927461i am not sure it's true cause kumagami appears before kanuka in the manga iirc, latter was quite popular and hence got a larger focus in the anime.
>>23927126 i'm sorry anon but she is literally a replacement kanuka they got her on there because kanuka was too competent to use in joke bits
>>23927475TNG is pretty much what Oshii wanted for the characters. Russian Kanuka is afraid of rats, which is a homage to Kumagami's phasmophobia. Even if Oshii didn't solo her creation then he definitely pulled some strings because Kazunori Ito was the head writer and he was Oshii's close friend.
>>23927496>i am not sure it's true cause kumagami appears before kanuka in the mangaThe manga and ova came out in the same year so you don't need to treat either as the source material. Both Kanuka and Takeo were created when Headgear were formed. As for the replacement, she is one in the context of the anime.
>>23927525I think Oshii and Ito just overrestimated Kanuka's competence which is funny because Kumagami came out as the more perfect and cold one. She had like 1 funny momment and never get flanderized in the show, meanwhile Kanuka got scolded by Goto as he sticked a paper on her face and called her dumb, jobbed everytime she got to pilot an Ingram and then became a damsel in distress in Movie 1.
I wonder what makes Oshii being respected as an anime director but an absolute joke as a tokusatsu director? It is not like he changes his style everytime he makes one, they all have his flavour.
>>23927526Which member of Headgear contributed in making which major character is an answer that I would love to find out.TV was supposed to end with Kanuka's farewell but the show was popular and got extended, so they hastily introduced Kumagami to adapt the Griffon arc. I would advice against assuming creator's feelings regarding their characters, unless you have any interview where Oshii talks about disliking Kanuka and making Kumagami as a response.
>>23927613Izubuchi created Kanuka concept according to Oshii and Kazunori Ito wrote her personality and background. Oshii admited that he hates her from the conception.> Kanuka is a character created by Bucchan (Yutaka Izubuchi). A cool, beautiful girl who excels in both academia and sports, which he likes. I didn't like her from the start. For me, there was no other way to portray her than as an innocent woman. The idea that Noa is hot and Kanuka is cool only works for three episodes. It certainly wouldn't work for six episodes or a year-long series. Character compositions that are too formalic quickly become formalic.>Kanuka was only added because they were short on people due to team composition constraints. The only other reason was that she filled in the rack of female presence. That premise is what restricts the character of Kanuka. Always an outsider, an alienated existence.Oshii also has a hateboner for Noa and thinks she is a useless protagonist>anime to be a product, you absolutely need those kinds of perfect characters. A girl who loves mecha and exists for no reason. If you touch on that, lightning strikes. Just adding a shadow to Noa's cheek causes a huge uproar and complaints come from all over. Like Lum from "Urusei Yatsura," she's a harbinger of bad luck... that's an exaggeration, but she's a character that's better left alone. What I've learned as I've gotten older is that you should just leave those kinds of characters on the altar. That way, no one will make a fuss, the fans will be happy, and I can do what I want to do. As soon as I made that decision and did it, I felt relieved. I decided that I didn't want the main character, Noa-chan, to cause any trouble, so I should just put her on the altar. Don't touch her at all. Leave her alone and don't get involved unnecessarily.https://www-yk-rim-or-jp.translate.goog/~rst/rabo/news/oshii2.html?_x_tr_sch=http&_x_tr_sl=ja&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
>>23927532Making cheap ass looking movies as an excuse to have a vacation in Hong Kong doesn't amount for much.
>>23927508I don't really buy that, since again, TV was meant to end with Kanuka's departure. When they began to adapt the Griffon arc they had no choice but to include her, it's like saying Utsumi was a replacement Kurosaki because he's the new main antagonist.
>>23928004It is the otherway around. The manga had a 6 years run from 1988 to 1994 while the tv show had a 1 year run from 1989 to 1990. By the time Griffon appeared in the manga, the show probably ended.
>>23928016The Griffon would first make it's appearance in volume 3, which was released December of 1988. In TV it would appear in episode 28 on May 9th of 1990. Keep in mind that manga usually release in magazines like Shonen Jump before being compiled into volumes. For Patlabor it was Shonen Sunday Comics, a weekly comic publisher. This means the chapters likely released sooner and in closer proximity to each other originally, giving the manga more of a head start on it's own concepts before TV. For consistencies sake, TV's episodes were in production months in advance, but I believe the manga was still ahead. Since TV started airing in October of 1989, the current ongoing plotline in the manga would in fact be the Griffon arc one way or another. Eventually they would catch up to the manga, which was probably doing the WXIII arc, and would have to make their on conclusion to the Griffon plotline.
>>23925348>Kanuka's still single, ready to be married by meAlright, we are so back
>>23927770 >A girl who loves mecha and exists for no reason. If you touch on that, lightning strikes. Just adding a shadow to Noa's cheek causes a huge uproar and complaints come from all over.did japanese audiences get mad about movie 2 noa not being into mecha

>>23916644>The entire cast is just a knockoff of the original anime cast.except for Shige-chan
>>23928809Nah
>>23916376Pardon me for being a dumbfag but is that an actual plushie? I'd get it if it were, EZY was a ton of fun.
>>23929325Yup.
>>23929328It's real and on a-on store, same place you buy the blu rays, though they won't start shipping until mid July and you'll have to import it.
Why does Shinshi look so old and decrepit compared to Ota who aged like wine?
>>23929535 i thought ota looked old and decrepit as well personally
>>23929535 oh also probably shinshi's wife lmao
>>23929535>>23930475Can't imagine how badly aged Kanuka, Noa, Asuma, and Hiromi etc. will be.
>>23930477 >kanuka good >noa depending on wether they want to torture the old guard or not good or bad >asuma realistically the family stuff wil get to him >hiromi will not be shown to respect his actor
>>23930533>will not be shown to respect his actorDeceased?
>>23930580 read this a long time ago on the wiki page >Daisuke Gōri died of Suicide @ around 3:00 PM Japan Standard Time the middle of a street in Nakano, Tokyo by a passerby, who then notified the police. Authorities from the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Nakano station discovered a utility knife under his body as well as a suicide note (with the words "I'm sorry" (ごめんね, Gomen ne) and "Thank you" (ありがとう, Arigatō) scrawled on it) addressed to his family in his pants pocket.

>>23927000He looks like that little weasel who developed the Griffon.
>>23931267Seems more like every reason to keep them shut and covered.
>>23932948>looks likeAnon...
>>23930706
only now realized shinohara and schaft are the only labor manufacturers with logos i'd buy a hishii t-shirt if they let me but it doesn't even have a logo at the moment...
>>23933483They actually have a bunch of company logos on merchandise like this hoodie, you can probably crop it out and resize it.
>>23933483I get logos from shows made into patches from Etsy. I'm very sure you could just get somebody to make it. Like I'm not even shittung you I get show accurate embroidered patches. So you can get a huge embroidered hoodie and be baller like that.
I'd like to ask about the episode order of New OVA. MAL lists the Griffon episodes as subsequent, AniDB lists them with some of the SoL episodes sprinkled in between. So which is it?
>>23933834According to Anime News Network, AniDB to be correct going by episode release date. Technically the New OVA did come out with the Griffon episodes split up by the other episodes. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=409&page=25I have the following encode and my version has episode 4 as "Game Over" so it follows MAL's list, but I guess that was a choice by the encoder to place the Griffon episodes in order for viewing continuity, I guess.https://nyaa.si/view/809170
>>23931267That looks nothing like the Jet Stream Attack!
>>23933834just check wiki for release dates, although I watched an encode which had them all in the opening episodes one after another. I think that helps as we get a continuous narrative of arc's conclusion without feeling interrupted by random one off episodes.
>>23933834Originally the episodes were released in between unrelated SOL ones, however in later releases of the New OVA they have been put in order at the beginning. Both episode order listings are "correct," though nowadays the Griffon episodes are usually listed to be back to back
>>23933788 dam, nice. is it the mitsubishi-looking one?
>>23933852>>23934218>>23934231Alright, thanks. My encode also had all the Griffon episodes together so that threw me off a little when I saw the different episode order.
Only got around to watching EZY now. I thought it was nice, but I really dislike how blurry everything is. You don't need a "depth of field" blur effect on every single shot. Even things in the foreground are blurry at times. That was such a letdown.
>>23934490You have astigmatism nigga.
>>23934391Don't you mean Yotsubishi?
>>23931267haha nice
>>23934494No, I'm near-sighted which is why I have the monitor up to my face. You can rewatch it if you forgot, roughly 70% of the screen on the first case is blurry because of the effects they used. It's similar to how everything but the characters in Hibike! Euphonium S1 was blurry. It's a really bad effect and I don't know why they keep using it.
>>23936031but that's kyoani, not jcstaff
>>23931257Anyone else wonder why they made the half-caucasian the most Asian-looking character in the cast?
>>23936453
>>23936727You have to go back.
>vtuber faggotoryIdk if I would even pirate it
>>23935315 oh, that's what they meant. does that mean hishii's still around in EZY or did they get downscaled and folded back into yotsubishi?
>>23937857They all still have Hishii based designations, I'm lead to believe that the "Hercules Powered Kai" could be a joint product between Hishii and Yotsubishi like how the HAL-X10 was a joint product between Hishii and Shinohara
>>23934391Got that without the /y/ post?
>>23938736you have to admit it's very accurate goto is quite the erotic old man

>>23938824How many times are you going to tell us you're not watching EZY?
Extremely brown post. Do not engage.
Just finished all three, I thought they were okay. I'd say in terms of enjoyment it would be 2 > 1 > 3.I liked 2 the most for sure, it was a fun story and it was a good way to establish the character's personalities a bit. I also unapologetically soi'd the fuck out at the Type Zero scene. Just like with the original cast, I think it'll need a good few episodes for the characters to feel like characters. The beginning is always rocky. It's also such a high bar so it's difficult to hit it for sure. I wasn't disappointed though, there's potential.I liked Towa and Yuta. Can't tell with the captains yet.
