How is this never considered the worst romantic canonical couple in Gundam? All they have together is scenes where they bicker and Roux essentially comes off as an older sister figure to him, looking out for his interests at most involvement. Yet with the ending of ZZ we get full acknowledgement they become a couple off-screen beginning a relationship together. And absolutely none of it was ever shown on screen.I almost wish Elle would have won Judau in the end, because at least she openly had feelings for him conveyed to the viewer right from the start.

Maybe they did form a relationship during their travel to Jupiter, they are both young and going to a far away place so there is a possibility of becoming a couple or maybe they are just close friends. Tomino had floated the possibility of making another anime with Judau, although it never panned out, so it could have been a set up for that.
I wish I liked the Haman/Judau pairing at all. Newtype romances in general kinda suck in my opinion.

The first half is what Tomino wanted to make and therefore more artistically pure, but Tomino specifically did not want to make something for existing Gundam and yet made a direct sequel to existing Gundam meaning it was a product for nobody. The second half was made for Gundam fans, but only due to external pressures and is then more a product of Sunrise than Tomino and that is ultimately worth less (but not worthless)
