What do you think about the relationship between Suletta Mercury and Miorine Rembran?
I kind of wanted Suletta to end up with Elan. I didn't finish the show though and since it wasn't that Elan I'm kind of not that committed to the ship. As much of it as I have watched so far (ep 7), Miorine and Suletta's relationship hadn't really been developed. But I guess lesos are p cool, although they're a bit late on wrt that wagon
>>23928688>ElanSadly, it's a true in Gundam that all clones/children designed for war never get happy endings.
women belong with women<3
>>23927744Unabashed and extreme faggotry. Truly the symbol of /m/ whether anons like it or not.
They remind my wife and I of our early years, and the way we’ve grown in response to our struggles & each other. Those conversations in episodes 11 & 22: we’ve had those talks. Making a new business to keep us from being split up by the powers that be, and working for people with disabilities, done that too. Their we share their philosophy on breaking cycles, owning mistakes, & restorative justice. Our story is of course less marred by giant-robot-high-stakes, but the basic parallels are potently there. They feel more human and personally relatable than I ever would have expected from Gundam, or really any show.
>>23927744I don't think about them at all.
>>23928759Fuck off tranny.
i think Suletta is The Raped and Miorine is a manipulating abusive bitch
>>23927744I think the show sucks
Its one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life.
For being one of 3 Gundam shows to focus on romance it's pretty mediocre
>>23927744fun twist I guess with her actually ending up becoming the bride to suletta
>>23927744.... Mecha?
>>23929122>romance>not a single kiss>supposed couple spend more time with other men than togetherlul
If there's one thing I could say about SuleMio, it's a ship that was marred by how the production weren't really up to to task to make it a believable romance. Sure, executives got cold feet about depicting a lesbian romance at a time slot for children in Japan (1700 hours), but the production team were not smart enough to choose what they can show and what not to show.
>>23929643>executives got cold feet about depicting a lesbian romance at a time slot for children in JapanThis isn't a thing btw.
>>23929651"Cold feet" as in being explicit. We didn't explore more on Miorine's claim that same-sex marriages are commonplace outside Mercury. My personal gripe with SuleMio is not exploring much if they really did fall in love with each other. You could even make the argument Suletta ultimately did so after what happened with Elan-4.And when I meant "production team were not smart enough to choose what they can show and what not to show', I meant not devoting more time on Suletta and Miorine questioining themselves on whether they should take their relationship more seriously. Such is the consequence of the production team not finding the will to try 50 episodes.
>>23929675In the Novel.
>>23927744It's great and I love how each partner acts and evolves because of the other. The innocent Suletta is manipulated by her mother into protecting the very person for whom she has begun to develop feelings; ultimately abandoned by everyone, she fights to defend her family and keep it together. Meanwhile, Miorine—who was deeply tethered to memories of her mother—chooses to let go of that past to protect the naive, sweet girl she is falling in love with. The "SuleMio divorce" is the most impactful moment and definitive proof of Miorine's feelings: she no longer wants to run away or drown in memories of her mother; she has someone worth fighting for. Even if that person might come to hate her, she would accept that outcome if it meant ensuring the safety of the one she loves. When they reunite, no words—or even a formal apology—are necessary; Suletta is Miorine’s source of comfort, the person who can pull her out of her darkest moments simply by reaching out a hand. Miorine remained in the darkness of the persona she had struggled to escape yet had been forced to adopt, feeling crushed by that identity and the cruel reality of the world—until the person who mattered most to her reached out, and she grasped that hand firmly.
>>23929848How is the novel going?
Reminder that the Invincible Patrick Colasour had an on-screen (heterosexual) wedding, unlike anything in gwitch
>>23927744it's perfect because it actually plays the "gay is not genetic but an acquired mental illness" completely straightmiorine is ambiguous, but suletta's underdeveloped mind has been, rather believeably, molded by the series' events
>>23927744It's cute, I like it. That chase and hug scene near the end of S1 is the sweetest, most romantic scene in all of Gundam. Show unfortunately doesn't give it nearly enough time and attention past that, though.
Oh my ever living fuck why can't we have 3 days without the following shir from gundumb fags:Bitch from Mercury is lesbianShe could have been a mother to meKira JESUS YamatoHaman x JudauetcFor 20+ years I have been here and you fucks always always talk about the same things from last year, and last year, and last year, FOREVER
>>23930218relax man its a slow board get on /m/ time anon
>>23927744I think I need to pull a magazine interview that suggested anything about it.
>>23927744It's cute guels wife got a friendship ring for her friend miorine.
>>23930218I think you could use some other hobbies anon
>>23927744i think miorine tops
Miorine really needed to die so Suletta became an actual character instead of the cutesy nothing she was all series.
>>23927744I like both characters, especially Suletta, but the prioritization of /u/shit over everything else completely drags down the story and deprives them both of the more meaningful arcs they should've had.
>>23937040>especially Suletta, but the prioritization of /u/shit over everything else completely drags down the story and deprives them both of the more meaningful arcs they should've hadHence what I mean by "production team not being able to balance yuri and non-yuri elements in the story". WfM really needed more than 25 episodes to do that.
>>23937040Can I ask what you like about Suletta? Her character was part of the reason I dropped the show. Does she develop a character with flaws and an actual personality, and does she stop the annoying stuttering? Or is her whole character arc just her "finding her own voice"? I never made it that far to find out.
>>23927744Doesn’t feel like a genuine lesbian romance.
>>23927744I genuinely despise lesbians.
>Miorine card with the liliesHoly kino.
>Race mixing lolicon child marriageDropped the franchise.
>>23939070this is a joke about Char and Lalah right?
I like the bit where they give Suletta her holder colors back as a freebie, reaffirming that Miorine's hand in marriage is still ultimately just a prize. Really drives know they're just pieces of meat being traded around by their parentsIt's like Utena if it was rewritten by someone with a brain polished to a mirror sheen
>>23939105Yes.
>>23927744Miorine is just kind of an annoying wet blanket for most of the show.
Didn't like them together. I genuinely thought the G-Quuuuuux girls made a cuter coup even though they were straight.
>>23938876It's mostly her design and demeanor. I understand why a great many people dislike the autism, especially given the way this series wastes time, but I found the autism cute. There's other things too, I do like that Suletta genuinely wants to study, take what she'll learn at school and build one of her own to help her home thrive. There's no shortage of modern female leads who have no goals of their own at all>see: rey from disney warsso it's nice that she actually wants to be where she needs to be for the plot to happen. That said, I will not argue that she's actually some hidden gem of a character or has much development. G-Witch is a massive waste of time and potential, and it frustrates the hell out of me to think about it. The show is not interested enough in exploring its own thesis of how the technology that goes into making a Gundam or mobile suits can be applied to different ventures for the betterment of humanity despite its perception as a tool for war, and because Suletta's the one who more or less brings that to the series, Suletta doesn't actually get to be anything other than a ditz who randomly commits to being a lesbian. But I like her smile, so I have to let it slide.
