To the anon in the last thread, SRW3 is an exercise is abusing MAPW. Cybuster, Valsione, Hyaku Shiki and IIRC the later ships that Bright captain all have very potent MAPW that you're supposed to rely on to soften if not outright btfo the enemy forces.After that, its just crutching on +Morale spirits and accepting stuff like Kouji/Tetsuya are worse than Maria/Hikaru because of support spirit shenanigans. My least favorite part of 3 is the part where Mazinger and Getter lose upgrades when they move to their new forms. Since it means that you have to field an unupgraded Getter team until very late.

Man the story in OG1 was is adorably quaint. Oh there are twists and turns but it's just so straight forward and much easier to follow because there's not 1000 factions and enemy groups. It's just "Scientist guy thinks earth ain't ready to fight aliens so he launches a war to get us ready to fight aliens. Now go fight the aliens. It's been a hot while since I played OG2 but between the Inspectors, the Einst and all the Shadow Mirror bullshit there was a lot more stuff going on. And it didn't help that I didn't play OGG and OG Second but I could not follow Moon Dwellers at all.

Speaking of Rayearth, researching this together with Granzort still makes me think the two series need to show up together in a single game, DD or otherwise (and then again, like I mentioned earlier, later incarnations of SRWs with Rayearth will warrant a simple VA cast change because it's a near 1/1 remake following the manga story), all because the Mado Kings and Mashin have identical element masteries anyway, on top of the Super Mado Kings adding white on both themselves and their Mado Warriors' armors, which match the Magic Knights' armors even better. One could even imagine Rayearth was even made because CLAMP might have liked Granzort themselves (and to make things a bit cheekier, Rabi is a hit to the girls in 1989!), which could make interactions between him and Umi all the more interesting (all of them have a 3-year gap between groups, so it's still fair game shipping between the water masters).
