If this was a proper production with people who knew what they were doing, these photos would indicate that the screenwriters are trying to show how pro-Earthnoid supremacy sentiment would grow among soldiers and officers in the EFF the longer the OYW went on alongside some atrocities that would occur on the front. This would kinda make sense if the movie is going for an 08th MS team/0083 inspired setting. Sadly we know no one smart is working on this shitshow and they probably opted for the blue uniforms because the material they use looks less cheap in darker colors than in the standard feddie gray.

If it's true that the war in this movie has been going on for 10 years then the setting does have potential. If it is alt UC then this would fit nicely with regular UC (Feds win OYW), gcuck (Zeon wins) and this movie (OYW stalemate/frozen or stagnant conflict). In main UC the period of 0079-0089 saw operation stardust, gryps war and first neo zeon war. Would be interesting to see how both the Federation and Zeon would develop militarily and as governments if neither side truly lost the OYW and it just kept going. The blue uniforms could easily be Titans getting mainstream within the EFF after so many years of warfare because they seem to be an inevitability. If Bandai and the director really had the balls they'd make Scirroco the leader of the Federation in this timeline and he cucks the MC and tells the girl to gas a colony
