I'm rewatching Kikaider the Animation and I can't figure out what's up with these fucking eyes. What are they supposed to to represent? Aside from Mitsuko's mother there was a little girl in Episode 4 who had similar eyes. Are these supposed to be stylistic representations of a specific kind of eye?
Watch more anime.
>>23949800>I need to hyper fixate on the most innocuous detail possible instead of the plot and charactersWhy are you like this? Why is your generation like this?
>>23949826>>I need to hyper fixate on the most innocuous detail possible instead of the plot and charactersI wouldn't really say I'm fixated on it. It's just an interesting design choice that stuck out to me because it's so different compared to other character's eyes. If it really wasn't meant to mean anything I can't help but wonder why not give her regular eyes like everyone else. It had to be a conscious decision to not have the whites of her eyes show.
>>23949826>visuals don't matter or mean anything in a visual mediumYou are stupid
>>23949800It's an old drawing style
>>23949849It's just blue curtains bro.
it's just a thing Ishinomori used to do for some eye variation.usually these eyes are used for more mysterious types of women.
Oh man Leiji from Yamato and Harlock fame did the same. Nothing but some oldfag way of drawing people. Lots of old shit had it.
It looks nice; do you really need any other reason?
>>23949847>I wouldn't really say I'm fixated on it.You're asking a question to the higher meaning of what is a simplistic stylistic choice. >>23949849You can't understand visuals.
>>23949875He first used it on Helena in the Mythos Cyborgs story, but she even had the normal eyes at first. Then he used it on her Xerox design copies in the Yomi arc, and then just threw it on any mysterious ladies he wanted.
>>23949947>You're asking a question to the higher meaning of what is a simplistic stylistic choice.Basic curiosity is not fixation. Her eyes looked different from everyone else, and so I asked if there was a reason why.>>23949875I guess it's just harder to see with the mother because her eyelashes and eye color are both black so it all just kind of blends together.
>>23949969>Basic curiosity is not fixation. Her eyes looked different from everyone else, and so I asked if there was a reason why.Because that's how she was drawn. You're autistic. This isn't curiosity.
>>23949971>This isn't curiositySo you can't even handle the possibility that there might have been other reasons that she had weirdly drawn eyes? And you call me autistic. Also my question got answered further up. You don't need to answer it again.
>>23949969The mystery eyes are supposed to be black, it's things like the 2001 Cyborg anime and Vs Devilman that decided to give them color to add depth. The sisters in Sukeban Deka also have the eerie black eyes.
>>23949976>So you can't even handle the possibility that there might have been other reasons that she had weirdly drawn eyes?If you watched the show you know there isn't.>Also my question got answered further up. You don't need to answer it again.Evidently I do because the answer is stop being retarded.
It's just the way Ishinimori drew women. He and Leiji Matsumoto were from the same camp. You had either beautiful, attractive people or these ugly goblin creatures.
