The perspective would be "how can some peasant possibly order me around?"This isn't him going through character development, if anything his character development is supposed to be him getting MORE in tune with normal soldiers via the Blue Team which makes him realise Haman is full of shit, but his actions show him getting farther away from a common soldier - first having a grunt suit in regular colours, then getting his Bawoo, and finally being above piloting himself at all by the time he dies.

Originally, Tomino wasnt sure he was gonna get approved for a movie. So be planned to end Amuro and Char's story in ZZ Gundam. Char was gonna lead a Neo Zeon civil war. Amuro was gonna show up and they were going to settle it once and for all. Judau was going to play a less important role too. More of a support role.After CCA got approved, Tomino said he didn't want to end the Amuro/Char rivalry with just a TV budget. So he changed his plans for ZZ. Amuro and Char were removed. The staff scrambled last minute to make changes to the story. Glemmy was chosen because he was easy, already existed, and was also blonde. Tomino handed off most responsibilities to his staff to wrap up ZZ and he focused on CCA development.
