Zeztz's "homage" to Kuuga is "Zeztz's final form looks a bit like a Temu Ultimate Kuuga". Zeztz's "homage" to Faiz is "we copied the light up parts for no reason".
This stuff is purely aesthetic; there's no deeper meaning behind them. There's no SCENE homaging another Rider scene, there's no depth, it's all just surface-level "how will this look as a Figuarts?" bullshit.
You can't just say "It's good because it's a homage!" it has to also be a GOOD homage in order to have value.

Speaking of Takaiwa, I just torrented both of the Good Morning Sleeping Lion movies off Nyaa, and on my computer it seems like there's something wrong with the sequel. No matter what I do, GMSL2's picture is always just a little bit stuttery. Both the EiGo and raw do it, I guess EiGo used that raw as their source. Is it just because it's a web-dl version?

I think the Plus forms/Seed Eggz are probably tied to an specific Frame, and might even be exclusive to the base form.

I say they might be tied to an specific Frame because Hedgehog Plus's cape is blue and that seems to be the Rat/Mouse Frame's signature color since Turtle Frame doesn't seem to have it in its suit, and because Seed Eggz animals might be related to their respective Frame animal in some way, since I don't think it's a coincidence at all that Hedgehog is My-Th's very first Plus when "hedgehog" in Japanese literally means "needle mouse" (same logic applies to the main Trio's weapon Seed Eggz, Maou and Rid use Lion and Cheetah because they are felines, while My-Th uses Elephant either because of the "The Mice and the Elephants" fable or due to the common belief that elephants are scared of mice).

As for them being exclusive to the base form, it's because the Hedgehog form is just called "Hedgehog Plus" rather than specifying which Frame it belongs to, and because the Rat already has 2 Seed Eggz tied to it (Elephant and Hedgehog) and the Owl one may also be tied to it due to the "The Mice and The Owl" fable or because owls are known for eating mice.

>>
I finally got past the hump in Blade recently and got to this episode, and it's kind of funny watching this with Zeztz fresh in my mind because the Kenzaki and Hajime relationship almost feels like what I wish the Baku and Nox relationship was more like.
They start similarly with Kenzaki being an isolated lone hero type at the start and Hajime being a "vagueposting" asshole, and maybe it'll all go downhill from here or something, but man it's so nice that Kenzaki actually wins him over and after helping him, Hajime feels like one of Kenzaki's greatest allies even over Tachibana to an extent.
I still like Zeztz but man I wish Nox got as much time and development as Hajime did.
>>
>>23961465
Same, I like Zeztz but Nox is one of the worst secondaries ever, it's a real shame that the staff couldn't really settle on what lane they wanted to go in.
>and maybe it'll all go downhill from here
If anything it gets better, you're in for a ride Blade's final arc is fantastic. I wish Aikawa came back to write a toku but I guess that's extremely unlikely aside from movies.

I think from now on I'm just going to auto-skip any Takahashi shows. All they do is disappoint.

>Kamen Rider Zeztz summer film of “bike action” × “CODE assembly” — Interview with Producer Hideaki Yanaka on Kamen Rider Zeztz: Farewell Mission
The film Kamen Rider Zeztz: Farewell Mission opened July 24, 2026 (released as a double feature with Super Space Keiji Gavan Infinity: The Day the Sun Wept). Here we present an interview with Toei producer Hideaki Yanaka. He talks about the film’s concept, highlights, series-level devices, and reactions to its overseas rollout.

>What makes Kamen Rider different from overseas heroes?
>As producer, what did you want to accomplish with the film when you pushed the project forward?
Yanaka: Two main things guided my thinking from the start.
First, a revival of bike action. Even during the TV run of Kamen Rider Zeztz we set out with the intention to seriously commit to bike action. Thinking toward overseas expansion, we asked ourselves, “How is Kamen Rider different from Batman, Spider-Man, or Power Rangers?” From that came the idea that a Rider’s identity lies in being a solitary hero and a hero who fights on a motorcycle — and we wanted to emphasize that. For the movie we aimed to give audiences even larger-scale bike action in the theater. From screen size to sound, the cinema experience differs greatly from TV, and I discussed that from the earliest planning stages with director Kazuya Kamihoriuchi and screenwriter Yuya Takahashi.
The second goal was to bring together agents from the opposing “CODE” factions — who often clash on TV — and have them stand united against a common enemy. Those two pillars became the film’s key attractions, and we had Yuya begin building the story’s spine around them.
(1/?)
>>
>>23961497
>One highlight is the miraculous cooperation between Yorozu Baku/Kamen Rider Zeztz and Odaka Kensei/Nox/Kamen Rider Nox. How did you conceive this structure, which differs from the typical 1st- and 2nd-rider dynamic?
Yanaka: We didn’t think in terms of “first rider and second rider should be like X.” Because Nox was “disguising” himself before Zeztz appeared, in a sense he could be called a “zero” rider.
Nox has been through a lot and harbors hatred toward CODE. He didn’t want his pupil to end up like that, but he wound up pulling them down a path that changed fate. We built Nox’s arc around what he would do for atonement and revenge, and as a consequence he doesn’t immediately become an ally — that past-rooted reasoning shaped the TV series’ development.

>Sieg/Kamen Rider Dawn also serves as a confrontational foil to the protagonist Yorozu.
Yanaka: Sieg’s personality loves nightmares and so he antagonizes Baku and Nem, so we treated Sieg and Nox differently when deepening their characters.
We wanted a “solitary Rider”: early on Takahashi-san said he wanted Baku to be a lone hero. Although he’s good at ensemble pieces, that initial intention steered how Nox and Sieg were positioned.

>Within the CODE agents, how did you differentiate “Kamen Rider” and “Lord” concepts?
Yanaka: The term “Kamen Rider” itself isn’t used onscreen, but the difference lies in how the Nightmare power is employed — whether it’s framed as “henshin” (transformation) or “gisou” (disguise). Both originate from CODE technology, but the setting treats them differently.

>How did you think about portraying the Special Affairs Department characters?
Yanaka: I’m glad the film could clearly show the Special Affairs Department’s activities. In the early TV arc around precognitive dreams, missions came every two episodes and it was easy to see how the Special Affairs team was involved. After Sieg appears and the story developed a vertical thread, Fujimi and Nasuka lacked lucid dream abilities and were more reactive; their roles were often on the receiving end.
Importantly, the film allowed us to depict the story of Miyamoto Kureha and Nasuka — who drifted apart and met their end in the TV series — and give that the resolution we wanted. I hope audiences look forward to that. Also, pursuing criminals is fundamentally a detective task, so being able to portray that in this film felt very satisfying.

>Director Kamihoriuchi’s insistence on bike action and 5.1 surround sound >Having seen the finished film, what are your impressions and sense of its effectiveness?
Yanaka: At a recent screening, attendees commented on the bike action, saying “this is something you want to watch in a theater,” so I feel confident we hit our mark there.
Since this is a tokusatsu work we emphasize visuals, but for this film we also paid renewed attention to sound design. We engineered the sound assuming a theater speaker layout — deciding which speaker should play which sounds — so the action scenes deliver a physical, whole-body impact.

>How would you describe director Kamihoriuchi’s visual approach?
Yanaka: He’s been close to me for over a decade, so it’s slightly embarrassing to say, but he’s incredibly talented. Beyond aesthetic and technical skill, he persuades and explains his vision to many staff — almost like a producer — and lands the budget and schedule so it becomes achievable. To see that level of execution in a commercial production is remarkable. He’s meticulous with logistics — I half-jokingly think he could be a consultant — and he’s rare in being able to direct performances while handling action and CG so well.

>You deliberately saw this year as one focused on world deployment. How did thinking about global audiences influence the project?
Yanaka: At first we didn’t have a clear map for global spread; we started tentatively with “go overseas.” But after attending overseas events soon after the broadcast began last year, meeting local viewers made it clear there was already a latent Rider fan base eager for official new material. Some arrived through Power Rangers and wondered if there was any way to watch official Kamen Rider releases; Zeztz fit well into that opening. We received many positive reactions, and I hope that momentum continues.

>I heard filming proceeded earlier than usual this year. How did that affect production?
Yanaka: A big benefit was raised image quality. Moving the schedule forward didn’t necessarily lengthen filming overall, but it meant we weren’t doing “deliver this and it airs next week” pushes; instead we could allocate more time to shoot and finishing work than before. We were able to work more deliberately with each director.
That said, we knew from the start it was physically impossible to reflect viewer reactions in real time. Elements such as the precognitive dream developments were written in advance — anticipating topics that might spark conversation — before the episodes aired.
(4/?)
>>
>>23961502
>The 24th episode’s twist — “waking from the precognitive dream” — was a major turning point. How was that constructed?
Yanaka: Yuya (the writer) had that declared very early on (laughs). Working with dreams as a motif, anyone familiar with film, anime, or manga would likely think “this will be a dream-sequence reveal eventually.” The question was timing — and we decided to plant it at the most unpredictable point: the middle of the series.

>Casting born from "someone like this"
>The film features many experienced actors. How was casting handled?
Yanaka: Casting was mainly done by producers Sota Takasaki and assistant producer Reina Ahagon. Both were taking on a year-long tokusatsu hero program for the first time, and I think they had significant beginner’s luck. In script meetings when people said “for example, someone like X,” they really brought those exact actors in. On Zeztz we suggested names like Yasufumi Hayashi or Ikuji Nakamura as “for example” and they actually cast similar people, which made working with the guests enjoyable.
Each agent role was superbly cast; when the agents appear together in the film, none of them overlap in character — the eight personalities are distinct, and that freshness of seeing them assembled was something the movie achieved.

>In promotion, Jay Kabira (Zero) mentioned he’s often asked for comedic roles but got a cool, mature part in Zeztz.
Yanaka: He usually has comedic lines like “Mumu!” or “Kuu~!!” (laughs). For episode 1, director Kamihoriuchi and I discussed the character’s direction in dubbing, and we decided to ask for a cool, mature portrayal from Jay. He enjoyed performing it, and it created a great synergy.
(5/?)
>>
>>23961504
>Intent behind including legacy Rider elements
>The film gives impressions of many nods to past Riders. What careful points did you consider when embedding these homages and balancing their presentation?
Yanaka: We were intentionally including elements that evoke Heisei Riders and others.
In the streaming era, viewers can start a Rider series anywhere, and Zeztz may serve as someone’s entry point. Japanese audiences might watch Zeztz and notice resemblances to a certain element in Kamen Rider Den-O, for example; overseas viewers who start with Zeztz might later watch Den-O and think, “Oh, that element in Den-O is like what I saw in Zeztz.” The intention isn’t to copy titles like Kuuga, W, or Wizard, but to have Zeztz be a reference point for viewers, especially overseas.

>Is Zeztz Ex-Dream, the powered form, partly informed by Kuuga?
Yanaka: It wasn’t predetermined, but there is respect. The energy of those earliest entries — like the original Kamen Rider 1 and Kuuga — was enormous, and that energy is what keeps a series going. Before starting this project I rewatched Kuuga and 555 and thought, “they’re amazing.” In 555 the illuminated suit might also be considered a kind of tribute.

>You have produced dramas such as Kasouken no Onna as well. What appeals to you about producing a Kamen Rider series?
Yanaka: These days, year-long dramas seem to be few — perhaps only Taiga dramas and Kamen Rider. That’s both the charm and the biggest challenge. Nowadays a typical drama season is often a single cour and shorter than before, so the ability to follow a character’s growth across an entire year is special. Both creators and viewers can feel like they’re living through the same time with the characters — a strength one-cour dramas don’t have. That’s a unique appeal of the Kamen Rider series.
(6/?)
>>
>>23961506
>Finally, a message to Kamen Rider Zeztz fans?
Yanaka: Please enjoy the bike action on the big screen. Having CODE agents assemble and “transform/disguise” together is a major cinematic highlight you didn’t get to see on TV. With the completed film I think we’ve clearly shown that a Rider who transforms for freedom and fights on a bike is what Kamen Rider is.
Also — Nox is a must-see. We spend an hour carefully portraying the relationship between Baku and Nox; you can’t talk about Nox without watching this. Lastly, the title Farewell Mission is intentionally layered, so please watch and reflect on why it’s a “farewell.” Please see this definitive summer film of Kamen Rider Zeztz in theaters.

What is generally considered to be Rider's "golden age?" A lot of people seem to praise Heisei Phase 2 but that may just be nostalgia talking because that's when a lot of people got into Rider.

>A lot of people seem to praise Heisei Phase 2 but that may just be nostalgia talking because that's when a lot of people got into Rider
Not really, people just usually lump "Kuuga to Build" as the Golden age because most shows from that period are peak toku even if that period still had some weak entries. But if you mean periods where there weren't any weak shows then maybe either Kuuga to Blade or W to Fourze.
>>
>>23961590
At the very least sales wise Heisei Phase 2 because they just keep increasing. While Reiwa sales are constantly solid, we're being hit with economy changes so Productions are more expensive and they tend to kitbash and limit suits a lot. Back then in Phase 2 they could just print out suits.
>>
>>23961590
anyone who says there's a consensus is ragebaiting.

for me, it's Gaim - Ex-Aid, because that's when they were the most committed to each series' motif without diluting it with random extra shit. Gavv and Zeztz are also pretty good about it.

there's no period where the writing was significantly better for a notable streak though.

IDK the concept of dreams is really vague and so are who the forms' and Riders' designs relate to the theme. That said Gavv and seemingly My-Th despite being animals again are doing themes with actual substance. I'm surprised that from Ex-Aid to Gotchard only Saber has an unique theme and even then they still shoehorn animals in an awkward way there.

>>23961655

>>
>>23961610
>>23961657
it's not really good with the dreams theme but the Rider designs and gear are consistent at least. Way better than shit like Gotchard or Revice.
>>
>>23961670
I guess that's true, but that also makes the designs sort of blend with each other, definitely doesn't help that Zeztz's main forms share molds. But yeah they at least have more thought put into them like you said Gotchard which was just random bs and Revice after Veil where every new Rider was a retool or forms not having any form of cohesive theme compared to the first few upgrades.

>>23961657
I had a stroke with this post I meant to say "how" instead of "who" and "after Ex-Aid" instead of "from".
>>
>>23961670
Revice has the worst Rider designs in the history of the franchise. There isn't a single good suit among the entire cast.

I meant in terms of cohesiveness compared to Gotchard and late Revice which was what the anon I replied to was talking about but I was counting mostly the ones that are actual Riders rather than the Lords.
That said when it comes to actually liking the designs Zeztz's and late Revice are the ones I liked the least, I actually enjoy the non-retool Gotchard designs, but compared to Zeztz and Build, Gotchard doesn't really have enough justification for an Ichigo homage or random motif forms.

W, OOO, Fourze (and Wizard to a lesser extent) are known for following a strict story pattern.
Two parter with a character of the week format, main cast consists of a trio (main rider, fujobait and heroine), one person of that trio is special and part of the reason why the main rider can transform(Phillip, ankh, Kengo), ending involves said special character dying, etc.

Speaking of the Zeztz Trio and their terrible relationship with each other, which one do you guys think is the Trio with the tightest bonds?

I'd say it's Saber's, all three feel like best friends (two of them are literally besties since childhood) who proved they would give their life for each other without a second thought, even when they were on different sides. One could say it's Hibiki's since they never had any really serious disagreements, but the limits of their friendship never got tested to the degree Saber's were and I think they feel like co-workers on friendly terms more than anything. Other shows have a Primary-Secondary pair with a really strong bond, but the Tertiary's relationship with one or both of them isn't very strong or positive.

And which Trio do you think is on the worst terms/has the most distant relationship with each other? Is it Zeztz's or some other show's like Gaim's?

The last two times it was used it were in the Kamen Rider 4 mini-series (during Drive) and then the Brave special with Ouja during Ex-Aid.
>>
>>23961891
It doesn't really matter if the show has a Quartet (I mentioned Gaim and Hibiki, and Saber kind of has one as well), it still has a Trio by default.

I thought about Team Build as well, but Kazumi (and Gentoku) started out as an enemy who was willing to kill Sento and Banjo, then became their ally but not really a friend, and then he finally got friendly with them after losing all of his farmer buddies, but even then he didn't seem as tight with our duo as they were with each other. Sento and Banjo also kind of started their relationship on the wrong foot, and all four constantly pick on each other because none of them are completely nice guys despite having a good heart. Kazumi and Gentoku also don't really feel like the type to lay down their lives for their Rider mates outside the context of saving the world at large or making up for their sins.
>>
>>23961891
Shows like Build and Blade is where it's not a trio burlt rather a quartet because it really feels incomplete to exclude the fourth. I guess the other one would be Geats, even though they suck.
>>
>>23961884
> Judging things superficially
That isn’t superficial
> being mad at a show having a heroine
I never said that, stop projecting.
> early Heisei shows consist of a serialized two-parter case structure
That’s irrelevant to my point.
I really wanna know why you’re trying to play revisionist?
The three shows being derivative is a common complaint since it aired and the reason why Gaim is notable.
>>
>>23961916
Except the complaint wasn't common at all: https://desuarchive.org/m/search/text/Philip%20kengo%20ankh/order/asc/
It is looking at things superficially since you're just judging a plot structure ignoring the character interactions, the rest of the cast or what the actual two-parter cases entail and you quite literally said
>Two parter with a character of the week format
>Two parter with a character of the week format, main cast consists of a trio (main rider, fujobait and heroine)
as if those are somehow unique to the trio and only Ankh died out of those three
You were never here before /krg/ was a thing
>>
Zeztz has become a background noise for me. Idk if I wanna continue. What's weird is that is not that bad, bit Takahashi fatigue is really killing me.
>>
>>23961834
They aren't close at all but I always liked the dynamic of Ryuki's trio, specially when it came to the comedy episodes.
But yes I think Saber are the trio that get along the most since the show actually puts a lot of focus on their friendship, while the ones that get along the least are 555's due to Kusaka being a factor and Zeztz since it was the staff's intention to have them not get along up to the end.
>>
>>23961933
I mean it's not that weird, Zeztz is like Geats where it's a show that is exciting on short term but uncohesive as a story which tends to be tolerated more by younger people kinda like most modern shounens. And unlike Inoue, Kobayashi and Arakawa who are capable to have their stories be really different from each other aside from the structures and general character outlines, Takahashi has way too many aspects that are shared between his shows causing him to overlap way more due to how often he's been hired, and he really isn't as good as someone like Arakawa, Kobayashi or even Takegami to justify being hired so often since his style only really works with Omori who's not even around anymore.
He's really only hired so often out of convenience. I like Zeztz more than Zero-One and Geats and I'm personally having fun with it but they really need to put a long break for hiring him in Rider after this. I mean Sentai almost died back in the early 90s due to hiring the same writer so often so it sucks that 3 different producers decided to hire him do close to each other.
>>
>>23961942
Exactly. Weirdly enough I mostly liked Geats, even though it's the show where where Takahashi fatigue really kicks in. Like you said Takahashi just needs to stay away from writing toku for a while, then maybe he could pull a Inoue-DonBrothers comeback.

Listing Saber kinda makes that unclear.
>>
>>23961915

For all of Decade's (some of which, are gigantic) flaws I feel like the general "atmosphere" of the show is extremely fucking good for what it is.
>>
>>23964171
The difference was that the rider had constantly interacting since Decade, whereas that wasn't the case before. All those Movie War Taisens and Winter Team Ups desensitized us.
>>
>>23964210
I mean I don't think you're wrong, but also, and this is definitely one of those Decade flaws, like 80% of the time Decade is NOT interacting with any riders we know. They're all just their weird AR version most of the time, so the show doesn't even feel like "wow this is crazy seeing previous riders interact" since they basically aren't.
>>
>>23964210
Nah, rewatch Decade episode 1 and Zi-O's episode 1. Decade manages to sell a much larger scale threat.

Tasaki was just off for Zi-O. Didn't seem to take it in general as seriously as he did Decade for general tone and atmosphere.

I stand by the main difference is just how the characters are handled. Don't get me wrong I actually like Sougo a lot as a protagonist, he's pretty fun, but the idea of him becoming Ohma Zi-O never feels like it makes any fucking sense. Decade isn't some active piece of shit or anything, but his general attitude and the way he carries himself does a really great job at selling the idea that he COULD be this big baddie everybody thinks he is.

>>23964237

>>
>>23962019
That was not a humiliation for him, he later saves that girl like a true hero.
>>
>>23964210
The key difference is that Decade is written to feel uncanny due to how the AU riders are meant to feel wrong, on top of that the show starts with us seeing Decade kill all Riders which immediately makes us see how much of menace he will become.
Meanwhile in Zi-O the scripts were written as vague as possible to account for whichever actor they were able to get back making the cameos feel awkward, then the show never shows us Oma Zi-O halving humanity, you still feel Sougo is becoming a threat since each time he gets a ride watch he's essentially stealing a Rider's power but it feels less tangible that Decade's threat.

I still like Zi-O lore as a show due to Decade's ending, I know the cliffhanger was planned from the beginning but I feel it would have been more tolerable had the original writer stayed up to the end.

They should've let him die, leave Minami as the protector of the real world instead.
>>
>>23964159
And then you watch the show and it's mostly Tsukasa talking like a NISIOISIN gag character until someone hits him over the head (or until Yuuseless gets hit over the head instead when Tsukasa needs to look competent) and a bunch of characters that will never be seen again after the next episode going through severe drama.

I'll never understand Toei's weird fixation with limited releases on YouTube.
>>
>>23964527
Toei's handling of Rider outside of Japan has always been borderline nonsensical.
>>
>>23964225
They could've done more to showcase Sougo's dark side, but the idea is that, despite having a "good" goal, he's been kind of putting on a mask to hide his pain and dark thoughts. It's handled in a rather subtle way, but it's clear (especially in scenes involving his uncle) that he does feel very lonely and simply tries to shrug it off in order to cope. He says some mildly disturbing stuff like confessing that he'd like to claim he wants to stand atop everyone and telling Woz that he kinda wishes an Another Rider would attack so he could see Geiz and Tsukuyomi again, which makes Woz glad because Sougo's displaying shades of Ohma's mentality in those instances, although Sougo always backs off and admits those things aren't right. It's clear that he doesn't go any further than that because Geiz and Tsukuyomi's influence is steering him away from his future self's dark path. But Ohma and Mirror Sougo are examples of what he could've become if he had remained alone and had no one to keep his dark impulses in check.

And according to Shirakura and the summer movie, Ohma wasn't even as evil as everybody painted him anyways, kinda like how Tsukasa wasn't truly evil when he went back to being the Great Leader or when he actively became the Destroyer of Worlds. Ohma's not the one who fucked his world up (the Quartzers did by planting world-ending robots that would awaken once Sougo got the power of Ohma), he just chose to fulfill his dream of being king by ruling alone on top of the ruins of his world, used his power to keep larping as king and to protect the monument that kept the memory of the Heisei Riders alive instead of sacrificing said power to save the world like the Sougo from the show did (a decision that Ohma himself met with amusement instead of disapproval), and he didn't even kill the rebels that went for his head under the incorrect assumption that he had been the one who caused the apocalypse, he just sent them away to another dimension.

>>
>>23964855
Bit of column A bit of column B, Gokaiger was kind of a miracle considering it was a horrific event that lead them to get back the amount of actors they did. It helps that Gokaiger was also just a very simple straight forward anniversary series. But Shirakura's overview and weird takes on the "meta" narrative of the franchise that get taken on board by the producers and writers. If you want a look at a good semi-anniversary series for Rider, Fourze is probably the best.
>>
>>23964855
Bit of both like the other anon explained, I'd add that it also helped Gokaiger and Fourze that they had great writers, meanwhile Decade's writer quite halfway through, Zi-O had a writer that allowed himself to get pushed over and then Revice just had a straight up bad writer.

Plenty, no, almost every form is CGI-hungry in a way. Orderm, all Technolom except Stream, all Paradigm, and Transform extensively use CGI for their powers, so it's hard to use them too much. Shockingly, ExDream is most likely gonna be the least used non-Kuuga Ultimate Final Form for the same reasons as the other CGI-hungry forms. The more busted a form, the more it relies on CGI.
>>
>>23964951
Pretty good, Lady's acting was on point and I surprisingly liked the scenes with Nox, Watanabe's horror direction continues to be a pleasant surprise and I also found the action direction to be better than usual.
The issue is that it's still an episode about Nox so his good moments like him finding resolve to be a rider or him finding Fujimi's antiques nostalgic don't really hit emotionally, if anything it's kinda of annoying considering how he's acted before. The ending of the battle was anti-climatic despite the fight itself being cool and the sound mixing was off? I don't know if it's due to Watanabe but there was a scene where the music overpowered the scene then there two times where the music transitioned weirdly.
Regardless I want Watanabe to direct more episodes, I wonder if he'll do a two-parter in Omegahorn since he's the action director there too.

Can anyone explain to me how filming around bike laws work?
I remember that Zero-One had to use a greenscreen truck and there was this non-Toei property back in 2009 that had to plan out to film when the police wasn't present. I'm just wondering why did they made a new bike for Nox just for this movie.

Is Taku Iwasaki expensive? I'm surprised they haven't gotten him for anything mainline.
>>
>>23965168
The usual methods besides greenscreen/compositing and CG:
>Put it on a truck bed and have the suit actor sit on the bike, film from angles where you don't see the truck
>Film on private lots that aren't subject to public road laws
>Do a lot of close-ups and careful shots of the suit actor on a skateboard or something and cut in some shots of the bike being swung around for bike-fu
>Never actually let the bike run, just move it around in neutral for a few key shots (So long as the bike isn't on, you can use it on public lots as a display piece)
>>
>>23965198
He mostly does stuff through Milan, not Avex, which probably complicates hiring him. Shin Kamen Rider had half a decade of production time meaning they had time to negotiate in that case. Shows don't have that luxury, most likely.
>>
>>23965198
They're probably trying to keep within a tone for mainline KR.
>>
>>23965168
The Road Traffic Act is incredibly strict on custom bikes (which most if not all KR bikes are.) They were put in place to stop bosozoku motorbike gangs but it also indirectly effected tokusatsu filming too. Also because of the part of law saying you always need to wear a helmet, actual suited up suit actors can't ride bikes in public anymore because it's considered too unsafe, which is why you usually see them only driving the bikes in out of the way places (and if it's public it's usually the face actors themselves driving around with helmets.)
Nox was also able to get a bike for the movie because they literally got it built to meet all the safety standards AKA it's expensive to do and they'd only do it for a movie.
>>
>>23965157

So in retrospect was there even any benefit to doing the whole "the first half of the show was just a dream" thing? What did they do with that setup that was interesting or grew out of that development? Outside of undoing deaths that happened in the episode immediately prior it doesn't seem like much happened with that. Most characters kinda just acted like the premonition happened anyways.
>>
>>23965699
The only character that benefitted from the reset imo were Baku, Lady and Zero. Fujimi and Nasuka became significantly less useful to the point even the staff had to admit it. Nox's lack of character development made the early positive advancements of the reset null, I feel like this in particular is what made the reset feel useless to most people since it felt the most wasteful. Three, Five and Six ended up dying and they didn't take advantage of the reset to explore them in depth, I mean we don't even know the names of two of them. For Nem the reset was a detriment for her character due to needing to relearn how to use her powers.
The reset didn't ruin the show for me since I liked Sieg and most of the plot developments but it's really only a twist made for shock value that would have flowed far better if they had hired someone who's used to writing late night dramas like the writers for Build, King-Ohger and their specials, rather than Takahashi who writes more like a Shounen manga writer.

2 years and they still haven't answered what happened to Lachesis's corpse, so it's hard to tell if there's still a chance to resurrect her or not.

>>
>>23965789
She became human by the time she died (which is why she didn't dissolve into a doll like her sisters) so her body has presumably been buried and has rotted away.

Unless Kyoka stored her in a freezer somewhere.
>>
>>23965811
I don't even know if there even is another alchemist who can recreate a human doll besides Geryon, which could hint that creating a doll human is considered taboo in the alchemical world. Just doesn't answer who made a second Lachesis.
>>
>>23965866
NTA, there's been just one Atropos, Clotho, and Lachesis in the main canon timeline
If Atropos were to be recreated, Rinne would be necessary. Easiest one to resurrect.
If Clotho were to be recreated, her original human model is also necessary. She could be Kanon's Amazons character, just for the laughs.
But the corpse of the original model for Lachesis (Risa) was lost, so they would need the body Spanner carried somewhere if they want to have a shot at resurrecting Lachesis.

The creation of homunculi based on real people does seem to be an obscure and taboo practice, though.

>So in retrospect was there even any benefit to doing the whole "the first half of the show was just a dream" thing?
Outside of the inital shock value, not really. We got a pair of interesting episodes that made good use of the premise of Baku taking advantage of his foreknowledge to change the future, but that got quickly thrown into the trash when Sieg got introduced and his presence completely derailed the events of the show. Five and Six ended up dying again anyways, and the apparent change in Nox's character where he seemingly became nicer was rendered null when he soon went back to being a complete faggot. The side characters like Nem and the cops, whose development got effectively erased, had to rethread and even speedrun their old character arcs to quickly restore the status quo. And they just shoved the victims of the week and their problems under the rug.

I think it would've been better and more interesting if the story had just kept going on after Baku murdered Nox's faggot ass and woke Nem up, instead of going directly into a "bad end" to set the shitty reset up.

Buddy, there's 7 Rival Rider figures in Q1. He's more than likely transforming, especially if the leaks refer to him as the monkey Rider rather than just the scientist.
>>
>>23966525
>there's 7 Rival Rider figures in Q1
I know but according to said listing none of them are the monkey, which is why idk if he'll be a case like Sabela who's already a recurrent character in Q1 but you don't see her as a rider until Q2. That or he'll be PB.
>>
>homunculi in Gotchard don't age, eat and presumably do other physiological functions

Monkey might be the Q2 rider with a lot of Sun Wukong influence.

Zeztz Summer Movie Farewell Dream Spoiler (I don't know if the source is truthful) explaining who Kamen Rider Mugen is
The main villain of Zeztz Summer Movie aka Kamen Rider Mugen or Shuma is Nox Cousin? (that make sense if he have a repainted version of Nox Driver) his family used to be the one protect world from nightmares even before CODE exist so after he get Daydream Capsem and become safety committee he take revenge on CODE in this timeline CODE was nearly destroyed and almost every CODE Number died to him and there only Baku and Nox alive. He use Daydream Capsem to fuse Real and Dream World then explode National Police Organization and took the blame on Baku, so Nox was sent to catch Baku basically want them to fight each other but after all Nox still want to believe Baku tell Baku to not give up but that only led to Mugen kill Nox but currently Dream World and Real World are one so Baku Exdream reverse time kinda useless and only led to Nox dying, dying and dying over and over again. What can Baku can possibly do to stop this loop?

Can someone verify if this is true?
>>
>>23966585
I don't think he'll be the January Rider since they're usually brand new characters
Unless it's a Genesis Rider situation where it's a set of riders

So... How long was I out when the Neo DecaDriver end up on FUCKING RETAIL this October? This feels all too familiar. Still waiting for the Premium DX Beat Closer, even if they don't include another Lock Fullbottle because they shot themselves in the foot adding it in a SUPER BEST Fullbottle Set...

How they don't do it open air style like the Zeztz presscon because it's more awkward that way

I'm looking forward to seeing Rid's actor and the extended trailer that reveals the overall story. Plus hearing a more full version of One Shot.

They're doing it that way, it's being held at TV Asahi Summer Fes event like last year

Damn hopefully it isn't as awkward this time
Also weird they chose this approach since Omegahorn's presscon was at the usual location

So are all the Geats re-release and memorial stuff just for China and the west? According to the sales chart, it barely did better than Revice.
>>
>>23967288
The show is popular in Japan too, Reiwa sales being lower from Saber onward and the other sharp decline with Gavv is partly due to the declining economy. Geats post-show stuff helped with Gotchard's Q1 according to some nips but most sales still came from the cards, I don't know how true that is since I haven't seen any source.
But also every show gets post-series stuff, I don't quite get why Geats lasted longer than most but the memorial stuff is still mainly intended for Japan regardless, then the Chinese second and the west weren't really considered for said re-releases.

Because even years after it aired, people talk positive about it, or reflect positively about it. The only time Revice or Gotchard gets brought up is when some English speaking autistic sperg on twitter wants to state how much they love some vague aspect of it that happens to be present in all SHT tokusatsu.

nta but I've been keeping up with Kamen Rider with W and I like Geats, I just don't think it's a particularly impressive show just a 7/10 show, same with Zeztz.
But regardless ignoring both you and the anon you're replying to Geats is popular in Japan, I think only Saber, Revice and Gotchard are the only unpopular Reiwa seasons in Japan and even the not by much from what I've seen. Zero-One is a weird case where from what I see most people were negative during Zero-One's middle in Japan but Covid sort of shift their outlook.
>>
>>23967300
Revice and Gotchard are the only Reiwa shows with a post-show novel, and the latter is getting a bunch of Memorial stuff too.

>As soon as Shirakura appeared, he threw out a provocative statement: "Do you think recent Kamen Rider series are interesting? I haven't found any recently that interesting." He continued, "I think it's strange that Amazon is still the most unconventional series when Kamen Rider is celebrating its 45th anniversary. As more people get involved, the things that can be done are limited and it has become bland. With this 'Amazons,' I want to restore the fangs to Kamen Rider, which has had its fangs removed."

Not a complain since Tasaki is really versatile but I'm surprised Toei only started varying pilot directors for Rider recently

Even moreso considering Metal Heroes and Super Sentai would shake up pilot directors pick fairly constantly compared to Rider and Fushigi Comedy
>>
>>23967582
Heisei also had Miyazaki as action director for most seasons (which is why it easily has the worst average fights of the three eras) as well as Takaiwa in the suit for all but two. Inoue was also working on all but one season in Phase 1.
>>
>>23967643
I get those more since there aren't many action directors so they change rarely, action directors are the ones who pick suit actors so that's partly why Taikawa was picked so often. Then Inoue is because Shirakura did most of early Heisei Rider and Shirakura literally admitted that he tried to hire Inoue whenever possible because he's his drinking buddy which is a really arbitrary reason to hire a writer, that's also why Inoue did Changerion and Hakaider, Shirakura only stopped doing it after Hibiki because he started feeling bad for relying on Inoue after hiring him for such a short notice in Hibiki.

Is Nox the worst secondary we've ever had?
>>
>>23967858
Honestly I think he is. Even widely derided secondaries like Live and Tycoon at least transformed regularly and did things. Nox spends most of his time standing around doing fuck all aside from vagueposting. You're given no reason to give a shit about his character and he transforms so infrequently that you tend to forget he's even a Rider in the first place.

Ibuki is better, he's just there, but he also doesn't make the show worse by being actively awful like Nox does, plus he has more of a relationship with the side characters than Nox does. Nox fluctuates between being a non-entity and being a terrible character that brings the whole show down with his presence, he's like Ibuki and Kiriya rolled into one.
