How do feel about Mikazuki?
I haven't watched his show yet
How do feel? Don’t know. Not watch show.
>>23972724Wasted potential.
Completely stupid wasted potential not covering events of Calamity War. The unit name is also hilariously cringe. IBO is as fujoshit pandering than 00 or Wing.
>>23972789Retard alert.
Solid character. I feel like everyone was let down by Season 2, it really hurt it to be so different from Season 1 which was great.
>>23972724Barely actually a character.
>>23972793Kill yourself, Calamity War hater.
>>23972724Based midget that mogs the Witches.
Lacking like a cardboard cutout for every Gundam protag in the last decade. The last good protags in Gundam were in Thunderbolt
>>23972724Not much of an mc but head honchos main head hunter. I get that they were trying to make orga the brains of the duo but they did not develop the main cast enough to make it work. Still he's a fun take on gundam protags being ammoral murderhobos.
>>23972724charisma black hole, possibly the worst protagonist of all timeI get being like that is the point but it's still FUCKING BORING
Honestly I think he's one of the better characters in the show but that's not really saying much. I actually like that he doesn't have a real character arc and he more or less stays the same throughout the show and just adapts to circumstance.
>>23972724>Rival antagonist but as mcI mean when you think about it, he was mogging everyone in the series.
>>23972789>nooo you can't have any mystery or intrigue, you MUST explain EVERYTHING!!midwit reddit take
>>23973512>Rival antagonist but as mcWhat. The rival would be focused on the mc, that's their primary shared characteristic. He didn't really care about any of his enemies.
>>23972724He is like my Patrick Bateman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4s-MHCGD3Y
>>23972724"What if Gundam, but also a Yakuza movie for a teen audience?" is a pretty wild concept, you gotta admit.
>>23972724I like how he starts, but then it seems like he has no development in 50 episodes, and even Orga's death seems to affect him too little considering that for 50 episodes, Mika seems to have almost an adoration for him.Mika's speech upon Orga's death seems also out of character because Mika has never demonstrated such a level of leadership in 50 episodes, and then out of nowhere he starts giving inspirational speeches. For this reason, I think the story derailed at a certain point to chase other characters (Gaelio or the author self insert). I expected Orga's death from episode 1 and Mika forced to evolve accordingly, but the way they did it in the show doesn't make sense to me.
If he raped Carta issue and maybe went out of his way to capture more female pilots and rape them too, he would have probably been a more realistic depiction of a child soldier.
>>23978272>we get fed and they have a witch doctor who hands us spells that will protect me from those mobile suit beam cannons.
>>23978272He already had two wives.
>>23972724He literally got worse as the show went on. Like, in the first cour he actually had some characterization, interesting interactions with other cast members, and wasn't a flat cardboard cutout. Everything from the second half of S1 onward could basically just be summarized as doing what Orga tells him to do. He was just boring to watch because he had negative character development.
>>23972724very confusing character development. Like he was clearly meant to be a flat static character. You can make barbs sentient and it wouldn't change the anime much.
>>23972724Feral monster child central character that trades off basic charisma for sheer competence in terms of piloting. Also gets lost in the sauce way too much because of extraneous things always happening around him he's barely involved outside of combat.Okada badly needed to understand that moral ambiguity does not equate that your protagonists should be kill crazy psychopaths.
>>23972724I think he's pretty neat he's the Anti-Newtype protagonist in a way. He never grows to understand his enemies repeatedly cutting down people whose deaths make his group's situation worse. He loses parts of his body rather than parts of his mind as the story goes on the inverse of how a Gundam Protag normally goes. I think his character would have been better if he ultimately survived the final fight, not won but survived Barbatos is still scrapped and he probably lost his ability to use his last functional leg but he isn't killed he lives and as an act of "mercy" he and the remaining members of Tekkadan are spared by Rustal as child soldiers being manipulated by McGillis Fareed as a full turnabout of the normal reach an understanding plot Gundam has. Afterwards he's added to the final scene with his two wives wheelchair bound with a small smile on his face playing with his son having found a small bit of happiness in a world that he always thought he wouldn't be able to live in.
>>23979067I don't think child soldiers would have morals, it's just "what benefits my gang".
>>23975554It doesn't seem like he was the type of character to really undergo significant changes. His lack of interest in anything other than his friends, muted expressions/emotions and essentially skipping the stage of being callow as a pilot/combatant really limited him.The speech was out of place for him, he wasn't a talker, but trying to take care of his cohorts and finding some way to get killed sort of fits for a reaction to Orga's death. If the story shifted away from a certain character I'd put it as Kudelia and it moved to McGillis.Wouldn't call that a derailment as McGillis was always important in driving the story and then by S2 it really centered around him. Mika was still constantly in the spotlight hitting something with his oversized weapon, but he was never really driving the story. I felt like they had an idea of who they wanted the main character to be and not what they could do with him.>>23978272By the title I'd think they'd be more in the vein of Tekketsu Kinnōtai, https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%89%84%E8%A1%80%E5%8B%A4%E7%9A%87%E9%9A%8A Which were also nothing like what was portrayed in the show.
>>23972724he's okay
He's interesting and uninteresting at the same time. I think he serves his purpose quite well as a tragic character. He's born human trash, he gives everything and gets nothing in return. He won't even be remembered or recognized individually as a warrior sinply because it'd be bad PR for Gallahorn. He's probably fine with it too since he had no aspirations aside from maybe farming, but he had to give that up rather quickly and it's not like the show touched on it again. Personality wise he's stoic, which makes him incredibly boring (to me). He had his moments like when he had to rescue Atra or when he painted a Graze with it's own pilot. >>23979144That ending would have been interesting to have. A little bit of a cop-out but he's going to be crippled and mourning his best friend. Kind of funny how Kamille's bad ending is Mika's good ending.
Discount Heero
>>23973189I hope you meant manga cause the anime was just a shiny commerical.
>>23972724Fun protag. I miss this murder midget.
>>23982661Heero was cool and sexy.
>>23982836Relena please.
>>23982661Mika was cool and sexy.
>>23972724He was okay
>>23972724he my husband… Jokes aside, I feel like he is a tragic character in his stagnation. Sure, he was crippled both figuratively and literally due to his upbringing, but he was also given a pretty rough hand in life (fitting to the general theme of the series I guess). I'm glad to see that I wasn't crazy to think that his character took a nose dive the second half of season 1. Had not seen such blatant fujo pandering since SEED, though, his design really compliments Orga's aesthetically, much as I hate to admit it. And the fact that they had to give him two wives to tone down the gay still makes me chuckle.I like him a lot and his design is very iconic but honestly him being super serious at times gives the wrong impression about him not having feelings and all. He just wanted to find a place and eventually plant shit.
I waited the entire show for him to snap and it just didn't happen.
Stale but I like him. There's this one scene where the gang is eating and mika looks at the food as if it's bad, then adds some of those little fruits he eats all the time on orga's plate. Shame there isn't more moments like this. Other than that I just really like murderhobo characters. Barbatos sexo.
>>23972724I do like the fact he straight up murdered Carta and her men. He didn’t even wait for them to get into their MS. It was kind of cool seeing an MC just slaughtering the enemy for revenge, without even really giving a fuck about how unheroic it was.
>>23972724One of the last gundam protags I genuinely liked. And unlike heero or setsuna. Remained a mostly amoral murder autist. Still wished he survived in his own series. And fuck srw for never putting him in a main game
>>23985702I wasn't sold on it. It's not like anyone else ever did anything like it. It's not established as this super honorable setting where you are expected to tell people your titles first, and it was a big shock he wouldn't respect it. They literally just show up defenseless acting like dumb assholes and get shocked when they get attacked. Everyone goes ape over it being super cool and hardcore but yeah, why wouldn't he? Why did they expect he wouldn't? It's never established that this would be respected by anyone else either and that any random graze pilot wouldn't just start blasting on sight. IBO is like this more often than not.
>>23985729I enjoy seeing nepo babies and overgrown theater kids being hit with the cold harsh reality of the world. Preferably with a chainsawmace.
>>23985748I like watching shows with writing that establishes why characters perform the actions they do, so the whole thing was a bust for me.
>>23985748Yeah but the narrative thought it was bad and Gjallarhorn were the good guys in the end which kind of ruined it
>>23972724Literally too stupid to live.
>>23972724Murder midget who double down on Orga's bullshit which led to their demise.
>>23972724Great character, but wasted potential of course season 2 fucked everyone over so that is kind of obvious
>>23985729The world of IBO is filled with atrocities for the sake of profit and order and Gjallarhorn is a mix of just people who believe in the mission of Gjallarhorn and order, people who know everything is a lie but continue anyway, and people who just use their mobility and private to do what they want.Issue is outside of Crank you don't really get any of Gjallarhorn realize everything about honor and justice is just a lie. IBO is a setting filled with political intrigue written by retards and filled with characters who themselves are children or retarded
>>23986175>Gjallarhorn were the good guysWhat a stupid cope. Both sides were inheritly terrible. And gj rustal was forced to reorganize due to two fat fucks. That said the seeds of tekkadan were sown once biscuit dies and any sort of rational voice in the leader circle died with him.S2 was sheer bullshit with the amount of plot armor rustal trio had.
>>23985729Carta is also a retard who never fought for real I believe
>>23972724Orga, tell me what to think about Mikazuki
>>23988386He an ice cold down 4 da turf nigga 4real.
The way he act makes a lot of sense if you take into consideration his life. but it doesn't really fit for a main character of a 50 episode anime. I don't hate him though he's simply a bit weird
How did he figure out benis goes in bagina? Did they explain it to him as gundam piloting analogies?
>>23987783I have no issue with the basic plot points or outcomes of season 2 but how everything is executed and how characters are written is why I hate season 2.
>>23989443Gai standing in front of him like: What the fuck is going on.
>>23973189>Lacking like a cardboard cutout for every Gundam protag in the last decade.Nice of you to admit you don't watch Gundam and are just here to shitpost.
>>23989443what game is this?
>>23989484SRW 30.
>>23972724Is he even the protagonist of IBO? He feels like a rabid dog and Orga is the muzzle that restrains him.
>>23990680it follows him around so it sure as fuck can't be anyone else
>>23990680That's the point, he was used as a child worker and soldier most of his life. someone like that can't really act like a regular person unless they have heavily supervised. Orga meanwhile was a mafia guy with maybe some good intentions but still a mafia guy. They were close, but Mika still was a living weapon.Mika being the way he is, is very well done to show how badly being a child soldier can disconnect someone from regular life. but it also doesn't make for a very endearing protagonist due many of his emotions being stunned or abnormal. If anything, it's many of the support cast like Orga or even Mcgillis who feels closer to "main character materials", though they also subvert this a little. The setting of that show is darker than all the other Gundam worlds.
>>23990680Gaelio was the protagonist
>>23991139I like gaelio but he feels less of a character and more of a 'what if garma got his revenge against char.'
>>23991114The thing is Orga had the same background as Mika, he was also a child soldier. Orga didn't become big in the mafia till after Tekkadan started. Both of them weren't even Human Debris they were just regular orphans. Yet somehow Orga ended up decently adjusted while Mika was a fucking nutcase. Even when they worked for CGS they all pointed out how Mika going for more and more AV implants despite the danger and despite one being more than enough for his needs and all everyone else had made him weird even beyond most standards.
>>23988752I didn't think execution was all that great in the first season, but it didn't feel as aimless as the second. It felt like a lot of characters hit a wall between seasons.>>23991831After Mika coached Kudelia on etiquette I took him more as a collection of traits to look cool rather than as a cogent character.
Just started this. Finished Seed and dropped Destiny around episode 17. That shit was so boring. Hopefully this is decent.
>>23972724I think he's dead and he deserved it
>>23972724Does his show improve as it goes on?13 episodes in and I like what it does but hate how bland it does it in like 75% of the scenes.
I don't really. I barely felt like I knew the guy by the time the show ended. He seemed like he was too busy carrying out other people's wills to be his own person. And then he died.
>>23973512If a "rival" character lacked agency the way Mikazuki does, the hero would essentially have to be carrying all the fucking weight in their rivalry.
>>23985729I agree. It presented it as if Mikazuki dealing with them in a dishonorable way was subversive, but nothing about the setting or the established factions made it seem like honor was anything more than a platitude, so it just felt like idiots making a rookie mistake late in their career.
>>23984791Mika is on the uglier side of Gundam protagonists. His eyes, mostly. It doesn't help that he's mostly standing next to Orga
>>23972724I can't be bothered to finish his Barbatos I kit.
