Stronger enough that Suletta can only do about 1k per attack. So the best I can do is about 6k damage before the battle auto ends. He has about 8k health. Cant use assist links and he three taps her if I don't use intuition every turn.

I can see why people think it's a step up from 30, it's overall a decent entry, but my main criticisms of it are:

>>

Y was so bland and boring I didn't even bother playing the 2nd wave of DLC and I won't play the expansion but given the amount of cope posting I saw on release here I'm not surprised people are defending this practice and BB Studio remastering only Hakai-hen at full price for next year.

Do you think it's a mistake that Bamco is keeping the "2" in Z2 Ruination Remaster for the global release? People with no prior knowledge of the series who may have been interested in it could potentially pass on it if they think they're missing a lot by not playing the previous game that they can't play in English.
>>

I don't think it matters much

I feel like W comes closest to this
>Timeskip in the middle of the game lets you cap off certain plotlines so everyone gets their story told (Nadesico, TV GGG, Endless Waltz, FMP S1)
>Seed takes a backseat in the first half since it just dominated the games before it (Alpha 3 and J) and lets the Astray stuff take the spotlight, but it's still doing most of SEED's plot post-time skip
>Wing kinda falls off after the timeskip since they do pretty much all of EW in the first half, but Duo is still chummy enough with Kazuya that it's alright

The only series that's just "there" is Shin Getter Robo since it's pretty just there to be part of Final Dynamic Special. Every other series is at least bringing something to the plot.
>>
>>23976894
EW doesn't really do anything in the first half either, let's be real. It's relevant for like one stage in the entire game
I also really can't remember what FMP TSR was bringing to the table apart from Minamikaze, I have zero recollection of Gates showing up or anything like that

Also for first timers the whole "Yeah you guys jumped to a different dimension where alternate versions of your friends live and because of that the versions you knew didn't make the jump and are wiped from existence" thing will lose all impact.
>>
>>23976907
>but every series brought something to the table, or had something to do.
Not Dunbine
It's really kind of arguable with Sangokuden too since the scenario is so far removed from what the original show is about. There was so much more to the show than just duels with Lu Bu, but that's all you get in UX
>>
I mean with some of the logic here which series in Y actually has nothing to do? Even with Majestic Prince losing their spotlight from 30 they still have their villain and some of their plot.

Y has Char be more involved with the general plot with the whole good guy neo zeon thing and obviously Zeta actually has stuff going on too

>Also for first timers the whole "Yeah you guys jumped to a different dimension where alternate versions of your friends live and because of that the versions you knew didn't make the jump and are wiped from existence" thing will lose all impact.

People keep saying that Astray got focus over TV but I disagree. Archangel may not join until Alaska but they cover almost every relevant moment of TV and many of them are mandatory too.
Wing and FMP are too weak spots with the two part structure. This was the perfect time to do the very end of TV as one of the major climaxes in Part 1 and then we could do EW along with PoD and the other stuff in Part 2. Instead of the Wing boys kinda sorta existing the background of the SEED plot. FMP is annoyingly dragged out because Part 1 finishes with Behemoth instead of Gauron and then TSR can be completely skipped outside of like Kaname being kidnapped until what the Valzacard stage or somewhere similarly late.
>>
>>23976933
No Fatlus attached the SMT name to every single SMT spinoff in the west until around P5 where they finally dropped it from non-mainline SMT.
>>
>>23976934
Part 1 having TV Wing and Part 2 having EW would have been a bit neat yeah.

Have we ever had a game, come to think of it, that did the plots of both in the same? I can't remember if Alpha had both, and I recall 64 had the EW versions as just upgrades to the TV versions. (Which were mostly worse than a fully-upgraded TV version as I recall.)
>>
>>23976928
How many Z2 shows are in DD?
>>
>>23976937

>>
>>23976932
>>23976933
Dimension hopping can at least work into the plots, since its already an element in Gridman Universe
It all depends on the cast list.
>>
>>23976888
>Also for first timers the whole "Yeah you guys jumped to a different dimension where alternate versions of your friends live and because of that the versions you knew didn't make the jump and are wiped from existence" thing will lose all impact.

This is a dumb Z3 thing when the Z1 and Z2 worlds are fused and they recover the memories from the previous world later on. The doubles that weren't in Z2 are conveniently the ones that don't return in Z3's new world. It has actually nothing to do with whether they were in the Z2 world or not. Everyone was back to their worlds by the time this happens.

In Z2, it's just a matter of recognizing this world has similar people and then returning to their world. Basically, the same thing as the DLC characters in 30.
>>
>>23976937
>>23976939
64 is the best adaptation of TV. I'm not sure who I'd say did EW the best because despite its billion appearances, not many games actually DO EW's plot beyond a single filler stage.
Alpha 1 was basically TV but the boys get the EW machines on a Dunbine map as a super prototype upgrade.
>>
>>23976940
>Dimension hopping can at least work into the plots, since its already an element in Gridman Universe

Gridman Universe's world will 100% be just a isolated pocket dimension like the city in 30. They'd never make it so any other licensed series was created by Gridman's memories/imagination.
>>
>>23976946
No? They could easily connect Gridman creating the other universe and Lalah creating the Gquuuuux ones together and link them, making Dynazenon crew from the same world as Machu.

Probably can come up with similar ones

Alpha 1 does the Wing plot, but, yeah, the Wing units aren't permanent until the plot is done and you get the Endless Waltz upgrades (which here are framed as the original designs for the Gundams that were toned down when produced, like an entire line up of Wing Zeroes). For EW, it only does the bunker shot dialogue, but on the Angel Halo with Heero attacking. They do this again in Alpha 3, but with an actual bunker.

Alpha Gaiden has the EW plot, but resolves it very quickly in the first few stages before the time jump.

Actually Endless Waltz plot

I'm not saying you can't write it, I'm saying no way they'd be allowed to make other licensed shows part of Gridman's inner world, aside from Dynazenon if they somehow bring back the series, not just the units for the movie. It's just not happening.

That's really different from everyone being an artificial creation of a character from another show. It's likely why the Gridman city is just a pocket dimension in 30 in the first place. Dynazenon was integrated with the other shows in Y because the part about it being another artificial creation is only revealed in Gridman Universe and Y was allowed to change that and just make it part of the normal world.

I can imagine Tsuburaya and TRIGGER wouldn't mind the SRW team tweaking a few plot points to help Universe interact with other stories properly, they seem really eager to let SRW really use Gridman and Dynazenon, especially making up new secret units like Relive or letting them do a voice actor joke with Masaki being Gridman's host for a bit in DD. If we ever got SSSS. Gridman again I doubt they'd do the same standalone Gridman city either, that seemed like a swing and a miss.

I am once again asking if the DLC characters get to speak in the base game now, and not just in the expansion scenarios. And if we get to keep any of the new attacks in the base game campaign.

>I am once again asking if the DLC characters get to speak in the base game now

Nope, just in-battle quotes like before.

>And if we get to keep any of the new attacks in the base game campaign.

Nope. They're all tied to story progression like the new attacks/upgrades you'd get in the main plot itself, so you only get them once the corresponding story event happens and can't carry them to replays unlike your resources and parts.

Unironically, Code Geass is probably one of the best candidates to expand with.

Lost Stories is TV plot with additional character and plotline worked in. It'd be easy to just add them in and do their stuff.
Lancelot & Guren is a more recent manga that expanded Suzaku and Kallen and gave them sidekicks, and otherwise just added additional stuff in the normal plot.

If anything could be added in with minimal work, its these two into Hakai and Saisei respectively as debuts.

No. 64 and Z2 are the only games worth talking about as actual adaptations of Wing and I prefer 64 because they actually bothered to explore stuff like what would happen if you actually sat there with Relena when she tries the complete pacifism thing in Sanc Kingdom. If after Z2 they move on to Z3 (REALLY unlikely, because its Z3) I could see them replacing R2 with Re;surrection since it'd make more sense since stuff past R2 exists now, and they already stapled Geass onto EW as it is.

DW3 Remastered is done on Origin's engine, will feature the MC from that game as well as gameplay changes that wasn't in the original+new content like battles that wasn't in the original either.

They say they want the game to be as close to the original as possible but even so there's clearly big additions
>>
>>23977122
I mean, it's not to "spite" the fans. But, yeah, he wanted to do something darker and felt limited by the morning timeslot, so when the sequels got greenlit he attempted to push them closer to his original intentions.
>>
>>23977122
Its probably not outright spite, but more that this stuff is more true to his own artistic vision more, and without people to push back or keep him in check you get his unfiltered ideas.

Though what the last movie did to the game cast felt mean spirited, so maybe there is some spite or bitterness.
>>
>>23977121
>changed the important SMT1 reference in the original
There's more than one SMT1 reference and those were kept. They also brought a side-quest that was originally in Raidou 2 for some reason where you time travel to defeat the SMT1 final boss and stop the chaos forces from gathering under him.
>>
>>23977144
>>23977145
Maybe, but I wouldn't be surprised if fans of the original took it as spiteful. Considering many of them hate the sequels.

that remastered actually removed multiplayer entirely and changed the way save files work
>>
>>23977180
Did they rerecord Cagalli's lines with the new actress?
>>
>>23977173
No. They bench it because no one likes Pocket Full of Rainbows. Comparing Spec V to Spec 3 sure is a choice considering that Spec 3 by nature has to be overtuned due to it being a final stage only unit that IIRC cant be in a TRI.

As for Spec 3/Spec V, as far as Hakai goes, Renton basically gets to spend the entire game leveraging S Air on his unit plus weapons because not many stages in that game take place in space. It's also blessed with 3 pilots, +30 SP to all three pilots on ace bonus and unlike Daiguard isnt an obnoxious parts whore to fix a litany of problems baked into the unit. All you want is a Dustproofing/A Adapter/DM item to fix the land terrain modifier during Spec 2. Did you know that Spec V carries Attune, Hope, Zeal, Daunt, Soul, Courage and many other useful spirits all on one kit? On top of Eureka still getting SP Regen for whatever reason?
No Seven Swell MAPW sucks but the thing is far from a bad unit. Its just stuck on a very unpopular body.

>>
>>23977209
honestly though, what are people even expecting out of a 2004 Tetsujin SRW appearance? There's no way they could ever actually adapt the plot, it wouldn't make any fucking sense in SRW. You can't have a plot about people moving on from war when the game is literally set in the middle of a war
>>
>>23977213

>>
>>23977218
You'll have to be a bit more specific, the princess of peace is a common Gundam trope, and 00/wing is a peace through escalation of tensions/non war thing as well so its not unheard of to be "non war" in mecha
>>
>>23977230
The central conflict of Tetsujin 28 2004 is about post WII Japan wanting to dismantle the eponymous robot because it's a relic of the WWII era that everyone is trying to move on from. This conflict is nonsensical in SRW, where every title has a currently ongoing war.

DLC 1, 2 and Expansion start from chapter 2 (as soon as you gain the ability to choose your stages and the difficulty setting kicks in) and then you unlock more chapters as you advance in the main plot.

The Anniversary Expansion is post-game only.

>I heard that the custom BGM has some issues with it, where they resluved with later updates of the game

The problem is that Y doesn't have BGM replacement options outside of battle BGM. So, the music that plays in events is always the default soundtrack not your custom one, which is only used for battles. The Music Pack does add new songs that are used by events in the base game stages too (in addition to being able to set up as battle bgms, of course).

I wouldn't bother convincing anyone here unless we hear about Amruo getting replaced, which at this point they might just stop using him and Char in future games.
>>

Well it's too bad I don't care about dragon ball
>>
>>23976780
oh fuck, yeah I meant UI. It seems to be a criticism across the board so hopefully they address it next game

>>
>>23977371
I don't know why your larping as a serial killer
It's not like haman was an outright bloodlusting murderer
She just had zero inhibitions towards killing people
Hell I could argue not even yazan was bloodyhirsty, he just liked combat
I can't think of anyone in UC who is bloodthirsty except maybe gihren, io Fleming, and most titans leadership like bask om and hymen
>>
>>23977377
>which at this point they might just stop using him and Char in future games.
They won't.

Were you one of the delusional retards who thought he wouldn't be in Y?
>>
>>23977374
I went with 01 because Origin had 01 and 02 both on Side 7 at the same time but in different locations, so it would work for Char to steal one and Amuro to stumble upon the other in the ensuing chaos. Besides, since I don't think we'd get to directly see any of the Gqux OYW stuff, relegating it to exposition means they wouldn't have to show it to us anyway.
>>
>>23977383
He did in T
>>
>>23977387
To be fair amuro mostly plays second fiddle to char in Y in terms of political importance, although you could argue that's a perfect parallel to the dynamics they occupied in zeta and CCA
>>
>>23977388
You could have some batshit timeline merging plot and an excuse to fight all 3 zakus and 3 different permutatjons of the black tri stars
Anything to avoid CCA and possibly zeta
They need a fucking break
>>
>>23977388
Anon, I get where you're coming from. Yes, there are ways Amuro COULD still be a pilot. But the real issue you're avoiding is the desire to do so might not be there so as to preserve its setting. Without wanting to, there is no point to imagining how it could be done.

You're getting multiple worlds next game whether you like it or not.
>>
>>23977394

>>23977398
I should say I don't explicitly hate CCA, I just think the choreography was best in Z3
As for zeta it's literally been its worst in 30 and Y in terms of music and choreography but I like the writing in both 30 and Y
But holy fucking shit if you can't license anything for them properly the sazabi and nu Gundam are fucking done
Fa is irreplaceable though with how the methuss is typically implemented

They're going to show up in every game, yeah, but Z2 was the last time we had a pre CCA Amuro, there's been a ton of OYW content that came out since Z2 and it's high time they stop ignoring it. CCA can still be the game just to have Nu and Sazabi as upgrades or whatever, but give it a rest and let the UC characters actually do shit

Really felt like they regretted not being able to fully adapt it originally.
Now that they've played it about 95% straight I want to see them add some actually interesting secrets like Sophie or Schwarzette whenever it next shows up in the series. Dunno if it'll be in the next game; that one is probably gonna focus on GQX and SEED Freedom.

Y had pretty meh secrets in general outside of Relive. Definitely something they should improve on for the next game.

GQX and Roze are the only real safe bets.

A pretty popular request I've seen is Sentai Red Isekai. No idea yet how possible or likely it is.
We're still waiting on the last Rebuild of Eva movie. Might be locked to DD though which is why it still hasn't shown up.

I can't think of anything else of note.

Eva 3.0 + 1.0
Kinda blown away that it was in neither DD nor Y

>>
>>23977463
Gridman Universe was limited, not a full debut. Like Arc was. So its shot and Grendizer U are pretty good.
>>
>>23977463

How much of Rebuild has DD done? Has Mari even shown up yet?
>>
>>23977473
Hasn't even done 3.33 yet, still stuck at 2
>>
>>23977458
New Brave is likely, they seem to be running through them
Since our only remaining debut options are Fighbird, Goldran and Dagwon, it would almost definitely end up being Dagwon
>>
>>23977473
We aren't going to get GGG FINAL at this point either
>>
Now how about returning series that haven't appeared in a long time it would be interesting to see Daimos and Dragonar return or any of the Z2 series probably Gurren Lagann.
>>
>>23977481
I was thinking Daimos was likely as they probably want some other 70s thing to do that they haven't done in awhile. Round out the Nagahama trilogy in HD and all
It'd be funny if Raideen comes back too and Akira Kamiya ends up doing a combo attack with himself
>>
>>23977472
Yeah, it is conspicuously absent considering all the other things that have gotten into DD

Promare
Gundam Origin and Thunderbolt

I got no clue how that would effect it.

>>23976726

>>
Now which series from Y are most likely to return in the next game aside from the usual suspects of Zeta and CCA? Arc maybe? Endless Waltz to put with Roze?
>>
>>23977482
Hey, if they got Kamiya back for the Combattler/Raideen combo maybe they could have asked him to record a few extra lines for his other roles for a future title
>>
>>23977532
Their original versions were exactly a year apart, I don't see it being much faster than that.
>>
>>23977535
Dyanzenon to go with Universe, Resurrection to go with Roze maybe Delta for units if they do Zettai Live
>>
>>23977501
I wounder if the Rayearth remake can reuse the T/30 animations (with the new VAs) if it gets added in SRW, or if they have to redraw all of them
>>
>>23977535
You know, I think Mazinkaiser might be sticking around too. Mazinger's in kind of a weird spot where they obviously wanted Grendizer U to succeed but it didn't, so that probably kind of threw off their plans so maybe they'll just coast for awhile
>>
>>23977537
Unless they add new stuff or change things, part of the process is already done since its already written, stages planned, etc.
>>
>>23977539
Probably will depend on how different the Rune Gods look. Though, for Kaiser movie they just used the Shin versions.
>>
>>23977538
I think besides the show plot the only thing they'd lose out on from not including Dynazenon with Universe would be the Kaiju Club/Relive and their regular kaiju to use as enemies
>>
>>23977535
I think with the effort they put into Dunbine this game, we'll see it again. Just loke L-Gaim from 30 to Y, though no idea if that will stay. They are both low cost inclusions though.

Maybe we get more isekai series with it.
>>
>>23977545
They are at the point where they can actually do the Dunbine plot
>>
>>23977545
Considering Evil Lord got into DD, I wouldn't be surprised if they put Mobuseka in since it's by the same author.
>>
>>23977545
We'll see it again, yes, because they can't fucking stop putting it in, it's been in every damn game for the last decade except 30. BB studio have to be major fanboys of it or something
>>
>>23977546
Show and Togo, friends for no reason
>>
>>23977540
I felt the same about Infinity. From what I've heard, the movie was good but they didn't translate it well into SRW which is probably why they ended up replacing it with Kaiser movie, otherwise I feel like they would have used it more like with Shin.
>>
>>23977550
Dunbine has a pretty dedicated fanbase. It got one of the most extensive Robot Damashii lines and occasionally gets new stuff.

Its a cool series so I don't mind.
>>
>>23977538
I wonder if Lelouch will get his Byakuya Gekkoei Sui for Roze and Suzaku and Nunnally get their thing from the mobile game.
>>
>>23977554
I hope they use Infinity more, I just like its version of the characters. I'd love if it got more Infinitism and Dynamic Planning expansion. Could even have this older Koji a mentor to Duke rather than the U version.
>>
>>23977560
Arc and Infinity could work with Koji playing a mentor role
>>
>>23977559
I think somewhere, be it in Z2R or just next game, we'll see more Lost Stories stuff make it into SRW because I think the Geass team clearly wants it in.
>>
>>23977561
They need to make actual Lisa Kabuto a playable character.

And it's just straight up awful in just about every aspect. >>
>>23977689

Not relevant. Also Satelight made an Isekai movie with what you're interested in back in 2019.
>>
>>23977695
Nah, it's the best of both world actually.
>>
>>23977691
I mentioned 3 points and you focused on just that? Not on the fact that Red wants to go back because he has friends and family that genuinely love and respect him as a hero, which is important to this particular anime given that a central theme is the power of bonds between people, and it builds up on Super Sentai theme of the power of friendship?
>>
>>23977692
No lines either outside of the Expansion 1 treasure stages, final battle and epilogue, and in the final chapter they speak after the mc attacks, like other supporting characters, not a conversation triggered by their own attack.

In the Anni Expansion so far. playing as Forte, there was one scene where Forte mentioned talking with Cross, but I haven't seen him getting any lines directly either but I'm not even halfway through yet.
>>
>>23977697
Don't agree.
>>23977698
Honestly I found Red in that to be obnoxious, which isn't too bad since I like TTGL and it had obnoxious heroes. But SRI also has bad music, slow pacing, other characters not having much going for them, and subpar animation. Most Isekai only have one of those dragging it down. Besides, part of the appeal of the genre is how unrealistic the worlds are, you don't want to go home. If you want to leave it then you're in the wrong genre, it just doesn't work like that anymore.
>>
>>23977702
Forte talks a bit in my playthrough, fucking finally
>>
>>23977704
Don't care if you don't agree, you are objectively incorrect.
>>
>>23977704
>If you want to leave it then you're in the wrong genre, it just doesn't work like that anymore.
An japanese cartoon has no fault in you being such a miserable piece of shit and therefore, having such a heavily biased and disturbed worldview that pretty much invalidates your own opinion.
>>
>>23977706
Don't see it, the animation and pacing in the anime was really bad, anon. I compared it to its contemporaries, it was subpar. Writing is not the only metric when judging media.
>>23977709
Anon my point was not "life sucks" it was "if you want realism there is real life, not everyone wants to relate all the time". Mecha is a perfect example, it's not real and far from reality, that is the appeal.
>>
>>23977714
the giant robot came from the world the red ranger is from
Clearly he did not come from a realistic world
>>
>>23977718
His Earth is worth going home to which defeats the point of modern isekai.
>>
>>23977714
Anon, there is no realism here to being with, and that is not the sole appeal, some mixture of real and imaginary is the superior formula, like the theme of bonds which is very a real thing. It's like you are lying about watching all Super Sentai given on how every. single. season that is a central theme, else it wouldn't be a team-focused series.
>>
>>23977721
I think the point of SRI wasn't to portray escapism but the rather the amusing scenarios that would result from a red ranger being teleported to a fantasy world
you know, hence the title.
>>
>>23977721
Agreed. Modern Isekai is "My old life sucked, why go back? I have an overpowered ability and all the chicks want my dick. I am in heaven"
>>
>>23977721
Who the fuck cares about the point of modern isekai? Whether a story follows the contemporary trend of stories similar to it doesn't matter.
>>
>>23977725
>I think the point of SRI wasn't to portray escapism but rather the amusing scenarios that would result from a red ranger being teleported to a fantasy world
And then the not as amusing scenarios when the plot kicks in for real and shit gets serious, which could be another point in it's favor depending on your viewpoint.
>>
>>23977724
>Super Sentai given on how every. single. season that is a central theme, else it wouldn't be a team-focused series.
Sorry anon, but before Fiveman that really wasn't a thing with Sentai, it was mostly some guys with a common goal that happened to work for the same organization. Flashman sorta had that, but that was an exception rather than the rule, they never really hung out with each other.
>>23977725
>the amusing scenarios that would result from a red ranger being teleported to a fantasy world you know, hence the title.
I agree, thing is that premise didn't really do much with itself and the execution was mediocre at best. Maybe it works better for a manga, but in animation it just doesn't work.
>>23977727
You need metrics to judge things.
>>
Mecha with isekai exists since Dunbine. Tourists, I swear.
>>
>>23977725
Not to mention, unlike other isekai protagonists he actually wants to go home. I'll take it over the usual "I have a useless power that's actually overpowered and I'm gonna use it to get revenge on everyone who bullied me."
>>
>>23977737
Someone else looked into Infinite Gacha, huh?
Amusingly I found myself more fascinated with the stuff he got off of the gacha's overpowered stuff like his allies than the plot after a while.

The revenge victims were so exceptionally petty and mustache-twirling with xenophobia that it was eye-rolling quickly.
>>
>>23977737
But enough about Cross Ange, which technically is everything you just described and was awesome outside of Nana Mizuki's awful singing.
>>
>>23977733
If you want to judge things by shit metrics then go right ahead, but don't be surprised when people jump down your throat and point out your stupidity as they ought to do.

Yeah, I did watch the first three episodes. But the whole useless turns out to be stronger than everything is a thing Redo, Arifureta, and Shield Hero do as well. Anon, as someone whose favorite SRW game is MX, I have to ask: like what?
The most notable thing about it storywise is Rom hamming it up, but he does that in the show he comes from too. Apart from that, it's pretty standard fare.
>>
>>23977855
That's both because of Tomy generally being a competitor and Hasbro being super jews
>>
>>23977856
Machine Robo coming back would be great. We'd get only a CG of Rom instead of a little animation, but still, we'd see that 10 times over the course of the game and it would be great every time.
>>
>>23977858
You'd think it'd be great, but the animations in MX were way fucking cooler than the show and were in no way accurate to it. I guarantee you everyone would look way lamer if it got in again even if you're a fan of Rom speeches

On the other hand, we might get some of the units MX didn't have. Including Leina and Triple Jim as units over Pro Truck and Land Commander 5 was bizarre
>>
>>23977855
Good. Fuck Transformers.
>>
>>23977861
I mean from what I've heard of how the show looked even modern SRW animations would still look cooler
>>
>>23977856
I figured they were talking about the Evangelion and Rahxephon stuff or Rom showing up to save Asuka from MP Evas.
>>
>>23977861
>>23977865
With certain shows that had low budget and/or wonky visuals, like the J9s and Tobikage, being in SRW is a automatic visual improvement.
>>
>>23977865
Perhaps. But nonetheless, it just wouldn't be the same without the over the top aerial piledrivers and x50 speed punch loops
>>
>>23977872
Braiger looks fine in its original show. Tobikage, though, yeah, they definitely took some liberties with it.
>>
>>23977865
Machine Robo's one of those shows where there's like 20 seconds of insanely detailed animation every 6 episodes but the rest kinda looks like shit
>>
>>23977881
That's only true for episode 1 and 2.
>>
>>23977736
I think it's just that modern isekai ie: Guy dies and becomes Jesus is way different from the older stories which was simply people in another world
>>
>>23977497
I think they should add both in the same game along with Macross Delta and Witch from Mercury
>>
Just saw from an animation video that mad scientist dad comes back in the Expansion, but really twisted and messed up somehow, surprised nobody mentioned that when people were going through the new DLC, at least from what I saw here.
>>
>>23977893
The question to ponder is, when did isekai really become synonymous with escapism? Its not as if certain elements have only ever existed in recent times, but the boom in the last decade plus mostly driven by narou is largely the escapism.

Sentai Red Isekai is an example of a story that lacks that escapist angle. Its not just about "Oh, he wants to go home!" but more that his past and what he leaves behind is just as important as the new setting he finds himself in. He has his emotional baggage and all of his friends back home, and more than only the new world that matters.

Isekai reincarnation is a memetic pseudo-religion.

Most Japanese are not religious to begin with even though they identify as belonging to one or more religions (usually buddhism and shintoism, which are not compatible; when you add the number of buddhists and shintoists in japan it exceeds the entire population). This makes them more open to other, new, radical ideas (also a reason why cults are such a problem in Japan) and it means that people look at a lot of reincarnation fiction not as just escapism or self-insert but as an idea of what they could get in the next life (since buddhism already has reincarnation). This made isekai reincarnation fiction which is all about everything always going right popular.

Other isekai fiction got popular as a side effect from that and there are dozens of papers analyzing how it's not a single genre. If anything isekai reincarnation and self insert zamaa type fiction is growing less popular right now (we're actually several waves away, after it came the exile genre, then the villainess genre, and now it's mostly comedy parodies of the genre which juxtapose stuff that doesn't belong or use meta gags that are popular)

It's reductive and ignorant to group it all as "isekai" and act like isekai reincarnation is still the dominant genre. There's a bunch of early works still going like slime and overlord that fit that description that are still popular but that's just because they're long-running popular works, not because the genre is still a big deal. If anything Kadokawa's IR indicated they lost money by going all-in on the genre too late.

And don't even get me started on how narou isn't isekai

Amusingly enough apparently the reason for the rise in "He died so this is his life now" kinds of stories was just because they found the "gotta get home" plot way over done and decided to just take that off the board entirely by making the fantasy world his reincarnation so there is no going home, this is his life now would be a fresh take on the plot. And then everyone just kind of started copying it after the first ones were popular

It's kinda amazing, aside from Ideon, I pretty much hate everything else in DLC3 pack.

I hate Idolmaster, that robot is horrible. I hate that there's only Ange and no other girls, making Ange's presence pointless and stupid. I hate Sad Eureka, and while her Zaku is kinda cute, that stupid two-attack upgraded Ultraman is ridiculous. Takuto is decent, but he's still another character that don't really fitt here.

DLC1 and DLC2 are fine, but this stuff is unjustifiable. I would have greatly preferred if DLC3 had given Big O the attacks from Season 2 and maybe some extra units from Da Garn X

The most I've heard about Escaflowne in America, was that it aired on Fox Kids, they censored the hell out of it including skipping the first episode because it focused on Hitomi to try and make it more appealing to boys like Kids' WB tried to do with Cardcaptor, and then it got cancelled. While I doubt WfM will be next game (which is why we got S2 in the expansion) I would not be surprised if we get rainbow Calibarn (probably just as an attack) and Aerial/Eri being saved as a secret
>>
>>23978522
SEED got two full length TV shows a bunch of mangas, Stargazer and Freedom what side stuff did WfM get besides like a novel or two,
>>
>>23978455
Think Z2 is also the second time Big O, Armageddon and Macross 7 have been in the same game.
>>
>>23978522
SEED is not comparable to any other AU, but since they still use WFM in marketing it probably will not go away entirely anytime soon
>>
>>23978532
There is zero reason not to make a D remaster after Z2
>>
>>23978536
Didn't people want one back when Z2 was originally released and still do?
>>
>>23978527
Cosmic Era in general has the 2nd most prolific stuff after UC ones. I think 00 is a distant 3rd since it got a bunch while it was the new thing.

Most other Gundams get one or two at most. WFM gets Vanadis, Wing had G-Unit and IBO had Gekko (I guess G and Urdr Hunt kind of count since they added a ton of MSV)
>>
>>23978522
Gundam Wing and Seed are two regulars that always return, partly because Wing is more popular than people think and is also loved by SRW developers. Seed because it's one of the most famous AUs.

All the others come later. 00, G, and X probably return regularly too, but less so than those two.

Z and Char's counter attack, are simply mandatory, like Mazinger.
>>
>>23978533
Take this from a 00 fan, don't assume that being prolific while you are the "new thing" means anything long term

Its hard to believe there was a time where 00 was fucking everywhere and now its dwindled. Its one of the more surprising fall offs.

Anon, 00 hasn't been in a SRW game (outside of mobile) in almost 10 years. V was 9 years ago
>>
>>23978547
That looks like a lot until you realize SRW V was only 4 entries ago.

Its only 9 years because releases slowed down(for good reason).
>>

Is it weird that I'm surprised they didn't bring it back for Y? Like when the trailer showed all the Gundam series I was expecting them to show 00.
>>
>>23978546
Honestly, AGE's failure is probably another reason for 00's appearances. AGE failed so catastrophically that they leaned harder into 00 and Unicorn to cover, because AGE got no shilling.

The games have not gotten significantly better. 30 was a step up from T but not a big one. I didn't bother playing Y but from what you all are saying the animation is still incconsistent and half-assed as usual and they recycled more shit than I thought was possible, like literally more than T recycled despite having 3 years of dev time as opposed to 8 months

Just started SRW Y, should I just save getting any/all DLC for the second run or just get it for the first run? I heard the Anniversary Expansion I can just get after beating the game at least once.
Just wanna see what people here think, is it more enjoyable with the DLC the first time around or are the base cast and playable units great already? Playing on Switch and there's a sale on some of the older DLC right now.
>>
>>23978563
If you start a new game the DLC missions are spaced throughout the main game so there is no real reason not to play them. Keep in mind that DLC characters are silent in main missions until the expansion

I figured what didn't help was it didn't do nearly as well in the West, or at least North America, than in Japan. Especially with the 2 year gap between the Japanese and North American releases. Then the fourth game was Japan only. Did the series do any better in Europe?

Actual question from someone that knows shit about game development, why do people think the remasters will take less development time that a brand new game if they still have to redo all the sprites and animations from scratch, and from way more units than the typical modern game has? The story is already done but it's not like the writers are going to help with the animation because of that, the only think I could think of that would actually save time is that the attack choreography is already done, unless they also change that
>>
>>23978628
Who's gonna reject him?
>>
>>23978631
Stages, structure, mission design already done too. Yeah, asset creation is a really big workload but it isn't the only one and we have no idea whether these things are done concurrently or not. We're not insiders, we don't know what the scheduling or workflow of a typical SRW looks like
>>
Maybe I sound like a contrarian/nostalgiafag, but Cross' implied past and involvement with the events of past series sounds far more interesting with what I have got up to end of chapter 3
>>
>>23978561
>despite having 3 years of dev time
It took 3 years because they redid the engine and had to translate even returning units animations over
>>
>>23978638
How often do games have the OG characters having history with characters from the other series? I always like when they do that as it helps them fit in the world.
>>
>>23978608
Ammo count of some weapons goes to 0 without any uses beforehand (usually enemies from Victory).
Red 5 disappears almost completely (can access from Izuru's pilot page).
Zoloat from Victory has wrong info tags (causes red flashing text to appear).
Various custom bonuses have wrong descriptions.
The description for the all spirits achievement is wrong, and stayed wrong in SRW Y. Should be "have all spirits available to be cast in Search during a stage", not "cast all spirits on a single unit", which is downright impossible without extreme manipulation.

All were fixed by the time of the final patch.

>Actual question from someone that knows shit about game development, why do people think the remasters will take less development time that a brand new game if they still have to redo all the sprites and animations from scratch

They won't have to redo them from scratch though. There's a reason the Methuss we use now is the same one from Z1 just with higher res. It's not automatic, but just doing higher res versions of older sprites is faster than drawing them from zero.
>>
Doing a low budget GBA era sprites SRW to be released on eshops when?

It used to be the case that there weren't even any OG organizations and that the OG characters started the game as preexisting members of a group from some licensed series.
IIRC this done even as late as V where Souji/Chitose were basically just Yamato crew members and did have a real separate group they were part of

I'm playing the Dynazenon finale in the DLC, and there's a different scene between Yomogi and Yume. Yomogi says Gauma is most likely that 5000 year-old mummy that was shown in the news. That scene was both in the show and in the base game. Also funny story, the official Crunchyroll subs mistranslated "Mummy" as "Mirror" when the episode first aired, so unless you had context from the original show you would think Gauma was an ancient mirror brought to life

bandai won't do all that for something that has no popularity, nostalgic value, or at least ambitious enough to left a mark in the industry.

It's not that hard to rework the idea into something being messed with thanks to Byston Well or Cephiro or Darius or Orguss stuff. Just find the right series to pair it with and don't worry too much on things that are only actually relevant as a plot point in the Calvard arc; it's not like everything has to be as central as X's Wataru either. I swear some of you forget how SRW is very open to reworking series lore in favor of the actual game story. You focus on the actual big moments and abridge the rest of the plot, and maybe throw in a fun secret here or there, and let it interact with a similar series or have something fun like character seiyuu jokes, like with any other series. Rean and Banagher having some banter, or Suzaku being confused for Crow for a moment. Nanoha Vita mad at CS Vita for sharing a name while sounding eerily like Nanoha herself.

Depends if you like to see the base game cast hanging out in various (generally goofy) situations. I'll say the first one, about the protagonist learning the power of friendship is kind of lame, but I did like the scenarios of many later ones, like Lelouch making a mercenary group to get funds for the A.Advent (with Suletta out of all people somehow hopped into this), everyone spying on the Dynazenon Relive gang or the one time they attempted to make the G and Wing crew bodyguards for the Walkure.

The Great General of Darkness uses spirit commands in the DLC.

Either way, that's just how NPCs in general are programmed. Back in GBA OG1 and 2, everyone had stats, even that generic nurse NPC or random civilian. And you can put them in a mech via pro action replay and they work properly.

Going off a bit here but it just occurred to me that a lot of people have forgotten (including myself admittedly) that DW3 Remaster was originally going to be released in March. They pushed it all the way to October. My guess is the original plan was to have the game as just a remaster, the same DW3 but with updated graphics. Then they wanted to add more stuff in like the Origins guy, the new mechanics and stages and that's why they needed the extra time. But despite adding in the new stuff they can't rename the game since it was already advertised as DW3 Remastered so they just left it at that despite having a bunch of new stuff in.

Medarot S x GaoGaiGar.

I can't really tell what's different but I liked Noir Ryoma's weapon shout more than Shin Ryoma. It actually feels like Kamiya Ryoma.

If you actually played the games and not a /v/ shitposter you'd realize the moveset is different and they can't just use the new sprite as is anyway

J9 offers to go participate in the base infiltration mission - > get cut off with the excuse of "we don't want too many people" because the staff didn't want to give them more extra lines.

Also, so far Skull hasn't talked once in the Anniversary Expansion.

mironga isn't even good

Something I wouldn't be surprised gets added to the Z2 Remaster is a series of optional "Z1 Recap stages" where they abridge the relevant plot points of Z1 for overseas players who haven't played the game to make it more accessible.

Nothing that requires playable units from not included series, but at least the OG stuff and maybe a couple stuff that gets carried over. Sort of like the updated history stuff they did in Y.

MD had something like that too, didn't it?
>>
>>23979520
MD had recap movies of the previous entries

I doubt they'd bother with something like that. It's not like the Y Expansion has a Z recap in spite of Crowe constantly referencing the Z games.
>>
Orguss and Kei map sprite makes dimensional bomb go boom, a bunch of talking heads interact with each other, maybe a cryptic Asakim silhouette.
There is your recap.
>>
Z1 recap but it's Large Liard Model making shit up from random /srwg/ posts in real time
>>
>>23979513
Its not necessary.

Okay, retard

...because they already announced Z2 Remaster? Are you stupid?
>>
Th-they're just saving Z1 for last so most of the asset work will be done. That way they can focus on the squad system.

is full vocal makenaize a thing that exists

No, Koji Hayama's songs are usually like that, all grunts and yelling a few words.
You may also know him for his work in Cho Aniki or the ZX Tunes High-press Energy (Area K) song.
Although there's a higher quality version released on CD

Nice reading comprehension fucking retard

Part of me really wants a game where you can recruit both Beck and Doctor West.
>>
>>23979681
Demonbane and Big O probably would make a great pairing, honestly

I think the next game will be "inverse Y".
Instead of one timeline heading towards two bad futures, it'll be two timelines converging on one bad future.
>>
>>23979739
They'll probably have to do something like that since we can expect normal UC and alt UC because of Gquuuux.

Would be nice if they fully utilized it with different iterations of given series like Mazinger and such, but I doubt they will.
>>
Instead of just doing extended endings, now that we are in the DLC/Expansion era they could give us a full villain campaign
>>
>>23979746
No thank retard, that's fucking stupid
