I think this show's biggest problem is how overloaded it is with unnecessary terminology. Like what's so hard about just calling aliens aliens? Brain Powered is an organic mech, fine. But then Brain Powered pilots are Antibodies? Eh, ok but how is that different from just being a pilot? Why not call them Brain Masters or something since they basically communicate with the Brain Powered to pilot them? then evil Brain Powered piloted by the bad guys is called Gran Cher? What the fuck does that even mean?? Does it even need its own terminology when you could just call it Orphan's Brain Powered and be done with it? Why does it need its own made up word for everything? And there's a ton of this shit all over the show.

Even back in the day when we had limited quantities of anime and we really had to enjoy everything we got. I was a huge fan of the soundtrack, and I really like the OP too (the artist didn't become super famous but has a podcast now and plays acoustic). The aesthetics and art look amazing. But every time I make a serious attempt to sit down and watch the show, no matter the decade, I eventually just get infuriated trying to figure out what the hell is going on, who the hell all these people are, what the fuck their motivation is supposed to be, and why I'm supposed to care.Ultimately this series' most lasting impact to my memory has been the little clips of the attacks in the super robot wars games with the chiptune versions of the songs, which are really catchy and let me pretend the series was more meaningful than it was.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=186TnnyUjPo
