>Got groomed as minor>Became a minor groomer What's her deal?
Judau broke the cycle. He also broke the cycle of Wong's abuse too
>>23989586as sad it is to say, this happens very much in real life.No matter the type of harm, when someone are hurt as a young person, it isn't uncommon for the the damages to stay as when this person becomes an adult. It's the same reason how some people who got physically beaten end up repeating this as they get older. Among other things.Though Char himself never loved Haman, the damages was all the same to her. it broke her mind.Unlike Char however, Haman doesn't like this at all. I think that's why she killed herself at the end of ZZ. She couldn't live with this shame on what she became.
>>23989639All sexual relations in Gundam are in subcontext until Hathaway come from but I am 99% sure Chat knock Haman when she was little and reason why She's so bitter since he really never loved her.
>>23989658if that was the case then she would be angry at him and be looking for revengebut in zeta, she keeps holding back and is mostly non-lethal against him, and even at the end she keeps asking him to come back to her
>>23989922>Women feeling attachment to her groomer A tale as old as time
He hit it. Either he did it to get closer to Mineva, or Haman would have reminded him too much of Lalah for him not to. Char's non-commitment to leading the AEUG, and his relationship of not being able to commit to Reccoa, are probably the best insight we have as to what might have went down with him and Haman. Both Haman and Zeon were asking for a committed relationship, and the dude can't even keep an identity, and he got cold feet and bailed on them both.He just runs away from everything. That's his entire character arc in Zeta. Amuro's arc is a mirror of this.
>>23990477>Amuro's arc is a mirror of this. Can you elaborate? Usually the take "Amuro grew up and be adult while Char the seething manchild" floats around more
>>23990490Amuro's arc in Zeta where he is just in hiding alone in his mansion. Both him and Char are running away from responsibility for a good bit of the show. Char and Amuro meeting again is the catalyst that snaps both of them into action, and Amuro even helps Char to give his speech at Dakar.
>>23990501I suppose Amuro gets less flak than Char since his circumstance is more reasonable to empathize and he caused less trouble in general
>>23990527Amuro's a pretty twisted guy, but he try to keep his worst side to himself and don't want to bring it other people, that's why he often keep his distance with others.Mr asteroid drop meanwhile will actively put everyone in his problems. Willingly or accidentally.
>>23990550The AEUG and Axis meeting for the first time is a perfect example of Char putting everyone in his problems.
>>23990477>He hit itHe actually didn't, btw
>>23990567I know CDA exists and it is maybe the worst thing I have ever read. Kitazume is a retarded hack and Define sucks too.
>>23990501>>23990527Keep in mind Amuro is also five or so years younger than Char. He handles his shit more maturely than Char does on a shorter timeline with far less collateral damage in his wake, which just makes Char look even more pathetic by comparison.
>ywn pork hamman
>>23990477>>23990576Tomino said that Haman died a virgin. Haman is nothing like Lalah besides being young, she doesn't really have that motherly nature that appeals to Char's traumatized mentally ill ass.
>>23993068Haman already has motherly quality, just more on authoritative side. Not her fault Char is fucking picky and borderline impossible to please. Char while he wants the vibe of a mother figure acting nurturing, the paradox of his fetish is that he also doesn't like being controlled, which is the other reality of parental figure. He wants the softness, unconditional love of a mother, but parent and child relationship is inherently hierarchical. The mother is older, on higher hierarchy. She not only care for her child but she also disciplines them, makes rules and guides their behavior, and Char ultimately is a very insolent motherfucker. Supposedly normal people would assume someone like Char probably has a preference for older women if they hear about his complex, but Char 99% of time involved himself with younger girls and women, young girls don't have power and experience to hold him accountable like those hags. Basically he's having a contradictory fantasy: he wants the female to act like a mother and not like a mother at the same time to him, no woman including Lalah if she were alive could fulfill that.
>>23994798>Haman already has motherly qualityYou wanting "le mommy gf" and someone to step on your balls doesn't mean that subject has motherly qualities.
>>23994798>Haman already has motherly quality
>>23994808Why you bring up roleplay porn out of nowhere? >The mother is older, on higher hierarchy. She not only care for her child but she also disciplines them, makes rules and guides their behavior>which is the other reality of parental figure
>>23994868>Why you bring up roleplay porn out of nowhere? It's a fucking haman thread, why wouldn't I?
Haman is literally an adopted mother in the show. She literally has a child she is in charge of, and she is like a mother to Zeon. As far as Haman being like Lalah the Qubeley is LITERALLY the successor to the Elmeth. Haman would have been the first really powerful Newtype Char met besides Lalah and Amuro.
>>23994908Haman is TRYING to be all those things but Char sees through her bluff. Taking a kid hostage to ascend in power is the opposite of being a motherly figure.
>>23994919Yeah, hence the reason he hates her. She is a foil character for Lalah.
>>23994919>taking Char's perspective seriouslyIndian child prostitute with implied limited to no proper education isn't supposed to be seen as ideal mother figure either by normal minded people. Speaking of Mineva, Tomino did mention Char would groom the shit out of her if she appeared in CCA, and IF he really was a lolicon (an archetype already loaded with morally unacceptable sexual fixation). For a guy with mother fetish like Char, what "maternal traits" he could find in kid like Mineva? Fuck I know, Tomino said that about his character
>>23994919Mineva and even body double mineva weren't really treated like hostages.
>>23995017As a lolicon, one of the best kinds of lolis is the maternal loli(see the lolihimo manga or kokoro from priconne as examples). I could totally see how a lolicon Char could be into that. That said, I don't believe Char is a lolicon to begin with. He is just a man with severe mother issues and imposter syndrome who has no problem manipulating people.
>>23995029A pedophile on 4chan discussing anime? Big surprise there.
>>23995029Tochiro, meds
>>23994908She's not a mother nor does she have motherly qualities >>23994924She isn't a foil for Lalah, nothing about Lalah was releaved through Haman

>>23995744Your father should have stuck around

>>23989586You pretty much just typed it out

Can I ask what is it about this bitch that drives half of the Gundam fans here absolutely feral?
>>23995804your father should have spanked your mother for being retarded
>>23997240Mommy issues and they want their dick stepped on. Inexperienced men and virgins typically like powerful women to push them around.
>>23996748
>>23997375Amuro would absolutely hit it.
Just for clarification, Haman and Char didn't date, she was just trying to guilt trip him back to lead Zeon right?
>>23997486Depends on if you want to take deleted affair as fact
>>23997493I do not consider CDA canon.
If Char fucked Reccoa he fucked Haman. There is no way his taste is THAT bad.
>>23997506then no and she's pissed he betrayed her plans for Axis taking over Earth and the colonies
Did Haman know he was Casval Rem Diekun?
>>23990477related unrelated but i really love this art, it's so good
>>23997509Some people (mostly Charmuro shippers probably) believe Char is a virgin, I guess because they want to imagine him being only for Amuro or something.I think they're wrong since while it doesn't seem to get mentioned in English spaces much, it's a pretty known fun fact in Japanese fan circles that Tomino supposedly "confirmed" to their voice actors that Char and Lalah were having sex in 0079. But some people believe he never fucked anyone. Weirdly Yoshikazu Yasuhiko seems to feel this too re: his portrayal in Origin
>>23997564NTA but I assumed Lalah was his first with Nanai Miguel being at least a second and possibly more if Gyunei is to be believed.
Didn't Yas draw a really intimate piece of art of these two post sex?
>>23997568>Char fucked Gyunei>Gyunei was supposed to be Kamille.Oh. OH.
>>23997570
>>23997240Gap moe, she is a loser virgin forced into a role she isn't suited for, a paper tiger. That makes her cute. That haman OL manga captures her true essence. It may be a gag manga but make no mistake that's how the real one is too.
>>23997569Yeah, he did which is what makes it weird that he also said somewhere in a written interview about Origin that he saw their relationship as platonic (which got surprised/confused reactions from the other participants in the interview, and also from fans reacting to this interview, since the fun fact about Char and Lalah's relationship is so well known). People wondered if he was joking or what. But within the context of the Origin manga you can actually kind of see this, with Lalah obviously wanting it to be romantic but Char apparently kinda grooming her to be his mother substitute the entire time.He still kisses her as in the anime though, so maybe that and the art you mentioned is just him having some weird wires crossed re: Lalah
>>23997574I truly in my heart believe that OL Haman is the best Gundam product to come out in the past six years. If they don't animate this for the franchises 50th anniversary then Sunrise is actually retarded.
>>23996747Tochiro may be shitposting through her schizophrenia again
>>23997577current day anime fans are gigafaggots and don't deserve it
>>23997570Gyunei could be Kamille, Kamille ended up with Fa forever after. You suck.
>>23997576>apparently kinda grooming her to be his mother substitute the entire time>weird wires crossed re: LalahAnd yeah someone could say "isn't this the same as the anime," but I don't think he actually felt this way toward Lalah as far back as 0079, and I don't think the CCA line was meant completely literally as in Origin, where it's 100% clear he means as a substitute for his literal dead mother. The wording is also kind of different in Japanese too, where it's not like "Lalah could have been a mother to me" within the context of a conversation about parental figures, but more like "Lalah was going to be my mother." Like he already had a very definite idea of the role he wanted her to play even before her death, and I don't think Lalah was aware of thisit really is weird
>>23997564>>23997576Yas is like the last person I will take opinions about Char from.
Char and Lalah probably got married at the end of GQuuuuuuX tbqh. The Lalah plot twist ruined the entire show for me tbqh.
>>23997577i started reading this last night but had to stop to jerk off with the amount of ass shots
>>23997594Canon lore going back to the 1980s.
>>23997591Yeah, I'm obviously not saying he's right since as I said, I think there's enough context/implications in multiple anime series that Char has had sexual relationships with women, and that insisting he must be a virgin feels pretty weird.I just find it pretty bizarre and interesting that it was the intention in Origin, and this aspect of it doesn't get mentioned much compared to the Charwank nature of the backstory scenes
>>23997594>>23997596VA approved.
>>23997610She came back to voice her as an operator for GBO2

>>23989586>What's her deal?I feel that you've already touched on that
>>23997552Even if CDA was canon, they didn't date. Char treated her as nothing but a kid. He was nothing but a gentleman to her, until she killed his girlfriend out of jealousy.
>>23999049it puts a one sided romance aspect on her and makes her seem like a yandere
>>23999597When she was 14, sure. If anything, the only kinda bad thing about CDA was that Haman's transition into the personality we know was too abrupt.
>>23989586How come she wasn't attracted to Kamille's incredible New Type powers but went for Judau's had weaker NT powers?
>>24000484Judau has stronger newtype powers than girls.
>>24000487Tomino confirmed that Kamille is the strongest Newtype in several interviews
>>24000484It was because Judau was a lolicon
>>24000489Doesn't matter, Judau has better feats.

>>24000690Me too but fuck BeechaAt least Mondo got better after some tragedy in his life, but Beecha got kicked upwards because uhhhhh

>>24001067I couldn't finish ZZ because I actively wanted Judau to die. He is such a boring Gary Stu character. I wish his sister would have actually died and Judau suffered ANY consequences for ANY of his actions. It's not even the tone of ZZ that annoys me it's just you can tell everyone checked out and stopped giving a fuck in time for CCA. How ZZ treated Bright still makes me mad.
>>24006926This never makes me not cackle or at least nostril exhale every time
For me it's Playboy bunny Amuro Ray. The fandom enjoyed this one maybe a bit too much.
>>23997568i don't think Char fucked Nanai, Gyunei directly says Char and Nanai's relationship is entirely for appearance reasons.
>>24008147>Gyunei directly sayslol you believed anything that little butthurt twerp says
>>23999049well no, she knew char's girlfriend was being stalked, she just didn't step in to help because she felt betrayed. Haman saw Char's girlfriend as an older sister, and felt betrayed. she was 14 and hurt. it's Gundam, teenagers act irrationally. CDA is not canon anyway, but "haman is a murderer at 14" is just wrong
>>24000484Haman sees a younger version of herself in Judau. it's why her final line in the show is "Judau Ashta... i'm glad we were able to meet..." and she dies with a smile on her face. being a conqueror doesn't matter to her anymore; she met a boy who gave her hope for the future.
>>24005458Why is her face smudged? inb4 Indian
>>24009711It's a bruise from a guy slapping her
>>24008147The fuck how come what you got from the dialogue is Char didn't fuck Nanai? Gyunei also mentioned several women heard him said Lalah while sleeping, does it suggest to you his cock is very not clean? Of course he sticks it into Nanai's pussy as well>>24008156>you believed anything that little butthurt twerp saysI believe him, he functions as Tomino's exposition mouthpiece about how Char is a slutty pedo manbitch.
>>24008147>i don't think Char fucked Nanai,Didn't the novelization imply or outright stated that those two were sexual active with one another?
>>24006942Judau is not a Gary Stu because he's always fucking up on every level. The problem is that he never faces any repercussions for his actions, which is true of every single character in ZZ sadly. What I like about him is how he's the only Gundam character with emotional intelligence, which makes him seem more competent and adult than everyone else, but it's actually jus that he's not as big of a fuckup as everyone else.Amuro and Kamille would've similarly destroyed themselves chasing Reina. Kamille in particular would've fallen for Haman and reciprocates Puru's feelings out of sheer immaturity. Amuro would've likely overextended during a sortie trying to save any of the female characters.Judau was simply wise enough to realize that he should not fuck the girls in his team, that Haman was trying to use him because she was hurting, and that Puru wanted him because she was afraid and mindbroken. In both cases he could not heal them, so he rightfully rejected them; unlike Amuro rejecting Fraw because she reminds him too much of what he lost or Kamille being shitty to Fa but obsessing over Four because he's immature.
>>24008147I'm not any of the other anons who've replied but I feel that even if it's true their relationship was for appearances, that doesn't rule out any sex between them having happened ever. Like if it is for appearances that's definitely all on Char's part and not Nanai's, so I can see Char occasionally having sex with her just to keep the charade going or whatever.
>>24010469I don't want to watch a show with an emotionally intelligent 14 year old because that's stupid. Why the fuck even make him 14 then?Judau is maybe one of my least liked if not my most disliked Gundam character. I will sit here and defend Katz and Reccoa before I defend Judau.
>>24010503He just becomes a foil to the other protago->defend Katz and ReccoaI hate them both but they're both very good characters, which I assume we both agree onI'd say more about Katz who was also Kamille's foil, but I guess you can just point to him facing the consequences of his actions aka a medium-sized asteroid and that it was more of its kill than Yazan's if anything, whereas Leina is magically okay because Sayla just so happened to be in the jungle at the timeI'd probably point to Roux and then Elle as the most level-headed characters out of the cast, outranking Iino because he usually gets pushed around, but aside from Roux's runaway episode, none of them get particular development>Mondo takes a loss later on but Beecha gets promoted for no predictable reasonPity that the shittiest members of the cast got the most development, that's my bigger problem with the show. I'll feel bad for Mondo but Beecha should have suffered more, and given the captainship when he stopped wanting to be a leader and learned the weight of human life or whatever. Moot point because afaik aside from being fellow salvagers, he doesn't make a point about leadership until literally a ship is available, Beecha is JUST a fucking nigger
>>24010530You can hate a character and admit they have a good character arc. At some point people decided that likeable equals well written when that just isn't true at all. Pic related might be the best example of this ever.
>>24010536Yeah, no yeah. And sometimes they can get better, or stay the way they are quite miserably. I guess Notes from Underground might be similar, it was a fun and likeable read but it's not like the narrator gets any better in any aspect whatsoever, as relatable as parts of him may be.>picI was absolutely seething at or about him when the book was recommended in high school, a complete waste of time and space. But I also had zero patience for coming-of-age stories and zero emotional intelligence. Like, I knew he was a pseud but I didn't really think past that. For all I know - and it's come up in GitS SAC so I'm tempted to pick it up at some point - the book could have been literally about me at that stupid stupid age. I assume if I like Katz the character but not Katz the person, I'll have a better understanding of Catcher.>likeable equals well writtenI was absolutely screaming at Flay at first and thought she was the worst character on God's green earth, but I warmed up to her and I think she might be the most well-written or at least the most interesting or "had the biggest arc" woman in Gundam (I haven't seen WfM). Like, she's a good character and I cried a bit when she died.
>>24010551I like Holden and can relate to him a lot because I once woke up in a psych ward after a failed suicide attempt. Your own milage my vary.
>>24010587A-anon what the fuckYeah I do remember being told that it's a bad book in the sense that you'd either go insane or conclude that you had to kill yourself, or that those were the only choices for him or other. It's been years but I should give the book a chance, I'd later become extremely extremely unhappy a few years after reading the book but somehow never made an attempt, I'll try to read it with a more sympathetic mind. Also, for what it's worth, I hope things are better and I'm glad your attempt failed.

Seemed like she was reading the intentions of a casino worker spinning a roulette wheel (?) or something to predict the numbers it would land on. Apparently the worker wasn't good at it and so even though Lalah read her intentions correctly, the actual outcome was still wrong. The guy ends up slapping Lalah for losing him money.Him actually hitting her didn't get depicted onscreen I think, we just see him almost do it again.

>>24010469>Amuro and Kamille would've similarly destroyed themselves chasing Reina. Kamille in particular would've fallen for Haman and reciprocates Puru's feelings out of sheer immaturity. Amuro would've likely overextended during a sortie trying to save any of the female characters.i dont dislike Judau but i disagree hard here. For Kamille this interpretation only tracks with his early series character. as he was at the end of Zeta I dont think this is true. just look at how he dealt with Sarah and Rosammy. Sarah he tried to help and maybe even felt a twinge of attraction for, but by that point he already knew when she was a lost cause and knew to call it with her. He still gave her a chance, but thats the core of Kamille in the first place. With Rosammy he wanted to help her but he wasnt into her. he was bummed when she died but he knew it was really the only way that was going to end. As for Haman, i felt like the way they wrapped her and Kamille's relationship(?) up was a constraint based on sunrise's requirements for ZZ, but i still think he would have had the same approach as Judau if he werent out of commission. Puru he would have felt bad for if he saw her in person but i dont think his response would change from what he did for her in ZZ.Amuro was pretty callous by zeta and probably wouldnt care about either of them. 079 Amuro would similarly get sad but ultimately just let whatever happen happen.
>>24030553>Kamille wouldn't have done that by the end of the seriesBy the end of the series Kamille overextended chasing after Rosamia and Reccoa. He put his life in danger trying to save them and his failure to do so was so traumatizing he was already mindbroken before facing against Sirocco. Kamille could've died at several points chasing after both of them and his reluctance to kill Reccoa had consequences.Amuro was "callous" then again he tried to do a prisoner exchange by giving himself up which was absolutely retarded and illogical. Both of them are stupid when it comes to women.

So I guess the possibilities there are:1. Maybe he actually changed his mind on this position eventually or at least was open to depicting it differently, since the majority of Japanese fans + Tomino do see the two of them as having a physical relationship2. He was specifically requested to draw Char and Lalah post-coitus by the magazine this was featured inAlso I learned that in some Japanese sources Lalah is mentioned as having had her Newtype abilities artificially enhanced by the Flanagan Institute rather than them being entirely natural. I'm not sure how canon this is meant to be because it seems this isn't widely known even in the Japanese fandom, like people seeing this mentioned are surprised these sources say Lalah isn't a wholly natural Newtype. The reason I bring this up here is that Yas actually indirectly included this in Origin, as in it's not mentioned in the text of the manga as far as I'm aware but was something he talked about in an interview. Lalah's behavior comes off a little weird in Origin, like sometimes seeming weirdly ditzy at times or skipping around etc., and I thought before this that it was just a weird attempt at trying to translate some of her 2quirky anime moments to the page that didn't entirely work. According to Yas though, some of the stuff the Flanagan Institute did to enhance her abilities kind of fucked her up a little mentally, and this makes his portrayal of Lalah make more sense, as in pic related. So with this added context Origin Char wanting Lalah as his mother comes off as weirder and more pathetic than it's already depicted.
>>24030582Consequences of being a shut-in during his teenage years.
>>24035195>Char wanting Lalah as his motherThe cultural context for the mother line is that in late showa japan the idea of a mother in the non-biological sense was that of a woman who protects and comforts a man weary from fighting against the world.
>>24038184Yeah, it makes sense in the context of CCA since I really don't think it's meant literally there even though it's also easy for people to meme about, but something about Origin basing Char's revenge plot on a literal dead mother (even lowkey playing it as a twist that he didn't actually care about his father's death) does make the line kinda read more literally to me in that context. Might be overthinking it but it's been pretty interesting to learn that a lot of the weirder stuff about Lalah in Origin was done deliberately.
>>24038184This is the normal and rational thing to want though
Do you guys really not know about Freud?
>>24039512Wanting a woman to be mother means she takes care of kids and animals which are kid equivalent. Acting motherly to an adult man not her child in any way means the woman is implied to have brain damage
>>24039710>Acting motherly to an adult man not her child in any way means the woman is implied to have brain damageAnon it just sounds like you're gay
>>24039512I don't get why you're saying that to me. I never said it was abnormal.
>>24039863Ok fair enough, I was just making sure. There's a lot of abnormal people out there! Like >>24039710
>>24039730>>24039866Average women have their own self preservation to be grossed out at the idea of being mommy to a grown ass man. They're biologically wired to look after genuinely vulnerable dependent creatures like children adjacent, otherwise it's just perversion of her natural role. The type of women unironically want to be mommy to (You), not even out of kinky roleplay are highly guaranteed to be menhera type. Soon she would reveal her mental illness power level if (You) let her in
>>24039878Stop trying to force it in a literal sense. Dishonest dialogue. Fuck off.
