I have to spoil a little bit of the setting, but in pic related, the protagonist is exploring a massive Dyson sphere(?) that seems to have been built around a black hole/something similarly extremely dense. Scale matters if you can justify it. In this case, a precursor civilization built it, so it makes sense to have it be an impossibly, ridiculously huge megastructure. The book is good too, not 10/10 change your life but solid.

At the time I loved it but I couldn't find anyone talking about it online so I just had to schizophrenically rant to friends about it.But now I see this the day after I pick it back up?If we're talking scale then the Horizon is pretty large. I can't recall if it was given exact dimensions but given the fact that the protagonists have to take trains to get around is fairly telling, hell, in the opening bits it's described how one of the hangers inside the Horizon is big enough for clouds to form near the ceiling.Couldn't find the illustration in the back online so have a pic from my shitty phone.
