Really, it's all a cascade of cockups on Bandai's part. AGE killed 50 episode Gundam, IBO killed the 25/25 split and G-Witch killed the 25 episode Gundam. Maybe we'll reach a point where AUs are left only to manga and we get legacy movies like every 4 years.
