Why is this fat piece of shit such a jobber?
It is a metaphor for the excesses of the late-early Universal Century Federation
>>24012967A futile effort to improve Jegan
>>24012967Fat = Inferior I dont make the Rules. That’s our Lord and Savior Jesus’s job. I just point them out
Fed = le dumb jobberZeek= le good guy (kills civies)Cmon man the formula is the same everytime, no matter what. Why are you surprised
It's a tanky Jegan but uh-oh, it's mass produced slop yet expensive. It's too general use and didn't emphasize on it's heavy build. Like, come on i knew feddie designs are unimaginative but even old zeekslop has something in mind.
>>24012998Yeah, being le wacky shit.Emphasis on shit
>>24012967They tired to go for a larger and more heavier design without giving them the benefits of why they were like that in the first place. Not to mention it was prioritized over its actual Jegan successor the Dora Karl.
>>24012967The Feds were traumatized by those CCA clips of cardboard MS getting shredded by vulcans and decided to make all their MS as armored as possible to avoid that
I like how it looks... Wish it was something with a "mass produced" anti beam armor. Make it an extremely stable unit to use big heavy weapons as mid range support or heavy assault.... nope jobber with tiny beam gun... sigh...
>>24013079It's the ultimate evolution of the slovenly overweight cop wielding a tiny little handgun. The Karl pilot in Unicorn eating candy bars while guarding the Cheyenne base corroborates this.
>>24013156Lol, not wrong.
>>24012967The armor doesn't have anti beam coating. Thus the extra armor is pointless.
>>24013156>It's the ultimate evolution of the slovenly overweight cop wielding a tiny little handgunany drawfags want to draw a karl riding on a segway-esque base jabber while getting circled by xi and penelope rampaging in a shopping mall?
Gets utterly mogged by it's little chad bro Jesta
UC should just spam Jegans and Jestas, it's their most profitable grunt suit line outside of Zakus.

>>24014386>gay gundam head instead of kino visorMP my ass
Ironically you could say the Gustav Karl was inspired by one of the most powerful MS seen at the time, The O. Like The O it was a giant, over armored brick covered in thrusters to make it zoom around deceptively fast.Unlike The O it didn't have a magical bio-sensor, wasn't piloted by a MC, and probably lacked the beam-resistant coating plot armor, which meant it was subject to being a jobber in all its appearancesI still think it's funny that in the latest G Gen game (I think) if Banagher and Lane meet on the field Lane freaks out at seeing "Singularity One" still exists and is operational while Banagher freaks out at how the MS a few years into the future have become so massive.
>>24014386>INCOMsMost fed pilots can't even fire their gun without aimbot, you think they can handle this almost-newtype level machine?
>>24012967Gustav Karl is based, get filtered faggot.
>>24014446Isn't the whole point of incoms that they're aimbots and don't need magic newtype brainwaves to aim
>>24014486INCOMs don't have aimbot, the only thing the newtype brainwaves do is allow them to be controlled wirelessly, but the Newtype still needs to aim them (though the level of control varies by depiction, in CCA it seems like they're more or less autonomous drones once you say "go"). INCOMs avoid the newtype requirement by being wired, they're otherwise the same as funnels
>>24014475Just cus it looks cool doesn’t mean its not a bum
He let himself go jobber’ed to close to the sun.
>>24012989>Fat = InferiorThe O was the strongest suit in Zeta that was only defeated by women ghosts
>>24014725Yeah and it was made with plot armor, if Jerid used it then it would be another bum that dies in a episode or two
>>24014446It doesn't matter, the ability to pull asteroids into outer-earth orbit and mine them into oblivion has completely distorted the UC's economy. It's entirely economical to build a jobber the size of a 4-story building who immediately gets incinerated if it lets the other jobber behind him live 5 seconds longer. So the only part of the nu gundam that might have any scarcity is the psycho-frame, and that can be omitted if you're just going to slap a couple INCOMs on its shoulders and give it to an oldtype. The only good in-universe argument against MP Nu Gundam is the one presented in Unicorn/Narrative, which is that everybody's terrified after seeing the Nu make half an asteroid disappear while the other half miraculously accelerates upwards in clear contradiction to classical Newtonian mechanics. Although I guess now that MP Nu got shoehorned into canon by Hathway pt 2 that explanation is out the window.
>>24014639Grunts should not have V-fins
>>24014953>Although I guess now that MP Nu got shoehorned into canon by Hathway pt 2 that explanation is out the window.A single MP Nu being modified into the Alyzeus doesn't really tell us if it went into production or if it was just one of the leftover testing models from development if it was canceled due to psychoframe fear before reaching production. After all, they still had the Narrative Gundam in storage after Axis Shock, they didn't immediately issue orders to destroy its psycoframe.>seeing the Nu make half an asteroid disappearIt didn't disappear. Both halves of Axis are just around Earth as per Twilight Axis.
>>24014953The MP Nu wasn’t made after CCA, it was produced alongside the Nu because before the Axis drop attempt the EFF thought Char was going to do another conventional war and feared the possibility of the Jagd Doga being mass produced. The one from HF was pulled out of storage and used as a testbed for future technologyAlso I thought the other half of Axis got yeeted into deep space after the bombs inside went off?
>>24014439The O worked because the funny purple man from Jupiter built it for his own piloting style, The O wouldn't function for anyone less autistic than Scirocco.
>>24014971Isn't there a side mamga about some kid piloting not!TheO? Also the OII from that manga that has the Nu's ground MA form and ground Sazabis
>>24014982That kid is Scirocco reborn.
>>24014982>Isn't there a side mamga about some kid piloting not!TheO?Valpurgis? They barely use the The-O mode since it's pretty much just an armor disguise. The story takes the Full Frontal idea and applied it to Haman and Scirocco and the rest of it is mostly standard Gundam fare about a kid falling into the cockpit and fighting for a potential love interest with a superweapon or two thrown in. >Also the OII from that manga that has the Nu's ground MA form and ground SazabisThat thing barely works like original The-O. They turned it into a land hover ship.
>>24014955Come again?
>>24014639>>24015002Spec wise, the Gustav Karl is equal to a Gundam type as written in 1989 .Compared to the Nu Gundam, it has the same sensor range, more armor and power output, but less thrust.Windam has the same specs as the Strike Gundam except for PS armor.
>>24015292what specs does CE even publish for the windam? wasn't it just a one sentence blurb about how the EA achieved its goal of mass producing the strike? and previously someone pointed out that it was the packless strike, which means it's a fairly low bar?
>>24015292>It has the same [Stats that don't matter] but less [most important stat]. Yeah.. Equal...
>>24014929Said who?The show implied that no normal weapon can hurt The O.It was hit by Haman funnels and Newtype waves and it wasn't scratched. That's the entire reason why Kamille had to ram it
>>24015331>what specs does CE even publish for the windam?Best I can provide, from an old Great Mechanics issue. In theory, Windam has a better rifle than the ZAKU Warrior and would outgun all of ZAFT's newer mass-produced units with the exception of the beam cannon on the Gunner pack.In practice, however, what are specs good for if we see Windams getting blown by the dozens during the series, and the only on-screen kill was against a virtually obsolete MS?
>>24015353yeap lol that matches up
>>24014971I feel like good firepower, lots of mobility and a fuckton of armor are perks that a lot pilots could easily take advantage of. The O is fairly simple as a unit, its only out-there quirks are the sub-arms and the Newtype Bio-Sensor shit.
>>24015353Wow, funny how this article never resurfaced in future publications. We really should give the Windam more credit and its massacre in 2004 Seed Destiny was the primary reason I hated the show so much when it first aired and vowed to buy Windam figures and models just to kill Strike Freedoms and Destiny Gundams. For the record, Strike Freedom had never killed any Windams. In Seed Freedom, they finally glorified the Windam in one short scene with proper choreography.https://www.youtube.com/shorts/tYbesW4StgQGustav Karl and Windam do share a lot similarlities, both are the peak MP MS of their respective factions and eras, but being equal to Strike Gundam is already outdated as Zaku Warriors spec wise were already above the GAT-X series and I felt that the ZAFT Gundams were just marginally stronger than the Zaku Warrior.
>>24015415>We really should give the Windam more credit and its massacre in 2004 Seed Destiny was the primary reason I hated the show so much when it first aired and vowed to buy Windam figures and models just to kill Strike Freedoms and Destiny Gundams.Autism.
>>24015415>ZAFT shit is outright betterYes that's how CE works
Simply put:Windam=early CE 71 EA GundamsZaku Warrior/Gouf Ignited=CE 73 ZAFT Gundams=Late CE 71/CE 73 EA GundamsGelgoog Menace/Gyan Strom=Impulse Spec IIAkatsuki/Rising Freedom=early Nuclear Gundams Black Knights=late Nuclear GundamsObviously they are not absolute equivalents, but at least the base frame has same specs. Seed Gundams have accessed to specialised weapons PS/VPS Armor that the MP counterpart are missing. PS armor became less relevant anyway but I don't think a Windam could one hit kill VPS armor. Similar to GN-X vs Celestial Being/Throne Gundams. GN-X and 105 Dagger getting specialised loadouts and variants do help(Long Dagger and Buster Dagger)Those Forbidden Vortexes and Raider Standard type are same power level as Zaku Warrior but with more specialised role. That's why Gouf Ignited is a big deal as it has a specialised role.Yes, there are clear power level tiers in CE and I still enjoy UC more than CE. However, in UC 105 with Minovsky flight Xi Gundam vs Gustav Karl/Naked MP Nu Gundam, there seems to be a significant power gap much like those seen in Seed and 00. B Club in the early 90s did mention that a transformable MS from UC may be as powerful as 10 regular MS but would cost 20 times as much which is not economically feasible especially with the maintenance and skill requirements.I don't really like using shounen terms in mecha, but in UC, outside of Unicorn Gundam, Minovsky Craft MS are the peak tier MS especially under gravity when fighting against regular MS.So yes, Gustav Karl jobbed due to fighting Minovsky Craft MS. The Ayers Rock battle was carefully choreographed to show two Gustav Karl aces who maximised their skill and team work to narrow the gap with precise timing of cover fire and beam saber strikes. Hathway with newtype senses and minovsky craft still outclassed them after studying the repeated patterns of the Gustav Karl duo. I call them aces because they had the same flight suit as Amuro.
>>24015480Yes, and I rejoiced in Seed Freedom when Kira and co finally got beaten up and they show finally got non-Gundam looking MS that were nuclear tier.Personally, Gustav Karl and Windam are actually my favourite MS of all time. RX-81 and Gelgoogs are also applicable as being the equals to RX-78, though the RX-81 ended up being way more advanced than intended.
>>24015491>>24015497Yup, autism.
>>24015498At the end of the day, it is just fiction and the writer being the god of their universe gets to decide that mass production MS get massacred for their narrative.Windam was meant to be a homage to the Dragoon from Dragonar, which was also a narrative jobber despite being above the early Dragonars. The Feddies in GQuuuuuux actually have it even worse than Earth Alliance in CE.
>>24015486Always been the case.
>>24012967Becuase they were supposed to be fun cameos until Hathaway got greenlit.
>>24015415>We really should give the Windam more credit and its massacre in 2004 Seed Destiny was the primary reason I hated the show so much when it first aired and vowed to buy Windam figures and models just to kill Strike Freedoms and Destiny GundamsNo. Why? The story created them to be shitter jobbers. A shiny new object for the heroes to the story to destroy in bulk. It's all paper numbers, unrelated to its actual combat performance.Think of it like the MiG-25. Sure, it can do Mach 3 in theory, but it destroys the engines in the process. Even the Rhino had a better service record during the Iraq-Iran War.>For the record, Strike Freedom had never killed any Windams.Unlike the intervention in Crete, at the time Strike Freedom appeared on the battlefield, the Earth Alliance was a non-entity.
>>24014953The only good in universe arugment against MP Nu is the fact that there are no more realistic threat against the EF post CCA. Unicorn/Narrative actually makes the case for MP Nu to deal with retarded OP MA like Neo Zeong. Or better yet these Fukui fanfictions are retconned by Hathaway.
>>24015491>PS armor became less relevant anyway but I don't think a Windam could one hit kill VPS armor.Yes, it can. Unless it's the big-ass system installed on Genesis, Phase Shift does nothing against beams. That's why the Earth Alliance had to come up with Positron Reflectors.>Black Knights=late Nuclear GundamsNah, Destiny made mincemeat out of them. While Shura and Orphee's customs are dangerous on themselves, the baseline model Black Knight model can't do much once you can counteract their gimmicks.
>>24015491>I don't really like using shounen terms in mecha, but in UC, outside of Unicorn Gundam, Minovsky Craft MS are the peak tier MS especially under gravity when fighting against regular MS.Xi and Penelope are the weakest "flagship" Gundams in UC in comparison to their contemporaries. Without psychoframe, they are objectively a technological regression compared to Unicorn, Nu, Sazabi, or any mobile suits that can do space magic like the Zeta and ZZ. > B-but muh Minovsky Flight and Funnel missilesNot new, both decades-old tech at this point.>How bout MP Nu? It got some psychoframe, isn't it?No it doesn't, the film creators confirmed it in their interviews.
>>24015824If it doesn't have Psycoframe, then how the fuck is it controlling the missiles?
>>24014638Listen, I could give a damn less about how well it fares against other suits in-universe, but this motherfucker with that little shoulder shield has come in clutch for me in GBO2 against suits it should get absolutely mogged by. Gustav a real one.
>>24015507>Windam was meant to be a homage to the Dragoon from DragonarThey could've kept the asymmetric shoulder cannon to make the homage more complete.
>>24015491>Black Knights=late Nuclear Gundams Eh...not really. >>24015842>If it doesn't have Psycoframe, then how the fuck is it controlling the missiles?Either regular psycommu or imitation Psycommu systems like the Biosensor. Or the missiles just use onboard AI to make their own decisions.
>>24015842>>24015984No idea about the Hathaway version but the M-MSV did have a psychoframe in it. Maybe the Hathaway version had one installed since Lane said it was a testbed machine.
>>24015665>Nepo princess sue with a couple ships can develop better MS than the hyper advanced Coordinator nationI hate Lacus so much it's unreal
>>24015803>MP Nus for the one off wunderwaffen MAsKeep in mind after CCA (and even CCA really) all the conflicts are minor skirmishes involving like a single ship on each side at most, not outright wars. In the grand scheme of things they're foornotes barely worth putting in the history books. Even the Dhamblo would've been dealt with after a bit since it's a big dumb beached whale. It can barely move as is do any kimd of indirect fire artiññery or high altitude bombers would take it out easily, it just got killed by the Delta Plus before it even got to that point. >>24016221>even the tehnical manuals glaze KiraJesus fucking christ.>Plan was to mass produce the SFsWell, why didn't they?
>>24016236>Well, why didn't they?Several possible reasons: too expensive, too complicated to operate, treaty limitations capping totals of mobile suits and fully prohibiting nuclear-powered units, Durandal not accepting a fleet of piloted superweapons that could turn against his plan, ZAFT's own "war merchants" making more money from an entire army rather than a handful of war-deciding units...
>>24016236>>24016255>ZAFT's own "war merchants" making more money from an entire army rather than a handful of war-deciding units...Durandal was explicit about this. Granted, he was mostly talking about his battle about Logos, but I don't see how ZAFT gets its hands clean off this, unless their weapons industry is fully state-controlled. And even that creates perverse incentives; just ask the Soviets.
>>24016289It still find it hilarious that Durandal was right about everything and the writers couldn't figure out how to give Kira the moral high ground over him so he randomly becomes space hitler with a death laser in the last few episodes

>>24016297>>24016300>and the writers couldn't figure out how to give Kira the moral high ground over him so he randomly becomes space hitler with a death laser in the last few episodesThey couldn't do it with Rau either. The only thing Kira could reply back was...>noooo!!! youre wrong!!! the world is still good!!!At the same time both sides were at the edge of a mutual genocide that was only averted by quick intervention and force exhaustion.
>>24016301I can't remember Rau's motivation and goals, was he just an omnicidal maniac? He killed Flay so he can't have been that bad
>>24016303He hated the world because it created him, a failed clone that lives in constant pain and will die young.I'm convinced they came up with that idea at the eleventh hour to make him the "final boss" and put him against Kira. Fukuda told Seki he didn't have any idea as to what Rau's character was about.
>>24016318This means that Fukuda never understood what Gundam was about other than a set of aesthetics: a name, a faceplate, parade colors, a reluctant young pilot, a masked enemy, a horse-looking ship, "human evolution"...Char's mask was never important for his character. He takes it off and we learn his entire deal on the second fucking episode of the series. It was never supposed to be a mystery.
>>24016297>Durandal was right about everythingYeah, I'm sure you and many others would love being forced to work as janitors cleaning dirty toilets for the rest of your lives just because you were born with unimpressive genetics.
>>24016370You're ignoring the fact that genetics are easy to manipulate in CE. And the alternative is "nuke everyone"

>>24016323>Char's mask was never important for his character. At least they sorta-kinda tried to explain it later on as Casval having a different eye color than Char which would have immediately given him away. And I remember in the end that one dying Zeon soldier saying that he's surprised that Char's face wasn't covered with horrific scars as the rumors implied (excluding the new one that Amuro just gave him minutes earlier), so nobody in Zeon knew why he wore that mask and just made up reasons over time.
>>24016370The janitors on mars seem pretty happy to be janitors. If it works there then surely it would work in the earth sphere too.

The Gustav Karl was breaking the road and cracked the ground as it traveled along. Jegans and Gundams NEVER did that. Tell me anon. How fat do you have to be to do that?
>>24016469>how fatApparently, only a few tons heavier than a jesta. But really the big thing is we never know how loaded a suit actually is in a show. For all we know the gustav was near it's max weight and jesta/the gundam were on the lighter end of their possible load.
>>24016452>and paying off reviewersYou're legitimately delusional, a ton of people just like SEED, it's got a bunch of elements that appeal to the common anime watcher, especially the Japanese ones.
It sucks because it refuses to sortie without a 4 wheeled Jabber
>>24016724I'm gonna be honest. I'm genuinely surprised a base jabber can carry Gustav Karl. The Base Jabber is much smaller. Also why is Gundam turning into "Wall E". The suits keep getting bigger, fatter, and lazier. Gustav Karl is a fatso. But Xi Gundam is an obese lard cow and that needs a physics defying anti-gravity backpack just to move. It doesn't look graceful at all. Xi Gundam is like a flying cow.
I don't buy the idea of calling all bulkier mecha fat.But this one really does look fat.
>>24012967I don't even understand why this suit was mass produced. Wasn't the Federation going broke around this time? Why are they still making new stuff?
>>24012967what is this thing? I had a whole reply because the thumbnail looked like the fat nuke gundam from 0083
>>24017172Federation's main grunt suit from Hathaway's flash.
>>24017151I guess they were trying to go for the "up-armored" approach, sort of like Full Armor. But the problem is that the Gustav Karl doesn't actually seem to be more durable, since it still gets shot down in a single beam rifle shot or cut in half with the same amount of effort by a beam saber. In all of its appearances both in Unicorn/Narrative and Hathaway, it's the "villain" mobile suit so of course it's going to be portrayed as incompetent, all the more to make the heroes look better. All this talk in this thread has got me thinking, I kind of want to do a Gustav Karl custom build now, just give it a shitload of weapons so that it actually looks like a beefed-up full armor MS and not some underwhelming fatso.
>>24017164They started going broke around UC 0120's. There was signs around CCA. The Hathaway period is probably around the zenith of their excessiveness and corruption. After that they began steadily declining. The EF had a major economic depression in UC 0140's. If you take the Crossbone sequels as canon they nearly collapsed in the late 0150's, got back together by 0170 and are confined to very loosely controlling parts of Earth, parts of the moon, probably some asteroid fortresses, and a few colonies.
>>24017226I like how they gave it a tiny ass rifle that doesn't fit the frame at all. They couldn't even be assed to give a purpose built set of weapons and just tossed some surplus jegan shit it's way.
>>24017322Isn't it also quasi-retconned that Operation Stardust destroying the North American granary was a big contributor towards the Federation's eventual decline? The loss of such an important strategic asset would have been a huge long-term blow to the Federation.
>>24017200>>24017172It also was in unicorn and did nothing but job
>>24019088I like that they put the fat pilot in the fat ms

>>24017226The armor is meant for ballistic weapons, which is more likely what the will be dealing with against less organized insurgencies. In Hathaway they were going against 30m tall anti gravity Gundams with beam "rifles" the size of beam launchers. The two aces fighting against Hathaway gave a good showing is it's actual potential. But the disparity was too much.
>>24020066>The armor is meant for ballistic weapons, which is more likely what the will be dealing with against less organized insurgencies.Ballistic weapons have trouble with basic Luna Titanium on the RX-78 Gundam. Don't give me that excuse.
>>24016459>At least they sorta-kinda tried to explain it later on as Casval having a different eye color than Char which would have immediately given him away.As much as I love The Origin, we're talking about the original series here. Tomino and the other screenwriters never considered "Char Aznable" to be anything else than an alias for Casval. The idea of it being a stolen identity from a doppelganger is entirely the creation of Gundam Ace's editors, from whom Yas was taking his marching orders.
>>24012967While people make fair comparisons to The O, I always saw the Karl as a parallel to the ZZ, like a sidegraded mass produced budget version of the ZZ in the same way the ReZEL is to the Zeta. And like the ReZEL the Gustav Karl is just an overpriced and underperforming deviation of the Jegan that did nothing during its service life besides job. The Jegan isn't fancy but got the job done as a cheap unit that could maneuver well and hold a beam rifle. It took a very very long time (in Gundam years) for the Jegan to become obsolete, these experimental next steps were just never worth it.
The Gustav Karl is a rotund fat fuck because it's an antagonist MS, it's meant to look Zeek-like (it even has a shoulder shield like the Zaku) to show that the Feds are the "bad guys" in Hathaway's Flash. It's also why the Alyzeus has a mono-eye in its Flight form to further that idea. The Messer, on the other hand, has a couple of Fed-like characteristics such as the yellow vents on its chest, the design of its feet and the shape of the skirts on the Type-M01 (which is basically the original novel design). The Type-M01's chest even looks similar to the Xi Gundam's.This is kind of like the switch in MS aesthetics that happened during Zeta.
>>24020413atleast got to do something cool and actually has on footage confirmed kills. These fat fucks compete with the windam for grunts with no kill count.

>>24021361>The original Gustav Karl design is literally just a mass produced Xi Gundam. The version we have now is from the G Generation gamesI know, but the animated media (which is what's being discussed and where we got the Alyzeus with its mono-eye) went with the more Zeek-esque G Gen design instead despite using designs for other MS that were closer to the novel's.And the novel Gustav Karl still has a shoulder shield like the typical Zeon grunt.
>>24020413the messer is a zeek design by another nameremove the yellow vents and there's nothing in here that looks remotely like a federation design

>>24021391The Type-M01 is more angular and Feddie-like, it even has those metal "straps" you usually find on Gundam feet all versions also have Fed-like shoulders underneath the big red spiky shoulderpads. The custom I posted is just a repaint of the M01 for the most part, its structure was barely modified.
>>24014500>in CCA it seems like they're more or less autonomous drones once you say "go"There's a scene in ZZ that really confuses me around this point, where Ple-2 gets out of her Qubeley to go look for Judau & co while holding some of the Argama crew as captives. She does this by setting her funnels to keep darting around in the air so they can't just be grabbed and smashed with hammers or something, and says they'll shoot if anyone tries to escape. Then she goes off to find Judau leaving the Qubeley, the active funnels, and the hostages behind. So is the implication that Ple-2 is dedicating some portion of her brain to keeping the funnels moving for minutes on end while she can't actually see them? This seems like it would be extremely hard even for a prodigy Newtype. Or that she has "programmed" the funnels to act autonomously somehow, in which case, surely even oldtypes could at least USE funnels, even if not to their full potential - indeed, why have pilots at all if you can just fill the battlefield with autonomous drone-funnels, and maybe a few other things to deal with enemy Newtypes and I-Fields.
>>24017380If you don't see the Federation's own policies and governance as the primary reason for the Federation's decline, you don't understand what the UC is meant to be about
>>24021707I think that the idea is that funnels have onboard computers and can receive and execute commands. The newtypes are mainly there to provide the wireless signal - some older sites mention the psycommu in the MS is an amplifier and the funnels house receivers. You can therefore have it both ways - you can command funnels to move in a pattern with a single thought and then leave them be, or you can micromanage funnels with excessive commands like Koreans playing Starcraft, and that results in both scenarios working. After all, Amuro accidentally deployed the Nu Gundam's funnels for the first time with just a stray thought when Keyra was in the hostage situation, and because Amuro wasn't consciously controlling the fin funnels, they engage Gyunei in a straightforward fashion and get shot down easily. Then later when Amuro engages Gyunei and Quess together, the two have a much harder time shooting any of the fin funnels since Amuro is in active control of them. Later when fighting Char, both of their single remaining funnels go off on a high speed dogfight that is even faster than what was seen previously, each funnel evading the other's attack.
