It's most likely this as they specifically designed the Messer with Neo-Zeon features (mono-eye, spiked shoulders, flared leg boosters) to hide their involvement.

With Neo-Zeon they were also doing it in secret, somehow making a MASSIVE amount of Geara Doga suits and developing the psycho-frame without compromising their production of the Jeagan

>Hi-Nu as a successor to the Nu
What's wrong with this? It's Nu but with a dock for reusing funnels and extra thrust.
>>
>>24015036
Amuro designed Nu Gundam for himself. It's a custom one-off machine.

It was designed to be easily repairable, use readily available battlefield parts (that's why it uses some Jegan parts), and every single weapon and accessory was meant to be disposable. Nu Weapons were meant to be used, abused, or discarded without worry. Amuro hates carrying extra baggage during his fights.

Hi-Nu throws all those ideas away and tries to turn the machine into a special snowflake machine. With WINGS and makes the funnels dock on a rack that Amuro would never use. The Fin Funnels have their own generators and don't need a rack to recharge them. Secondly, Amuro doesn't give af about retrieving his funnels. He used them to kill. They aren't display pieces.
>>
>>24015042

>don't need a rack to recharge them
The rack's for replenishing propellant, not refueling the generators or recharging anything.
>>
>>24015059
Exact scenes? You mean 40 years of watching Amuro fight in animes and how he treats his mobile suits weapons as disposable?

>>24015062
If Amuro NEEDS to deploy a funnel to deal with an enemy, then that funnel isn't coming back. It's either going to eliminate the enemy, continue following Amuro, or be destroyed in the battle but give Amuro an opening to shoot the enemy down.
>>
>>24015042
You could say that with Amuro being very likely deceased, Anaheim did their take on an "improved" Nu and either didn't know about Amuro's design philosophy or outright ignored it in favour of making a stronger thing to sell or other. There's definitely a way to reconcile "they made the Hi-Nu as a successor" while still respecting Amuro's style I think.
>yeah but then they give him the Hi-Nu in SRW and it's a blatant upgrade and he's into it
Other than your ability to keep him in the Nu and give the Hi-Nu to someone else, yeah I'm with you on that one and I wouldn't know what to say to that.
>>24015059

The MP Nu is proof that Anaheim and the Federation wanted to expand on the Nu's design because they thought it was a good enough base, and that they weren't autistically fixated on the idea that it was something only Amuro could use like you are.
>>
>>24015108
>The MP Nu is proof that Anaheim and the Federation wanted to expand on the Nu's design because they thought it was a good enough base,
A "base" for whom? For what? It's not like the Federation has (or even wants to have) a Newtype Corps. They are terrified of the space espers running around with reality-changing powers.

>and that they weren't autistically fixated on the idea that it was something only Amuro could use like you are.
Except Nu was literally a one-off built by and for Amuro's use. And MP Nu shares nothing with the Hi-Nu's special snowflake doodads. It's a Jegan for aces.
>>
>>24014066
It shouldn't because the whole point of Pulitzer is Kikka interviewing people who knew Amuro because she felt compelled to write a humanizing biography about him after she learned he was officially declared dead and was being hailed as a legendary heroic war hero by the Federation for propaganda purposes.
>>
>>24015113
>A "base" for whom? For what? It's not like the Federation has (or even wants to have) a Newtype Corps. They are terrified of the space espers running around with reality-changing powers.
If you're gonna take Unicorn into account then you know damn well what they used the Nu's data for and why.

>Except Nu was literally a one-off built by and for Amuro's use.
Amuro didn't literally design and build the thing all by himself, he's not a full-on engineer even if he does possess some know-how. And beyond all its quirks like the Funnels or the inflatable dummies, the suit was basically the RX-78-2 of its generation, a top notch general purpose MS because that's what Amuro's comfortable with. It's even free of tacky gimmicks that complicate the base structure like a transformation or a Core Block System.

It was also the first proper implementation of Psycho Frame on a Feddie MS, and they later went on to explore that technology in future projects, even if it didn't end up becoming the standard for various reasons.

>And MP Nu shares nothing with the Hi-Nu's special snowflake doodads. It's a Jegan for aces.
It shares the same base, which is the Nu, a base that has a significantly higher performance than the Jegan.
>>
>>24015113
>A "base" for whom? For what? It's not like the Federation has (or even wants to have) a Newtype Corps.
Acting confused doesn't win you the argument, it makes you sound like old and stupid. The entire point of the MP Nu's existence is to be a counter to the enemy deploying newtype MS like Qubeleys and Jagd Dogas. If it makes your headcanon hurt, cope with yourself that Londo Bell ordered it, instead of the Federation.

>They are terrified of the space espers running around with reality-changing powers.
That's old fanshit that was part of the reason fans said why the Feds wouldn't give Amuro a Zeta Gundam. Current lore has the Federation specifically purchase the Delta Plus with biosensors and have a stake in the Unicorn project.

>Except Nu was literally a one-off built by and for Amuro's use.
Literally nothing about this prevents ANYONE from repurposing it for anyone else. Acting like the Nu is sacred is fucking stupid. NT1 Alex being a one-off intended for Amuro didn't stop it from being used to advance Feddy MS tech or being used to develop new MP models. Zeta being designed by Kamille (or merely originated from Kamille and then heavily worked on by AE) didn't stop it by being used by anyone else.

>And MP Nu shares nothing with the Hi-Nu's special snowflake doodads. It's a Jegan for aces.
MP Nu has the option of using the exact same equipment as the original Nu, right down to the undockable fin funnels that some retard claimed is """only""" Amuro's style.

>>24015069
If Amuro had reusable funnels, it would just give him extra flexibility and allow him to show up to duel Char with a full funnel complement, not ruin his ability to pilot the suit.
>>
>>24015136
>If you're gonna take Unicorn into account then you know damn well what they used the Nu's data for and why.
>they
"They" being the Vist Foundation, not the Federation. Yes, I fucking know about F91. Don't ask me how Fukui wants to square that particular circle

>It's even free of tacky gimmicks that complicate the base structure like a transformation or a Core Block System.
Which is exactly why the retcons of Hi-Nu are so stupid.
>>
>>24015144
>If Amuro had reusable funnels, it would just give him extra flexibility and allow him to show up to duel Char with a full funnel complement, not ruin his ability to pilot the suit.

Amuro's funnels never had an issue with nor having enough propellent. All of his funnels were eventually shot down. Having a recharge rack would not change that.

If anything, the racks would slow Nu Gundam down due to the extra mass of the racks, and drain more propellent.
>>
>>24015187
If that was the case then he shouldn't have brought an obsolete bazooka since a second beam gun would have been lighter, last longer, and accomplish the same thing. If he truly cared about weight, he would have not brought the funnels either since funnels were """never""" Amuro's style and he never needed them before, right?
>>
>>24015144
>That's old fanshit that was part of the reason fans said why the Feds wouldn't give Amuro a Zeta Gundam.
No, current lore (Narrative and Hathaway) says the Federation doesn't want anything to do with Newtypes at all, both because it was tainted by the Titans and because their bullshit almost destroyed reality itself.

>Literally nothing about this prevents ANYONE from repurposing it for anyone else.
It would require significant refinement for it to become a viable frontline machine. You could copy it, but it would require the pilot to adapt to its idiosyncrasies, rather than the baseline utility of the Jegan.

>Acting like the Nu is sacred is fucking stupid.
It's not sacred; quite the opposite. It's an over-spec machine for a single pilot. There is a difference between a one-off unit crammed with as much tech you can shove into its chassis and a baseline model intended for mass production.
If you want "sacred", there's the Unicorns for you.

>If Amuro had reusable funnels, it would just give him extra flexibility and allow him to show up to duel Char with a full funnel complement
He doesn't care about reusing the funnels, or the flexibility that would afford him. For better or worse, that's not how Amuro fights, and Nu was built around that philosophy. It's the same nonsense as Banagher's customized Silver Bullet with the disposable arm gimmick. He could use a regular beam rifle just like anyone else and be just as effective on the battlefield, but he insists on carrying the Beam Magnum for some reason.
>>
>>24015192
>If that was the case then he shouldn't have brought an obsolete bazooka
Bazookas are not obsolete. They help punch through armor that has thick anti-beam coating.

>since a second beam gun would have been lighter, last longer, and accomplish the same thing
Not necessary. Amuro just jacked a beam rifle from nearby Geara Dogas when his rifle was lost. Amuro is a practical man.

>If he truly cared about weight, he would have not brought the funnels either since funnels were """never""" Amuro's style and he never needed them before, right?

I'm sure if Amuro had his way, he would prefer to go back the days when all he had to worry about were fighting big zeon mobile armors with giant claws. But now he has to deal with every single enemy ace using bits and funnels.
>>
>>24015187
>Amuro's funnels never had an issue with nor having enough propellent. All of his funnels were eventually shot down. Having a recharge rack would not change that.

>bazooka
Also bear in mind that the guy launched from it still holstered as a surprise attack from his legs, and then I'm pretty sure he used that and not the rifle just drifting in space with a wire for yet another bait and surprise attack. I genuinely don't recall whether he ever fired it like a normal person, although I think someone told me it did. That's peak fucking disposability
>I'm sure if Amuro had his way, he would prefer to go back the days when all he had to worry about were fighting big zeon mobile armors with giant claws. But now he has to deal with every single enemy ace using bits and funnels.
>implying that fighting an army of zakrellos wouldn't traumatize him for life
>>
>>24015179
>They" being the Vist Foundation, not the Federation
The Federation was also involved in the Unicorn Project.
>Which is exactly why the retcons of Hi-Nu are so stupid.
The Hi-Nu has nothing fancy like that, it's just a fucking refueling rack on the back, the base body is still really simple. And even if you think something like that is outrageous for some fucking autistic reason, bear in mind that this Hi-Nu is supposed to be a Nu with even more innovations in hopes of further improving its performance.
>>
>>24015195
>current lore (Narrative and Hathaway) says the Federation doesn't want anything to do with Newtypes at all
Well, the problem with the Xi and Penelope are that one of their key weapons requires newtypes to function. Someone else already mentioned F91. It's more like the Federation will tinker with newtypes if the results are promising, they're really only worried about people with potential like Amuro and Char who hold ideals that might not be compatible with the Federation continuing to rule from Earth. They are also willing to drop the entire matter if it blows up in their faces, which to be fair is a understandable stance.

>You could copy it, but it would require the pilot to adapt to its idiosyncrasies, rather than the baseline utility of the Jegan.
They don't need to clone the Nu and find Nu compatible pilots. Just developing the Nu and MP Nu would benefit Federation MS tech in general. Pick any choose any parts that can benefit others, you don't need the entire package. Enhanced weapons, improved cooling technologies, the supercompact nuclear reactors in the fin funnels, combat data on how to fight the latest Neo Zeon MS, etc. The Alex's tech made it into grunt units 5 years later.

>He doesn't care about reusing the funnels, or the flexibility that would afford him. For better or worse, that's not how Amuro fights, and Nu was built around that philosophy.
Doesn't make sense to me. Amuro has always been about flexibility and has piloted a range of suits like the Dijeh and the Zeta. Amuro is kind of famous for tossing the shield to go all in on the saber in melee combat, but it's some weird dissonance where in the same thread, people will say that the Nu is a basic but high spec machine and then it's also claimed that the Nu is too weird to be piloted by other people.
>>
>>24015195
>No, current lore (Narrative and Hathaway) says the Federation doesn't want anything to do with Newtypes at all, both because it was tainted by the Titans and because their bullshit almost destroyed reality itself.
This didn't all happen right after the Axis Shock, and the current lore still has them working on machines with some form of Psycommu like the Unicorns, the Penelope, the F90N and the F91, because the best way to kill Newtype threats is still to use other Newtypes.

>It would require significant refinement for it to become a viable frontline machine. You could copy it, but it would require the pilot to adapt to its idiosyncrasies, rather than the baseline utility of the Jegan.
They don't need to turn it into a grunt suit, they're using it as a base to make other high performance Gundams. It's also a point of reference for specialized limited production units such as the Jesta, which is said to have a performance of about 90% of the Nu's.
>>
>>24015199
>Bazookas are not obsolete. They help punch through armor that has thick anti-beam coating.
Missile pods are smaller, lighter, and do the same thing while specifically being disposable. The only point of lugging a bazooka barrel launcher is because it's reloadable and reusable, which goes against your point of disposable weapons.
>>
>>24015252
>which goes against your point of disposable weapons.
Did you ignore what I said about the fact that Amuro's used it both unconventionally as well as literally fucking disposably? i.e. it was fucking disposed of buddy, he made good use of it to bait an enemy pilot
>>
>>24015242
>The Federation was also involved in the Unicorn Project.
They got hoodwinked with the "Newtype Destroyer" system, specifically designed to kill Newtypes on the battlefield, so an Axis Shock would never happen again.

Think of Psycommu the same as you would a nuclear arsenal. It's a deterrent with some use on the battlefield, but with the potential to destroy all of existence.

>and the current lore still has them working on machines with some form of Psycommu like the Unicorns, the Penelope, the F90N and the F91, because the best way to kill Newtype threats is still to use other Newtypes.
Again, I'm working backwards from Fukui's logic of "Federation officially rejecting Newtype phenomena with all of its institutional might".

>but it's some weird dissonance where in the same thread, people will say that the Nu is a basic but high spec machine and then it's also claimed that the Nu is too weird to be piloted by other people.
It's both, actually. Basic loadout, high-specs, specifically made for one pilot's style. And people complain too much about Strike Freedom's special snowflake status. At least Hi-Nu hasn't had an official appearance in animation.
>>
>>24015253
So what part of that specifically requires a bazooka instead of a lighter missile pod? The whole fucking point someone made about "why this and not that" was because of weight concerns, not because a bazooka is permanently attached and can't be dumped.

Amuro's first core memories (when it came to combat) were on White Base using the original Gundam. That style imprinted on him the most. They were constantly fighting for survival. Most of Amuro's victories were not pretty or elegant.

Amuro would barely win and had to get really dirty to win. Like tossing his weapons, ramming the enemy, rolling on the ground, smacking the enemy with giant rocks, slapping enemy main cameras to blind them, etc. Not elegant at all.

This is how Amuro learned to fight. That's his core style. Baptism by fire.

>Doesn't make sense to me. Amuro has always been about flexibility and has piloted a range of suits like the Dijeh and the Zeta.

Those were never by choice. Amuro eyes lit up when he saw the Gundam Mark 2, but he knew it didn't belong to him.

Amuro was mature enough to realize he should use whatever Karaba or AEUG could afford to give him. The Dijeh is just a modified Rick Dias so it's less expensive. Amuro never actually wanted a Zeta Gundam either. It's not his style. Anaheim Electronics gave Karaba a deal to sell several Zetas in bulk, and they just gave one to Amuro. They never actually asked what Amuro wanted. They only let him customize the Zeta a bit. Nothing more.

Imo you can see Amuro is a bit uncomfortable with Zeta Gundam. He almost never transforms with it and mostly keeps it in Mobile Suit mode. You also have Anaheim Electronics constantly reminding Amuro how expensive Zeta Gundam is and to treat it with care. So Amuro can't throw shields or toss away its custom beam weapons. Anaheim throws a fit. Plus Zeta Gundam without it's shield looks really weird in waverider mode.

No wonder Amuro decides to leave Zeta Gundam on Earth and take the Rick Dijeh into space. Cheaper and less headache. No one yells at him because the Zeta got damaged.
>>
>>24015270
What's the source for any of the Zeta stuff there? That sounds very fun, and yeah no fucking shit Wong's going to kill and eat him if he throws away the Zeta's shield
>No one yells at him because the Zeta got damaged.

>you'll never be put under house arrest because you're just some bum rando corporal in a highly praised unit
>all your parts and equipment literally grow on trees
>stay safe have fun man
Please tell me more because you're really making me warm up to the Dijeh that I felt little to nothing about
>>
>>24015252
>Missile pods are smaller, lighter, and do the same thing while specifically being disposable.

The missiles in the missile pods are a lot smaller and less powerful. The Nu Gundam uses a Hyper Bazooka with a 280mm round. Enough to kill an Mobile Suit like Sazabi or Jagd Dogs in a single shot.

Plus Amuro is the type where he like to snipe you with a single hit to take you out. One shot. One kill. He doesn't like to waste ammo or rely on combo fire (multiple missiles or weapons hitting a target) to take out enemies.

Just look at the ground duel when Amuro and Char were chasing each other in Axis. Their battle philosophy is on full display.

Amuro grabs a bazooka and tries blow up Char several times with big overwhelming missile explosions. Just no nonsense big bazooka missiles. Very simple.

Meanwhile, Char grabs a smaller missile pod and attaches it to his leg. Then combo wields pistols in his other hands. Char wants to dual wield weapons. Char would try to pin down Amuro with a missile pod blast and then hit him with a pistol round as a follow up. Char is trying to be fancy.

Yes, and? They still saw potential in the Nu's data to create a new set of MS capable of carrying that mission out.

>Again, I'm working backwards from Fukui's logic of "Federation officially rejecting Newtype phenomena with all of its institutional might".
Just because they rejected it "officially" doesn't mean they never worked on some secret and not-so-secret projects involving Psycommu ever again. The Federation isn't a hive mind and there's various factions within it that are at odds with each other, as shown in fucking Unicorn itself.
>>
>>24015280
doesn't matter, a single grenade destroyed the alpha azieru by accident, there is no excuse for amuro not being able to do the same since you just said he's very precise and can just use one missile per enemy
>>
>>24015274
>Wait so you're saying that he would have been more comfortable as a grunt with a grunt unit

Can we just be honest? Zeta is a "Hangar Queen" (US Navy term for planes requiring lots of attention and maintenance). Its powerful but probably requires tons of maintenance after every mission. They gotta re-check everything, especially the transformation mechanisms. It's a complicated piece of machinery.

Think of it from Amuro's perspective. Amuro could be piloting Zeta Gundam, then kicks the enemy mobile suit during intense melee combat. But now mechanics gotta check the Zeta legs for damage because Amuro messed up the delicate joint alignment during the kick. So they gotta spend an extra 3 hours during their shift recalibrating the leg sensors and joints.

That's gotta be frustrating for Amuro. He just wants a basic and robust Gundam like in the old days on White Base.

No wonder when Londo Bell gave Amuro a blank check to make whatever he wanted, Amuro designed an Nu Gundam. It's basically a souped up RX-78 on steroids. Sazabi was punching and kicking the crap out of Nu Gundam, but the suit held together just fine.
>>
>>24015289
If you watch carefully, the Re-GZ missile hit the same spot that Nu Gundam had damaged earlier. Amuro had tried to snipe the cockpit but hit the neck instead and caused damage.

Later, The Re-GZ missile pod hit the same spot where the armor was already compromised. That's why it exploded.

He knows it's going to be a gigantic waste of fucking time, because that's how things go about every single fucking time, or it's going to be goalpost-moving or some other inane and disingenuous shit

>hangar queen
I'm starting to feel bad for poor Astionage and the others during ZZ Gundam. Roux is pretty capable and reliable but there's not really a consistent pilot for any of their fucking mobile suits for most of the show. I'll mention that Kamille probably would have helped for his copy back when his brain was functioning, but you're telling me that there were others. I guess Amuro would have helped too.
>all those delicate bits because muh transformation
Have we ever seen him care that much about mobility apart from the thrusters on the Nu's legs? Or whatever the advantages that the wave rider provides? I know he fondly mentions piggyback rides or bringing friends to a warzone a total of zero times.
I'm beginning to get the suspicion that it was specifically you who told me before (or I merely read your post in a thread) that Amuro learned from fighting Char, knew it'd be drawn-out and didn't want propellant dead-weight bullshit and therefore gigalegs and etc
I think the disposable shit came up as well. I might have even been the one freaking out over him throwing shit away every single time you use the final attack for his original Gundam in SRW

>Have we ever seen him care that much about mobility apart from the thrusters on the Nu's legs?

I need to rewatch the original anime, but I vaguely recall Amuro not being happy with the mobility of the G-armor or the various "optional parts" for Gundam.

>trying to resist the urge to talk about Tomino even though we all know that bit
>trying to resist the urge to shit on Amuro for not liking goofy toyetic shit because I'm cool with it
Wait, did he just not wanna cooperate with Sayla, I do vaguely recall this was a multi-person job, but I might be confusing this with the mid-air combination thing they did like. Once.

>when the entire unit LOOKS like a Gundam except for a tiny part of the face.
I don't think so, also it's not the body but the face that determines the identity, Xi and Penelope are weird monstrous kaiju designs, it's the face lines of traditional gundam face that gives it 'humanity'.
>>
>>24013878
This never made much sense to me considering how tiny the outer face is compared to the inner one, there's no realistic way the latter could be hiding underneath the former. That's why in the model kit it's just a face plate swap.
>>
>>24015274
In Moon Gundam after the Dijeh gets wrecked he opts to pawn off a custom built for him Re-GZ prototype so he can pilot the simpler Jeda which is the precursor suit to the Jegan. I just think Amuro just has bad memories from piloting the G-Armor in general since it was a failed gimmick upgrade to the Gundam in universe that was primarily used as a separate fighter by White Base after a few failed live fire tests so a transformation system he needs to consider in the middle of combat is seen as a trap option for him that's a waste.

this is a literal lie because he personally designed that Re-GZ variant for himself
>>
>>24015375
They've both been identified as Gundams already even before the faceplate underneath was revealed. Lane even refers to the Xi as a "modoki" in the dialogue because even someone as retarded as him can tell the Xi was given a Gundam-type aesthetic.
>>
>>24015545
It's pretty funny that Amuro's approach to the Zeta is ripping out the complicated transformation mechanism and just giving it a backpack with wings. He really doesn't like convoluted mobile suits designs lol

Anaheim have been doing it for literally decades by this point.

It sells kits, which Hi-Nu sorta relys on for recognition, as probably 99% of Gundam fans haven't read Beltorchika's Children.

EY YO MAFTY! It's Anaheim! We heard you want a mobile suit and we put gundam face on a gundam face so you can pilot a gundam while piloting a gundam.
>>
>>24015547
Yes but there's a difference in just being called a fake gundam and then actually turning out to be the real thing. Face reveal is narrative explicitly rejecting Lane and Federation's stance that it's not a real Gundam.
>inb4 ''duh we didn't need that, as we knew it already."
as I said, this trilogy is yet to be completed so there's bound to be some more plot development left to be revealed.

>Your analogy would make more sense if Xi's body looked like a Zeon machine with a mono-eye. Then the face gets damaged and we see the Gundam face underneath.
you have to realize that to most people even zeta's face doesn't register as a gundam
>>
>>24015545
I don't know man designing your own ideal version of a suit only to pawn it off immediately for a different non transforming suit sounds like he doesn't like using transforming suits.

>>

then it wasn't ideal, was it?

hack writing or hack writing?
>>
>>24015318
In or out of universe the G-Armor combinations were just garbage. The two halves of the Gundam couldn't do anything by themselves and the G-Fighter split in such a way that all the good weapons were in the front half. If it remained a Dodai-esque sub flight system or just a more up gunned Gunperry then it wouldn't have seemed so pointless.
>>
>>24015793
You can pander to an audience as hard as you want but if the base product isn't for them they're not going to buy it. The same could be said for transformation mechanisms and Amuro. The Moon Gundam Re-GZ variant was him working with a design team to make a Zeta that works for him only for him to bounce off of it because Amuro will never click with a reusable transformation mechanism.

Amuro is a very practical and no non-sense pilot. He doesn't like fancy expensive weapons or weird gimmicks.

Give him a regular shaped Gundam and a bunch of guns and Amuro will get the job done.
>>
>>24015979
Give him a weird mobile armor instead, his least favourite even
>>
>>24015925
>>24015737
>>24015545
>>24015450
The weirdness of this theory that Amuro hates complicated MS designs is that he piloted a Zeta Gundam during the Gryps Conflict offscreen and maybe even flew a Zeta Plus at some point. It's not like he's averse to them...
>>
>>24015979
Amuro's not necessarily a hyper practice guy, his big problem is how he both needs high quality and expendable equipment to get things done like he does. Amuro's gimmick is that he treats every single piece of gear his suit has as an expendable object he can ditch as needed.

Funny enough I think the Nu Gundam isn't really the optimal Amuro suit I think something closer to the Victory Gundam line feels more in line as a final form of Amuro's fighting style than the Nu Gundam does where everything that's not the core fighter in a victory type is expendable budget gear he doesn't need to feel bad about destroying.

>>24016040
Amuro can pilot a suit and use it even if he doesn't like it. It's called a preference Amuro doesn't like using transformation mechanisms we never see him slandering them as a terrible trap option he just doesn't jive with them.
>>
>>24016047
The thing about Amuro is that he takes the units that he pilots to the very limit of engineering. That's why they had to put magnetic coating on the RX-78's joints. Things like delicate transformation gimmicks or big-ass beam cannons aren't of his taste.
For sure it's a nightmare for maintenance, but it gets the job done.
>>

Got me thinking
What mobile suits would amuro shine in, would he excel in a full armor gindam for example?
>>
>>24016078
>hyper practice guy
Fuck me spelling error. I meant to say Practical since well Amuro's constantly throwing away and destroying all of his equipment in ways that would suck if that was actually kept track of.
>Watch 079 again
I've seen it, the Gundam gets abused constantly, handhelds are tossed away or used or block an attack and the shield gets turn into scrap in nearly every fight. The fact White Base didn't run out of weapons for the suits to use is a miracle required by the chorography.
>>
>>24015267
I know it's Build Fighters so it doesn't really matter, but how would the funnels be moving like that in-atmosphere?
>>
>>24016097
Maybe, that's right up his alley, given it's quite literally his first MS under all that armor . Amuro thrives in no-gimmick "what you see is what you get" MS, so I think the FAG would bee too gimmicky and, most importantly, too cumbersome for him. I feel like he'd just purge all the armor and sub-arms on takeoff and just keep the boosters.

Yeah a variant of the base Victory not the V2 feels like Amuro's bread and butter. I think he'd get an especially big kick out of the disposable missile launchers and the fact the Beam Rifle is super modular so he can pull off shit like ditching only the rifle frame to make people think he doesn't have it anymore. The only part of it I think he'd dislike is the Beam Shield being built into the suit instead of something he'd be able to yeet like a frisby to bisect a mobile suit.
>>

He could use the Beam Shield like a wide-ass Beam Saber instead.

>"They" being the Vist Foundation, not the Federation. Yes, I fucking know about F91. Don't ask me how Fukui wants to square that particular circle
I'm a newfag so I have to ask, what was the pre-Unicorn/Narrative explanation for psychoframe technology disappearing between CCA and F91
>>
>>24020471
It didn't. F91 has a psychoframe cockpit.
>>
>>24020471
>>24020494
It didn't really disappear. The tidbit about F91 having psychoframe came from some obscure side-material and wasn't addresed in the movie nor by Tomino himself. F91 was released only a few years after CCA and the lore post-UC 0093 wasn't set in stone yet, aside from Hathaway's Flash, but the japs only considers animated stuff as canon. The ones who wrote that just assumed that psychoframe cockpits has became standard in every high-performance MS since its inception in CCA, so they slapped that in F91.
>>
>>24016097
He'd probably enjoy the F90, given that the Formula Project was the brainchild of fellow White Base alumni Job John, and he'd probably stick to a handful of solid all-rounder packs that do one or two things really well, or sometimes bust out a high mobility pack of some sort to speedblitz some poor sap.

I feel like he'd be rather concerned by the fact that the F90 units 1, 2, and 3 have AI based off of him, Char, and Kamille, though.
