First episode was better than expected, and I appreciate it not being another remake that wants to visually remind viewers the source was originally a comic. I doubt it'll ever be as charming as the 90s show, but since presumably it'll shed the predecessor's less interesting fat, the series could be a decent, straightforward adaptation.
I'm pretty new to Rayearth so I did not expect Hikaru to be the straight man of the trio
