Seed was a fun watch, but the Macrossification of Gundam is one of the worst crimes to ever befall anime.

The movies condense a lot of it to feel less repetitive, and the HD remasters incorporate many of the tweaked scenes from the movies, remove the recap filler episodes, and fix a lot of the animation problems (same three mobile suits blowing up over and over and over). Most of the rough edges have been filed off over the years. It's not perfect, but a lot of the remaining hate boils down to "Waaah not UC!" and "Popular thing bad!"

On occasion they will stumble on the dumb shows of the 2010s (Aldnoah Zero, Valvrave, Cross Ange), but that's about it. Nobody would give a rat's ass about X if it wasn't a Gundam. On the reverse for Dragonar or Gasaraki: almost completely forgotten today.
