I want to make a Commander Zaku 1 using Zaku 1 origin as a base. But after looking at multiple reviews including various bootleg zaku 1 none of them are coming with an extra headplate and command antenna?
>>24023954Just kit bash. I made this Zaku 1 and gave it a fritz helm and dual shoulder shields to make it different. An old trick the japanese builders used in the 80's was to take a 1/35 scale machine gun and clip the base off at an angle and glue it to the head.

The chest, abdomen, backpack, upper arms, lower arms, thighs, knees (outside of the last bit), ankles and feet do not transform, most likely out of safety and structural integrity concerns.

>>24024359this Sinanju Red Comet does plenty of things better than Bandai, starting with the gold plated parts to entirely replace having to use paint or foil stickers for all the reliefs and emblems, although not all are undergated so nubs can be spotted, especially a few large ones in the chestall the thruster bells come also in metallic silver, making them stand out from the get go without requiring paint or extra metal parts and speaking of metal parts, you get spring and diecast rings to simulate the power cables in the abdomen and skirtalmost all the red armor parts are undergatedit does make heavy modifications in the form and proportions of some sections, like the head with that rooster crest and the main thrusters at the back and the fuel tanks, which are quite different from bandai's moldthe giant shield can actually hang down from the connector of the shoulder armor, I have the MG ver ka and that one simply can't do thathowever, the twin axes that go inside the shield are kinda a letdown, as they do not align properly when you rotate them towards the front of the shield if you want to attach the giant energy blades, they don't even fit properly hen you do that so they end up almost falling offthe real problem is the thigh connectors to the waist, they are really really tight and can snap easily so I suggest you sand those a bit before assembling this thing which is quite the lookeri think the version molded in white looks better but that one came months after I purchased this one

Got some sharp edged sponge brushes from hobby lobby yesterday and going to try those for cleaning it off. I'm thinking since they are flatter they can dodge the low areas easier. For some reason Bandai like to release iconic anime characters like the Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh characters in this over-the-top, modern Amplified design. They did a few Digimon (WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon) in regular Standard which IMO look a lot better. I was disappointed when they never did Mugendramon in Standard.
