The relevant politics in later Crossbone paints the Jupiter Republic in schism with the "actually what if we weren't assholes?" party and the "but what if WE controlled everything?" party, and he's got all the support of the latter for enacting specifically what they want. At a certain point it's a really arbitrary line I feel like you're drawing. All through animated Gundam Tomino is pointing to Jupiter stringpulling and Victory is where it becomes most blatant with the closest support. Scirocco is a "man with ties to Jupiter" doing his own thing; Kagatie is a man getting supplied superweapons unlike anything anyone has ever developed in regular shipments from Jupiter. It's why Crossbone as a story is dealing with the Jupiter Empire at all, as a bridge.

Even any gacha units are rather sparse, there's only a handful of ace customs. And if we haven't gotten Gato's Rick Dom already it's impossible to guess when or if it'll be added.But ehh I guess all this just makes it easier to simply choose a unit you like instead.

Darilbalde even gets a built in sway after it drops down, with Zeong you have activate it on Char, which might not be until the turn after you quasi-kamikaze it.None of this is helpful to a new player but that's gacha for youSupporter screen cheesing is half the game until you get enough busted attackers to not need 3+ support attacks.
