What are your overall thoughts on Beatbreak's new Digimon and series?
>>24037272They started off looking nice but then they all became boring and generic.
>>24030371Heavily on the rushed side. The last episode was fun tho so its fine to give it a pass. 6/10BB as a series suffers a lot from fillers. Story pacing and character growth being the primary victims. 5.5/10>>24037272Peaked at ultimate

>>24037331>BB as a series suffers a lot from fillers. What fillers?
They dropped the soundtrack on Youtube a few days ago.https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mSPyUVRaXIpeUsX_OBOmp3xh7sZVsAw18&si=VKwS6x_fCGl8my7QDoesn't seem to have the vocal version of Resonance that played when Pristimon and Chiropmon went Mega. It might be in there somewhere since the track that plays when Gekkomon comes back from the dead is at number 46 instead of at the end.>>24037272Rookie trio are great and Armalizardmon is peak. Rest are more miss than hit.
>>24037519Oh never mind. It was track 70 Tomorrow. The start didn't sound like a reprise so I thought it was one of the inserts.
Overall, I thought Beatbreak was pretty good. It wasn't really more than what it was, and the third cour could have gone much better despite containing one of the best episodes in the series. The final cour was really good. The final episode, while covering a lot of ground, didn't feel absurd in terms of pacing. There are lingering questions that I think were intentionally left unanswered, not because they want you thinking about them, but because they specifically don't want you to think about it.Tomorou's and Asuka's parents have been gone for five years. They are barely more than an addendum, and it was the same when they were first brought up. They're shown in the crowd watching Asuka's concert and cheering for him. The gravity of them being gone for 5 years when they had two dependant children shouldn't be understated, but that's not the kind of story Beatbreak is about. It's about find a family, and actual biological family gets in the way of that. Where does Tomorou live now? Is he still at Glowing Dawn's headquarters, separate from Asuka and his parents? Kyou seems to be at Nirinsou full time now, so is it just Tomorou, Reina, and Makoto?Beatbreak has a world that makes you so curious to understand more, but at the same time it leaves you wondering if there's really much more written for it. It's not quite like Adventure and 02 where a large amount of background information shapes the story. Beatbreak has a double-edged sword in its setting being in 2050; it can handwave certain things with "It's the future" and make you think there's this vast history that explains things, but that would also require having to come up with said vast history. Beatbreak itself feels much like the modern day and it's sometimes easy to forget its setting.
>>24037835>There are lingering questions that I think were intentionally left unanswered, not because they want you thinking about them, but because they specifically don't want you to think about itThose are called plot holes.
>>24037837Where Tomorou lives at the end isn't a plot hole, it's just a loose end. A plot hole is a logical gap or inconsistency inside a narrative that can't be filled with anything that would get it to the next step of the narrative without coming off as extremely contrived, or just being borderline impossible.Beatbreak certainly had its deus ex machina moments. Volvemon is a deus ex machina that we only accept because of prior Digimon media like Our War Game. SeitenGokuwmon is a deus ex machina that we only accept because we know Saiyu Warriors. We have stuff like>Gekkomon eats food>Gekkomon develops his own e-Pulse in the final few episodes>Digimon can now produce their own e-Pulse, but now eat foodNow why did Gekkomon eat food from the start? Why did he only develop e-Pulse now? Why was Atratusmon able to connect to every Sapotama? We had Albatusmon connected to every Sapotama through Wong at Apraxas, and through Sanzomon in Kintoun. If Sanzomon was the avatar of the Mother Sapotama, I can understand instinctually predicting Albatusmon and Atratusmon before they're even a thing. I can understand them being similar because their Saponushi are brothers. But with their grandfather being the creator of Sapotama, it leaves you wondering why the grandsons have such absurd potential. You can very easily imagine connective tissue that could explain things, but there's a lot of squinting with what we have.
>>24037835>It's about find[ing] a family, and actual biological family gets in the way of that. It's pretty interesting how relatively little the biological families matter to the Beatbreak story given the theme of family throughout it. Tomoro and Makoto are the only ones from Glowing Dawn who have significant family interaction. I really wish there had been an episode where Reina encountered her biological family (or a former Cleaner Gang) and told them to get lost because she has people who don't mind the way she is.>Where does Tomorou live now? Is he still at Glowing Dawn's headquarters, separate from Asuka and his parents? Kyou seems to be at Nirinsou full time now, so is it just Tomorou, Reina, and Makoto? That not being answered in the slightest is really fucking strange. I'm trying to recall the last time the containers are even shown: was it episode 43? Surely there could have been a scene in that epilogue sequence to show what happened to the HQ. It feels ridiculous they would stay in those containers given they no longer need to be outcasts living on a broken highway. I'm going to theorise they live at Nirinso alongside Kyo, it's the only way that makes sense.>>24037843>But with their grandfather being the creator of Sapotama, it leaves you wondering why the grandsons have such absurd potential. You can very easily imagine connective tissue that could explain things, but there's a lot of squinting with what we have.We should have had Kano Island from Tasuku's perspective to explain that. I know we get Klay mentioning Souji has a unique e-Pulse, but the significance of the Tenmas' e-Pulse - especially in light of the final episode - has to be far more than that. If Gekkomon eating is such an oddity that it's mentioned, why was the freakiness never explored further?I loved Beatbreak, but given what's been discussed here, there's a lot of questions that have been left unanswered that really shouldn't have been.
>>24037868Exactly. It's so easy to come up with.>Tasuku working on Sapotama using his own e-Pulse as a base>This inadvertently gives those related to him a far higher resonance with Sapotama, to the point where if one of them expresses strong emotion, it bugs out other Sapotama simply by proximity>Mother Sapotama OS AI becomes self-aware, sees Digimon as its own children>Being connected to all Sapotama, it can predict what kind of Digimon arises from someone's e-Pulse>Asuka's Sapotama immediately births a Perfect, which becomes Albatusmon>The Mother Sapotama can predict from the e-Pulse of his younger brother that it will create an appropriate counterpart that works in tandem>After the first appearance of Albatusmon, the Mother Sapotama actualizes as Sanzomon, and takes on the guise of a pre-existing scientist with a background>Approaches Wong with exactly what he wants to hear and a powerful Digimon companion, easily fills one of the missing Five Star spots>Gekkomon and HeliosBoamon also have minor administrative privilege because of the e-Pulse they're born from, and can affect e-Pulse on a massive scale at their Ultimates since Sapotama are all interconnected>Gekkomon himself, being born from a particular erratic e-Pulse, has eccentricities like eating human food or being able to punch above his level, and his bonding with Tomorou leads to him developing his own e-Pulse>As Atratusmon, he connects to all Sapotama, and his emanation and resonance spreads through all Sapotama, updating their programming and creating a mass resonance that births/rebirths Digimon from anyone who has an e-Pulse>Tomorou reunites with his family and visits them but tells them he's going to live with Glowing Dawn, he's found a dream that he wants to make happen
>>24037882That's a really clear and logical summation. The first two lines could have been included in Klay's backstory, it wouldn't need much adjusting to depict that. I want to say Beatbreak was too ambitious for its own good, but when such obvious elements have been omitted, it's less over-ambition and more under-baking.
so, is anyone going to check out the opening and ending for the remastered re-airing compilation series and upload them like on gofile?
>>24037891I'm sure they'll be posted on the Digimon Anime Twitter account. I'm going to watch the episode to see how bad the remaster is.
>>24037895It can't be any worse than the upscaled BDs. They get better as they go, but Adventure really, REALLY looks like hot ass early on.
>>24037902>they're starting off with the very first episode
>>24037902>It can't be any worse than the upscaled BDsIt's cropped to widescreen so it's even more upscaled.

>>24037904Here's a preview shot from the Digimon_Anime Twitter account.
They faked me out with the opening, but then it actually became a new opening with all the characters from the first four series, evolving using each other's methods. I recorded it, but the stream isn't great, a little choppy at points.
>>24037965I thought that OP was pretty good. They'll post it after the episode airs, I'm sure of it.
Like or dislike the main protagonist of Digimon Beatbreak?
>>24037974i didn't like both his and gekkomon design, eventualy i opened up to the gekko but tomoro is kinda meh still, i like his crocs
It's nice to be able to actually understand what the hell is being said for once without the audio being horribleIt seems that there are going to be four ending themes, because this one focuses on Adventure and notable areas in Tokyo. The next episode preview not being episode 2 is hilarious.
New opening SHAKARIKI!https://x.com/Digimon_Anime/status/2106542315791618337
>>24038006And YouTube linkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqIOdbe7rtI
>>24038002>The next episode preview not being episode 2 is hilarious. What's even weirder is episode 10 didn't even get into the top 11 vote. If it had followed the vote, next week should be episode 13.
>>24038006>>24038012They are treating Takuya's goggles differently...
>>24038124And with Taichi doing the spirit evolution, it can only mean one thing.A third Adventure remake but with Frontier's gimmick.
>>24038130Taichi does a mix of Card Slash and Spirit EvolutionDaisuke does Hyper Spirit EvolutionIt groups Human Spirits with Child, Beast Spirits with Adult/Armor, KaiserGreymon/MagnaGarurumon with Perfect, and Susanoomon with Ultimate, skipping the Double Spirits completely.
>>24038138Ah, you're right. So Colon 02 is a crossover with Tamers and Frontier.
>>24037871Digitittis
>>24038012Here's the ED, "Limitless Dreams": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irjWjYsfVk0
>>24038138Eh. If we ever wish to see a remake of Frontier somehow, they have to add Shambala lore to explain lots of stuff. The Shikyoju (Four Perilous Beasts) should be their new enemies, and would learn new techniques from the Tentei Hachibushu that they can apply on Hybrid and Hyper Spirit Evos. While the goal of the Shikyoju would still be reawakening Lucemon like what the traitor Royal Knights did in the original, they might do this out of wanting to take Lucemon's power for themselves.
>>24038193Diginormous digititties.
>>24038012>>24038016>>24038374Can someone explain what's going on? Is this a new series or just some airing of a compilation of fan-favorite episodes in random orders from random series just for fun?
>>24038944There was a vote at the start of the year for your favourite episodes of the first four seasons of Digimon. When these were revealed on August 1st, it turned out that the winning episodes were to be reaired in a remastered form later in the year. That "later in the year" turned out to be the week after Beatbreak concluded. Adventure episode 1 aired at 9:00am JST on Sunday (October 4th). They're showing a cour of the Adventure winning episodes first followed by the Tamers winning episodes.
>>24038944Next year is the 30th anniversary of Digimon, and they have a new 2027 anime planned. However, until then, they're reairing each of the top 12 episodes of Adventure, Adventure 02, Tamers, and Frontier. The episodes have been "remastered", but there's only so much you can do when you seemingly don't have the source material, so it's more like a widescreen version of these episodes with some upscaling. I don't think the episode looked AS bad as the BD, but I was watching a stream, so who knows. In commemoration, they've done a new opening and new ending(s?), made by a bunch of people with musical history with early Digimon, like Ayumi Miyazaki who sang a lot of the evolution inserts like Brave Heart, or Takayoshi Tanimoto who sang One Vision, but is pretty known for Adventure:'s OP and evolution inserts.
>>24038953>>24038954Thanks, bros. I had heard about Adventure being re-aired starting this week, but I didn't know all that background and the new OP/ED threw me off.
>>24038954>made by a bunch of people with musical history with early Digimonhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esfYz1QTx2UStill one of the best examples of that
