There are those who said this day would never come. What are they to say now?
>>24037274
>>24037274This should've been the visual Mighty Strike Freedom in the movie instead.
>>24037284Yeah, I kinda didn't like that the final new upgrade was just a slightly modified Strike freedom with a new backpack.I thought the Rising Freedom was the cooler design. Especially since it pulls back on some of the excess of the Strike Freedom and is closer to the OG Freedom. The proud defender wings are still a bit over designed but I like how they look here. Though it would've been better if instead of 5 golden "feathers" on top of the 4 white feathers on each wing they just went with 2 or 3 golden feathers that spread evenly between the white feathers. It would look more balanced that way.
>>24037274>>24037275I hope they add this in EXVS.
Have we weaponized every aspect of the gundam yet? There should be one that uses the chest vents offensively.
op is filipino
>msvLiterally never happened It's a what if.You can make a what-if where Black Widow pistol whippped Thanos so hard that he lost conciousness, fell backward onto a rock and broke his neck killing himself but it will only be a what if and never reality.
>>24039228MSVs aren't the same as that kind of what-if scenario.MSVs usually exist somewhere in the setting of their main work either as a conceptual design that wasn't constructed or a unit that appears off screen in side materials. Very different from totally imaginary timelines like "what if Char gets the Gundam during OYW"In this case this variant of the RF is one that exists, but just wasn't fielded due to the RF being destroyed before the PD was deployable or necessary to deploy.
All rook same
>>24037275This should have been the Kira's final suit in Seed Freedom instead of reusing Strike Freedom.
>>24040741Fukuda wouldn't allow anything other than his pet MS to be the most powerful ever.
>>24039260>In this case this variant of the RF is one that exists, but just wasn't fielded due to the RF being destroyed before the PD was deployable or necessary to deploy.Or, option 3, it was a systems integration test because Strike Freedom wasn't available after the theft incident.I don't think they would build a pack from scratch without testing whether it would work with an MS. It doesn't have any weapons of its own and the bike cockpit is supposed to be a retrofit, so it couldn't be used autonomously before.
>>24040818Actually it's because>old suit is inferior, new suit better Is a boring trope that Fukuda rightly rejected. CCA being a shitty movie is common knowledge but if Amuro began the movie with Nu Gundam and abandoned it for a Jesta that he beats Char's ass with it would be the hypest shit
>>24041561>CCA being a shitty movie is common knowledgeNigger, everyone in the industry worships CCA like a sacred treasure.>and abandoned it for a Jesta that he beats Char's ass with it would be the hypest shitTerrible example. The Jesta was a "new" unit as well, and a grunt to boot. You think the CE is the kind of setting that would, say, have Kira piloting a Z.A.K.U. (even with a custom backpack)? Be serious.Anyhow, this is more like if Astonaige and Mosk Han had pulled RX-78-3 from mothballs and painted it in parade colors for Amuro's use. It would be the same kind of "theatre cheering" fanservice people criticize Disney for constantly doing in Star Wars and the MCU. Tomino isn't that kind of director: MS are tools for him and his characters.
>>24040829It was built for Rising because Kira found it didn't have the power required for his Jesus Yamato moments as shown in the beginning of the film where despite taking down dozens he's completely wiped out afterwards. It was to bring Rising back up to the level of the previous Freedom's. It was hastily retrofitted to fit Strike Freedom thanks to that new genius guy on board which also ends up being ridiculously overkill because SF itself was already a powerful machine.
what's the point, strike freedom's backstory got retconned like 6 fucking times, and I'm expecting the same shit with this one too
>>24042969That's not Strike Freedom, dumbass. Its exact origin is water under the bridge at this stage.
>>24042974I'm comparing it to strike freedom, dumbass
>>24042929>It was hastily retrofitted to fit Strike FreedomNo because the Disruptor requires the Proud Defender to work. Which means the Disruptor was built with the Proud Defender in mind.
>>24043406Which again makes no sense because they weren't planning on using Strike Freedom anytime soon according to the story. Unless the disruptor itself was added quickly prior to them deploying
>>24040829>Or, option 3, it was a systems integration test because Strike Freedom wasn't available after the theft incident. >I don't think they would build a pack from scratch without testing whether it would work with an MS.This. I suspect Kira was already working on creating the Proud Defender pack during Seed Freedom Zero along with plans for the Strike Freedom upgrade. But then Strike Freedom got hijacked and the suit was heavily damaged with an unknown date on when it would get repaired. When the original Freedom got trashed after Season 1, it took them over a year to rebuild it. Seed Freedom Zero takes place 6 to 8 months prior to Seed Freedom. So Kira probably had to switch to Rising Gundam for testing Proud Defender. A case of "use what you have available and just make due for the time being."
>>24043893Why would it need it? Strike Freedom was cutting edge right after Destiny. It and IJ basically soloed most of the Zaft fleet. It didn't need a power up until the Black Knights were in the picture. Makes far more sense for it to be designed for Rising to make up for it's power loss compared to SF.
>>24043902Same thing could be said for the Rising since it was doing fine against the enemies they expected to fight, including the Destroy Gundams. It didn't struggle until it fought the BKs.
>>24043971It was doing ok but it was well below Kira's usual power output, which you could see by the sheer effort he had to put into fighting all those forces in the opening fight compared to how he used to basically sleepwalk through grunt fights in Freedom and SF.
>>24044067>which you could see by the sheer effort he had to put into fighting all those forces in the opening fight compared to how he used to basically sleepwalk through grunt fights in Freedom and SFI think that's more of a drama thing ("I HATE FIGHTING AND WE AREN'T ACCOMPLISHING ANYTHING!!!") than Rising's actual technical capability. Kira wiped out the Blue Cosmos forces with zero effort.
>>24044067>It was doing ok but it was well below Kira's usual power outputI feel like that's more directorial than a powerlevel issue, I mean, look at how slow and braindead kira was in the fight against Stella's destroy, or how much he was struggling against the druggies throughout seed
>>24043902>>24043971You need to understand the design philosophy behind Mighty. It's the ultimate "win without fighting" unit:>barrier that blocks every single kind of attack: beams, railguns, missiles...>telepathically controlled nanoparticles that can remotely disable entire fleets>Disruptor beam that can cut through all matter without causing an explosion
>>24043971>>24044102Man, SEED Freedom's CGI is so much better than Hathaway's.
>>24044108>or how much he was struggling against the druggies throughout seedThat's called bad writing, or if you want to be generous, "jobbing". Kira had numerous occasions to kill the fucking worthless Boosted Men, especially after Justice showed up.
>>24044113delulu
>>24044113Hathaway suffers from Murase stubbornly wanting to ape Nolan when that aesthetic just doesn't work for the gundam combat under his current direction of it. And also the fact that the designs were already bulky as fuck and don't work for typical gundam humanoid hand to hand combat either.Hathaway's Gundam's should've been animated like fighter jets. They should've taken notes from Macross. Especially since one of the ideas of Hathway is to show that mobile suit tech and battle strategy has developed so much that they have looped back around and become simlar in function to the conventional combat vehicles(Helicopters and Fighter Jets) they initially replaced.
>>24043902Then anime director of Seed Freedom specifically said in interviews that Kira was unhappy with the performance of Rising Freedom compared to Strike Freedom. Which makes sense that, besides the new drone shield, the Rising Freedom is essentially a watered down battery powered version of the original Freedom.
>>24044177>Hathaway suffers from Murase stubbornly wanting to ape Nolan when that aesthetic just doesn't work for the gundam combat under his current direction of it. Thanks for putting my thoughts into words. I wasn't quite sure how to describe Hathaway's Flash. I was watching the movie but couldn't quite describe what I was feeling. I was watching a movie about Giant Robots but the movie lacked the majesty and awe of giant robots fighting each other. I also wasn't sure what year this movie is supposed to take place in. I thought Gundam was supposed be several hundred years in the future yes? They are supposed have flying cars like I saw in 0079 (picture attached), but everything in Hathaway's Flash looked like it took place 2026. I swear I saw cars in the background that looked like modern BMWs and Rolls Royce. It was not future cars at all. Would you say the Director is copying the Nolan aesthetic of trying to keep everything hyper realistic?
>>24044166The only delulus are the people who think the CGI in the latest Hathaway film looked acceptable.
>>24044214>They are supposed have flying cars like I saw in 0079 (picture attached),I feel like even Zeta stepped back on that. See the pilot suits becoming bulkier and when we see Hong Kong, it's mostly 80s Hong Kong. I really got the impression Tomino thought the futuristic aesthetic of the first Gundam looked goofy and actually wanted everything that wasn't directly tied to the mobile suit/space technology to look pretty much like "modern" Earth - note even the small civilian cars for 1/2 people were actually based on electric models from the time, just way more widespread.
>>24044225We saw stuff in Zeta like civilians now having access to jet backpacks like it's no big deal. Which seems to miniaturize whatever technology is being used in the flying cars from 0079. Hathaway Flash seems to ignore it.
>>24044264that jet wingsuit existed in 2015 so by UC standards it's like 200+year old tech.Origin didn't forget that hovercars existed.
>>24037274>>24037275So it's just Rising Freedom with Mighty Strike Freedom's wings? Where's the katana?
>>24044346It's Rising Freedom, but its lost the ability to transform.
>>24044346proud defender originally didn't have a katana or a cockpit. it was supposed to be fully auto-guided and dock with rising freedom like the impulse automatically docks parts and packs. because of all the bullshit that happened in the movie, they hurriedly modified the proud defender to work with strike freedom instead of rising freedom, and added the katana because their enemies the black knight MS squad all use beamproof armor that makes beam sabers much less effective
>>24044360Mehh. Rising Freedom was a garbage mobile suit anyway. Proud Defender is better with Strike Freedom. More power and more lethal final combination.
>>24044193>Kira was unhappy with the performance of Rising Freedom THIS FUCKING PHRASE AGAIN. How many times have you written this exact fucking thing?>>24036096
>>24044214>I thought Gundam was supposed be several hundred years in the future yes?iirc the universal century is supposed to start in the late 21st or 22nd century iirc so 0079 is like 2150a.d or 2250a.d
>>24044599You are one weird anon. If thats what Fukuda said then whats the problem
>>24044641The problem is you repeating the EXACT same sentence over and over and over. It really sounds like spam or Duel, who I know is leaving his fecal droppings on /a/. Can you at least change the fucking wording?Or is this some bot?
>>24044656I dont care about your imaginary rivalry with your enemy. Dont drag me into into it
>>24044670>imaginary rivalryUh-oh, this confirms it.
>>24044177>>24044214>I was watching a movie about Giant Robots but the movie lacked the majesty and awe of giant robots fighting each other. That's because the director is aiming for something very different: showcasing the sheer horror of MS combat. There is no "majesty" to be made about a bunch of terrorists fighting a secret police. This shot is among the best in the first movie. We've seen mecha dropping their weapons all the time in shows and movies, but this gives us a sense of human scale: the rifle is the size of a fucking building. This is a constant theme:>The residual sparks of a beam shot are powerful enough to melt metal street posts.>A Messer landing causes a dust cloud the size of a street block>the feet of a Manhunter Jegan dwarf street traffic. There's lots of panoramic shots and the ground moves below the characters as they fly away. Everything in the animation is deliberate and gives you a sense of things happening of a much wider context. The field research in the Philippines and Australia is a part of that, and it shows.
>>24044656If Fukuda literally said those exact words then what is your issue with it? Do you hate Fukuda?
>>24044677Ok, but then you have shit like this:https://youtu.be/-Ad8OPal2So?si=9xcQEBf0OTaqRfeY
>>24044685My issue is with you. You're a fucking spammer. Can you rephrase the statement at least, so it's not so notorious? Do you speak English, even?
>>24044685You come off like you're quoting scripture, not like you have any idea what you're saying, which makes your posts of minimal value.
>>24044688What's the problem with that sequence? I think it's excellent.>Xi detects danger approaching.>Hathaway turns the unit around and fires missiles to intercept>Later, he fires grenades that create a chaff cloud, shooting down the restEverything takes time to happen. There's no "money shot" of the interceptions themselves, just the camera in the cockpit. Everything has a mass, like the Messer hooking up with the Galcezon or the Xi's turn. You can tell the animators took clues from combat footage from Ukraine. And sure, you can complain about the CG being rough around the edges, but's that's compensated by interesting direction.
>>24044693He's this close from calling him "Fukuda kantoku-dono".
>>24044698Yeah, it's pointless to talk to someone who's pretentious enough to think this looks good or even exciting.https://youtu.be/VZQxHLs3mOk?si=gG6DZeu8lSNbFdvM
>>24044712Okay, make an argument, then. Other than the CG, what makes that scene look bad or boring? Spewing buzzwords doesn't help you.
>>24044693Seems like you are obsessed with anyone who mentions fukuda. You have fukuda derangement syndrome.
>>24044677Contrast this to the direction of SEED Freedom, which is orthodox to a fault. If you pay attention, you'll note that a good deal of the action shots in the movie either start or end with a close-up of the robot's head. It's constant to the point of becoming monotonous, and that is added to the style of having the robots posing all the time. Plus the fast pace, sometimes so frenetic it's difficult to make sense of what you're watching. This is a real accomplishment from the point of view of storyboarding and animating, but it makes for lousy direction. For all the things moving on-screen, there's surprisingly little damage happening across that fight: SF loses its DRAGOONs and gets a surface stab in the chest, but the rest of the body is mostly intact. There's no "majesty" and much less "awe" at work here. The visual language at work here, to the extent there is one, honestly feels like watching a toddler on Monster Energy playing with a bunch of toys:>and then pew-pew and then zoom-whoom and then there's an explosion and the robot moves around and then...
>>24044715It needlessly over-complicates a tiny skirmish against just TWO enemy mobile suits. If this were any other UC Gundam series like Zeta Gundam, Kamille would have killed them in a few seconds.
>>24044677>showcasing the sheer horror of MS combatHe only ever achieves this in the attack on davao and the go pro footage at the start of HF2.Every other MS scene suffers from poor cinematography and the actual combat is just poorly coordinated. Even if you're trying to convey the horror of combat you still need to create an aesthetically competent image. That's the foundational logos of filmmaking. You undercut your argument with bad imagery and screaming "but that's the point" isn't a viable justification.Warfare is a film that does an amazing job at conveying this idea to the viewer, it's a movie that makes you want to never be even remotely near a battlefield and it does that with solid cinematography. You want to look at the screen. If you want to convince people through film the image has to actually draw them in and immerse them otherwise your message will be totally ignored or just seem amateurish. Higher quality cinematographic images create depth and simultaneously bolster your message by creating a visceral example of what you're trying to convey. This instills trust in the viewer through authentic imagery, and makes them fall more deeply into the world you're illustrating. If your images have poor color balancing, or bad lighting whether it's due to an artistic decision or amateurish sloppiness it draws the viewer out of the experience and your thematic argument now falls apart because they don't intrinsically trust the image being shown to them. There's a difference in a war film that makes you disgusted with the act of war vs a war film that makes you disgusted with watching the war film.
>>24044698>There's no "money shot" of the interceptions themselves, just the camera in the cockpit. It repeats the same shots over and over. Exterior shot, then cockpit view from Hathaway, then a matching movement cut (e.g. Gundam head turns left and Hathaway's head turns left) to go back to the exterior shot. The basic rule is you need at least 3 different angles/scenes to make it visually interesting and not repetitive. The battle scene really needed a scene shown from the enemy cockpits too. Not just 1. Battle outside2. Hathaway cockpit3. Battle outside. 4. Repeat
>>24044718You understand how obnoxious and pathetic it looks when you repeat (word by precise word, with no variation whatsoever), the same fucking phrase?>>24044193>Kira was UNHAPPY with the PERFORMANCE of Rising Freedom>24023777>Kira was UNHAPPY with the PERFORMANCE of the Rising Freedom.>24026203>Kira was very UNHAPPY with the combat PERFORMANCE of Rising Freedom>24035661>was very UNHAPPY with the PERFORMANCE of Rising Freedom.>24026266>Kira was very UNHAPPY with the PERFORMANCE of Rising Freedom.>hurr durr but that's what fukuda said! No, those are not his precise words because it's paraphrasing from a translation of his comments, which you haven't had even the courtesy of linking to in all of this time (so we're just taking your word for it out of courtesy! Go figure...).The English language has synonyms: you do not need to repeat the same thing over and over.
>>24044731I'm not even part of this debate but I'm going to copy paste this "Fukuda was unhappy..." statement into every Seed thread I see because now I know how much it annoys you. It makes you seethe so much.
>>24044715We were talking about the CGI, it's not just the fact that it looks bad, it looks bad because it's not directed well. Too much low effort dragging the still models around, even the suits that don't have Minovsky Craft look weightless and floaty as fuck. That Australian outback landscape looks like some low effort Unity asset with the exact same fucking bush copypasted a hundred times over the samey terrain. It's laughable how your pretentious ass feels that the 3D model of the Base Jabber being dragged down a bit when the Messer steps on it is worthy of praise.5 fucking years to make this shit btw.I'll take a decent job at making CGI look like classic 2D animation (with some actual 2D thrown in here and there) a million times over a horribly janky and low effort attempt at making CGI look "realistic".https://youtu.be/2-W6apq1GYE?si=ZeL6utXg4CZE1r2n
>>24044720>There's no "majesty" and much less "awe" at work here. The visual language at work here, to the extent there is one, honestly feels like watching a toddler on Monster Energy playing with a bunch of toys:The issue with this comparison is that SEED is successful here. This is exactly the kind of feeling SEED is trying to invoke. It's a series that is juvenile and is intentionally designed like a shoujo take on Gundam. There is 100% a competent visual language to SEED as well, it draws from a lot of tokusatsu shows. The focus on the faces of the MS and the obari sword poses are meant to convey a sense of heroism and also represent how the gundams in this setting aren't simply just tools but deeply tied to the identity of the pilots.
>>24044735>That Australian outback landscape looks like some low effort Unity asset with the exact same fucking bush copypasted a hundred times over the samey terrain. This was another issue I had with that scene too. It's so distracting. 0083 and 08th ms had battles in similar desert flatland environments but the background art was handled a lot better.
How is Kira unhappy with Risings performance when it's literally an upgrade over the original freedom in every way? No dragoons? Can't use them I the atmosphere anyway and frankly the booster shield more than makes up for it and Is harder to stop
>>24044847I'd imagine Kira didn't have manage power output in Freedom compared to Rising Freedom. With Rising Freedom, there's always the risk of running out of power mid-fight unlike in Freedom. Someone that likes to spam beam attacks and be flashy like Kira would find constant battery management annoying.
>>24044847It's what Fukuda said in an interview when explaining Rising Freedom Gundam to Japanese fans. Then he told a story about how the suit was supposed to have more of a mass production look but there was a miscommunication with the mecha designer for the movie. The designer accidentally made Rising and Immortal look like actual Gundams with a Gundam head. Fukuda didn't have time to delay the movie and wait for a re-designs. So he just kept the designs and used them for the movie. From what I could tell from Fukuda's words they were basically supposed to look more like GMs.
>>24044847No nuclear power = lower output weaponsNo nuclear power = lower output thrustersNo nuclear reactor = not able to beam spam repeatedly. It wouldn't surprise me if a single beam spam drains the battery by several percentage points. Of course Kira would be unhappy. Especially after using Strike Freedom
>>24044847>and frankly the booster shield more than makes up for it and Is harder to stopThe booster shield seems to be bulkier and harder to use in close combat. It also seems to have weaker anti-beam coating and can't block beam saber strikes that well.
>>24044847Rising is NEWER but it's not STRONGER. Give me the original Freedom every single time. If they were cars, Rising would be like a Toyota Prius. Everything is designed around the idea of being efficient and energy saving. Original Freedom is like a muscle car. Older. Less technology. But Designed around maximum output horsepower with giving af about saving energy.
>>24044847>frankly the booster shield more than makes up for it Not really. It's a giant beam boomerang. >and Is harder to stopDebatable. All the enemies that encountered only lost because they were taken by surprise and using older suits that were in poor condition. A well prepared enemy probably won't fall for it.
>>24044731>No, those are not his precise wordsProve it.
>>24037274How the heck does this thing even work? This suit would run out of power in like 1 minute. Rising Freedoms battery can't power those weapons without being drained. Rising doesn't have the dueterion beam system either like Impulse. So once the battery dies it needs to go back to the ship for a recharge. Makes zero sense
>>24045142Fukuda said not to take databooks seriously. They are made for fun and don't always reflect the views of himself or the staff. They are often written with outdated information or something the director didn't approve of. Fukuda read them for fun but only take the anime and interviews with the staff seriously.
Does it have the forehead beam?
>>24045330>Fukuda said not to take databooks seriously. There's no other performance to refer to. There's no contradiction here, cause there's no other point of reference other then blind speculation.
>>24045387Then how would Mighty Rising Freedom even work? The power demands are enormous for that nano particle shield and lightning blast.
>>24045393probably a lower output version of that weapon, or it just burns through its battery in one use.Unless the proud defender has its own NJC?
>>24045393I don't think it works at all. It's probably why the Proud Defender had so much trouble connecting with the Rising Freedom and why Kira was so frustrated. He was putting his best efforts to try to make the connection work but it failed. I can imagine Kira kept trying a bunch of test programs and algorithms that would try to lower output but kept failing.A lot people in this Seed threads seem to forget one major thing: Kira did not design Rising Freedom Gundam. Zaft and Orb Engineers did. These people made decisions that Kira himself maybe wouldn't do. It explains why Kira was so frustrated if Fukuda is to be believed. Kira was tinkering with someone else's design work.
>>24045397Doesn't the battery have to meet minimum voltage requirement before it can power weapons? Like you can't expect a Strike Gundam battery to power Destroy Gundam even for 1 second. It would trip a breaker or blow a fuse
>>24045330You can't take what Fukuda say seriously either. The man is constantly contradicting himself. What is consider canon and accurate information is all based on the vibe of Fukuda at the moment.
>>24045330It's best to not take anything Fukuda says seriously either. This is the same man who said Astray was non canon because he was seething at the fact that Lowe did the katana thing first, despite the fact that Astray was part of SEED's multimedia project launch and even went out of its way to fix his fuck-ups.
>>24045528I don't agree with Fukuda on a lot of things, but do you think it's fair to disown Astray when it just becomes too much? As far as I know Fukuda didn't hate Astray at first, but a lot of the stuff the writers for Astray did is pretty bonkers and ridiculous as time went on. Such as building a giant ship sized physical katana that was as big as the Archangel ship, and could slice open colonies with its swings. That technology just breaks so many things about the rules of the Seed universe. So I can't exactly blame Fukuda for hating it.
>>24045528>This is the same man who said Astray was non canon because he was seething at the fact that Lowe did the katana thing firstProof?
>>24045528Gonna need you to cite your sources...or are you gonna run away like last time?

>>24037274it feels more like an afterthought considering Kira and Athrun are supposed to pilot Murasames on that part. fukuda just liked the couple of sketches that Okawara did so he changed them into what we know now as Rising and Immortal.
>>24045886You aren't fooling anyone.
>>24045896Yeah. Rising Freedom and Immortal Justice were basically heavily upgraded Murasames with some extra tech thrown in. Which matches well with Fukuda's statements about Kira not liking the performance of Rising Freedom. I think the Gundam head throws a lot of people off. If they were plain looking mass production heads without the Gundam crown, then people would believe it more.
>>24045899Immortal Justice isn't a problem. It can transform and has lots of beam sabers. It has no beam shield which drains power, and the backpack can't detach. So Immortal Justice is realistic. It's a downscaled battery powered Justice Gundam mixed with some Aegis tech. The real problem is Rising Freedom. It can fly under gravity, transform, has phase shift, has Full Burst mode, has Hi-Mat, has the drone shield (which also has phase shift), multiple beam cannons, AND has an energy guzzling beam shield. Not even Akatsuki can do all that. I feel like orb designers were really pushing the limits of battery tech. It's a bit unrealistic to pack all that technology on just a battery powered suit.
>>24044735>5 fucking years to make this shit btw. They didn't spend 5 full years working on it. The actual work was probably 1 to 2 years. The rest of the time was spent on "scouting" (aka free trips to exotic locations paid for by the company).
>>24045898Fooling anyone about what? I can copypaste your schizoid bullshit onto the archive and find you seething over Fukuda, saying the exact same shit and playing retard when questioned in threads from back when SEED Freedom came out. Not once did he actually say thank you or acknowledge they were wrong. The idiots even took my personal scans and uploaded it to their wiki page and claimed all the credit. They gave THEMSELVES credit on their wiki page, and refused to mention it came from 4chan. The scans they stole even still has the custom watermark I added still on the page. So yeah. Fuck that this wiki beggar. Never gonna help you fuckers write your wiki again. Go order the databooks yourself from Japan. It's not on any public website either so you will have to spend your own money.
>>24045571>>24045988The main issue with those panels is the art. A main character walking all over special forces is something that already happened in SEED tv. The eye is just a mechanical implant.
Unfortunately for astray anon I can prove him wrong and I only need to cite his own posts to do it.'Fukuda hates astray' was a meme that existed before seed freedom with no basis and only recently has he added the 'hurdur he hates that astray used a katana first'. He will never give proof for his claims because they don't exist.
>>24046050Anon is talking about the Japanese promotional fan meetups that happened around the time Seed Freedom was released. It was done to promote the Seed Freedom movie. The Japanese wrote about these events on social media. A select group of Japanese fans could attend the event and ask questions with the movie staff and learn more about the film. Director Fukuda was able to attend one of these fan meetups. So the Japanese fans were able to directly ask Fukuda questions about the movie. One of the questions was about Mighty Strike Freedom's Katana and if Lowe from Seed Astray manga helped Kira forge it. Apparently, Fukuda seemed slightly "annoyed" at the question and said that Seed Astray is completely unrelated to the Seed movie. Fukuda stressed there were zero ties and no connection. Fukuda also added that he personally doesn't consider Seed Astray as "real Gundam Seed" because he didn't direct it or write the story.Of course we are going off what the Japanese fans have said about the meetup event. Fukuda himself has not confirmed or denied the words. So it's up to you whether or not you consider Japanese fans social media posts as a valid source. The event was not video recorded and there was no photography was allowed. So fans can only share what happened by writing about it.
>>24046082Lmao. We all know that Gundam wiki doesn't consider social media posts as valid sources even if the Director himself writes it. They are hyper obsessed with useless databooks and nothing else.
>>24046082Dude don't tell him where to look. It's more enjoyable watching him whine and beg in these threads.
>>24046017>The eye is just a mechanical implant. Then why is it in his forehead?
>>24046082Isn't this like asking if all Japanese swords were made by musashi miyamoto? That's kind of tone deaf especially since the GiNNs that took part in break the world also had katanas. Did Lowe make those too?
>>24046181Red Frame Astray mobile suit is pretty popular with Japanese fans. It even has a perfect grade release.
>>24046181Yeah it's a weird question to ask. But part of me thinks the Japanese fans were politely trolling Fukuda. Within the Japanese community it's been heavily rumored that Fukuda doesn't get along with the Seed Astray manga staff. It all started when Seed Astray had Lowe save Kira in Strike Gundam. Apparently Fukuda wasn't consulted about this storyline and it made Fukuda mad. He didn't want Lowe saving Kira. Later on Seed Astray was going to launch a Seed manga series with the Astray girls from Season 1. They were going to to be the main characters and have stories featuring them.Fukuda apparently heard about it, and then mysteriously ALL 3 Astray Girls were killed brutally in the ending of Seed Season 1. With zero room for doubt. The Seed Astray writers were not informed of their deaths until the episode actually aired on TV. This caused big issues behind the scenes and the entire manga had to be rewritten last minute and many storylines canceled. Many Japanese fans speculate that this was payback from Fukuda. They asked Fukuda in an interview if he talks with any of the manga writers and Fukuda cheekily denied it. He said he doesn't have "spare time" to talk to the manga staff and is too busy directing the Seed anime. But many found it odd that only the Astray girls were killed. The rest of the good guy faction characters survived. Even Mwu survive being shot by Lohengrin (which the Japanese thought was hilarious and weird). Then the Seed Astray writers got back at Fukuda by writing about Orb and all the behind the scenes politics and factions fighting each other behind the scenes. Fukuda apparently didn't like this either. He doesn't like the idea of Orb not being united and having infighting behind the scenes. The Japanese fans were definitely trolling Fukuda with that question in my opinion.
>>24046191He must be salty that the Astray mangas mog the fuck out of the main series I bet he works overtime pulling his connections to make sure they never get an anime
>>24046181>That's kind of tone deaf especially since the GiNNs that took part in break the world also had katanas. Did Lowe make those too?Uhh...Anon....Actually....If you believe the Seed Astray is canon, then yes. Lowe was somehow involved in their creation. I know you were being sarcastic, but Seed Astray manga inserted itself into that anime storyline, and said they were involved in the creation of those Katanas used by the Ginns.
>>24046191>opinion>not factAnd the TRUTH will SET YOU FREEyou made up the 'fukuda hates astray' nonsense and it's all hearsay overexaggerationsThank you. Thread over.
>>24046217>Lacking reading comprehension The original statement was that Fukuda doesn't consider Gundam Seed Astray as canon.
>>24046191Japamese polite culture means all the juicy gossip is hidden behind closed doors.
>>24046217Nice goal post shifting. You begged anons for a source on Fukuda saying Seed Astray was not real Gundam Seed. Then when you got it, the goalpost suddenly changed to Fukuda "hating" Gundam Seed Astray. Don't think we didn't notice.
>>24046195I can't agree with astray on this one. Zaft was already shown to be capable of making giant physical swords in Gundam Seed. Making a katana is not a stretch. Why does astray try to make it so mystical and something only lowe can do? It's pointless.
>>24046015>Different anon here but I actually answered his questions 2 years ago and gave scans from a seed databook I ordered from JapanYou didn't answer my questions because I never asked *you* anything in the first place, someone else did. I don't even know whatever you were trying to prove because I know I wasn't part of that thread, I don't even remember seeing anyone here share any SEED databooks, just a few screenshots at most (and you can definitely keep those to yourself, I'm not asking for any of your shit, schizo).>>24046104I don't know why I didn't do this sooner, but one quick Google search shows me that the Gundam wiki doesn't even fucking have an article on Fukuda. These retarded schizos really think I'm gonna write a whole page about him based on (nonexistent) Tweets claiming he hates Astray, I might've as well scraped his whole Xitter page to write an article about him based on every single random comment he Tweets if I was a desperate wiki mod looking to steal any info possible like they claim. That's how retarded their logic is.
>>24046238>when you got itBut he didn't, all he got was the same schizoid anon once again claiming that it totally happened and that you must take his word for it. It's really easy to claim that the "Japanese fans" said this or that to make it seem like it holds any weight, even if they never really said what they supposedly said.

>>24044727>>24044736What you need to understand is that this whole thing is at the mercy of the executives at the toy company, who literally do not care. Every production is fungible with the other. There is very little place for artistic expression, much less accurately depicting the horror of war. Compromises have to be made.In a Bandai exec's ledger sheet, Turn A and AGE are the worst Gundam shows ever created because they had terrible performance with their toys. Hathaway wouldn't be much a highlight either. It barely has new models to push model kits, to the point they had to create an entirely new unit almost from scratch so they could have something fresh to feature in store shelves. If there's a thing I can fault the producers of Hathaway, it's spending too much of their budget into location scouting, instead of paying more attention to the animation itself.
>>24049296>There is very little place for artistic expression, much less accurately depicting the horror of war. Compromises have to be made. This is an absolute lie. Outside of a few core requirements (must have a certain number of mobile suits, battles, etc), the Gundam movie Directors and staff have a good amount of freedom. As long as the movie makes money and sells gunpla, the Bandai Executives leave the movie alone and let the staff do whatever they want. You can even read behind the scenes interviews of the production where they are discussing how much freedom they have. There's even interviews where they discuss what mobile suit Lane should pilot for movie 2. They mentioned ZZ Gundam and a bunch of other ideas before settling on a Nu Gundam variant with Azyleus Gundam. The staff just didn't do a good job with movie 2 when it came to battles and animation.

Or Oshii, with his two hours of characters pondering and six seconds of mecha action at the end.Much less doing an actually gory Gundam, where people get actually gored in detail by faceless robots, Angel Cop-style.There's a tacit understanding of the rules between the execs and the creatives.>As long as the movie makes money and sells gunpla, the Bandai Executives leave the movie alone and let the staff do whatever they want. And how many new gunpla did Hathaway 2 have? Because they had to follow the novel's overall structure, they blew their load with the first movie, which forced them to put Alyzeus as a literal and figurative replacement.
