Are you excited for Sunrise's Macross?
>>24043176Sunrise can't handle their own franchise imagine other people's.
The real news is that DYRL is finally free from the weird jail it was in
if it's more Valkyrie focused, maybe. ot that I trust satellite with their own ip since their fucking insistent on cramming idolshit on everything.
Yeah idols in Macross wow crazy.
>>24043176do we know anything at all about it other than "sunrise is doing it"?
>>24043189Right? That literally never happened before Delta./s
>>24043179Oh wow that’s actually really fucking amazing
Why did the new Macross get outsourced to Sunrise, while Sunrise is outsourcing their newest Gundam shows to other studios?
>>24043179What happened? Sunrise throw a ton of money at one of the two parties?
>>24043176No. I'm very tired of Idol shit.
>>24043281Sunrise themselves have a pretty noticeable talent drain when it comes to people capable of doing mech stuff so a smaller outfit like Satelight probably has it even worse simply might not be able to handle something of that scale now. Sunrise at least would have those outsourcing contacts to work with.
>>24043281Why thinking outsourcing is bad thing???
>>24043281probably they wanted to shake up the formula of each franchise. For gundam it's more than just outsourcing animation to a different studio, they gave creative control to specific creators. For Sunrise's Macross we don't know much yet.
>>24043311Why thinking you talk english good???
>>24043179For those wanting a domestic release of DYRL, I hope this works-out for them, but with that wonky yet specific wording, I won't be surprised if this just means BW can now sell DYRL related music and merch, rather than having rights to license the film.
>>24043320It didn't occur to me originally but now you got me wondering if it's an Ace Combat like situation
>>24043327Hopefully I'm overthinking things, but it's just weird wording, if the idea is to get people excited for overseas distribution of the movie. Merch rights for DYRL are/were handled by Tatsunoko, which via sublicense to Harmony Gold is how we got those DYRL-branded toys, back in the day; part of me wonders, if something related to this facet of the property has changed. Regardless, between BW's atrocious international handling of Macross, since their agreement with HG, and with everything around DYRL always being seemingly complicated, I'm just more inclined to maintain low expectations.
>>24043176J please, for the love of god, stop adding foidslop into the franchise.
Should've been Transformers
>>24043362No one wants to see more trannyformers and whining about why slavery is lebad
>>24043337Even if it just means they don't have to trim out stuff from tie-in games or whatever in the future I'd chalk that up as something of a win.
>>24044305Sure, if it makes exporting new merch and stuff easier, I'm all for it, and I honestly don't mean to be a downer. It's just I saw the jubilant response on the net, once that slide started to make the rounds, and kept thinking, "Man, I'm not sure this means what people want it to mean."
>>24043176Can't be worse than the rest of the franchise's output
