Posted from last thread. I recently got some Bandai Water slide decals for some high grades I'm working on. First one I'm working on at the moment is Rising Freedom and my question is are there any directions on where to apply these decals? I'm not seeing any instructions on the packet.
>>24056703From what I remember about other Bandai decals I've bought, you're meant to wing it and do what you think looks coolest. You can look up other builds that used that set and see what people came up with. Third party guys like G-Rework or Delpi will usually have something that specifically tells you where each decal goes.
>>24056633Slowly working on the HG Quess' Jag Doga.Don't know if I got a bad batch or because it's a relatively old kit, but there's a lot of swirls in the plastic. Well, there's a few for the red parts, but the joints/ inner frame bits are really bad.
>>24056711Really, so many of the inner frame parts have all these swirls.
>>24056711>>24056712>snapshitter finds out metallic injection has alot of swirlsWowee we haven't had one you retards in a good while. Be like that jap who bought like 20 F90s just so he can have a swirl free snapshit.
Who ever told me to use acrylic instead of enamel- thank youWaited for a day for enamel to dry before second coat- didn't work, bare plastic is too smooth and the second brush's thinner just lift the first coat. (The 2 tiny vents)Went to town in the afternoon and got these (the store boss recommended me modo). With one coat (the right center black) did most of the color coverage. And coating with other color (the gray) did not result in lifting of color at all and all 3 coats was done within 10 minutes. I think will redo all the parts with these. Having using Vallejo before, model colors don't particularly stick too well to bare plastic, they literally came off just by hard handling them. These modo paints seem to be more sturdy but by how much? Anyone got experience with it? It says it can brush and airbrush right out of the bottle, but it is a bit thick so I add some water for my brush painting.

Posting my stupid fucking question again just in case by some slight chance anybody might know, but would anybody happen to know if the typical Mechanical Bust kits scale to 1/60 pretty well? I only have one 1/60 kit but I thought it would be neat to have one of these busts with it as sort of a companion piece, but I'm an absolute faggot when it comes to proper scaling. I got and built the Nu Gundam one years ago and while it is cool, knowing how large the Nu Gundam is I'm pretty sure the bust is slightly too small for 1/60, but others might not be.
>>24056815Question for you anon. How do you get such clean dark into light color edge fades? Its a technique that I've been dying to learn how to do properly.
>>24056888I have the exia and the nu and they are the exact same size, so non scale. The other busts are the same as well as far as Ive seen in photos online.
>>24056805Beautiful hand.
>>24056904Oh no you're absolutely right, I only have the one but I've seen pictures showing they're the same size. I know they're technically non-scale but knowing the Nu Gundam is a little too small to be 1/60, but was wondering if some of the more traditionally sized ones like Wing or Exia might be roughly equivalent to a PG of the same suit

>>24056801why do a lot of the gundam frames have those retarded pointed platform shoes?

>>24056633Just the weapons and decals to go. Surprised this came with water slides as an RG, but this is my first P Bandai RG so maybe that's normal. Probably just going to do the Crossbone vanguard icon on the chest and the purple scars for the face. Speaking of the face, had it fully done and realized I should have painted the inside of the mouth with like a floursecent red. I would disassemble it, but I put some plastic glue on the top skull and it apparently ran enough where the head clamshell is partially glued. If/when I do an X-1 RG I will need to do it. along with the X-0/X-2/X-3 MGs I have on order.Shout out to the anon that said to wash the plastic cape. Gives it a bunch of depth and I think the matte coat with even out some in of the spots.
>>24057116Not complaining, i said i didn't get it. I honestly think the conclusion could be the whole review. I don't get why minutes are spent saying a kit is easy to panel line or not and how he had to whip out the micron for this or that. Like would this change your willingness to purchase? Same for mold lines, if you know enough to recognize what it is then you know how to get rid of it, do you need to be forewarned about their location?

What is the purpose of a foil sticker on a clear part? IE: clear blue optic and then a blue foil sticker on it.
So how do you make it so your paint doesnt chip? is there a way to get it durable on joints and contact between armor sections and limbs? I’ve painted a few things and havent clear coated them yet and they’re chipping and rubbing paint and shit. Is a layer or two of matte gonna cut it???I sanded some joints and painted them for the first time (elbows and knees) and I so far so good but I just want to be done with these kits and not need to touch them up again!
>>24057268are you sure the sticker isn't supposed to go under the clear part?
>>24056815I like the shading style bevause it reminds me of old ps2 games and shit, but I always wonder does the shading represent lighting? Does it represent dust? Is it just ambiguous where it can be both which is why it was used so much for old videogames? It’s comfy and nice to look at but obviously doesn’t look realistic.
>>24057270Yes, pic related for example. Gun sights also do this where you put the foil sticker on a clear colored piece.
>>24057274You can just color the clear piece with a sharpie and get a pretty cool colored transparent effect on it.
>>24057277I've done that on some pieces, but I'm just curious if there's a reason why bandai does this. Why make it a clear blue piece when they could have just made it clear or grey.
>>24057280Out of the box with no further work the sticker is shinier, so for snapfit builds that's why it's included. The clear piece is included for people who want to go further, either with painting of some sort or for LEDs. Same reason eyes are sometimes molded in clear plastic even if cover them with the standard sticker in oob builds.

>>24057534Saw some review channels claiming she is the best 30MS released this year. It's hilarious how she totally overshadowed the P Bandai girl that was released a day before.Meanwhile I was checking what they could do with the shogun armor set.

>>24057534>>24057540She's also probably the most scalped and buy hoarded 30MS girl ever.Like a good half of the stuff I've seen talking about her is just people talking about how they couldn't even get a single copy of her.Hell, there's actually been some controversy where some people have been caught selling unembarrassed store demo/display kits of her. >>24057639>people talking about how they couldn't even get a single copy of her.Well that's basically every new 30MS release honestly, you will always find people shitting on bandai for not shipping enough copies or having better measures against scalpers.
>Scantily dressed chocolate cat loli>"Guys, why the fuck are you frothing at the mouth over this and calling for our heads on pikes for not producing enough"- Bandai probably.
>>24057651Suits hate to acknowledge it, but animal eared lolis are the heart and soul of otakudom. Brown cat lolis are basically always extremely popular.
>>24057639Bandai will reprint her and all other Sisters in high demand, sooner or later. All you need is to wait. I have Sestieh, Shuremi, Belveria, Marical and Sourei on shelf and all of them were scalped to hell and back. All I had to do was wait, sometimes months but what's the deal? It's not like you have to get them RIGHT NOW.
>>24057660Funny because another common complaint from JP community is that getting a rerelease is actually harder since there are no set date of shipment for them, sometime they just appear in stores and it's pretty much game of chance to run into one. I guess it's much less of an issue for oversea for stores that report their restock schedules beforehand.
>>24057676That's not new

>>24057687>I won't mind seeing some chang armors and weapons that weren't overdesigned to hell and back.Even ignoring the modern trends, that's just how china themed stuff work. Just look at anything inspired by romance of the three kingdoms. You will take your obligatory lubu and guan yu with gold trim and jewels and shit.
>>24057687>Yamato OrochiBoss monsters incoming?
>>24057695Hard to tell if Bandai actually have the guts to make a massive boss monster for this series, people were joking that 30mm Provedel flopped so hard they are now too afraid of releasing something big again, especially if they have to scale up to the usual 30MF kits which are already quite big to begin with. So far they have been sticking to humanoid bosses like Nercoknight and Mephitos.
>>24057706Guess I'll just have to buy a box of 30mf wyverns to get me Orochi
>>24057706>30mm ProvedelI've seen a pretty cool build of it. It was the white version, in its rideable configuration. It had a 30MS kit riding it and the optional tubes you can attach to it were wrapped the sister up in a kinda lewd sorta rapey fashion. The sister also had a custom faceplate with glazed over eyes to simulate the mindraped/controlled look. It's a pretty decent "final boss" or pilot corrupting kit if you play up its strengths. Wish I saved a picture of that build when I came upon it.

>>24057748>do you leave extra to wrap under the partDepends on the part. For things where I wanted the flames to wrap onto the edge or where the edge is not gonna be visible I just wrapped the excess tape beyond the edge. On places where I wanted the adjacent surface clean, such as the barrel of the gun, I cut off the excess sticking past the edge.
>>24057748>Anyone know of yellow delicate surface frog tape will work for stuff like this?I don't know the brand but if it's masking tape it should work fine. If it's very sticky stick and unstick it down on another surface before applying over paint to reduce damage when removing it.

Chinese kits are going to get more expensive on November 1st EUbros, the ghouls are adding a 2 euro fee for each TYPE of item in a package, so just sprues + instructions + stickers/waterslides will add 6 euros to the total. Make sure to stock up now.
>>24057922>they are both the Titans versionThis is both unhelpful yet incredibly helpful for different reasons, thank you, they both look really great!>he manually painted the AEUG ver into the Titans coloursWhatWhy

>>24057929You messed up fees - it's flat 2€ on package, plus already existing 5€ per item type. So, 7€ total if you just order plastic kits. Of course, I would prefer it to be 0 but it's not as bad as people claim it is. Bandai kits are already better bought locally, what is actually affected are Koto kits mostly.
>>24057939>gonna do the inverseAbsolute madman, can't wait to see it

>>24057979If you werent aware, the production run of the mk.ii reprint has been getting pushed back for like 6 months now. It's a running gag now.
>>24057978Is your preorder also holding like $150 worth of Gunpla hostage?
>>24057982Oh...
>>24057972Nice website you got there, shame if someone redesigned it and got rid of the daily $30 sale an broke the wishlist
>>24058018The Gundam Place Store is better honestly
>>24058022>>24058018I try to shop at gundamplanet. They usually have the best selection of paints I like. Otherwise you can find some very good deals at more generalized hobby sites instead of ones that are strictly for gunpla.
>>24058018>gunpla websites>the search function gives me 50 unrelated items>you can't sort by price>you can't filter out out-of-stock itemsHate
Toronto anons, wanna meet up for a group build and chill
>>24058026Some gunpla stores have those, it'd honestly be pretty neat to do it with anons but I'm getting the suspicion that you're about to get creepy beepy in your next reply
>>24058027Dude, what about this site makes you think even for a moment that spending time with the people who post here in real life would be a good idea?
>>24058028Because I've met anons and they were fun to hang out withAlso I figure having to go outside and be relatively normal and re-attend events is a good filter in and of itselfI also fucking hate talking to normalfags
>>24058028I'm a nice person but I hate talking to most anyone, it's a pain in the dick.
How do I know if I can trust an Aliexpress seller? Found a couple that have the Solomon kit im looking for, but im always wary of Chinese markets like aliexpress
>>24058038Ali actually has fantastic customer support. You don't need to worry that much.
>>24058038if you feel you got scammed you can request your money back, also check if there are any buyers comments. I've bought several kits on aliexpress and always got what i paid for (some P-bandai kits even)
>>24058038whenever I buy anything on aliexpress, I try to sort search results by most orders sold and only try to purchase what I'm looking for from the sellers that have higher sold counts as they're more likely to fulfill orders properlyI haven't lost any money to aliexpress scam sellers since the buyer protection is pretty decent and in my experience it tends to default to the side of the buyer. if I haven't received any item by the time the buyer protection period is up, I just open a ticket and usually get an uncontested refund issued to your account within a few days. if the seller gave me a fake shipping tracker code, that even works as evidence since you can just submit that to aliexpress as proof that it never arrived since the shipping info will be all wrong.one glorious year a long ago, my country's postal office had a labor strike and international parcel processing was backlogged up the ass. I ordered two smartphones during that time and both ended up being free after refunds, albeit arriving very late. the packages had real tracking codes, but since the packages didn't get processed until like 3 months later, they therefore didn't show up in my country's postal system upon arrival and as far as anyone knew, after the package left china it basically became lost and ceased to exist.that said, I've never been so unlucky to buy something where they ship you a box of rocks or whatever, but generally that's why I only order from sellers that have a lot of fulfilled orders because odds are they aren't getting a lot of repeat customers if they're shipping rocks. if you're paranoid, take a video while opening the sealed package in case it turns out to be a dud or damaged on the way.
HG Virsago has closed fists it seems, along with a bunch of other stuff. Weird to think the villain has a much better HG compares to the protagonist due to it being made so late.
>>24058057>closed fistholy shit the second factory is starting to pay off
>>24058028I was attending several such meetings so far and they were all quite nice, nobody complained about me and I post on 4chan since 2009 or something. We are not some kind of monsters.
>>24058062You know, anons here should make fun of the box hands more so our tulpamancy can make proper HG fists materialize.
>>24056652HGUC Heavygun.
>>24058072You vill buy your RE100 and you vill be happy.
>>24058067I've been here since '06, and yes we are.
>>24058057Its honestly kind of dumb they made the first batch of revive hg protag suits have basic bitch articulation. Even god gundam has the retarded 90 degree elbow bends
>>24058091Honestly i don't see much use out of double elbow. Those 2010s HG lack stability which is a much bigger issue because Bandai weren't get used to KPS yet.
>>24058071If you think bandai won't continuously try to save money in the worst ways then you're on some crazy shit.
>>24057972>I ship it when I want to ship it.
>>24058093double elbow joints should be the standard. Atleast for protagonist suits. At the very least DX got the proper HG treatment
>>24058107Why not just build it out of junk?
>>24058038The one caveat I would warn you about is to ensure that the seller will properly package your product. I bought the GP02 and MLRS package, they both were sent in the original box wrapped in shipping plastic and both got utterly crushed in all directions along the way. Pieces ripped from the runners and others outright bent out of shape.Sometimes paying the extra $15-$30 from a reputable US site is worth it.
>>24058057>we have epyon at home
