RD and Pinkie both being Pegasi puts too much impulse energy in with wings. Having Pinkie serve as silly counter to AJ also makes Earth ponies so much more "we live a day at a time and enjoy each one" in different ways. Twilight and Rarity both being prim and proper with no solid foiling of the other's personality brings down unicorns to a stereotype that the other races don't get and why unicorns get flak for that.
