It's just palace, another image has added gatehouse thingy on separate island. Where the hell is the railway, where does the trains station fit? Where are the houses and living quarters for regular ponies? Canterlot is always said to be a city proper and shown in detached scenes, but it's always depicted as this sole palace and nothing else.
