Professor Kirin didn't deserve redemption

He wasted his wish to make Clean Sweep forgive him but at the end of the day it's the audience who's left to decide if he's forgiven or not. It's hard to feel sympathetic towards a necrophile rapist. I don't see the point of him desu. Now that he's in okay terms with CS I can't imagine anything for him to do. I think the only reason why he got the spotlight was because the Kirin lore needed an introduction. And the Kirin lore was needed for the setup of the movie. Honestly I would have preferred the movie to have focused more on the conflict between Parcelcore and Friendship. It was building up for so long and it had a proper setup. The Kirin lore feels so out of nowhere in comparison. But that's the only complaint I have about it.

did anybody else notice how the only ones to react to prof kirin joining in the last shot are braeburn, soarin, care package's dad and apple bottom? care package's dad makes sense with how kirin is literally leaning against him and it would make sense for apple bottom to react with concern for his father in law given their interaction at the end of bad influence but it's notable that nobody in the big mac triangle or care package himself reacts. also, why do soarin and braeburn react so strongly?, it's not like they've really interacted with him before outside of brief moments in passing. surely this has to mean something because why else would tamers add the details in the first place?

His protectiveness over his son despite seeming to not have any combat experience and his son being many times more capable in a fight than he is is very sweet and endearing. One can only hope for a shot of him and Prof. Kirin smoking together in the background of a shot or something, It'd be very cute. The shot during the credits of him trying to feed parcel core, in addition to being cute, made me realize that he's only known his son and now his grandson as both toddlers and fully grown adults. I wonder if this will end up being relevant. Maybe some angst over literally missing most of Care Package's and most of Parcel Core's, metaphorically? It's funny, we don't really know much about Care Package's Dad. All of his appearances have been piling on implications, setting up future plot points, and being a sweetheart. Man's just farming mysteries at this point. Anyway, I look forward to getting some kind of resolution for at least one of the questions that surround him.

Soarin and Braeburn was genuinely moving and I've been chasing that high ever since. All of the narrative tension built up around Mr. Package points to him being crushed under everything once it comes down. It's going to be so cathartic once he makes it out the other side. Surely Tamers won't commit to too rough a status quo on the other side of it. he's pretty consistent on his characters ending arcs in a positive place.

Him being Care's Dad's ex directly would make him like 60 or 70, which he doesn't really look or sound. But if he was that guy's son, his age would make a little more sense, and he wouldn't come with quite so much character baggage, and I think the potential for development on that front would be more interesting.
