All we need is up to date backups and the ability to spin up a new one if shit goes down.Having triple redundancy was fucking cool but in reality PB rejected the role of archival from the very start so it was always more like double redundancy, with poner and twi being basically equal. We don't need a third/fourth booru any time soon.If and when we get down to one booru, then keeping an up to date copy of the data will start becoming important, but even then spinning up another backup will be relatively low priority until the last one goes down and a new alt becomes necessary.

We could also have 10 altboorus and we'd be even more resilient, but then ten different anons would need to be spending big bucks on hosting (twi claims it costs like $3k/year) for very diminishing returns in safety.What's needed at the minimum is a durable backup of the data, and at least one browseable booru at most times. The data being the source of truth is the most important, and if there are periods where one booru goes down and someone has to spin up a new one from the backup, it's suboptimal but not critical.Having two boorus makes things even more convenient, and three already starts hitting diminishing returns IMO. Especially considering that a well-ran booru just completely dying is pretty rare - again, PB was doing its own thing basically from the start, and twi and poner have both been running for multiple years now with no sign of either of them being at risk of shutting down or going insane or whatever.

I'd send him a message and he'd get back to me reasonably quick. Usually just asking how the site's going every couple months, and usually the response was that it's going fine. But last August I believe it was, he stopped responding completely. Since then I've been sporadically trying to make contact just to make sure they're all alright over there. But I've not been able to do that. Even with the brief (and only) appearance of Lotus on the site during April fools on the forum, no responses to my messages. I've also tried reaching out to Megalith since he also used to be fairly active on there, but no luck there either. Though unlike Lotus I was not in contact with him previously. As I said, Gold Meddle is the only live one and the only thing I got out of him was that they rest have been just "busy". I don't know what's going on, and it's not even that I really want details, I'd just like to hear that they're doing alright. From the person in question.

Even the scraper is buggy, because there is a specific string which you can use to hide your post from desu. It seems like a bug, because it breaks the scraper. I reported it to them like a year ago, but no response.And they refuse to provide a db dump for mlp.
