I always liked these little equine features in their equine world, like stable doors.I swear their town became more "human" as the show went on.
Oh it absolutely did. Pretty much nothing added past season 1 added horsey elements, any remaining horsiness was purely vestigial.

Even the door handle, too short for a human, is tall for a pony. It should be nearly touching the ground.
