But me personally, I just think that what they had in mind really does just trivialize Opaline into basically nothing. Like, if she can't even defeat Allura, even though fire melts ice, and can't even outmaneuver Allura despite being a scheming noblemare, then what does she even have? Well, I guess all that's left is to redeem her and make her apologize, even though she did nothing wrong. Like, her very idea as a mare who ruined Creaturequestria is a torch in the dark. >>43346491Yeah, I know what you mean, fren. They'd undoubtedly and inevitably flanderize her character, if for nothing more than to prop up Allura as a larger threat. I can already imagine scenario after scenario in which she would portray that of a bumbling dullard, impotently raving about Misty and what not, only to be corralled into submission by the superiorly manipulative Allura. And of course, Opaline would eventually be "redeemed", exactly how and by what extent we can only speculate. All I could hope for in the case of her supposed "rehabilitation" is that she largely just remain the same as before, but perhaps less mad and consumed by her previous goals of conquest. Still the same lovely feisty and irrevocably based alicorn that we all came to love and adore, just a fair bit calmer and content, and with friends now to confide in.

In fact, you could actually say that it's all cut content because G5 simply ended where it did. Everything else is effectively nullified in terms of canonicity. It's just material that simply exists, but I personally don't really view it as being worth much of anything. What we got in the shows, it could've all been worse. That's how I look at it.
