The gist of it is that they expect me to be able to speak fluent Chinese with them, and then don't want to bother with the retard when my Chinese level is like at 5 year old level. It doesn't help that most of them struggle with speaking English either.The con not having any spots to sit down and talk with people is a challenge as well, and I didn't really see food calls in the dinner, so you could mingle into a group and build something from there.There were some who had seen me at CNBC last year, and I kind of got told about a post-con room event that I couldn't go to due to having to switch hotel today.I did get a spontaneous dance thing going by flailing around like a retard, so there's that at least.Actually knowing Chinese might have made for a smoother con experience, but not having any mingle spots, only a QQ chat group equivalent to a single-channel Discord server where everything gets drowned, and no public post-con events makes making new friends a challenge.Better luck at CSBC next weekend I guess.
