Preorders open from NOW until August 31st!
$20.50 for the first plushie, +$12 for each additional filly

>What is this?
/mppp/ is the mass produced pony plushie project. ITT we discuss mass-producing inexpensive pony plushies so every autist can have a cheap cuddlable plushie of their very own.

>The current situation
Small Horse Imports LLC has been registered in the USA to handle the bureaucratic, banking, and tax portions of this project. This is the company your invoices will come from.
Preorders have opened! The current wave has surpassed 883 preorders, more than any other /mppp/ run EVER.
Originally priced at $19.50 +$11 for each additional. But in order to comply with CPSC guidelines, plushies need to undergo certification, which will bump the price up by roughly $1 per unit.

>How much?
Estimated price of one plushie: $20.50
Estimated cost of each additional plushie per order: $12
All prices are estimates and may vary by 10% (or more if you live in a really hard to deliver to country) up or down depending on shipping to your country, fees, and if we produce over 1000 plushies or not.
If you want to buy 20 or more you'll receive an invoice for the cost of manufacture of the plushies, then a second invoice for shipping. Cost of manufacture is $8.46 per unit if we order 500-1000 unit, it becomes $8.26 per unit if we order 1000+

>What still needs to be done?
Place the bulk order with Symbiote.
Send out invoices.
Ship the fillies.

Want to help? Spread the word to other anons, or order some little green faggots for yourself and others.

If they quoted $200 for a single plush, surely even a small run would be cheaper. Even ordering 10 or 20 is usually significantly cheaper than a single one-off. (Assuming they actually have mass fabrication capability and don't just hand-sew 10 plushies the same way they would do 1.)
It'd definitely be more expensive with mane and tail, and especially embroidery if they can even do it. But it sounds realistic that if that anon works everything out and the pattern is good and works and all that, you could get lifesizes easily below $500, if not around $200-300 or so.

Given this I think multiple LS runs for various ponies is unironically realistic. I bet there's more than 10 anons who'd want an LS of Luna for $300, or of Anonfilly or every M6 for that matter.

The other thing is copyright which has so far been an issue for every /mppp/ run and is the reason only OCs have been done. Sounds like the LS anon wants to do ponk so maybe the shop explicitly doesn't care about copyright, that'd be really based.

What do we do if PayPal restricted our accounts? There's been a wave of bans going out lately. I was just banned a few days ago, and I personally know at least two people who've also been hit recently.
Would the best solution just be to get with someone whose PayPal is still working, or is something like Zelle an option?

Thanks baker.

>>43344510
>sell "parts" of a plush (unstuffed skin, user installed mane, user installed zipper?)
>don't infringe on character names (similar to adult companies)
Should be fine. I don't think you can copyright strike someone for having pink hair and pink cloth in a box that doesn't explicitly state WE ARE INFRINGING! Might be a good idea to not indicate a completed product is being sold at any point. It keeps the project firmly in etsy/home project territory and not selling a product.
>>
>>43344648
I signed up for one recently and they restricted mine. You should get an email saying if you want to fix it upload your government ID.
>>
>>43344886
It's against their ToS to pay for adult goods or services using PayPal, and I suspect they might've recently implemented an AI to audit accounts for that or something. But I can only guess. PayPal is cagey about the reasons behind these things, and they refuse to tell you exactly why your account was closed, as a matter of policy.

Symbiote is a US company and trying to handle US and non-US orders differently would likely make things more complicated than just doing all the same way.
>>
>>43345423
They're not testing fillies at import. Symbiote has to pay $700 to the jews and pass a test. That adds to the overall cost of manufacturing which results in a higher price.

Interesting. I had no idea it was controlled on the paypal side, I thought sellers could choose between allowing guests or not

Worst come to worst it's probably possible to set up Stripe. AFAIK it takes some paperwork or whatever but it's entirely possible for an individual to do it, so it'd be annoying but very much within the realm of possibility if push comes to shove.

Update. The company does indeed do embroidery. I've been quoted $240 per unit, unstuffed, with shipping and embroidery costs included. Prototyping will run $150, so I'm looking at an initial production cost of $390. Assuming the body works out, that wouldn't need to be prototyped again. They will be providing me with the pattern after the prototyping is complete, which means I'll be able to distribute the adjusted pattern if any adjustments are done.
Looking at a 3 month production time right now because they've never done this before and they're booked a month out, but after the initial one is complete they'll have a significantly reduced production timeline.
Material would be minky for the body and either 3" pile faux fur or minky for the mane/tail. They didn't say there would be any difference in pricing for materials or for colors (that means you, Dashfags), though I would factor in maybe $50 just for differences in labor and material just in case. The pattern includes a pocket, so I'll talk to them about putting in a zipper internally as well as under the tail for stuffing.
They take PayPal, crypto, and bank transfers. Considered facilitating orders for anons in the future, but probably will only do that if it's requested.
If anyone has embroidery files or mane and tail patterns for any pony, whether or not they're the correct scale, I would be grateful if you could email them to me at srganon@protonmail.com.
I'll probably be moving forward with this in the next month or so. I have a lot going on.
Any questions, ideas, or considerations?
>>
>>43346862
BASED BASED BASED god tier anon.

I was thinking about accessories, but tey can always be made later. Minky lower bits, crotchboobs, socks. Probably socks will be the only ones made due to the simplicity and lack of pattern for the top 2, though I'd really like the top 2 as add ons somehow.

I'll let anons send embroidery files if they have them. If you dont get any shout out and ill make some. I'll definitely buy one at that price point.

If the body goes well, all that needs to be prototyped is the mane/tail, which may be cheaper. The M6 all have the same body type with the major difference being wings and horns. It's not like the first run is a waste - I'm seeing if it's viable.

>>43347579
Company is hydoll, whom up to this point have only manufactured silicone and plush humans. There is no minimum order, and they have yet to get back to me as to whether a bigger order will lower prices. Even if it doesn't, I think their asking price is firmly within the realm of acceptable - it's just a matter of putting down the starting capital and effort for a first attempt.
As to who is next, I think if anything I might make a form and split prototyping costs between groups, assuming it's something people want me to facilitate. There's also the possibility that it's just no good, or that prototyping takes a long time, or whatever else.

>>43347705
I'm not sure about this one, anon. Seems like there's a lot of moonfags and dashfags. Luna wouldn't benefit from a prototype of the regular pattern, so maybe I'll cook up a form for her, too. The good news is that even without a pattern being sent to them, the company is willing to make an attempt. Plus, we can keep the pattern after the plush is manufactured.
There's a lot in the air right now and I don't even know how this is going to turn out. This first bit is just going to be me going back and forth with the company and updating you guys on whatever progress is made.

>sure, give me hope, then tell me I have to wait for the ponkfags and the dashfags to get theirs first
The guy in charge of this hasn't mentioned Luna or Dash once, except to shoot both down because he wants Pinkie first. There is no queue beyond Pinkie, so stop with this whining and guilt tripping and just let the man prototype his wife.

>>
>>43348132
I was thinking detachable or user installed mane is a good idea. It guarantees this is not a complete product (avoiding import problems) and allows you to pick. It also helps the argument that "technically this isn't pinkie pie its a pink fur horse and you can choose the pink mane or purple one."
>>
>>43348128
Based stallion enjoyer. I would do anything for a stallion lifesize.
>>
>>43347980
I didn't see the other anon post a pattern, so I deliberately chose a public one. I also have no intention of profiting from this anyway, and this hardly qualifies as mass production. On top of that, we'll probably be modifying the pattern.
I've never had a lifesize, but it's apparently a life changing experience, and I want that to be accessible to people. Not everyone can afford three grand and wait two pregnancies.

>>43347907
I'm going to have them add a zipper on the inner end of the pocket to make stuffing easier and an invisible zipper just under the dock for pocket access. Helps to keep it modular. If you don't want to use it to store your wallet, then use it as a way to stuff the plush. The exterior of the plush, assuming you don't add a wallet, will be completely SFW. If that still doesn't sit right with you, I'll be posting any embroidery files, patterns and order information so that the rest of (You) can do it yourselves anyway, and you can order one without a pocket. If all goes well, I'll try and facilitate the order process for those interested.
>>
>>43348039
I don't, anon, but you can email me if you'd like. I would only feel comfortable accepting assistance after the project is completed, though, if at all.

/mppp/ stands for Mass Produced Pony Plushies, so I don't see why we can't scheme about the plot to produce lifesized mares here. We've already finalized the fillies, after all.

>I'll try and facilitate the order process for those interested
Will it be possible to make single-pony requests in the future? or are we stuck waiting for our waifu to eventually come around to being made? looks like right now it's going to go Pinkie, Luna, Dash, and assuming each one takes a few months it might be years before (you)r wife gets made. Or mine...
>>
>>43348523
Hold yer horses. This is very exciting. Let's focus on getting the first prototype developed. Anonfilly is smaller, cheaper, and more margin/volume focused on the production side. Lifesize has enough breathing room and low volume, that it's completely possible this sticks in their catalog of products. 1 Lifesize is around 40 anon fillies, and that's still 70% cheaper than a commissioned one.
>>
*1 Lifesize is ~25 anon fillies.

btw this probably isn't the right thread for this, but I'm gonna wait until thursday to make a thread for the convention itself...

during testing of the plush badge system, I "ordered" ten badges that say Anon Filly and then WE ARE LEIGON on them, but I don't even own ten fillies, I have 3 from the 2nd run, and 2 from the 3rd run, and I'm probably only gonna bring one or two with me. Maget Filly (this picture is not sideways!) will be there for sure.
so if anyone here is coming to sunshine ponycon, bring a filly with you, and I'll hand out the remaining 8 or 9 badges to whatever green goofballs I can find, probably at the plush meet.

It sounds to me like this whole thing will operate on a system of "first anon to get a particular mare pays prototyping cost" and then they can make additional ones for 240.
So the moonfaggiest moonfag pays 390 for theirs, and then the rest get one for 240.

I think my biggest question would be is this a factory who will ignore/isn't strict with copyright
Thats what I foresee being the biggest issue since most people want a LS of their wife, not just a fandom OC they only like
>>
>>43348442
>>43348707
Because of this and other factors I'd heavily recommend against doing this in this manner, especially for other people. We should focus on a life size Anonfilly, Verity, Ary etc. with Olyfactory. They already have an old life size pony pattern too that is bigger than filly life size. Then there wont be any struggles or ugliness with the detachable hair and copyright issues from Hasbro, just customs issues. The minimum is probably smaller for a large product at Oly. I remember what happened to /mpp/ and two online friends who fucked around with doing plush preorders for others. They got raped and gaped by taxes, a cease and desist and customers charging the funds back when delivery was slow. I think Oly was sued over the official characters but cant recall.

The new customs laws make things so much worse for the shipping and customs clearance of bootlegs of copyrighted designs. Sometimes authentic and inauthentic cartoon and game toys/merch/items are referred to as "2B" (or some variant thats an equal label or name) products in China, it means popular, recognizable IP. Since at least 2024 2B items are more expensive to ship in general, some shipping lines refused to carry them. As of July 2026, the new satanic customs laws make this impossible to do safely, 2B (authentic and not) and plush toys (ANY kind, dakis too, unstuffed or not) are put under an ungodly amount of scrutiny, even from valid anime companies. If you touch money, you'll be on the hook to refund everyone who had their mail away brides stolen by customs! I hate to be a neighsayer but you are sticking your neck out so much anon, holy shit. I'd feel bad not warning you and I'd wanna be warned by someone who was familiar if I missed some oversights on doing something new and risky.

By the way, I'm not just saying that because I want one of these OCs to be first or anything. I don't have space or money to get any life size. My roommate would probably lynch me over a life size plush.

1. Ideally this will be parts of a plush and not a completed plush, so it should sidestep import regulations on plush toys.

2. He won't be taking orders. He is working with the factory to prototype. When orders are made everyone will order directly from the factory I'm assuming. No liability or tax burden on him.

3. Nobody has confirmed if they are fine with copyright, but this can also attempt to be sidestepped with customization options and removable manes.

To defeat the griffon you must think like the griffon.
>>
>>43349246
It sadly doesn't. It really blows. Customs took my buddies unstuffed life size lucario and it was last month before these new crazy rules. He says he knew of a few other similar cases so he had them mark it as a gift but that it didn't help. They took my anime figures too, from a legit company that I previously never had issues with. Felt like blowing my shit off after losing 400 in figures. I think more people need to harass our senators to fight to remove these bullshit rules. Twitter and Facebook say that customs is more inclined to steal fandom shit because it's worth money and this new law/rule covers their ass, and that NSFW items are at an even higher risk but they straight up throw them away and try to fine or even jail you if you're in a shithole like Asshole-stralia that has its motherfucking own set of rules. I hope to get out of my tiny apartment and get a LS one day. I just really hate the idea of the detachable hair. Symbiote has talked about selling life size mares. I feel like we'll start seeing that in like a year or so and we'll get our wives through them eventually for no risks for copyright problems (which still leaves customs issues even if the rules reduce or drop because they're bootlegs) or current high scale customs theft. I like how symbiote said they really want to cover every character that got a speaking role. While i dont expect that range for life size plushies i think they'll give us every popular mare and in the maximum best quality. I want us to do this right, with oly or symbiote. Oly can do ocs if symbiote wont but i think symbiote did the marefair plushies. While this project here is a neat idea if no one supports them when it comes around they'll pull the plug on the whole thing and we lose our biggest chance for great looking cheap life sizes. I really dont trust a company who only makes faceless human plushies to make a good looking quadruped with so much detail or customs not to fuck us any time throughout 2026 in the current climate. Oly will share issues that I mentioned but they've at least made a life size pony once and it had attached hair. Just sharing my 2 cents.

I feel like he's coming in here to spam walls of text and FUD. What are the odds a plushmancer or 3 would try to demoralize/sabotage a project that makes them obsolete? They also really want to steer us to using symbiote and oly which increases our burden of development due to administration and the legal side, vs my preferred strategy.

Also strange they randomly throw in they hate detachable hair in the middle of saying customs is strict. It reads like someone intentionally trying to fuck us over.

Holy demoralization campaign. Let the anon at least see what this company is capable of. All these wordwordswords really does read like some plushmancer trying to convince anons they have no choice but to rely on them for a big plush of their wife to cuddle with.

Appreciate the warning, anon. I'll read up.

Minor update; they said if ordering multiple units, they can quote a new price, and if the order is large enough, they can ship by sea freight instead, which would reduce shipping costs further (and presumably increase shipping time).

So I guess you guys are free to argue amongst yourselves, but to be clear, I'm still doing this, I'll work out whatever needs to be worked out, and I'll post updates as they come. Probably won't participate in the back and forth. Again, if you guys have any embroidery files or patterns for different body types, please shoot me an email.

I dislike the idea of a bulk order, and lean towards people order directly off their site. Less likely things get seized and helps sidestep copyright issues if they happended. Whatever you want.

The plushie is cute and the fuzzy fabric is super soft. AJ has a muted color palatte which I found interesting. She is ever so slightly smaller than a Symbiote. >Im worried about fan projects eating symbiotes lunch then we trade off best maximum quality for a small discount in price
This is either disingenuous or ignorant. All claims of poor Chinese quality are pointless now. Where do you think symbiote manufactures? Its not america. The only difference is their pattern quality (previously made by a taiwaneese guy iirc), and licensing.
Its also not a small price decrease. Its up to 90%.

Worst case scenario we develop a product, the manufacturer says no due to copyright, then we approach symbiote (who already has a license) with a completed product. Only thing symbiote would refuse is the pocket, unless they pretended it was a service port like tripgod suggested.

If we're going chinkmade its pretty retarded to not even try to use a pony experienced chink when we already have 2 that each made many characters with any edit or upgrade that was needed, provided. One even has the benefit of having a license and safety certifications to prevent anons from getting fucking robbed by customs. Its startlingly retarded to pick a company with barely any plushie production or plushie sale history, and what was produced was just faceless humans. Even worse so when they possess a lengthy history of order issues and scams apparently.

https://legitsexdollsvendors.com/hydoll-com-review/

https://gridinsoft.com/online-virus-scanner/url/hydoll-net

That's not all btw. There's a lot of complaints across the web about never recieving a product, recieving the wrong item or a damaged product, stolen photos from other shops and getting a crappy copy, not being able to get refunded, customers getting powerleveled by a box label on their mail etc. Its pretty concerning imo. Can anyone confirm that they even really made/make those faceless humans? Or did they steal those pics too?

You know these shady fucks are probably not meeting every tax/import/safety/customs issue. A product from this volatile circumstance, especially a life size pony who can't escape the category of "plush" or "child's toy", post July USA customs regulations, and counting on Hydoll to follow delivery and product creation instructions??? Very tall order. And if Hydoll powerlevels about product classing internally or externally in any record, good luck.

I would never trust this place... I guess the organizer didn't investigate their reputation? Don't want to insult over that, he's new to this and there's not many big red flags when you give their site a quick glance, but that's kinda something you have to do.

Wow these threads move fast, thank you Anon for starting a new one. Filly and I went on a little camping adventure and didn't have Internet the past week. I see that there are a lot of new and exciting developments. I'm really happy to see some other Anons hard at work making affordable LS plushies a reality. I'm definitely going to buy some. If you need any help with shipping logistics or setting up your business and all the bureaucratic fun that goes along with that, I'm more than happy to help!

We've hit 1116 preorders. So that means a 20¢ discount for all! I'll talk with Symbiote about the possibility of further discounts if we hit a higher order number like 1500.

As for the CPSC certificate it's just unavoidable. Symbiote hard requires it. The good news is that a CPSC certificate can be reused should we do more runs with this design. Bad news is that it is required for everything Symbiote makes, including accessories like socks, hats, etc... It's based off the number of colors used, so ostensibly if we have fewer colors it will cost less. Ergo Floorb should be cheaper. Either way at these order volumes $700 spread over 1116 orders is only about 63¢ more per order.

>>43350409

LIFESIZE UPDATE! I emailed the manufacturer (I'm not the tripfag) they said they are OK making copyrighted characters, but would need payment in crypto, not credit.

They also said they are planning on getting into anthro plushies soon, so this project started at the perfect time.

I think all we need to do now is actually get a prototype that passes our quality standards, before turning that into the M6. I think they will either not care about import regulations too much, or would be happy to sell "kits."

Amazing cave! Stop the bats! :D

Yes I'm somewhat a caver, and go into one or two per year. Here in northern europe the caves are really small and boring compared to rest of the world. This cave was actually accessible only through a mine, and we had to sneak there during the night to avoid getting caught. During the years, local bronies here have been cave pilled, and we had a small pony meetup there, even if is it was really sketchy and difficult location

The low quote was already a red flag from the start. Life size plush this big would cost at least 4x more from a legit factory and most factories would refuse infringing on large ips like Disney or MLP. This is fraud at worst or poor material quality and craft at best.
>>
>>43362113
Holy shit wtf thats crazy. Looks fake.

>>43361877
>>43362242
>>43362484
Please stop samefagging and FUDing. Let the project continue. This is a decently reputable company, and the lifesize price is in line with their other products pricing. Example they sell a 97" human plush for $220. This is a 55" LS quoted at $200. Completely reasonable.
>>
To the anon getting a skin commissioned, since they are fine making characters, perhaps its best to just get a whole thing completed? Including hair and emboirdery? Then multiple things can be tested per prototype, saving money? (Eye placement, cutie mark placement, hair shape, body shape.)
>>
>>43362694
The crypto is a little worrying, though. I doubt every anon that wants one has a crypto wallet, so how are we meant to pay for one?
>>
>>43362694
Not samefagging and its called not being naive. IDK why you'd say that. They're far from reputable. Reputable businesses don't have complaints like that, ask for crypto or break laws (laws that also come bite them in the ass with lawsuits or when customs steals your shit so you chargeback) for what would be chump change to them. The big human (if they really made it) was simpler and solid color, no details, likely mass produced with a lot of them made. Different deal than highly detailed one offs or few offs. 100% skeptical but its not my money. Still don't know why anybody hasn't asked symbiote or oly yet. We know they deliver and we don't even know their prices. Big bonus points for other payment methods.
>>
>>43363101
Symbiote is an American company, they're definitely not going to infringe on the copyrights of their licensor

>>
>>43344263

>>
Quick update. I confirmed with Symbiote that for each additional 500 units we order we will get a 20¢ discount. So if we hit 1500 units ordered we will have a unit price of $7.06 and if we hit 2000 units the price drops again to $6.86 per unit. Personally I believe we can hit the 1500 mark. If we do that then we will just about erase the whole of the extra $700 we have to pay for the CPSC.On the topic of the CPSC, we are told each color adds about $80 to $100 of cost to testing. I personally don't think this should make us limit our color choices for future projects too much, but lets not get crazy with 10+ colors on future designs.

Speaking of designs, I need (you)r help Anons. We need to create a logo for the tag design. Something along the lines of the example pic they sent. Don't worry about the legal blah, those parts don't matter. We just need some sort of logo for the /mppp/. I'm sure you fags have some ideas.

You'd be surprised how big of a (reputable business) illicit goods market China has. Theres companies with huge english communities surrounding them that commonly deliver on said illicit goods.
I absolutely believe theres a company willing to do this, but don't think that it guarantees this company is full through. While I do think the crypto is just to avoid any potential issues, It'd probably be better for the first order to be someone who wants an OC like Littlepip or something so they can pay with CC and chargeback if needed.

Update, thank you Anons for coming up with some good labels. I really like the idea of having "Autism Support Tiny Horse Soft Toy (自闭症支持小马毛绒玩具)" on the tag. I will see what I can do to make that happen. As for the logo I like what this Anon is cooking >>43366694 I've sent an email to bizdev@4chan.org to see if they will let us use the clover logo in our logo. If not, then I think just >>43366840 will be good since it'll let us have space for text underneath and it's simple. >>43367007 This one is funny, but probably will look like shit on the tag because of all the details.

>>43368074
See >>43368209 Nothing has changed. Everyone who has ordered will get the price we achieve at order time. If it is over 1500 units, then the price per unit will be $7.06. For anyone who has preordered 20 or more units and received an invoice, you will receive a discount on your second invoice.

Current orders stand at 1155. Also a pic of Filly at the Hungry Horse Dam. She was very hungry.

Don't be a fucking contrarian. The openpony model isn't perfect but it's pretty decent. I don't mind the SFM/gmod models either but they're much more of an acquired taste.
In any case there's plenty of fandom models which actually look really good, including sculpted ones that are bad for animating. I guess the main issue would be finding ones that we have permission (and ability) to use, since SFM and OP are mostly around simply because they're freely available.
>>
>>43368596

Figurines, plushies of various sizes, etc? The more detail, the better.
I may also be able to get some LS manufactured via their connections to China if, after showing off samples, I got deposits

Honestly aside from plushies I dont buy much merch but I would love a rerun of the guardians of Harmony figures, the fact these go for $200 each now is crazy. Maybe shirts/hoodies/hats that dont stealing art from creators? More plushies is always good, but idk how you could angle it in a way that sets you apart from Symbiote.

You think them having a Limestone plush already made would make getting a Tracy one made easier? Physically, only some of the mane would need adjusting, then it's just fabric color and an appropriate cutie mark stand in since I doubt they'll be willing to print Old Saint Nick Cage's face onto a plush

If it's targeted at adult fans - sure. Otherwise I do not think that parents will be really interested to buy a lot of non-can ponies at once.
Also in my opinion a blind bag is more thrilling and makes for a better spontaneous purchase.

Little League, Floor Bored.
Some bat pony mare would be nice. Echo isn't anyone's, right?
A yakutian horse like Frosty Flakes too, although that would probably be a big spike in cost so maybe not.
Verity and Sergeant Reckless, if we stretch the "OC" definition.
Then each general that lasted more than 3 threads tend to have their own semi-recurring OCs like Pillow Case, Morning Glory or whatever.
Blind bags are better with a roster that's not too small, although I guess past a certain point having too many models increase the cost.
>>
>>43372826
I don't know the legality of asking for figurines of OCs, given Hasbro doesn't own the copyright, I'm assuming? IP law can be so confusing with that stuff. Anonfilly isn't out of the question. I will look into a figurine of her in a blind box.
>>43372603
Very good idea. I'm not too familiar with brushables, can you tell me more? I can look into it and ask my sources.

Lifesizes are one of my highest priorities. They say they can even cheap them down to 100-200 and sell them stuffed on store shelves one day if they do well. My China guy coworker said he really liked the idea of a 'jumbo cuddle plush,' 55 inches and all.

Hasbro can always get in touch with the OC creators ("we're preparing a toy collection of fan-made OCs, contact us if you want to participate") and obtain this copyright for a limited run. News about this collaboration might also work as a good PR move and part of the marketing campaign for the product.

Sure, they're about 3 inches tall. They had a very neglected line in terms of variety. Hasbro insisted on only releasing the main characters like m6, cmc and princesses in all sorts of retarded recolors, over and over again, rarely any new character additions. Theres probably over 600 slightly different brushables and maybe 35 are not main characters. We never got a majority of background, secondary or non pony characters like what they did for g1 and g3. Stallions, the student six and cozy, dragons, the mane 6's family, dr whooves, wonderbolts, lightning dust, tirek, moondancer, autumn blaze, cherry jubilee, blueblood, sunburst etc all got one poorly designed figure or none at all. We never even got figures of easy shit like parasprites or owlowishous the pet owl, when they used to bundle every brushable with a pet. Nor any plushies of a majority of these characters.

OG g1 fans wanted g1 ponies in g4 style since day one. I dont think we got any of those. This is exactly what killed the toy line and show, people didn't want repeat toys anymore. There's also been releases with molded hair instead. I prefer molded hair, so do a lot of adults, especially g4 fans. Boomer mlp lovers and some market study said kids preferred the "barbie" style hair but I'm unsure how true that is. The blindbag waves and molded hair releases appeared to do better than many brushable releases, and the it seems to be the same case for the first wave of g5 toys. Hasbro did put more effort into a majority of the molded hair g5 toys than the brushable ones however.

There has been neglect to playsets, and even locations that we got were not real buildings. Compare the g1 stables and home sweet home to either sweet apple acres barn that came out which was just a fucking wall with doors. We never got golden oak library, zecoras house, ponyville village houses etc AT ALL. We have very shitty versions of fluttershy and rainbow dashes homes and sugar cube corner. Every castle release was not accurate to the show designs except for maybe one blindbag scale castle set that came out for the 2017 movie. The best playsets were the carousel boutique ones but there is room for improvement.

As for life sizes, I am also curious who is your company. I have a lot of trouble believing that figure, especially in the case of characters who are not the mane 6 being approved at all or having enough demand for store shelves. Recent info makes me wonder if sadly only twi, pinkie, dash and shy would meet their demand numbers for approval/investment. Pokemon has more demand than MLP 6 million times over, but they don't have life sizes on store shelves. I'm not sure if they have them at Pokemon Center stores. Their life size plushies are $400 to $500 and up at the same size, with a simpler design and bigger quantity made.

Only the mane 6 and pinklestia got molded hair "brushables". Not counting the guardians of harmony line which was something else. I didn't like their excessive and ugly joints and we didn't even get rarity or a non pirate applejack in GOH.

If we go with a blind bag, it could come as a toy + one or several cards associated with this character (like Kayou cards).

I'm thinking a blind box a-la Miniso, with new Mane 6 figurines and a low, rare percent of Fausticorn, and a rarer chance of the filly. Both so that we can produce less of them die to mostly board-only appeal, and because blind boxes are very attractive to producers.

The most marketable would be LS plushies in the range of $100-200. I know that is some serious fuck you logistics, but this is a completly untapped market. At a sub $200 price point they can be marketable to both the target demographic and adults. A simple run of the M6 + Celly and Luna. Small batches too because even at the lower price point it will be somewhat niche. Needs to be sold both in China/NA/EU markets to even make MoQs viable. Quality needs to be at least 90% of what a custom LS does. IE no spaghetti mane, use proper embroidery for all details, absolutely NO APPLIQUE or anything else that cheapens the feel. Body needs to be 2mm minkie, mane and tale 4-5mm minkie. You know, the works. Otherwise it'll just be another garbage plushie like just about everything Hasbro has spit out to the American and European markets. Other suggestions are runs of high quality figures that can be sold for $30 a piece in Hot Topic or bringing Reesee quality plushies to the NA/EU markets. We are so fucking starved of quality plushies here we are making our own goddamn plushies. Ignore the pocket requests (unless you give the plushies pone clothes with pockets)

>>43371565
I appreciate you getting our input. imo you either need to go bold with high quality, affordable LS plushies or meet the niche for high quality small plushies or figures. Gimmicky toys and shit aren't going to be of interest to the adult side (but will probably still sell huge to the kids who just want to play pony).

>>43372826
Don't bring fandom owned assets into the territory of licensed toys. It invites all sorts of legal ambiguities and also gives the Hasjews potential to claim ownership of fandom works. We need to keep a high wall between community owned characters and Hasbro IP.

>>43374650
That is only for bulk importers/manufacturers. Individuals don't have to worry about those types of things. Yes this will mean your MF5 plushies will be more expensive (They already got the shipment for MF4 before the CPSC took effect).
>>
>>43374761
Facts on the lifesize needing to be high quality and sold internationally. I bet there's a bunch of Chinese women who would buy a high quality LS. Girls love plushies.

No pockets? No plot either? At least if its standardized, after market mod kits will be possible, and still way cheaper than before.
>>
Actually, if factory made life sizes become a thing, I'm sure plushmancers would be happy to make and install kits for us ^:)
>>
I for one would much rather pay $300 for an LS that is comparable to customs in quality, than $100 for an LS that has had all corners cut for cheaper mass production. (Even assuming the actual manufacturing quality, e.g. stitches, stuffing etc, were the same.)
Though if a company takes us up on it but for making a high street marketable item (rather than purely as a custom run for us here), the $100 cheaper plush would amost certainly sell better, unfortunately...

Quick update for Taiwanfags. We apparently had forgotten to add your country to the list of countries on the order form. Sorry about that, you can now place orders as normal. If any other Anons notice their country is not on the list, please email info@mppp.horse Our logistics partner will ship to over 220 countries, so unless you live in somewhere that is an active war zone you should be able to get one shipped to you. That's a comically tall order for a LS. Making 8 different characters insane, let alone below $200 and with even a FRACTION of a custom LS's quality. It's an untapped market because it's just not possible.

Its not in the slightest. Hasbro sells spaghetti hair crap for $5. TADC Pomni plushies are the same size and 50+ individual pieces of cloth, and only sold for 8x or $40.

Amazon already sells lifesized horse plushies for $40. Lower quality and less stuffing, but it still stands.

The Chinese are capable and willing to compete with lifesize makers for 1/10 the cost or lower. Who do you think makes 90% the clothes you wear? Plushmancers don't have magic needles, just extra attention to detail. We are telling China how to be detailed. (Through official means or not.)

You're talking significantly more labor hours spent on detailed pieces, higher quality fabric all around, and a better pose. Hell now you can even knock off 2 of the designs. Though I have a feeling the original G4 designs would market better. Albeit, to Hasbro's chagrin. Maybe release the designs in batches, start with like a Princess set and gauge market interest, then do the M4 + 2. Either way you can get so, so much more with just a little extra investment.

Is it possible to get a photo of the tag in full focus?
I want to estimate the tag image definition to know the line thickness we can use (the thinnest part there is the star and its corners).
It looks like they are printing on tags, and in this case we can make the IWTCRD pose or the autist cap in good quality.
>>
File: tag measurments.jpg (2.71 MB, 4576x2574)
2.71 MB JPG
>>43384633
Here you go. The tag is 4.5 x 2 cm. They are printing onto the tag, so any level of detail is cool. Autist cap would be most fitting I think. She can sit next to the /mppp/. If we can use a font similar to the MLP font the would be cool.
>>
>>43384829
I've done some visual estimation.
One pixel on the tag is ~0.13mm (should be recognizable by a naked eye).
The Mare Fair logo size is equivalent to 60x70 pixels, and the overall tag size is equivalent to 340x150 pixels.
How much of the tag space we can occupy with the logo? On this tag it looks like it's the whole upper half which is 170 x 150 pixels - a really solid picture size.
>>
>>43385198
>On this tag it looks like it's the whole upper half which is 340x75 pixels - a really solid picture size.
Fixed, 170x150 is if the logo occupies the left/right half.
Also I uploaded the small image for 4chan and the text doesn't match the actual image because of that.
Here is the image in the original size:

>>
>>43384259
>>43384302
The life size horses are produced in 6 digit numbers for general stores and very big companies like Walmart and Amazon from the absolute cheapest materials. A reliable company delivering anything that's actually good quality wont be this cheap. The price expectation just doesn't make sense to the expected quality and quantity.
>>
>>43385217
*and are from very big companies

They have more money and warehousing space for ordering big quantities.
>>
>>43383531
I don't see Sealand anywhere. How am I supposed to get my fillies?
>>
>>43385198
If we really push for a high quality logo, picrel is how we can utilize the tag space.
The logo itself looks readable (most likely will look better and without jagged lines on the real tag), but the text on the cap is not good.
There are two approaches to fix this:
>1. Make the text shorter ("Be patient, I have 'tism")
>2. Choose a better font and realign the text.
>>
File: mppp_autism_logo_fix.png (8 KB, 340x150)
8 KB PNG
>>43385344
Here is the version with the bigger and clearer text.
>>
>>43385553
Alternatively, there can be a puzzle piece autism logo instead of text.
>>
>>43385198
I would think we need to leave a margin of something like 10-15 pixels around the boarder of the tag. We get the whole upper half of the tag, but I don't think their printer will print all the way out to the edges.

>>43385598
We could do the filly head to the right of the /MPPP/. Essentially replace the mare spam with /MPPP/ to keep the tag legible. Either way, thanks for the design help Anon!

>>43385328
That's one place I'm not quite sure if our logistics company will ship to.
>>
>>43385791
>We get the whole upper half of the tag
It's a pity that it's the only option, it would be much easier to work with the left/right part.
>We could do the filly head to the right of the /MPPP/. Essentially replace the mare spam with /MPPP/ to keep the tag legible.
The "MARES" text is the placeholder for the part filled by the plushmaker.

It is hard to put the text on the hat in this definition, here is the version with the puzzle piece.

Latest update. Symbiote has notified us that since we are importing into the EU we need additional safety testing to be done. It's another $700. So we need to spend $1400 on tests to legally sell these in the US and EU. Reeeee. Anyway Symbiote has reassured us that we should be good with the customs for the rest of the world because these testing standards are the strictest. This is an unfortunate circumstance, however if we get about 1400 preorders then it averages out to $1 more per unit. So $8 manu + test price per plush if we hit 1500. ($7.06 + (1400/1500)). A fair price to make sure your filly doesn't irradiate (you).

>>43386022
This is nearly perfect. Let's be more subtle with the Autism Support Tiny Horse Soft Toy reference. Notice the ID tag. That is a semi official tag for the item. I don't want to call her Anonfilly. Pic related. See the "All Rights Reserved" mark? I don't want Small Horse Imports LLC to own "Anonfilly". Soooooo We ID her 自闭症支持小马毛绒玩具 and keep the tag design simple. Just the lowercase /mppp/ in a cutesy font and Anonfilly with her hat. No need to make it busy, keep the joke more subtle, and most importantly not have a legal entity claim "Anonfilly"

I checked online, and the standard DPIs for the tag printers are 203, 300 and 600.
This translates to 360x160, 531x236, 1063x472 pixels on the 45x20mm tag, picrel is how it should roughly look.
Google says that the tags for MareFair plushies are using thermal transfer printing with a resin ribbon on a black satin polyester substrate (estimated 300 DPI), we can ask Symbiote if it is true.

Damn a pocket for the speaker is pretty smart. I've also heard of people putting a zipper in the back of the pocket if people want to stuff or unstuff.

>>43396839
There's currently 2 people. The guy who works with someone what has a license, and another anon sailing the high seas with an existing plush sex doll maker. Either way we win. I wouldn't want the guy with a license to get in trouble with a pocket. The plush sex doll maker doesnt care at all.

Its important to focus on the fact we are in no rush. If one method fails we have another. There are also plushmancers who do not want the project to succeed, because they would like to keep taking payment (thousands of dollars) and not delivering for 12+ months. Aka scamming.

That other retard is just saying it because he personally doesn't want it, and he's making up some purity shit about how moms are going to petition to get it recalled.
You, on the other hand, are just a retard who can't let a good thing happen.

That is true. I think a zipper, pocket with speaker, then zipper in the back of pocket for unstuffing is plenty reasonable and nobody will care.

The ability to unstuff is great for a premium product A zipper in the back or belly is unsightly/gets in the way of cuddling.

There is no fuck hole. There's a speaker box which is common, and hopefully a zipper in the back if you want to unstuff, wash the skin gently, and then restuff. Worth it on an expensive plush so it lasts longer.
>>
Without a way to unstuff, you need to use a carpet cleaner or wet vac o wash it thoroughly. With removable stuffing it takes some time, but then you can hand wash and dry the shell.

I... hope no one actually does this. To plushmancers: My intended product is no intention of replacement to your business. Custom plushies have their place as the top of the line desirables. All I want is to give people the option for something better in the event that they cannot afford anything else; are disadvantaged or poverty-stricken, do not have the extra cash to spend, or otherwise. Mass produced lifesizes will be no more different than a Symbiote jumbo in that it'll just be bigger.

Hot wheels for scale, this is my 90cm Aliexpress dashie. This is probably the quality level we'll be getting from these mass produced lifesizes.
Actual commissioned ones will always be the quality ones, I really don't see this hurting any plushmakers.
Someone who can barely scrape together 200 bucks for a lifesize certainly is never going to be their customer at 2,000 anyway.

They got back and have a sample of what the tag could look like. The logo will be bigger and take up the space in the green box. This is just a quick mockup sent by Symbiote. Overall I think this is even better than if we had the 4chan clover.

>>43394219
It wouldn't nullify the trademark. Any entity can use a trademark of another's as long as the trademark owner gives written permission to use it along with some stipulations like how, for how long, and where. It's a standard legal practice.

I am confused because the space in the green box is the same size as the space occupied by the logo.
Do they mean that the logo will take the current space + the space in the green box?

So when does the prototyping phase for Floorb start? After anonfilly preorder window closes or after they've been shipped out? Terri and thurday would be cute. Can't see terri being easy to do considering backwards wings and all the accessories, wouldn't feel right if they didn't make her with everything. Thursday is a little similar but more doable, giving them different eye patterns is easy and there are less accessories, though they might be a bit harder to actually make

I'd like it if Terri came without all her accessories because then I can make accessories for her myself and she'd be easier to cuddle without them on

A terri without her boots, cross, and wings would not be terri, I think the backpack could be skipped since it's also missing in a lot of art of her and it might be a bit too cumbersome, the rest really feel like a requirement
>>
>>43405025
>>43405106
The accessories can be removable. Symbiote does that for nearly all the plushes that use them. It's also how they sell the little seasonal accessory packs. Some little boots and a necklace can easily be made removable
>>
>>43405112
Yeah the issue is more how easily they can be done with mppp without being extremely expensive, I'm not really sure what capabilities they have when it comes to more non-traditional pony parts. Sure they've done things like the leather jacket but could they do everything on terri without it costing like $70 per plush?
