I have always read about anons proudly claiming they would introduce their daughters to the franchise. Well, turns out kids have a 50/50 chance of being girls and I got the boy (even though everyone on this board, and even irl, seems to be having daughters). Is it ok for his brain development to be introduced to MLP? It is a good show. I discovered MLP when I was a teenager and I got bullied by the girls in the classroom, one girl in particular hated me guts because I happened to share with her that I liked MLP, it got to the point she complained to the teacher about it and forced the teacher to explain to the class why "it wasn't normal for anon to watch that show!!!". Funnily enough, boys didn't mind, they were all friendly, a couple had seen the show through their sisters, none were brave enough to be Bronies though.I am simply asking if it's a good idea. The show is good, it is a million times better than any other cartoon produced in the last decade. I just worry about it impacting his development in unexpected ways.
>>43346761I think it's okay. It would probably be best if it were part of a larger good quality media diet, rather than letting it turn into a single-minded obsession... but as far as obsessions go it's not the worst. The worst is sexual fetishism.
>>43346761Give the kid back, it's unhealthy for them to be raised by faggots.
>>43346761I find it noble and naive of you to ask for legitimate parenting advice on this board, anon. The show itself is, of course, a children's show, but you know how it quickly extends far beyond that, so I suppose that if he takes a liking to it you could expect him to eventually encounter the wider "universe" of FiM, so to speak. But given I don't have children myself, I really am not the best purveyor of advice. I'd hope there are other anons on the board who actually have children who could chime in.
>>43346761Don't show him anything past season 2.
>>43346767This, don't let it be the only thing he watches and definitely don't surround him with pony themed merch.Gotta throw in some ninja turtles & power rangers, maybe even download some old animated cartoons like hercules or buzz lightyear star command. Things with male lead roles, feminine stuff is okay in moderation short bursts but if you're serious about raising a man he needs testosterone action
>>43346761Kill yourself normalfag
>>43346761let him watch it but get your hands on the old thomas and friends shows (back when it was filmed from a genuine trainset) and let the autism fly
>>43346761>forced the teacher to explain to the class why "it wasn't normal for anon to watch that show!!!"The teacher was a woman, wasn't it?
>>43346761Sure. I am into ponies and its completely healthy.
>>43346761They will be groomed by mares. Do it at your own risk.
>>43347788>TheyIt's his son, anon.
>>43346761maybe
>>43346761Do it. The show was meant to be seen in family, and that means father and son.Bond over it, tell him of the days you shared jokes with your internet buddies (don't show it to him, he is not ready for pure, raw autism), and let him have a favorite mare. When he is a teen or something, maybe show him beyond season 3 to 7, and let his autism run wild. When he is old enough, show him 8 and 9, and teach him that he will live to see everything he loves die in a dumpster fire.
>>43347861>teach him that he will live to see everything he loves die in a dumpster fire.Unbelievably based.
>>43347791Read between the lines, my friend.
>>43346761I'll echo the sentiment of others here. If you let him watch MLP, make damn sure to show him plenty of other shows that are boy-oriented or at least gender neutral. Don't let him become too obsessed with it at the expense of everything else. I can think of at least three possible negative outcomes if that happens:1) Bullying and social rejection. I probably don't need to explain this one, but there was at least one boy who attempted to kill himself due to being bullied over liking MLP. The risk there is real.2) He might become sexually attracted to the ponies when he gets older, and this could have a negative impact on his sexual development and interest toward actual girls. You can spot plenty of evidence of that just from hanging around this board.3) If he happens to be a boy who is more naturally androgynous or effeminate leaning, MLP could push him further in that direction. I doubt it would make him gay, but if he has even the slightest inclination toward being trans, this could contribute to pushing him over the edge. I know I've seen mention in multiple places of an "MLP to trans pipeline." Just from my own firsthand experience, MLP has turned me much more feminine than I used to be, and I was already an adult when the show started. Children's brains are much more malleable. There's a very good reason why most fathers steer their sons away from anything meant for girls.Knowing what I know now, I'd probably have never watched MLP, and if I had a son, I don't think I'd let him anywhere near it. Proceed with caution if you decide to let your son watch it.
>>43348549i would like to add to this statement as a different anon:The most important thing you need to do as a father, is to spend time with your son, and not just teach about the world to him, but have him experience it toghether with you.
>>43346761Yes, show it to him!
>>43348549>Knowing what I know now, I'd probably have never watched MLPYou'd have still been a loser reject if you hadn't, but the cope is entertaining.
>>43349406Glad you're entertained. I won't argue your assertion that I'm a loser. A good chunk of the people on this board probably are. But my point still stands. This show can fuck people up, and that's especially true if you're prone to neurodivergence or gender issues, and if you're the type to get hooked on a show for girls, then the odds are good that you fit into one of those categories.>>43346761One more thing I forgot to mention. If your son does like MLP, keep him far away from this cesspool of a fandom. It has the potential to be way more damaging than the show itself.
>>43346761Only show him EQG
>>43346761I wouldn't let my kid watch MLP because the ponies waste a lot of food and overall have really bad table manners. also this>>43348549A huge huge chunk of bronies became trannies and zoophiles, it's probably not a good idea to show it to an impressionable young mind.
>>43348549>>43351344both "negative impact on [...] interest towards actual girls" and "mlp to trans pipeline" are culture problems, as in fandoms and social media influence. Maybe you are new but there was a time where /mlp/ wasn't infested with incels, and we regularly told fags like that to go back to /r9k/ddit - this proves that ponies themselves are not the cause of that problem. The same goes for trans/gay stuff, we used to push those people away but the culture collapsed under the pressure of THE ENTIRE REST OF THE INTERNET starting to push that shit and respectable people in our community falling into it, for better or worse. Pony is not a primary factor in any of this, just an aesthetic that these parasitic ideologies associate themselves with; if our culture was stronger we'd be able to shake them off a bit better.
>>43351582>there was a time where /mlp/ wasn't infested with incelsThat's because the incel phenomenon (i.e. women being picky whores phenomenon) wasn't as widespread as it is today. Has nothing to do with pony.
>>43348549>>43351344>>43351582What the fuck is wrong with you faggots? This is the pony board. Pony should pony pony!
>>43351582>muh incelsName one single thing wrong with hating women without resorting to ad hominem, without sounding mad and without sounding like a simp.
>>43352427Name one single thing wrong with being gay or trans without resorting to ad hominem, without sounding mad and without appeal to religion.

>>43352461You are extremely based.
