>In the middle of it was a large boulder, covered in dark green moss, with a steady stream of water flowing out from under it.

>”Hey, that looks like it could be from the stable! How’d you know it’s here?”
>Star’s hooves thumped on the green and healthy grass of the clearing as she folded her wings and let herself fall.

personally, for me she didn´t capture shit. the setting is what did the overwhelming majority of the work of making me love the book. i absolutely loved the memory orbs and terminal entries, finding out what the fuck went down for equestria to turn out this way along with her... The characters of Kkat´s FO:E are mostly just mid, except Steelhooves and Calamity, i like them, but Pip is a retarded cunt, and Remedy is just a plot device that breaks character as the story demands. Don´t get me wrong, i love FO:E but the characters play little to no part in that, my enjoyment of the book is majorly carried by the setting.

FoE really could have done with a revision to touch up the side quest meandering, character issues and contrived bits. It really works a lot better when it's trying to be a ponified analogue instead of blatantly copy and pasting entire narrative structures from Fallouts 1-3. Remains did it a lot more tastefully imo.

Most of them, probably. The internet now is way larger than it was even back then which leads to the knock on effect of things being way more fractured. There are too many intermingling cultures which leads to cliques, disconnects in communication, and generally a more fractured online space where ideas have a hard time spreading outside of their own bubble.

Viral fandom hits are not really a thing like they used to be. Fandoms in the style of bronies are not really a thing. The closest thing most video games, as an example, have for a fansite is a subreddit run by a couple of dedicated fans that might garner a couple posts a day. On one hand the huge variety across the web is good and really cool; you can find whatever it is your looking for somewhere, right. But along the way it's also become way harder for stuff to hit critical mass and 'break out' into the wider sphere of things. If it's not in your bubble you just don't hear about it.

Dunno how you would go about fixing it. You'd probably have to do a lot of research dealing with recommendation algorithms and how to kill tech suite execs or something.

I have never interacted with any FO:E material, but I used to play a shitload of EaW and OWB. So I naturally have interest in Balefire Blues. Regarding that, is there a recommended nation for someone with no context about the story? One of the only things I know is that Trixie united with my wife, which disgusts me, but I am curious also to learn more about how and what became of it. I also have interest in her Ministry. And, as a second question, how faithful is the mod to the original story? From what I can see the mod at least tries to insert an enormous amount of analogous situations and factions from FO lore into Equestria like the Enclave and BoS, which seems somewhat, I'm not sure, arbitrary?

I'm aware I should probably just start reading the original story to answer some of this, but it is also an enormous text. Thanks
