Honestly all of them save for The Best Night Ever had some kind of jarring or whiplash inducing nonsense that brought things down for me. Season 2 is the easy answer, but barring that I'd have to go Twilight's Kingdom for how definitive it feels.

Source? It doesn’t feel like it to me. It feels like a new season. Ending with the Grand Galloping Gala in Season 1 made perfect sense. It was the perfect finale for that season.

season 1

grand galloping gala is pretty much a perfect episode and i my favorite finale

hard mode: season 6 is a fun idea having various villains from multiple seasons team up to save everyone because of how the mane 6 and spike influenced them. the finales after that arent worth mentioning and 2-5 weirdly dont have much team work and rely on twilight to save the day every time which feels antithetical to the show.
