OP late seasons suck ass there's no way around it. The writers are so jealous they will always live in Lauren Faust's shadow that they had to destroy the characters and world she made. Many episodes have lessons that go directly against the first couple seasons. The final villain's demise is a reference to why Lauren left production. Don't look it up, but you can figure it out pretty easily when you see it.
