Really good art thread
>>43409416
>>43409425Borderline case but I'm biased because I like overlanding.
>>43409429I would post more, but I don't want to tilt it all towards my wife, and I also feel that a lot of Pony art straddles the line between 'good art that is comfy and comforting' and 'art that is really good'. For instance, I'm no trained critic, but a lot of the art I save does not have the best command of shadows, or perspective, but I like it because something about it speaks to me. To me, it's good enough to be saved, but is that 'really good' art?
>>43409416>Really good art threadSo it's a Plainoasis thread!
>>43409416Looks like AI slop >It's X years old!!Don't care, it still looks like AI slop.
>>43409712 It is aislop, actually.
>>43409981How can you tell? I can't pick up on it when its stylised
>>43409416>Really good art thread>Posts aislop Huh?
>>43409416All my good ones from when I was getting back into the fandom on my other drive. Thankfully my wallpapers are just as good.>>43410117Doesn't look AI to me. The lighting is well distributed without bleeding over to where it shouldn't, the patterns are consistent enough to have been done by a human, and the form overall doesn't have subtle rigidity, plus the composition is organic without minor depth discrepancies. The only thing that's odd is the paint cracks contouring around the body, but that can be chalked up to it being a 3D model with a UV map. I've seen enough convincing AI pieces to know them when I see them, and this doesn't strike me as one, but then again, I haven't been keeping up with the bleeding edge of late.t. not that anon

>>43410226Oh no no no...
>>43410226Huh, neat. I tried searching the booru to verify, but couldn't work the tags on short notice. Well, whoever trained that AI did a dang good job.
>>43410218>>43410226Oh no, luddite sisters, our response?
>>43410632You will never be a brahmin. You have no izzat.
>>43410218>>43410117the obvious tell is there's the weird cracking texture applied on subject. it's literally every surface, clothes, her eyes, her skin. it was supposed to mimic the physical painting, it shouldn't mesh around the actual subject. it looks like everything is made of reptile skin.
>>43410665Oh yeah, good point. Rarity's skin looks more like cracked porcelain but the craquelure should really be flat (or at least mirror the surface of the material).
Epic Derpy.

posting my favorites, sorry for spam
>>43409981>anything detailed is aislop now
>>43411822I'm not saying it because of hatred of detailed ai slop art, but it's really an ai generated thing. See >>43410226

>>43413792I would hate to not be a pegasus man
>>43413868Headcanon Cloudsdale is better than canon Cloudsdale because needing to shade, counter-illuminate, and contrast using Flash isn't worth the effort, usually. Being a pegasus in the actual show is a dogshit existence.
>>43412218>I ..can feel... I'm alive?
>>43409981Hi, AI guy here let me break that shit down for you.AIslop is when it's indeed slop. lazy. But keep in mind AI uses ART. Your art even. You'd call a gen trained on your own art slop. The image is good because it uses good and great pony artists plus a famous painter and their techniques. The OP image is AI... Certainly made from the work of traditional artists to have this feel, is more natural than an artist working with digital art only with corporate tools. You's like a boomer calling fast food bad, it's insulting to the farmers who cared for their beef, the agricultors who collected the salad, the potatoes and all the ingredients on the burger they're pointing at, while cooking at home plates made with imported industrial products. You're playing victim "Ai will replace us" to justify your attacks and even if it paid off, you keep going on...
