As far as I know they started less than a year ago. At this point it's pretty obvious that a good AI artist completely decimates both regular prompter heroes and actual artists. The "best of the best" they post on Patreon is nearly flawless. I subbed to steal their workflows, only to find out that not a single image is raw. They are I'm guessing heavily edited, though occasionally I run into an inpaint workflow that is about as basic as fuck as it gets. Literally just a noobxl and your basic inpaint tools. Now I just stick around cause I'm a fan. They apparently trained a lora on their old furry art style, though they do seem to use some regular models too. It's an all out variety show. Anyway I'm not gonna shill them or anything. Just something I noticed. Pic not related. I also like this dude.

Image storage doesn't cost much, it's bandwidth that's the real problem, and since there isn't a greater interest in AI art than there is in regular art (in fact, it's less) the bandwidth requirements shouldn't be too high (it's actually bots and corpo AI scrapers that are causing sites headaches right now). This is why sites like Tantabus and Civitai have no problem storing everything that is uploaded without any quality control - storage space just isn't the issue (it might become an issue if everybody starts uploading slop videos though).

Even Derpibooru for how long it has existed only has about 2.7 million files (and Tantabus has only about 40,000 files). Of course, you need more than one disk because of redundancy, not every file is 100 kB yadda yadda but you get the picture (if you store everything as AVIF you get even lower total file sizes but as you can see it's not really the problem).

>>43434409That particular image was actually a composite of two seperate pics I gen'd and edited. One of Celly, one of NMM.That might have affected what you're noticing. I also am not overly familiar with sampling steps.

Deterministic samplers converge, so at a certain point the amount of steps becomes superfluous (i.e. a 50-step image will look almost identical to a 100-step image, or actually worse if you're unlucky). Ancestral samplers add noise in each step, so if you go from 20 to 50 steps the image might be completely different. This also means that at a certain point it becomes useless to increase step size because it will just give you a different image. It's best to try to find the sweet spot for the model you're using by letting the program generate 50 images at each step so you can see at what point there are enough details for it to look good and any further step is just changing the image rather than improving it. The last part I can't help you with since I know nothing about controlnets. You'd have to do that one character at a time, but that's just a question of applying a mask in inpaint or image2image.Even just adding basic flat colors with the paint bucket tool helps the model a lot.
