Frills can change colour, midsection carapace can change, etc. Nulings have a lot more variety in colour, but they don't have the same balance to their design. They'd probably benefit from making their colour scheme more consistent. Instead of having a variety of random colours, consider IRL bug patterns. Generally even when they're quite vibrant, they're all flowing together for a particular purpose.I think it'd also be worthwhile to experiment with giving nulings a frill again, though make it appear more "hair-like", similar to chrysalis's. Have it match their tail wings.
