It ties into her potentially having made her own party cannon, and I like the idea that it's just a tiny catapult she probably made that can just so happen to be used to throw cakes. She's mischievous and lulzy and silly, but yeah if we're going with "Pinkie is clumsy sometimes but very emotionally aware" then her wanting to surprise and scare Fluttershy kinda just falls into her being a bully and contradicts with her scene in Griffon The Brush Off. Now, if she was tormenting Twilight with it, that'd be different; she always seemed to love bothering Twi, kek.But, yeah, I can't say I'm expecting her to be written perfectly in specific, or anyone really, but the art at least looks cute and it did put a smile on my face seeing Equestria again. Especially the beauty shots in this intro - felt a little moved by it for sure.
